Since Bluey doesn't have a Halloween special yet (or any scary episodes for that matter), I have an idea for one:
Some of you may have heard about the Bunyip: a monster from Australian folklore that lurks in watery areas like rivers, lakes and swamps.
So how about an episode of Bluey, where the Heelers go camping, and at night, Bandit tells a story about The Bunyip. Bluey thinks the story is silly, but Bingo gets a bit scared, and later, when it's time to go to sleep, Bingo gets scared, because she hears strange noises from outside, thinking it's the Bunyip coming to get her! Bingo tells Bluey about the noises too, and pretty soon our favorite Blue Puppy hears them and gets scared as well. Bluey and Bingo go to investigate and tell Chilli and Bandit about it too, but in the end it turns out it's just a small animal like a Wombat or an Echidna looking for food at the Heelers' campsite.
That's Version A of the story.
Version B: Bandit goes sleepwalking and accidentally falls into a puddle of mud and some bushes, making him look like a monster, and when they see him, Bluey and Bingo mistake him for the Bunyip! Chilli and Stripe (if I decide to add him and his family in the story too) see the mud-covered Bandit too, and they also think he's a Bunyip, so they proceed to beat him up until the mud washes off of him, revealing who he really is. Chilli realizes that Bandit's been sleepwalking again. But, in the end, as a twist, we see a pair of eyes in the water, implying that Bunyips do exist in the world of Bluey...
Or maybe Version C: Bingo and Bluey actually do meet the Bunyip, but it turns out to be just a harmless little creature, and the Heeler Sisters befriend it. I might make this version a story, where it's a baby Bunyip looking for its mother, and Mama Bunyip is looking for her baby too...
I don't know, I'm exploring options...
But anyway, it would be nice if Bluey had a Halloween special, one that would feature the Bunyip...
"This episode of Bluey is called: The Bunyip!"

Hi Indie I need your help with something...so I have a new ask blog called @little-cryptids, it does include mythical creatures and folklore btw (and they are also babies) and I was drawing some of them and idk what else to draw, here's what I have so far (and the space I need to fill)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Do you think you can help?
Hmmm, well, what could I bring you in mind for some suggestions of Other Creatures to draw next for More Characters (if that's what you're trying to look for).
I would at least perhaps suggest for Extra Characters such like maybe have a Cerberus, Griffin, Cyclops, Kitsune, Phoenix, Jackalope, Peryton, Bunyip, or even a Chupacabra.
If that can help your answer if I got it correctly, if you want more of the space to be filled, you can take some of any of my suggestions for more mythological creature-based characters.

Prehistoric Planet Family watch along Day 3
Mum wasn't buying Velociraptor as a cliff climbing animal in the beginning. She warmed up to it a little bit after the featurette but still didn't think it was likely.
Everyone was weirded out by the Deinocheirus. "Can't believe it's bigger than a T.rex" "It's so shaggy." "Looks like a bunyip".
Everyone was even more weirded out by the Quetzalcoatlus. "She just goes from being a giant head to a long neck and then she's just legs. How does she hold all those eggs inside? Where is her stomach?!"
Most gruesome death so far goes to that gooey Quetzalcoatlus egg.
Pterosaur vault launch elicited a "HOW??" reaction.
Sister noticed the similarity between Masiakasaurus teeth and Grey Nurse shark teeth. "Thick and spaced out like a rake but not as sharp and not curved inwards." (actually upon further inspection the teeth ARE curved inwards, they're just hidden by lips!)
Most shocking death in the series so far goes to the baby Masiakasaurus being eaten by the Beelzebuffo. Not because we didn't see anything snatching it up, but because being eaten by a frog just seems to be an awful way to go. Nasty.
Surprised none of them have heard of Elasmosaurus.
Personal notes
Velociraptor is my GOAT so it was my time to absolutely shimmer tonight.
I seriously want to thank my mum and sister for watching this series with me and letting info dump them about dromaeosaur biology.
"So how does the velociraptor go back up the cliff?" "YOU ACTIVATED MY TRAP CARD! Wing Assisted Incline Running! It allows me to summon from my deck Creative Beast Zhenyuanlong!"
Seriously, watching the featurette and being able to predict or explain factoids to my family was just as fun, if not more, than watching the episode itself with them.
Quetzalcoatlus makes for a great campfire story monster. "And there is was tall as a giraffe! Head of a heron, body of a bat!"
Someone should be counting how many babies have died so far in the series.
Overall this was another fantastic episode. This has been a really fun and exciting experience so far. And of course it had realistic Velociraptor so it was an automatic 700000000000000/10.

The Creatures of the Garden of Ramshackle!
Since the Perfect has been dubbed a "Beast tamer" Who says they stop at one? Who said they have a choice? (Not the creatures, I'll tell you!) Now the forest behind Ramshackle is full of monsters ready to protect (Y/N) under any circumstances!
One little monster, that's what started this
Finding the poor thing half-dead under the porch of Ramshackle, well you couldn't just leave it there!
Although the protest of Grimm and the ghost warning you that it might not make it, the Perfect cleaned up and treated the monster.
Now what is this mystery creature you may ask? Well something that is known for hurting people! An Amarok! And a baby one at that
The little (well... She's the size of a full grown hound) pup tells the Perfect about some hunters that killed her mother and siblings in cold-blood, and how she was away from their den against her mother's words
Once the Perfect calms the crying cub (who's name they learn is Alasie) to sleep they go and see someone who would know what to do, and not freak out about it.
Mr.S! A man well versed in many things thanks to those friends of his.
After explaining to The Perfect what they found (and how lucky they where), he agreed to help them out. (By giving them a one time free deal and discounts to follow!)
Once little Alasie was back to full health and spirit, the residents of Ramshackle let her back out in the woods, though they intended for her to be independent... Well she had different ideas, staying on the front or back porch of Ramshackle protecting the magicless little human who helped her come back from death!
And that was the first monster (besides Grimm) who would seek The Perfect of Ramshackle!
Many monsters have come to seek out (Y/N) for help Tsunotaro
And even if The Perfect says they don't want anything in return, the monsters stay around simply because they like The perfect TSUNOTARO
Heres a quick list of scenarios that The Perfect had encountered
(Y/N) meets a Bluecap in a cave in the forest, and after being polite and making civil conversation with the little fae creature, they lead the Perfect to a vein of particularly valuable ore! As compensation for how lovely and nice the Perfect was to them. And now the sweet Bluecap hangs around out back of Ramshackle ready to lead (Y/N) in and out of caves!
The time (Y/N) was foraging in the forest to save some money and ran into a golem and homunculus combo. The two where abandoned by their creator and had no where to go and no idea what to do. Being the kind perfect, they invited them to the dorm! When a tiny wooden human and towering stone golem behind (Y/N), Grimm nearly passed out. The duo stay at Ramshackle now (They even have their own room!) And help out with any cleaning or heavy lifting the Perfect need! (The tiny homunculus sits on the golem's shoulder giving them simple commands so (Y/N) doesn't have to.
The forest is full of many beings. Bunyips that live in the river bed, Gnome's who's homes resemble a rabbit warren, Kelpies that wander the lakes, Will-o-Wisp who light up the dark overgrown paths, Swan Maidens who come around once a week for a dip in the lake, the sweet Dryad who lives in the big oak tree in the middle of the forest, and many, many more. The Ramshackle Perfect has met nearly all of them and have even received gifts from them.
A down coat and blanket made from the Swan Maidens own feathers, fresh flowers (enchanted to never wilt) and herbs grow personally by the Dryad, hand crafted goods befitted with gems gathered by the Gnomes, food, materials for repairs, and everything in between have shown up on Ramshackle's door step or given to (Y/N) by hand.
Maybe its the Perfect's kindness or strange charm, but not many creatures have made an attempt on their life
Many come to the Perfect for small problems or if they need wounds mended, but always give an object or favor in return
Grimm and the ghost don't know how or why the monsters are here, but hey! Extra help (and tuna) is always welcome.
The Ramshackle Perfect sure does have a way to make strong beings love them, huh?

more up-to-date icons of some of my own characters, generously commissioned by others, part 4! (part 1, part 2, part 3) thanks for this batch goes to @routsife, another anonymous party, and my good friend from skype again! thank you all so much
mini bios under the cut
Bunny: Gruff young man of indeterminate and either hybridized or mutated species, refers to himself as a 'bunyip' for convenience sake. Generally aloof, but can be easily swayed by bouts of hotheaded wrecklessness and provoked into a fistfight. A member of the Arrows, and uses his cool exterior to hide that he is the one who feels the most 'in limbo' about what to do with his life as the group shows signs of drifting apart.
Rook: A seasoned space pilot who makes a living delivering cargo, sometimes illegally, between star systems. In spite of his roguish career, he is otherwise honorable and heroic to a fault, is highly perceptive and respectful of others, and will call in favors from his many connections or endure major personal setbacks if it means doing the right thing for someone he barely knows.
Paper: The charismatic ferrumite kingpin of an faux crime syndicate that is actually a resistance network that opposes, and hopes to one day overthrow or destroy, The Necrin. Much more troubled and pained than he lets on, he gussies up his excessive drinking and sleeping around behind a cocky and playful demeanor to mask their true nature as coping mechanisms for his traumas and the immense stress he is constantly under.
Soda: A sweet baby slime infused with sparkling citrus, who communicates by blowing specially shaped bubbles from her straw. Is curious about the big wide world and likes to play and explore, but is easily distressed by loud sounds or vibrations (they disrupt her molecular structure!).
Nickle: Very friendly and flirtatious, but dumb as a box of rocks, Nickle is what we academics would refer to as a "himbo." Doesn't have a mean bone in his body, but he can be shallow at times, and because he's managed to cruise through life on luck and good looks, he doesn't always comprehend others' problems and moods, and can be insensitive without meaning to be.
Chlorine: A calm and sophisticated man with a slyly clinical way of perceiving and interacting with others, but his good manners and hospitality usually make up for it. He is in possession of seemingly infinite wealth, and while he is suspiciously elusive about the source of his income, he is generous with it and takes pride in being a good host and spoiling people he takes a shine to.
King Gelatinous: A lazy and gluttonous hedonist who rules a chilly tundra from a castle in the local mountains, nonetheless beloved by those who live there because his love for food and revelry extends into a passionate belief those things are best when shared, using his vast magical powers to ensure comfort and prosperity for his people. That said, his boisterous goofiness masks a being of deep thought and stern convictions, and those who commit truly evil acts and refuse redemption will incur his wrath.
Rutile: Once a heartless and violent demon of myth who devoured entire villages, his rampage was cut short upon entering KG's territory. The two fought for several days until Rutile finally lost. When KG showed him mercy and urged him to change his ways, Rutile agreed, and even after he’d proven he’d changed, as a form of penance, he chose to sacrifice his own face, replacing it with a magic mirror, so he could never again eat another innocent. He has since become one of KG's closest friends.
Hamsterdamn: Originally nothing more than the class pet in a high school biology class, an explosive chemical accident gifted him with sentience, and killed the science teacher, whose job he then inherited. Pilots a human sized 'mecha' he constructed out of parts pilfered from the computer lab and his old habitrail. Unfortunately, he's a fucking asshole who treats his students like crap. Nobody likes him and he deserves it.

Me: I am a perfectly rational person
Me also: Animatronics in water is the scariest thing I have ever fucking seen in my life who the fuck are you EW EW EW
Me 2 hours later, staring at a picture of the original Bertha the Bunyip, rotted and looking like Saladfingers’ ugly cousin which only proves my point about why I hate water animatronics anyway (because they rot and deteriorate) and weeping: My poor baby, what did they ever do to deserve you, how dare they toss you away like garbage, you are the closest thing this earth had to an angel, and we trashed you, this only proves that we don’t deserve the mercy of whatever god created us
Me 1 hour after that, watching videos of the new Bertha with love in my eyes: She really is just the best isn’t she

The original Bert the Bunyip!! As far as we known, there have been three Bert/Bertha animatronics, plus the baby. This one is thought to have been the first, then the one often seen with the baby is thought to be the second, and then, of course, our current Bertha is the third!!
While other mods have referred to the current Bunyip as “Bert”, looking at news articles about the Bunyip from Australia will tell you that Bertha has actually been a girl since 1982, when the baby was introduced!!
Fun fact about our current Bertha: She’s made out of fibreglass, and her tank holds 40,000 litres (10566.882 gallons) of water!!
