AN: Here is a master-list for all of my completed or WIP works. I am currently only writing for the Slytherin boys from the fandom Harry Potter. Including Mattheo Riddle, Lorenzo Berkshire, Theodore Nott and Blaise Zabini. Possibly will open up to Draco later on.
Ask are always open. Currently don't do requests, except for the few I have already received. If I open requests up later on, I have the right to not take on any based off personal interest. Also fair warning I can be slow on my writings and have activities outside of writing to attend to.
My works belong entirely to me and should not be redistributed without permission. All characters are aged up, I like to think of Hogwarts as college for them.

BTS of #RWRBMovie: costuming for the Royal ladies
From Newsweek:
Another royal wedding nod is there in the movie with the choice of tiara the fictional Princess Martha wore for her nuptials. The diamond headdress, styled by costume designer Keith Madden, was a replica of the art-deco diamond tiara worn by Meghan Markle on her 2018 wedding day. Queen Mary's bandeau tiara (as it is officially known) was made for Queen Elizabeth II's grandmother in 1932 and was loaned by Elizabeth to Meghan for the duchess' walk down the aisle of St George's Chapel, Berkshire, England, on May 19, 2018.
A stylistic Easter egg hidden by Red, White & Royal Blue's creative team was an item of costume, which has taken on legendary status within the royal fashion sphere as the must-have "princess dress." Designed by British fashion brand, Beulah London, the "Ahana" mid-length dress with statement pleated details, covered buttons and a matching covered belt has been worn by a number of major world royals including Kate, the Princess of Wales. Kate first wore a pale pink version of the dress at the Wimbledon tennis championships in London in 2021, and she rewore it in July 2023 to attend the opening of a new museum. In the movie, the dress is worn by Prince Henry's sister, Princess Beatrice (Ellie Bamber).

SR-71 pilot recalls when a Blackbird buzzed Greenham Common Women’s Peace Camp after protest women threw paint on that very same SR-71
RAF Greenham Common Women’s Peace Camp
In 1981 a group of women, angered by the decision to site cruise missiles (guided nuclear missiles) in the UK, organised a protest march from Cardiff, Wales to RAF Greenham Common near Newbury in Berkshire. Here they set up what became known as the Greenham Common Women’s Peace Camp.

Tumblr media
CLICK HERE to see The Aviation Geek Club contributor Linda Sheffield’s T-shirt designs! Linda has a personal relationship with the SR-71 because her father Butch Sheffield flew the Blackbird from test flight in 1965 until 1973. Butch’s Granddaughter’s Lisa Burroughs and Susan Miller are graphic designers. They designed most of the merchandise that is for sale on Threadless. A percentage of the profits go to Flight Test Museum at Edwards Air Force Base. This nonprofit charity is personal to the Sheffield family because they are raising money to house SR-71, #955. This was the first Blackbird that Butch Sheffield flew on Oct. 4, 1965.
According to Imperial War Museum, between 1981 and 1983 the protesters attempted to disrupt construction work at the base. Their methods included blockading the base and cutting down parts of the fence. In December 1982 more than 30,000 women gathered at Greenham to join hands around the base at the ‘Embrace the Base’ event.

International Air Tattoo (IAT) 1983 was also held at RAF Greenham Common.
youtube
Posted by SR-71 pilot BC Thomas on his YouTube channel, the video in this post shows a Blackbird (flown by Thomas himself with John G. Morgan as RSO) arriving at Greenham Common for the 1983 International Air Tattoo.
Thomas recalls in the video description;
‘I was the pilot in this video, but did not fly the SR-71 out of RAF Greehnam Common. I was the “mobile control” officer when the aircraft departed and the pilot was Maj Jim Jiggens, a USAF Thunderbird pilot and formally a US Army helicopter combat pilot in Vietnam.
Protest women throws paint on SR-71 Blackbird
‘On the evening of the air show featured in this video, women, who were protesting President Reagan’s decision to station intermediate nuclear missiles in England, broke into the security cordon around the air show aircraft and threw paint on several, including this SR-71.
‘Owing to the unique metals associated with the SR-71, the removing of the paint required special maintenance procedures to assure that no “hot spot” would develop on subsequent flights. It was quite a hassle and we were not amused over this incident. Jim and I planned a farewell departure for the protesters who were encamped in a squalor of tents just outside the main gate.
SR-71 Blackbird noise on the protesters at RAF Greenham Common
‘Jim obtained clearance for a “closed pattern” and turned to a downwind leg, descended to about 50 feet above the ground, and flew directly over the protestors’ encampment. It was early and probably most were asleep, but not for long. Jim was flying about 250 knots and selected afterburner in both engines as he was approaching the tents. As the SR-71 accelerated to 350-400 knots, he pulled up and focused the plume (and noise) directly on the protesters. It was a magnificent sight.’

Thomas concludes;
‘As we were leaving the base immediately after Jim’s departure, the gate guard (British) said to me: “I say, that was a jolly good show, but next time, please warn me before you do it.” I also had the honor to prefer charges against the women, but the British government later declined to prosecute.’
Greenham Common today
In 1987 US President Ronald Reagan and Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev signed the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, which paved the way for the removal of cruise missiles from Greenham.
Today Greenham no longer belongs to the military. Part of it is a business park and the rest is common land.

Hey! What about trains appeals to you?
(I'm sorry if you already answered this somewhere else. I couldn't find anything. Please ignore it if you already answered it.)
Hi, sorry for the delay! I had a long reply written out to this ask and Tumblr ate it, and I've been dealing with chronic headaches for the past week.
I don't entirely know what draws me to trains, but I've been drawn to them my entire life. I tend to have a bias towards steam, of course, and in that case the preservation of history is definitely a big part of it for me. Keeping steam locomotives alive and operational to teach history is really important to me, which is why I like supporting heritage railroads when I can. If history is tangible and can be experienced directly, it feels more 'real' and people care more!
Locomotives of all sorts feel like big animals to me, though. Megafauna, more or less. In general, I've always had machine empathy and have generally treated the vehicles around me like they're animals (beloved pets, beasts of burden, etc.), so maybe I take the phrase 'iron horse' a little too literally.
Part of it, too, is that I basically inherited the hobby from my dad.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Left photo is my dad and I in 1993, right photo is my dad and I in 2022. Both were taken at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg.)
My dad is a lifelong railroad enthusiast with a bias for steam too (in particular, he's fond of the Nickel Plate Road's Berkshires), so I spent a lot of my childhood going to places like Strasburg, PA and being around historical trains. There's definitely a family element to it for me.
At any rate, steam captivated me at an early age in particular, because steam felt alive. I was a little kid when the original Thomas and Friends was on TV, of course, but I spent a lot of time around the genuine article growing up, and my dad talked about those locomotives like they were alive. They eat and drink, and they breathe. I briefly rode horses for a couple of years (it's unfortunately an expensive hobby so I stopped), and when I finally drove Strasburg #90 in 2022, it felt more like riding a horse than any car I've ever driven.
Tumblr media
(Me on the throttle of a 106-ton horse, March 26, 2022.)
Ultimately, I can't really narrow it down to one distinct thing - I find the locomotives themselves delightful, I love preserving history, and it's a bonding thing for my dad and I.
And hey, what's not to like? Accessible public transit is important and helps achieve equity, and trains are a big part of that. We can always use more of them.

The Engineer's Thumb
This is our penultimate story from Adventures, with just "The Beryl Coronet" to go.
Holmes doesn't really do much here. He makes one deduction and by the time he gets to the scene, the criminals have fled and don't even get in a shipwreck.
It wouldn't be something Watson would deal with, but injuries and deaths among railway workers were very common at this time; plenty of potential for it in a busy station like Paddington. Public pressure eventually forced action on safety, but not until 1913.
"3d" was a common abbreviation for 3rd.
"Agony column" at the time referred to a section of a paper containing personal advertisements, such as requests for help in finding a missing person. It only later became something where people sort relationship advice.
While there is an Eyford in Gloucestershire, there is none in the former county of Berkshire, which ceased to exist as an adminstrative body in 1998, being replaced by six unitary authorities. Twyford has been suggested as the real location but does not match the later description.
Reading is a large town about 40 miles from London; it can today be reached by train from Paddington in under half an hour, or by a slower ride on the Elizabeth Line. It contains a Victorian replica of the Bayeux Tapestry in the local museum.
Among the uses of fuller's earth was in the film industry to simulate dust and grime, especially in explosions as it's considered safer to cover the actors with. However, concerns about toxicity have led to artificial alternatives like FX Dirt entering the market.
Reading had two stations in remarkably close proximity to each other. The Great Western Railway one linked to Paddington and a terminus built by the South Eastern Railway to the southeast, intended for through services to the Channel ports and services to London Waterloo, which were electrified under Southern Railway ownership on 1 January 1939. Reading Southern as it became known in 1949 was closed to passengers in 1965 with all services diverted into the now-Reading General, which just became Reading in 1974. The old Southern station was demolished, becomng the car park and part of Reading's 1989-built concourse sits on the old western end of it.
India-rubber is another name for latex i.e. the stuff that comes from trees. Synthetic rubber was not created until 1909 and mass production did not begin until the Second World War, when the Japanese seizing the key rubber-producing areas made it a strategic necessity.
Coin counterfeiting continues to this day - the change in Britain to a bi-metallic one pound in 2017 was because over 3% of them in circulation were fake.
Victorian fire engines were much smaller than today's ones, due to limits on the available horsepower. That is because horses pulled them.
