Bedford CD Forward Control Van, 1965. A clay model proposal for a cab-over replacement for Bedford's CA van. However the arrival of Ford's Transit precipitated a complete rethink of the project and the more conventional CF was developed instead

The Grand View Ship Hotel on the Lincoln Highway in Juniata Township, Pennsylvania, pictured in 1953, 1963, 1977, 1982, 1999 and 2021.
Construction began in 1927. Building the hotel proved difficult as it required 63 tons of steel, 18 piers drilled down 32 feet to find rock, numerous carloads of lumber and 22 junked car frames, which were used to cover the hotel's exterior.
The Grand View became known for having "one of the most significant scenic views on the North American continent," and boasted that you could see Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Maryland from the hotel's 'deck'. The hotel stayed busy until the 1970s when business declined and owner Herbet Paulson died. At that time, it was sold, rebranded into "Noah's Ark" and eventually closed. The hotel was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997, but after burning down in 2001, it was delisted in 2002.

New Zealand Railways Road Services №2893 [Bedford SBG/NZMB] seen in Silverdale (2022).
One of 1200 Bedford SB chassis purchased by NZRRS, this one was converted to a movan by ???.
Unfortunately for people like me, Omnibus Society records are woefully incomplete and are no longer being updated. They are between 14 and 20 years out of date in many cases. This makes attempting to find information on movan conversions a difficult endeavour.

Milwaukee Road Southeastern
These two shots were made in Bedford, Indiana, on the Milwaukee Road’s so-called Southeastern line. From Chicago, it went due south to Terre Haute, the coal fields of southwestern Indiana, and then over to Bedford, Seymour, and ended at Westport.
The first shot shows a southbound train curving off the Milwaukee Road onto the Louisville & Nashville, former Monon. That’s the wonderful limestone depot of the Monon to the right of the frame. The Milwaukee Road continues eastward, crossing the north-south Monon here. The Milwaukee Road received trackage rights on the L&N (between here and Louisville) when they swallowed up the Monon in 1971.
The second shot shows a yard engine the Milwaukee Road kept on hand in Bedford during this time. As the little plate says on the unit, it’s an EMD GP9. It was built for the road in 1954.
Two images by Richard Koenig; taken January 2nd 1976.
