Season 3, Episode 12 : That Went Well (Season Finale)
"I don't know how to be Diane. It doesn't get better and it doesn't get easier. I can't keep lying to myself saying I'm gonna change. I'm poison. I come from poison, I have poison inside me and I destroy everything I touch. That's my legacy. I have nothing to show for the life that I'd lived and I have nobody in my life who's better off having me."

Hello Everyone, Really, So, I Really Like to Get into this Important Topic Here. Something You Guys should Definitely Want to get into hearing. Really........
So, Some of you know about a Certain Series called Primal, right? A series created by Gennedy Tartavosky(Samurai Jack and Symbiotic Titan) that is Actually Set in the Prehistoric Age where Cavemen, Dinosaurs, and Everything you Might Know are here. The series follows a Caveman you would Call as Spear teaming up abd Partnering with a Dinosaur you would Call as Fang. After their both Experiences in their Tragedies, after their Fearsome Confrontation with Eachother, they two Decided to form a Certain Bond and Team Up with Eachother. And Throughout their own Adventures, they come to understand More About Eachother, encounter Many Dangerous Dinosaurs, abd even some More Dangerous Cavemen. And Throughout their Lives, have encountered Many Things they abd Not Even We All Know About the Prehistoric Life. Like, Really, Alot More. Really, abd Throughout their Adventures, have Only Become More Dangerous, Interesting, and yet, Tragic.
Really, the series is Basically Not Just some Prehistoric Series about Caveman and Dinosaur, But, Also stuff about Witches, Sorcerory, and Really, Alot More Things you would know. Really, aside from stuff like Witches, Curses, Time Travel, Sorcery, there are also Many Things that have been shown that Not Many If You Would Know About Prehistoric Times. Like, Really, as you would know, the series doesn't Just Showcase the Cavepeople abd Dinosaurs we come to Typically Know. But, it Also showcases many things such as Scottish Barbarians, Emperialism, Chinese Emperialism, African Tribes, Slavery, Riches, and even, Really, Most People in those times, despite not speaking as much as they should, Actually Showed More Intelligence and Socialism as they should. So, Really, despite this taken place in Billions of Years Ago in the BC Era, there are Alot More Things that Many People Would Not Know about Pre History. Infact, Alot More when it concerns the Size abd Shapes on how Some Kinds of Humans are like. Like, Ones as Big as THE HULK......Like, Really......
But, Really, when looking into Primal, despite this Actually being made by the guy that brought us Samurai Jack and Symbtioc Titan(Not To Judge. I Really Love Those Series. Like, Who Doesn't.), This series is Actually Alot More Unique compared to the Other Series we All Know and Love. Like, Really, with the handling of tone, structure, Humor, and Everything, Really, this series Actually Handled itself and making it something More of a Certain Genre. The Kind of Genre you see Actually Handled. Like, Really, the kind of handling in genre you haven't seen before like, since, well, Watching Anime. And Really, With That, this is Basically the kind of series that Actually Handles Things Different.
Thing is, in Anime, you Kinda See the Kinds if Stories you would Definitely see in ones like Live Action. Heck, Basically, Anime Is Basically The Live Action Projects you see that are Actually in Japan as you see in The West abd basically Every Other Series in their countries like Britain and What Not. Like, Really. Like with Anime, Really, Primal is Basically the First Animated Project that Actually Let's you do the Kind of Content you would Rarely See in Animation. Like, Really, Tone, Darkness, Gore, Story, Plot, Setting, Etc. Basically, Everything I Could Give. Ones you see in Live Action, but, never got that much of a chance to shine in Animation.
Really, aside from a couple of projects, Animation has Actually been viewed as Vulgar, Comedic, and Full of Vulgar Inappropriate Jokes you see in stuff like Family Guy, The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers, Rock & Morty, Big Mouth, abd Any Other Animated Series we could all list. Everything in Mature Content in Animation viewed as Vulgar Crackpot Comedic Satire. Like ones you see in South Park, Family Guy, Simpsons, Inside Job,  and Many Others. Including mostly Terrible Ones you see in Comedy Central, Fox, and Netflix, Like, Really, Vulgar Ones.
Sure, we have ones that Actually take things to the Limit abd does things in the Mature Content that takes well abd takes Extremes with it's Themed like Rick & Morty, Bojack Horseman, Final Space, abd what not. But, Really, even Despite that, Some are Still looked Down Upon by having people think contents in Animation are just full of Crude Vulgar Humor. And Really, even when some Want to have the Darkest abd Grimmiest Tones like in Final Space and what not, they would Still Actually Have to face the kinds of things by the studio that would have their contents be restricted in it's Need for Humor. Some do it well. But, Others Seem To Know that they Want to Have that Darkest abd Grimiest Tones as the seasons Progressed.
But, Really, With That, Despite All That, Primal seems to be the First Animated Series that would Actually Have the Freedom to do what it Wants and Likes in it's Content. Like, Really,in Everything you see in the Kinds of Anime abd Love Actions you see. Like, Really. And Really, With Primal, having the First Kinds of Restrictions it had Avoided in it's Content, I Like to Talk about the Certain Things that we would Love to see in Animation Later On.
Like, Really, With Primal, Not Only does it give us the kind of content it had Wanted and has Given Us, but, with that, it would Also Likely be able to have us Give the Kinds of series in Animation that we would Love to see. Like, Really, with Gennedy Tartavosky Actually Working on Another Animated Project that involves a Horror Mystery, I would Like to talk about the Possibly of Having Certain Other Projects in it's Freedom of Having these Contents.
Like, Really, Imagine having an animated Project that was mostly a Detective Series that features Mystery, Thriller, Noir, and even Elements of Horror.
Or even a Horror Related Project that would Actually give more Life for the characters abd have the monsters or killers even Threatening, Scarier, abd just leave us Incredibly Fearful than Ever.
Or imagine a certain Love Series ora Rom Com that follows the Typical RomCom Tropes abd Stuff. Even featuring stuff on LGBT.
Not only that, but, Really, Imagine all the other stuff featuring LGBT Content or Content that is Related to LGBT that involves the Main Casts. Certain ones that follow the kinds of times that it would have the Freedom of focusing on.
Really, With That, with the kinds of stuff that they would Actually Focus On, it would Finally Give Animation the Kinds of Freedoms that it would have. And Even have the Ability to have them take more Seriously. To have them Realize that Animation had become abd Always Had Become EVEN MORE CREATIVE THAN EVER.
Like, Really, if Animation Evolves More like how stuff like Primal had Give Us, it Could Give Us the Kinds of Animated Content and Projects that would Could be Asking For. Not Just Stuff that Involves Comedies or just Typical Vulgar Disgusting Humor or even ones they Try to Make as Parodies. Really, it could give them the Kinds of content they need.
Like, Really, If the content is Actually give Freedoms to Animation, they Could Actually Be ok the same leagues and Acknowledgement they have as Video Games, Anime, and even some films.
Like, Sure, we have Adaptations. Ones that were coming from Comics, Games, Books, and, well, Everything Really. But, Really, having some Original Made Animated Series would Actually help them Fully Realize the Content of Animation and their Creativity.
Like, Sure, we have ones like ITSV, Arcane, and Many, Many, Many, MANY Others that Actually Help giving the Way to Content, Animation, Genre, and even LGBT. But, Really, Having Animated Only Content that were Originally Made would Actually Help show that True Content can Still be made and Made into a Very Creative Way. Like, Really.
So, Really, With Stuff like Primal, it has Actually become Such a Miracle into How Animation would Actually be made if it had the Content be made into it's Freedom of Opportunity. Showing that Animation should be made Alot More into the Certain Genres it could be made into their Contents. Like, Really.
Like, Really, I Love ALOT of the Animation. Ones that have made such a Great Inspiration In My Life. Adaptations that Even Made A Much Greater Impact in my life. Crude Vulgar Animated Stuff Included. In Any Contents Made whether it has been made for Everybody, Mature Content, abd even Kids, Animation has Always Made Such a Great and Even Bigger Impact in All My Life As Much As It Did For EVERYONE ELSE. But, Really, With Primal, It Shows Us That, Really, Animation Could be Made for SO MUCH MORE. SO MUCH BETTER into the Kinds of Content and Genres They Could Bring. Bring us something that could be Alot More Unique Compared to Ones you See in Live Action. Really, with the Kinds of Stuff they could Actually Make, Animation could And Should be made Into So Much More.......
But, Really, With That, Any Thoughts Everyone? What sort of Contents and Genres do you Want to See in Animation Later On? What are Some of you Favorite Series and Films? What are some of your Favorite Projects? What are your Thoughts on Primal? What are Some of your Favorite Moments there ok That Series?  Really, Please leave All Your Thoughts on the Comments Below.....

bit out of nowhere but LO Hades reminds me so much to Bojack Horseman idk how to explain it
Oh we've talked about this extensively in the ULO chat circles n such, especially when it comes to the most climactic scene in the show, the second interview:
youtube
The entire tone of the show showcases a very bitter reality with a lot of celebrities and people in power. There are some messed up things that happen throughout the course of the show, but they always feel like they're being used for comedy or brushed under the rug with comedy, because the show is, after all, a comedy. But I feel like that was the point, because it's not until the final season that everything that happened throughout finally catches up to Bojack, and suddenly... it's not funny anymore. There's no punchline. It really reflects just how much people in power don't see their abuse or wrongdoings as "big deals", sometimes they even see it as "just some funny thing that happened", all while the onlookers and victims of their behavior and abuse either become so acquainted with it they don't even see it as abuse anymore until they finally break away from it (Diana, Todd, Princess Caroline, etc.) OR they fight to be heard while the media tries to snuff them out. So then when the consequences finally catch up to them, there are no laughs to be heard, as much as the perpetrator in question may try their best to pass it off as "not a big deal" or believe they shouldn't be held accountable because "it happened a long time ago".
Anyone who sees Biscuits Braxby as the villain here is missing the overall point - Bojack has been responsible for literally ruining people's lives on several occasions, and has never been held accountable.
And yeah, I see a lot of that in LO as well, but the issue is the framing of the story isn't making it clear if it's actually going to have its "Come to Jesus" moment with Hades and Persephone, or if it's just gonna keep celebrating them as the heroes.
There were no consequences for Hades pulling out Alex's eye. They played the resolution out for comedy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There were no consequences for Persephone turning Minthe into a mint plant. They played the scenario out for comedy literally by the end of the very same episode and then well into the next one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There were no consequences for Persephone cornering Tori at his job. The entire thing was played up for comedy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There were no consequences for Persephone raiding Leuce's home. She was rewarded with sex from Hades and it was, you guessed it, played up for comedy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just like with Bojack Horseman, we don't see Hades or Persephone treat these situations as seriously as they ought to. They ultimately don't care how other people feel or how they may be affected by their own actions, they only care about themselves. Just like with Bojack, we see Hades enter sexual relationships with women who are in a much weaker position than him, women who stand to lose far more than he would if the relationship went south.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I need you all to realize that Hades is literally blackmailing her. He is trying to pay her off with a management position or some kind of severance and framing it in such a way to manipulate her into thinking it's 'better' for her that she take the deal, all for the sake of getting her out of the picture because he's with Persephone now. This is blackmail. And the narrative wants us to root for Hades here.)
Shit, I would argue Bojack is still a better character than Hades and Persephone because we 1.) see how the consequences of his actions do affect him on a deeper level (through his anxiety and self-hatred which he spends a long time wallowing in, making his situation worse, rather than seeking help for) and 2.) he actually does eventually start to seek help, but unfortunately there's only so much one person can do to fix themselves when their actions still haven't been brought to justice and their mindset hasn't truly changed; which is what we see in the final part of the show when, despite Bojack's attempts to be a better person, the Sarah-Lynn case catches up to him, and in his final moments up on that stage with Biscuits Braxby, we see his true nature come out - he thinks being an addict should absolve him from what he's done to others.
Sounds familiar, doesn't it? Except replace "addict" with "traumatized" as many of Persephone and Hades' actions are swept under the rug with "they went through trauma so it's fine". Despite the fact that other characters who have also been through trauma aren't given that same grace (Thanatos, Demeter, Minthe, etc.)
You could also go a step further and call out how the fans themselves will defend their actions as "but they're gods!!! gods were terrible all the time in the myths!" but isn't it funny how myth accuracy only ever comes up when it comes to defending Hades and Persephone? Meanwhile you'll never see anyone bring it up when it comes to Apollo SA'ing Persephone, or Hades having an emotional affair with Persephone, or any of the other number of things that Rachel rewrote for her 'retelling'. It's not funny haha, it's funny yikes.
I can only imagine how the fans feel seeing Hades and Persephone called out must be similar to how first-time viewers like myself felt seeing Bojack be put on the cross by Biscuits Braxby - "you're being an asshole, he's working on himself!" "leave him alone!!!" "the media is making a monster out of him!" "he's really not THAT bad!"
But he is. They are. And unlike Bojack Horseman, I unfortunately can no longer have the good faith in believing Hades and Persephone will have their comeuppance, or the people they've hurt will get their retribution. I have no hope that Persephone will see that she's the Sarah-Lynn of the relationship, a girl who was groomed into an abuser at the hands of an abuser, who had no chance of doing better because the person she fell for pulled her down to his level. I don't have any faith in Rachel whatsoever that she'll manage to end this story with any message besides "it's fine for Persephone and Hades to be who they are, because they're rich and powerful and really horny for each other!"
And Hades doesn't think he has any power over women.

Hazbin Hotel sucks
I thought it would be like the room level of awful. (so bad it's amazing) no, it's just awful.
Wrong Casting for Val, Vox and Husk to an amusing level, but just like Viv's jokes, it stops being funny after a few minutes and becomes grating to the soul. All of the VA sounds like they are being held hostage, or were giving no real direction.
The songs are tolerable at best and unfathomably useless and insufferable at worst because Viv doesn't seem to understand how musicals work. Songs are supposed to advance the plot or give us a different view of our characters, not repeat what we already know for the fifth time.
The characters are just unlikable, now before you say "But Hopper it's hell of course they're unlikable assholes." Let me point you to a show that me and Viv love Bojack Horseman, the main character is an awful person, but he is still charismatic to the audience. The HH cast aren't funny or endearing, some of their struggles are relatable, but they aren't relatable characters. Also, Bojack is held responsible for his actions, In the finale season everything in his past comes back to bite him and he ends up just like his abusive mother alone, the series doesn't try and paint him in a UwU soft boy with trauma, but a man with serious issues who never really tried to improve himself.
Just because i'm petty, Viv your womem characters are still taking a back seat to the men. Just because Charlie sings and talk doesn't mean it's female led.
Stop with the colour red Vivienne, it physical hurts, and my brain is getting overstimulated with all the red, pinks, and blacks. Also, it all mashes together, kind of like a tuna sandwich, all different shades of beige.
That's it for now, the next post will be about the inappropriate way this show handles mature subjects.
Oh and as always everyone of you look amazing, and I hope that I made your day just a little bit more entertaining.

Helluva Boss: A Show For "Mature" Audiences That Isn't Very Mature
Something that's very funny to me is how Helluva Boss is an adult show, meaning that its supposed to be mature, and more mature than a kids show. However, the show really isn't that mature when you really think about it; sure, it's supposed to be viewed for mature audiences, and It by no means is for kids at all but...HB is really just the superficial version of mature. The show constantly crams in gore, swears and sex jokes all the damn time as a way to just appear edgy. It's not mature as in "it has mature and deep messages and themes" its the superficial version of mature, the type of mature that's just "let's shove in a bunch of swears and sex jokes into this show so people can KNOW its for adults!".
The show feels like its trying so damn hard to be edgy and crams swears and sex jokes into its dialogue because its an "adult" show. 70% of the dialogue in this show is awful because of the amount times it feels the need to shove in swears and sex jokes into every single line the characters say. It feels like the show is just..trying to be edgy with no substance to it. The only really mature theme HB has is Stolas's sexual desires for Blitz...but now its just completely dropped as Stolitz is suppoused to be seen as a healthy reletionship for some reason.
A majority of the villains are very one-dimensional Saturday morning cartoon villains too. HB feels like a show that's just overly obsessed with being edgy so it can come across as "mature". And while you can technically say that HB is mature as the show isn't exactly for kids and is aimed towards adults, again, its only the superficial version of mature, the show isn't really that mature in terms of its actual writing.
But here's the REAL kicker here; the shows I primarily enjoy watching are kids shows on Disney Channel, and...well, lets take a look at the themes and messages of these shows aimed towards kids that I've seen, shall we?
Gravity Falls: Tells a story about growing up, and how, while growing up may seem hard, you don't have to grow up alone, and that even when you grow up, that doesn't mean you have to let go
Amphibia: Tells a story about three girls who are all heavily flawed people in a toxic friendship. Ends with a message about change and how while it may be hard, sometimes; things change, and you need to accept that.
The Owl House: Tells a story about a girl who was ostracized for her whole life who was able to make real connections with others and find a place where she truely belongs.
Ducktales: Has an old man rediscover the value of family after pushing away his loved ones after losing his niece
Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur: Has an episode where the main message is that you should stand up for your community, and how you can make your voice be heard no matter what.
The Ghost and Molly Mcgee (SPOILERS FOR THE FINALE): Final episode has a beautiful and mature message about how you should spend your life to the fullest, take risks and not be afraid or play it safe, and has a character go and spend his life to the fullest when he becomes human again
These "kids shows" have more mature and thoughtful messages and themes as well as better writing than this "adult" show. Helluva Boss has me groaning and getting frustrated at all the bad writing and wasted potential in its second season. Meanwhile, Amphibia's second season almost gets me to cry not once, but twice. These shows have more compelling and nuanced characters than HB, they don't constantly try to coddle them and absolve them of their mistakes, rather for some of them, they make the characters actually grow as people, something HB has NOT done at all.
Helluva Boss is an adult show, yet these kids' shows not only have more nuanced characters than it, but they are also unironically more mature than HB despite being shows targeted towards a younger audience. Its extremely funny to me how Viv said that HB is "Bojack Horseman with demons" when HB is less mature than kids' shows that aired on the Disney Channel.
Helluva Boss isn't a mature show, it's just an overly edgy one.

hi friend you're a video essay enjoyer i believe do you have any recommendations people and or videos? need somethin interestin to listen to while tryin to draw
HELLO FRIEND ok so skipping over the obvious popular ones (victorious, roblox oof, defunctland in general, my house.wad, etc) some of my favorites are:
The Downward Spiral of Watching Velma: one that i only found recently, a lengthy deep dive into the shitty hbo velma show so that u don’t have to watch it
How SunnyV2 Ruined Video Essays: also one i found recently, a shorter one which provides a meta analysis of video essays on youtube, also got me back into video essays tbh
How Sponegbob Explored Existential Nihilism: VERY short one (under 10 minutes) but actually neat
I Found Every OSHA Violation in FNAF Security Breach: there are so fucking many
The Biggest Cheater in Clone Hero History Was Finally Caught: honestly it’s been a rocky past couple weeks for the CH community bc just recently Multiple big name players have admitted to cheating so like calling this person the biggest cheater might not even be accurate anymore but like. still a rlly good watch
Bojack Horseman Full Series Retrospective: if you want lengthy here it is (almost 6 hour analysis of every season)
Disney Trash Can Tier List: not rlly a video essay at all however it’s such a random tier list to make and it’s delightful
Dream (Market) - The Infiltration of the Dark Net: literally an insane fucking story one of my absolute favorite barely sociable videos bc the whole story is just so fucking wild
The Dark Side of the Silk Road: one of my other favorites from barely sociable
Explaining: This House Has People In It: one of my favorite youtubers providing a complete analysis of my favorite arg/analog horror project HIGHLY recommend this one btw
DHMIS Explained: another from the same youtuber, but this time with defunctland style production (before defunctland started having these vibes. honestly maybe a little the other way around given this is 6 years old)
Fear of the Deep: nexpo is the third of my horror/unsettling internet history trifecta that i watch in this list (barely sociable, night mind, and nexpo my beloveds), this one was made just before oceangate, but talks about a few different projects that focus on. ig a fear of the deep really
