"What's with the cats?" Kaminari asked.

"Oh, look, Shinsou's in a coma," Todoroki remarked blandly, pointing at Shinsou, who was buried under the cats with only his face visible. His pupils were heavily dilated.

"I'm ready to die." Shinsou declared as a tortoiseshell bapped him on the face.

"Mood." Todoroki nodded.

"Oh, uh, Tokoyami found a few strays," Kouda spoke up softly, "And then they, um, gave birth?"

"I have been naming them accordingly." Tokoyami stated, Dark Shadow cradling a few cats in her arms. "In order of birth, there is Jinx, Hex, Curse, Miasma, Anathema..."

Tokoyami continued to list cats with names such as Sacrifice, Effigy, Ritual, and Invocation. Shinsou sank further into the cat pile.

BnHA Ch. 371 leak reactions:

Koda looks badass, which is something I never though I’d say. Also, his quirk evolution is amazing!

SO happy Horikoshi focused on Shoji’s humanity and the personal impact that discrimination had on him rather than on society at large.

And Hori captured it with nuance too — Shoji clearly suffered but he also learned to shift his focus to the things that make him happy (which coincidentally are also the selfless things that help others). It’s a very Buddhist perspective.

Similarly, Shoji has his eye on the next generation already. Big problems can’t be fixed by one person, one class, or even one generation. Long term, consistent, collective effort is the key.

Shoji rescuing a girl from DROWNING, you say?? Reaching out a hand to a child in a river??? Wow, that sure hits on some themes.

Shoji’s backstory also gives more insight to what he told Izuku during the retrieval of “Dark Deku.” After what Shoji has survived, he doesn’t want to be seen as a victim, he wants to be seen as a hero:

Mineta DID call Shoji an octopus after Sero did, but then Mineta called Shoji sexy. Just to clarify :)

Shoji’s speech to Spinner sounds a LOT like what Shoto said to Toya exactly 20 chapters ago! “We know what it feels like to be hurt” = “Dad was a madman! Our family was screwed up” and “Yep, that’s me” = “You’re not wrong about me.” It’s a formula we keep seeing from the heroes in this final arc: Validate the villains as much as possible, and accept their insults with objectivity and grace.

Class A field trip - Shouto edition

Shouto's Class A field trip was an adorable combo of him eating soba everywhere or being cute and oblivious. Here are all his scenes collected in one place:

Day 1:

Shoto and Koda are in Iwate, where Shoto is doing the wanko soba challenge (it's an all you can eat soba tradition).

Day 2

Origin Trio in Roppongi Hills (Tokyo)

I saw JPN fandom commenting that Shoto uses the outdated and somewhat girly term (ズッ友) zuttomo - loosely translated as eternal friends/ bffs. Kirishima may be being flustered as a reference to the SF where Shoto told him that he's not here to make friends.

Day 6:

Shoto's third soba-slurping is in Okinawa (with Endeavor and Kirishima)

🔥: Shoto, how is the soba here? 🍰: Okinawa soba is delicious. 🔥: RIGHT!? SHOUTOOOOOOO!! (happy) 🍰: Quiet. Let me eat.

🦈: 😲

(Okinawa soba is more like ramen than real soba and the noodles are wheat instead of buckwheat.)

I really enjoyed the scenes they chose for Shouto. Endeavor trying to join the field trip was funny. Shouto just eating soba all over Japan is definitely something I can see happen. And it is nice to see how he's friends with everyone and the whole class kind of adores his airheaded comments, misuse of slang and just blunt cuteness.

10/10 for the promo team.
