ik it’s been said by much more knowledgeable people, but marriage for polyamorous people is more important than just representation or equal rights; it’s not just that poly people (and gay people) should be allowed to marry because it’s a symbolic ceremony that straight people get to do— it’s because it’s a LEGAL DOCUMENT giving you express LEGAL RIGHTS to that person’s well-being! it gives you the ability to make decisions for them if they are unable— say; unconscious, unwilling, or dead— it gives you the rights to their property, makes you next of kin guardian for the children you have together, makes it so you can file taxes together, makes it so you have the right to see your partner if something happens and they are confined to a hospital room. and so much more than that!
i feel like it’s so common to shrug off marriage rights for unconventional relationships or families because “it’s just a symbol and title— they can still just hold a wedding if they want to have one! they don’t need to do that to live together and raise children, so just leave it be.” but it’s NOT just a symbol or title. it is a fundamental right to be able to put YOUR future (your children, your estate, your possessions, your life if you’re in a coma) in the hands of people you actually love and trust
how many stories have we heard about trans people buried with their deadname, because the only people legally allowed to handle their funeral were their transphobic parents?
this is why gay people back in the day used to adopt each other. because marriage wasn’t legal and they needed SOME form of recognized protection if anything happened.
and, though i can’t speak much on it, this is also why the laws for disabled married people need to be different.
EVERYONE deserves the right to marry who they want. because marriage is a FUNDAMENTAL right, about CHOOSING who you trust to be legally handling your affairs.
and if who you trust is multiple partners, or even just several of your friends, it should be legal for you to tell the government that.

Isn't it ironic?
There are people who say:
The time has come.
Artificial intelligence is smarter than humans.
And I ask myself:
Which Humans?

Yay for 100 followers!!! I can't wait to watch your blog grow even more.
For your summer party, could I get some headcanons for reader with an IQ one point higher than Spencer’s?
- Gill
Thank you! That means a lot to me!
(Maya's Summer Party)
Reader having a higher IQ then Spencer Reid Headcanons
You would constantly tease Spencer about you being smarter than him
The team (especially Derek) would constantly tease him about it as well
If others ask difficult questions, you and Spencer would both blur the answer out at the same time
Also giving the other a slight bump just so they would stop talking so the other could finish the answer (like a sort competition)
The team getting sometimes crazy being stuck with two geniuses, who would constantly remind them that they are smarter (in a good way)
However the team loves the two of you
Cases would mostly take less time to solve
In your free time, you both would hang out and play difficult quiz games, since you only have each other as serious competition
Would watch movies and both correct the mistakes in it
Always spilling out facts, while trying to come up with one the other doesn't know yet
If you were a couple and would have babies, your kids would definitely be geniuses too

hi, a friendly reminder that if you go out of your way to spread any form of negativity such as harassing, bullying, sending dts, doxxing, fakeclaiming, etc etc to anyone at all about anything that isn't directly breaking laws and can be considered harmless/preference/personal views on life, piece of media, character and whatnot then fuck right off of our blog. we dont have a super set dni, or an intro post (its coming tho, i just wanna find nice userboxes lol), so this is for now your one and only reminder to be fucking normal. there are people on the other side of your screen. you dont know them. if you think sending death threats to people over fictional characters is okay please go outside

I personally feel like transandrophobia tries to group a bunch of distinct experiences, not all of which apply to transmasc people, under one umbrella. Like
You have antitransmasculinity, which is the straightforward hatred of transmasculinity, you have paternalistic transphobia, which is the “oh no you’ll ruin your body! our children are being led astray! You know better than them!” brand of transphobia that transmasculine people get a lot, but can also be applied to afab people who aren’t transmasculine and also to people who are transitioning away from assigned manhood, and then there’s also the misogynistic desire for those deemed feminine to constantly perform femininity, which isn’t only connected to transmasculinity. Antitransmasculinity is absolutely real, as is paternalistic transphobia, as is misogyny, but I feel like transandrophobia doesn’t quite function as a device and also better words exist
yes all of these to me count as seeing women only as pure bodies designed to serve men and reproduction. when bigots say “young women are ruining and corrupting their bodies!” they are not saying that maleness is inferior, they are saying that women should only exist to serve their perfect views of parentage/sexuality and to “defile” their perfect body makes them a “bad woman” (consider how masc women who are still women who want to have kids are treated this same way for turning away from traditional femininity)
in essence turning away from femininity isn’t taboo to them because femininity is Good, it’s taboo because it’s a departure from the Traditional Inherent Roles of Women. which is of course just trying to pigeonhole women / force women to fit their image / take away women’s rights to choose to do things however they want.
which is of course misogyny. with transphobia in there too via not thinking transitions are real/valid
that’s why to me it’s all transmisogyny

how heavy my brain really is
do you guys ever just feel dumb listening to other people talk about their studying techniques?
Like, listening to some of my ~friends~ talk about how they study and their schedules for finals week, i feel lost and like an idiot. i don't have a plan...i dont know exactly how i'm going to feel confident about my physics final, or calculus, or be ready for chem1061.
college has become a huge awakening for me. i'm not as smart as my mom may have made me seem. i'll always be middle of the pack
but that's okay i think i just worry about my gpa and how it may look in the future.

This is called “Scarecrow.” It’s all minimal or very, very maximal.

Experience is crippling...

DP x DC Prompt
The Bats thought they were smart.
Danny, could in fact say they were not with full confidence.
It only took him 3 days in Gotham to figure out their identity, which was not on purpose.
He noticed that everytime Bruce Wayne adopted someone, a new vigilante or Robin would appear.
So yeah, it wasn’t hard for him to figure that out.
They weren’t that smart.
