Listening to this album again to connect to my younger self. Been feeling very flat recently, hard to get any lasting emotions out of myself. Feels a bit like trying to light a spark on damp wood. The emotions I associate with this album are the ones I want to tap into again: hope, desire, awe at the unknowness of the future, laying in bed at night alone feeling giddy about tomorrow, sunshine, spring, excited about growing up and being an adult, possibility. I need to remind myself I have my life ahead of me still. Nostalgia is such a potent feeling, I’m hoping I can use it as an emotional defibrillator. Jump start me back into life.
