"What do you mean we have to share a bed?" Roger screeched, extremely offended that he was going to have to share a bed with Brian.

"I'm very sorry sir. It appears the reservations have been mixed up." The bellman replied quietly, hoping not to offend the angry blond man anymore.

"Rog, is it really that bad?" Brian asked, feeling a bit hurt at Roger's reaction.

"I mean, it could be worse. It could be Freddie! But I'd still rather not share a bed with any of my bandmates!" Roger huffed, crossing his arms and scowling at the bellman.

"Once again I am very sorry sir, but there is nothing we are able to do now. We will offer you both free room service as compensation." The bellman replied, twisting his hands nervously.

"Fine, fine. At least it's only two nights." Roger grumbled, turning to unpack his luggage. The bellman took that as a sign to leave and apologised once more before quickly fleeing.

"Did you really have to make such a big scene Roger?" Brian asked carefully, trying not to upset the drummer anymore.

"Of course I did! This is really annoying!" Roger crossed his arms and glared at Brian, causing the guitarist to shrink back into himself.

"I promise I'm not bad." Brian offered meekly.

"You'd better not be. If there was space I would just sleep on the floor, but our management has to choose the smallest rooms possible." Roger grumbled, continuing to unpack everything he would need for a two night stay.

"I wouldn't let you be uncomfortable. We can make a barrier between us with pillows or something if you're really that worried." Brian sighed, accepting the fact that Roger obviously didn't tolerate him as much as he thought.

"No, no I'm sorry that I'm being stingy. I just hate sharing a bed with someone unless it's.. y'know.." Roger trailed off, not wanting to make things awkward.

"Sexual. Yeah." Brian filled in the blank and started to unpack his own clothes. Roger hid his blush in his suitcase. It was something about Brian, the most innocent person he knew, saying the word 'sexual' that made him feel a bit tingly. He wasn't sure what it was, but he just put it off as embarrassment.

"Yeah. I don't know, we'll see how it goes. It's not you, Bri, I promise." Roger replied, feeling bad that it had come off as though it was Brian that was the problem.

"Don't worry, Rog. If it happens again then I'll sleep on the floor if you're not comfortable with sharing a bed." Brian proposed, walking over to the small bathroom to put his toothbrush and other things he would need inside the little cupboard.

"No, no. I'd have to sleep on the floor because it would be me being awkward. And besides, you're far too tall." Roger scoffed, hanging the last of his clothes up in the wardrobe.

"Fine, but hopefully it won't happen anyway." Brian compromised, smiling at Roger. He received a smile back and that was all he needed to know that Roger wasn't mad at him.

After the show

"I'm so tired, I'm gonna go back to the room." Brian yawned as the four of them stood in the dressing room, sweaty and sticky after their show.

"Me too, actually. I need a night off from the drinking." Roger agreed, much to the surprise of his three bandmates. No-one said anything though, as they didn't want to upset the blond. He'd been a bit cranky and it was blamed on lack of sleep and too much drinking.

"Alright." Brian replied, stripping out of his stage outfit and dabbing himself dry with a towel. Roger found himself distracted by Brian's lithe body, and he couldn't stop staring at the way Brian's muscles flexed as he moved. Shaking himself out of it, he told himself that he was really tired and he definitely wasn't still thinking of the way Brian's firm shoulders looked -

No. He cut his train of thought before he could go any further on it and discover something about himself that he perhaps didn't want to. He took his own stage wear off and changed into something far more comfortable. Plain jeans and a t shirt.

"Ready Rog?" Brian's voice brought him back to reality and he nodded, checking that he had everything with him.

"Yeah. Have a good evening guys!" Roger waved goodbye to his bandmates and followed Brian out of the dressing room. They walked in comfortable silence back to the hotel, which took about 10 minutes.

"Are you still ok with sharing a bed? I will sleep on the floor if you're not. You need some good sleep." Brian broke the silence.

"No, Bri, I promise it's okay. You need sleep as well, I know about your trouble sleeping. It's only two nights." Roger assured his friend, patting Brian's arm to show his sincerity.

"Okay. I'm going to have a quick shower before we go to bed." Brian told the blond, who nodded.

"Me too, you go first though." Roger said, and Brian nodded. Their conversation didn't start up again as they walked to their room.

"Right, I'll only be a few minutes." Brian called as he stepped into the bathroom and closed the door. Roger sat on the bed and pulled his shoes off, placing them neatly under what he had claimed as his side of the bed. He soon heard the shower turn off and Brian stepped out of the bathroom wearing only a very small towel. It was wrapped tightly around his waist and as Brian stretched it slipped down a little, revealing Brian's abdomen. Roger couldn't stop staring, but luckily Brian was distracted with drying his hair. The violent action of rubbing his hair only caused the towel to slip down further, and the water drops glistening on Brian's lower stomach made Roger re-consider everything about himself.

"I'm gonna shower now." He cleared his throat before he spoke, willing his eyes to stay away from Brian's stomach. The guitarist looked up at him and nodded with a smile, his flattened hair sticking to his forehead. Roger found the sight endearing, but he stopped his thoughts again before he could say something stupid. He went into the bathroom and shut the door, breathing out a sigh of relief. He didn't know what was happening to him, all that he knew was that he found himself suddenly attracted to his best friend. He shook his head and stepped into the shower, the warm water immediately giving his aching muscles relief. With nothing to distract him, his thoughts wandered back to Brian. He thought of Brian's sexy form with the towel slipping below his waist, threatening to reveal what Roger so desperately wanted to see.

He sighed at himself before climbing into bed next to his bandmate.

(I've thought of two endings for this. Ending one is cute and innocent, and I'll write that below here. Ending two is smutty and I'll write it below ending one.)

Ending one

"Hey." Brian greeted absentmindedly, still absorbed in his book.

"Hey. What are you reading?" Roger asked, scooting closer and looking over Brian's shoulder.

"Ah, just something about magnetohydrodynamics." Brian replied as if it was nothing.

"I'm sorry?" Roger spluttered, dumbfounded.

"Magnetohydrodynamics." Brian repeated, finally raising his eyes from the book and looking at Roger.

"What the fuck is-" Roger started to speak, but was interrupted by a loud clap of thunder. He screamed and jumped, immediately hiding his face in Brian's shoulder.

"Rog?" Brian put his book down and tapped Roger's arm that was currently wrapped around his own arm.

"Brian. I'm scared of thunder." Roger whimpered, huddling closer to the guitarist.

"Oh." Was all Brian could reply with. How Roger had managed to keep that a secret was beyond him, but he wasn't going to judge.

"Would you like me to read to you?" Brian offered. Roger whimpered in response as another clap of thunder resounded around the hotel room. It was close enough to make the windows rattle, and Roger felt tears spring to his eyes from embarrassment. Brian freed his arm from Roger's clutches, and wrapped it around the drummer's shoulders instead, keeping him close.

"Shh, Rog. It'll pass." Brian spoke softly, his voice calming the blond a little. Roger stuffed his face into Brian's chest and wrapped his arms around the older man's waist. Brian didn't seem to mind and only stroked Roger's shoulder comfortingly.

"Please read to me." Roger mumbled into Brian's breast. Brian didn't hesitate and used his free hand to balance the book on his legs before starting to read.

"Magnetohydrodynamics is the study of the magnetic properties and behaviour of electrically conducting fluids. Examples of such magnetofluids include plasmas, liquid metals, salt water, and electrolytes." Brian read, his voice soothing. Roger immediately relaxed a little, but squeaked loudly when another clap of thunder shook the windows. Brian wasn't phased and continued reading.

"The fundamental concept behind magnetohydrodynamics is that magnetic fields can induce currents in a moving conductive fluid, which in turn polarizes the fluid and reciprocally changes the magnetic field itself." Roger listened intently, trying to understand. He didn't really get it, but Brian's voice was calming him down nonetheless. Every clap of thunder was making him tense up less and less, until the sound didn't phase him at all.

"In many magnetohydrodynamic systems most of the electric current is compressed into thin nearly-two-dimensional ribbons termed current sheets. These can divide the fluid into magnetic domains, inside of which the currents are relatively weak. Current sheets in the solar corona are thought to be between a few meters and a few kilometers in thickness, which is quite thin compared to the magnetic domains, which are thousands to hundreds of thousands of kilometers across. Another example is in the Earth's magnetosphere, where current sheets separate topologically distinct domains, isolating most of the Earth's ionosphere from the solar wind." Brian stopped reading when he realised Roger didn't seem to be scared anymore.

"Better?" He asked, still rubbing Roger's shoulder sweetly.

"Yes, thank you so much." Roger replied, removing his face from Brian's chest. They locked eyes and something new passed between them. They didn't speak, but both moved closer until their lips met softly.

"I've wanted to do that since forever." Brian whispered, still holding Roger close.

"It's lucky for you that I realised after the show that I'm attracted to you then." Roger said cheekily, a grin slowly spreading across his face. Brian looked surprised but he only brought Roger into another kiss.

Ending 2 - NSFW warning

Brian put his book down as Roger clambered in next to him.

"Ready to sleep now?" He questioned, and Roger nodded with a yawn.

"Yeah." He replied, pulling the covers up and over himself, settling into the bed. It was surprisingly comfortable for the quality of hotel that their management insisted on booking them. Brian leaned over to place his book on the nightstand before flipping off the lights. The room was plunged into darkness, and Roger found himself easily slipping into sleep.

However, he was awoken by something he was never expecting to hear. Brian was writhing around and groaning. Roger's eyes snapped open, and he was glad that the curtains were shitty enough to let the moonlight in. In the pale light, he could see Brian's face covered in a sheen of sweat. Was he having a nightmare?

"Oh..that's it.." Brian moaned, rocking against the bed. Not a nightmare. A wet dream. Roger sucked in a breath and felt his cock stir with immediate interest. story time!

i made this sideblog about three years ago to start posting fanfic for the borhap/queen fandom. i held a lot of shame in writing fic at the time, and because i had irl friends who followed my main, i wanted to keep the spaces separated. in those three years, i wrote thousands of words, stumbled upon a passion for gif-making, and met lots of amazing friends (some of whom i just got to spend time with irl!).

but i feel like it's time to let this sideblog go, for a few reasons 1) my passion for gif-making has extended outside of the borhap/queen fandom. i have lots of movies and shows i want to gif and i feel locked in to only posting jq/borhap/queen content on this blog. 2) because i've been keeping the posts on here curated to just jq/borhap/queen, i haven't been rbing the lovely edits that folks have been tagging me in outside of those fandoms. and 3) running a sideblog is a pain in the ass.

so i'm gonna be moving over to my main! don't worry - i won't be deleting this blog, i will be simply archiving it.

How many works do you have on ao3?

Apparently 74! I'm not sure how that's possible but okay! Not what I was expecting. That's like twice as many as I thought.

What's your total ao3 word count?

2,178,053

What fandoms do you write for?

The works that I have posted on AO3 are for Bohemian Rhapsody Actor RPF, BoRhap/Queen, Ted Lasso, 13 Reasons Why, Teen Wolf, 6 Underground, Midsomer Murders, and Shazam. Pre-AO3, I wrote in a lot of other ones. Hypothetically, I write for Gran Turismo, but I've never finished any of those fics lol.

What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

1. I'm breathing in the chemicals (Teen Wolf) 2. and you know you don't have to go (Ted Lasso) 3. Fear and Self-Loathing in Beacon Hill (Teen Wolf) 4. you're the sunflower (Ted Lasso) 5. into the blue and sunny morn' (BoRhap Actor RPF)

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Yes, absolutely! I appreciate when people comment and I like the interaction.

What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I try not to have angsty endings! All my angst is sprinkled throughout the story (maybe more than sprinkled lol) and then they get a happy ending.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Since most of my fics have happy endings, I don't know what the happiest of the happy endings would be. Probably a fic in the ITBASM-universe, because I tried to make them all very happy (they deserved it).

Do you get hate on fics?

I did get a couple hateful anons on here in my day but they didn't stick around. Thankfully I've avoided much of that (knock on wood).

Do you write smut?

I do, I do. All M/M, though for my original NaNo story I'm apparently going to be attempting M/F and idk how that's gonna go lol.

Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

I've written two 6 Underground x Midsomer Murders crossovers because Ben and Gwil.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I'm aware of! I hope not.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

I'm also not sure I'm aware of any.

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I have not! I'll be honest that I really don't know how it works and I'm kind of a solitary creature in that regard. so, I don't know that it would be my vibe.

What's your all-time favorite ship?

Everrrrrr? Oh my gosh I don't know if I could pick. According to my AO3 bookmarks, apparently it's Joe/Nicky from The Old Guard but I don't think so (and for the most part I avoid that fandom these days). I don't know, ever???? I still can't decide. I'm too finicky. I will say that a ship that I will always love and I go forever without reading and then I'll be in that mood again is Eggsy/Harry from Kingsman. Like, they're the old stalwart.

What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Probably those Gran Turismo fics I mentioned above.

What are your writing strengths?

I would say dialogue but I don't know if anyone would agree. I find it the most fun, so I enjoy it.

What are your writing weaknesses?

I don't know how to describe what people look like, because 99.9 of stuff I write is fanfic and readers already know what those characters look like, so that whenever I attempt anything original, I don't know how to naturally include some idea of "this person has brown eyes and is very tall." I see it done so badly sometimes and I just try to avoid that.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I have done it before sparingly. Different languages, I know fics I've done have included French, Spanish, Dutch, German, and Arabic. For most of them, I use Google Translate. for the Arabic, I watched YouTube and tried non-Google Translate sources. for the French, some of it I knew myself and wrote it as I know it (I am not fluent in French). I would never write an entire fic in another language but I think including other languages is fun and rounds out the characters.

First fandom you wrote for?

Probably shockingly, it was Friends. A friend and I wrote it together in the fifth grade. Handwrote it, actually. We had a notebook that we passed back and forth.

Favorite fic you've written?

Overall, every ITBASM fic because it's like, my universe, my world, my characters, and it covered so much time (and space, ha). I don't know that I could pick an individual fic.

I don't know if this is actually true but there's been a couple of films now that have apparently had the same plot as One Direction fanfic that went viral.

So here's a question for writers.

If one of your fics was going to be made into a film, which fic would you want it to be and which actors would you want playing the roles?

I think I'd want The Closer The Knit to be made into a film, and oh how convenient, the BoRhap boys could reprise their roles!

I'M BACK. Life swept me away but I'm slowly listening to the eps I'm missing. Just finished the BorRap ep and I have some thoughts. First of all, I think that movie is terrible. It's bad. I saw it in theatre with my friends and I walked away thinking, eh-whatever. But I have to give the movie some merits because it did pull me in starting from the second act and I was very hyped when the First Aid scene came on. However, it's definitely super mid, verging toward terrible. So, secondly, imagine my fucking surprise when it was nominated for Best Picture. I was like, haha this is a prank, only to check the official website and see it there. HOLY shit, my jaw hit the floor. Did the US run out of movies that year for Best Picture???? Like, was there really no other movies that can take BorRaph's spot????? I had a moment just staring at the screen of my laptop and felt like I was in the Twillight Zone. (I can see Rami being nominated for Best Lead Actor tho, he was really good so I understand the nomination)

Thirdly, I caught wind of the BorRap fandom. I was taking a break from tumblr then, but it was kinda growing on twitter, that even tho I was in a very very different fandom space, I heard about it. Now hearing what I'm hearing from the podcast, quite eye-opening lmao. Like, when you discussed the fanfics... I was screaming in my head hahahahaha

Fourth, I have seen the 911 BoB/TP fic... and just not gonna click on it. Life's too short and all that.

it's especially egregious given the fact that that year was so stacked with movies that were Literally eons better than Bohemian Rhapsody. i was Literally just yelling about how that was supposed to be the year of BlacKkKlansman and instead it got double teamed by both Greenbook and BoRhap and it's truly the most disappointing shit in the world. like we can make the case rami Was the best performance in the category at the oscars but idek if I believe that anymore, given the fact that Vice was a movie i detested and Bale was still acting circles around Rami like staring wide-eyed at shit for two hours straight. not to Mention Bradley Cooper, who campaigned way too hard for Best Director when had he focused harder on trying to get Best Actor he would have been a shoo-in, and A Star is Born is Regrettably a movie that gets better every year in a way that BoRhap decidedly does not.

the globes are a joke at the best of times so the wins that night were pretty alright, but that Best Picture win and then subsequent oscar nom are just.....that chaps my ass my dudes. whole ass movie could have been written on a cocktail napkin like Showgirls (which is actually Way more fun to watch than BoRhap) 😘💃

and in regards to That 9/11 fic.....stay tuned lol

the fanfic writer's struggle between "this media doesn't entirely lend itself to fanfic and I don't want to be seen as one of those people that only views media as a set of characters to be shipped together" and "I consider myself a serious writer and I have an idea that could really add another layer of dimension to this story/character, and I really want to write it"

was gonna put this next bit in the tags but it got too wordy so

It's like. some media is very easy to write fanfic for. superhero movies. star wars. action movies. things like that. It's not that these movies can't have important or strong messages, or that the fanfic can't also have genuine presence as a piece of writing, but the nature of it makes it much easier to build off of and even, sometimes, improve with a well-written fanfic

and there's some media that I would never consider writing fanfiction for at all. historical movies and biopics jump to mind. I mean, I love Bohemian Rhapsody, and y'all know I find Ben Hardy incredibly attractive, but I wouldn't ever write a BoRhap fic because Roger Taylor is a very real living person with his own history, and it feels disrespectful to fanfic-ize that.

But there's this gray area that I struggle with, where the media has enough richness and depth to its messages to make me want to explore them, but is genuine or serious enough for the prospect of writing fanfiction about it to feel almost disrespectful. I have an idea based on the Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires that would expand on the themes of subtle abuse and domestic misogyny that the book talks about, but I'm afraid if I wrote it people might see it as falling into the same trap as the book itself warns about (i.e. people being willing to ignore a person's misgivings/crimes just because they're attractive), even though the fic is meant to expand on these themes rather than ignoring them.

And it's hitting me again after I watched the Last Voyage of the Demeter. It's right in the sweet spot where it's like... I have a cool idea that I think would work with the setup of the universe and themes, and would be consistent with the characters and potentially even provide a bit more depth/backstory to characters who otherwise aren't given much, but the tone of the movie is just serious enough where it feels wrong to say 'hey look I wrote fanfic about this'

#and i'm not saying all fanfic has to be 'serious writing' i just mean in the context of these specific ideas #i guess it's just that my main interest as a writer is to explore interesting characters #interesting characters have strong themes. but strong themes sometimes mean 'if you write about this it'll get misinterpreted'#idk. sometimes i like to do genuine media analysis through the lens of ocs and fanfic and that's hard on the no reading comp website

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

None of my fics have angsty endings! I’ll do all the angst in the story itself, I’ll make them cry and be angry and break up and whatever but there’s gotta be a happy ending.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

When all the endings are happy, it’s kind of hard to compare, but probably a new life grows. It was the last part of ITBASM so its ending had to some up years of me writing and years of their fictional lives and put them all in a fantastic place.

Do you write crossovers?

I wrote a couple Midsomer Murders x 6 Underground fics.

Have you received hate on a fic?

I’ve gotten some rude anons. I didn’t realize until I was almost done posting ITBASM (the original story) that I didn’t have asks open on here. I imagine I would’ve gotten a lot of hate about one chapter if I had. Back when I was first posting fanfic (like, almost twenty years ago) I found out that people in some private group were making fun of a fic that I’d posted. that was great.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I certainly do. For the longest time, just m/m, and that’s all I’ve ever posted. But for my original novel I’m working on now, it’s my first m/f and it is an experience lol I find it more awkward to write at times but it’s fun too. I’ve had to get used to writing wet a lot. And clit. And cunt. A whole new world!

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of!

Have you ever had a fic translated?

Also not that I know of.

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No. I find it hard to comprehend writing as a team event.

What’s your all-time favorite ship?

I genuinely don’t think I could ever pick. There are so many I’ve read over the years. Some I will never touch again, some I will probably still be reading on my death bed lol. Favourite ever??? No way.

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

I wrote a 6 Underground fic with Four and Seven that had a couple parts. I intended it to have another, but I don’t think that’s going to happen.

Same with the Midsomer Murders x 6 Underground fic (I guess I gave up on Four lol), I still have the exact scene that I want to write in my mind, I picture it, but I doubt it will ever go anywhere. Unless I just write that one scene.

What are your writing strengths?

I love writing dialogue so I hope it’s a strength. Also, way too much research and detail and background stuff that will never make it onto the page, it’s just for me.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Overwriting, and flat description, A couple years ago I took a writing course and I submitted the first chapter of a fic I had written (one name changed lol), and they really hated it and it was really demoralizing. They said it read more like a screenplay instead of a book because there was no emotion, no thought, it was just “he did this and this and this.” I’ve tried improving since then, I hope I have.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I have done it! to varying levels of success. I wish I knew Egyptian Arabic so I could have included it more in ITBASM. I only ever include small bits in other languages, and I don’t bother to translate. I assume based on context people can figure it out or check for themselves.

What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Friends, in the fifth grade. it was handwritten in a notebook, which is possibly still somewhere in my parents’ house, but not with me.

What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?

I would still like to finish one of my Gran Turismo fics but I don’t know if that will happen.

What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?

ITBASM as a whole. I know that by the end I was pretty much doing it for me and a handful of other people and I don’t know if it’s as good as it could’ve been but I felt really proud of it and what I did manage to accomplish. It felt more mine than other fics I’ve written.
