Hello hello! I doubt many of you are still around, but! I was wondering if anyone would be interested in role-playing with me? I would love to write John against anyone or Roger against Brian? Message me or like this if you're interested!
Soooo, I haven't drawn in an eternity, and my time management is quite something these days 😅🤣. I still wanted to do a little thing for @femqueenweek , so here's my humble contribution 😚✨Brianna and Joan being sweet together, Regina, 80s Freddie, and a scribble of a van for the Road Trip AU I'm still hoping to write.
Thank you @ronniesshoes and @ivyyflowers for organising this event! 🥰
Recently life has been a little chaotic, but chaos isn’t always bad chaos can bring so many new ideas or people into your life. My family is really chaotic but the good kind where everything is happening all at once and you need a second to breathe but you gotta jump back in because of all the love and play. Sadly this is not the chaos I’m experiencing and this past week I had on of my first rounds of finals before my AP testing and some of my loved ones are staring to feel left behind, this chaos and stress is the kind where you need a good cry and a pint of Ben and Jerry’s to drown out your thoughts.
In this case my breath was a morning with this lovely lady before our AP Biology review session. This is us getting slurpees from 7–Eleven in baking tins. Later we washed our cars and spent the day outside. I can’t stress enough how important having others around you who support you unconditionally and love you just the same.
Opinions on each of the Queen ships involving Brian? (Maycury, Maylor, Breaky)
I assume you're asking for my opinion on these ships in the context of RPF? The thing is I rarely ever consume slash RPF, and I have really weird and specific prerequisites for the RPF I do consume. I have my own fixed headcanons and in terms of RPF, I can't really read fics that do not coincide with my hcs, if that makes any sense.
Maycury: They have so much potential in terms of storytelling, and in a lot of ways, they're my favourite Queen ship. I love their relationship dynamics, how much they cared for and about each other, how comfortable they were in each other's space, how in sync they were with one another. They are the power duo, the Stage Husbands. I love their matching Zandra Rhodes outfits, black and white nails and the fact that they had this mutual understanding and magical partnership in music. Brian was Freddie's Jimi Hendrix, the vehicle of his music and Freddie was/is Brian's muse and inspiration. However, I could only read Maycury fics in circumstances of unrequited love. That excludes established relationship, endgame/good endings, growing old together, etc. The only Maycury fics I could find myself reading will be filled to the brim with angst and pining (mutual or one-sided).
Maylor: I love this pair. They are on the opposites of the spectrum in so many ways, but they have learned to love the differences between them. They are the Sun and the Moon, and they know it. They love each other but won't ever admit it, except in dire life and death situations. Technically, Maylor is the ship I am probably most comfortable with reading. But the only circumstances I could read Maylor in are slow burn fics with pining from either one or both parties and they could only ever get together in the 2000s and beyond. Basically @bye-bye-miss-american-pie's 50 years slow burn fic that only exists in her mind. So, sorry, no cute college years Maylor for me lol
Breaky: I don't have one absolute fixed idea about how Breaky should be in fiction, so I'm actually more flexible with what I'm comfortable with reading. I think there is a lot of underlying mutual respect and admiration for one another in these two, despite their differences. Looking at their actual interactions and what they've said about each other, it seems they get along well, better than what a lot of people seem to think. That 1985 Japanese interview with only the two of them is actually so adorable, they were both very giggly. And when we do actually see them both on stage near one another, they were so very in sync - they are an understated guitar duo! I don't really like the enemies to lovers trope and I never saw Brian and John as "enemies" anyways, but I think there is a lot of potential for both cute fluff and angst with the miscommunication trope.
