It was at this moment I realized why LOTM affected me too much.

LOTM first part was all about family, the good stuff. Stuff that we see in our everyday. Something we consciously thought about. But later on, you realize and unravel things that passes you, things you repress and put in the subconscious, it's loneliness. While you could be surrounded by thousands of people, not all of them will stay with you on your journey until the end of times. There will be a point in your life where you'll be alone and no one will be there to give you comfort, and you have to stand by yourself and face the challenges in a do-or-die way, with all the stakes, with nothing in your favor. That is LOTM.

And as you accumulate these experiences, you will soon realize, as you look around you, as you look behind you, no one is there to celebrate with you with your success. No is there anymore to know you, no can understand you and what you've been through. So as you go back to surrounding yourself with people you once knew, you knew you've been different and experienced different things that he/she could never understand or fathom to understand and that loneliness grows. Until you don't feel you belong in any place, anywhere. And their interaction with you turns awlward, until it turns plastic.

That's probably why I cherish the Leonard and Klein moments in the book. Because, on his lonesome journey, there's that one person from his crowd of people that still chases after him and still tries to understand him despite the barriers that comes his way.
