Stop Scrolling for a Minute

Step away from your screen.

Eat something. A sandwich, a piece of leftover pizza, yogurt, a granola bar, a candy bar, your favorite food, a "safe" food, something that requires cooking, something that doesn't require cooking, it doesn't matter. Whatever you have on hand.

Good! Now, have some water. Water is boring? Make it an herbal or fruit tea, or add some of those flavor drops to it.

Excellent! Say, when was the last time you had a shower? Go take one. You can sit down or lie down if you want to or need to. But if even that's too much, how about a once-over with a wet washcloth or a baby wipe? Awesome! While you're here, brush your teeth, or at least swish some mouthwash. Look at you, taking care of yourself! No, don't put on those same stinky PJs you've been wearing for days/weeks/months on end. Find some clean ones.

Alright. You're done for now. You can go back to scrolling. Be sure to get some rest in, too.

To be honest I have not read it myself, so I don't know how good it actually is, but I thought I would still share it, since the overview looked really promising 🤗

It's amazing yes! I've read it entirely and have a link somewhere on my blog too but it's always good to post it again because this book is invaluable in terms of information it gives and I've learned a lot from it.

A doodle of how you draw male and female bodies…I’m doing some sketches.

Uhhhhh I’ve never done such a thing before so…here’s my process sort of? I start with a few options which are in red, blue or yellow. The yellow is the actual real curving of how our spines would work but simplified. Or basic shapes in blue, masculine tend to be squared, feminine is rounded or triangular. There’s a ton of body types too, but this is just basic throw together example. Red lines you want to avoid being able totally parallel so that your poses have some dynamics.

This is just stuff I’ve picked up from videos or books or tutorials from other artists…

I wasn’t totally sure what you meant, sorry.
