Why is it that whenever there’s a wlw ship, it’s always the same two people in slightly different fonts?
On the left of each we have the dumbass jock, and on the right the often wealthy book and/or street smart gf who’s always 1000 gayer than their significant other.
And why is the dumbass one ALWAYS the main character? It doesn’t even matter if it’s canon or not. Like how did that happen?
Something's been bothering me since S03E07 and this shot
and the way that Trent's little finger is sticking up.
So, when I did my rewatch last week I looked at every time Trent was holding his glasses (and his mug in S3):
Series 1
Series 2
Series 3
Not once does he hold anything with his finger sticking up EXCEPT in the episode where Ted talks about soulmates being connected by a string attached to their little fingers...
AND HE IS POINTING AT TED. We specifically get a shot from behind Trent showing this.
I'm feeling completely insane about it (thank you for asking).
When Jamie asks" "what's with the red string?" IT CUTS STRAIGHT TO TRENT.
Oh, and what is Trent wearing around his wrist? A THIN RED BRACELET THAT LOOKS LIKE STRING.
"it's cAnOn tHaT aNdErs aPprOvEs oF gIviNg bAcK fEnRiS"
My good bitch, we all know that was some absolute out of pocket bullshit that didn't actually make sense. And don't try and argue with me WHY it does because for as much as those two idiots clash, never in a million years would a FORMER CIRCLE MAGE POSSESSED BY A SPIRIT OF JUSTICE ever condone selling a slave back to his former master. Seriously, what the fuck are you smoking to think that is in line with Anders' character?
Also, need I hone in on another point: who's the one to propose the idea to begin with? Is it Anders? Nope. Is it Varric? Incorrect. How about Aveline or Isabela? Negatory.
It's Hawke. Well, really it's the player, but we are playing as Hawke. So who is the bigger asshole in that situation? Anders who gives a measly +5 approval for some fucking reason, or HAWKE who says oh lemme get that coin and lose some dead weight at the same time (you're not actually dead weight Fenris ilu)?
Why doesn't anyone ever talk about that? Because it's much easier to shit all over Anders, a mentally ill man with serious character flaws yet still devotes his entire self to running a free clinic in the poorest part of the city day in and out, who is also helping run an underground liberation movement for the mages locked in the Gallows.
Let us not forget that his writer set out to vilify him and portrayed a harmful stereotype of mental illness, because she was pissed at her ex and thought it made for an interesting character concept. Not that G@ider was off the hook with his writing of the character in Awakening but that's a whole other can of worms I don't need to open right now.
Look, he does and says some wild shit in game. He's a flawed person, but that's what makes him so good. So nuanced. He is struggling with so much - his past trauma, more recent traumas, unlearning a lot of harmful ideologies the Chantry put into his head, he's learning how to actually live in a world that actively hates his kind (mages), then there's all of his issues with the Wardens which is A Lot. So yeah, he's testy, snarky, a little bitter, but he also has a deep DEEP compassion, he has the capacity to be selfless to some degree, and sometimes he puts his foot in his mouth. Who doesn't? He's human.
Also, why does no one question why Justice didn't speak up like "the hell you fuckers won't, that is unjust!" And miss me with the "he was twisted into a demon of vengeance" narrative. That is also some fresh-from-the-horses's-anus-shit and proven wrong by things that happen in game many times, despite what the writing tries to spoonfeed us.
Anyway. Screw canon. BW has issues with consistency and are constantly retconning and trying to force feed us "grey morality" yet can't actually write it to save their lives, so y'know.
