Spoilers Loki s2 e5

I have a lot to say!!! (this will be long)

Ok first of all this scene made me laugh a lot because of how randomly they presented the original timeline of Mobius, he looks like a child playing (oh and him being a single dad it makes a lot of sense to me)

Oh my f*cking god If I liked O.B before, now I love him with all my soul! He is not only a nerdy genius but a science fiction geek whose passion is to be a writer!!! And why didn't they let him keep his books in the bookstore?! I would gladly buy them!! Just look at his face, he needs a hug :(

AND WHY THE FUCK DID THEY NOT HELP HIM WHEN THE BOOKS DROPPED ON HIM?! IT COSTS NOTHING TO BE KIND DAMN IT

Ok, I think we've all realized that O.B's workshop is the same as the basement where he works at the TVA, maybe he was the one who created the TVA after all? btw how beautiful the photography is in this entire series.

I admit it, I laughed my ass off at this scene, I apologize (make it a meme pls lol) Honestly, this whole scene and the interactions that O.B had with Loki made me laugh (when Loki tries to control his timeslipping or when O.B electrocutes him as scientific proof)

This scene where Loki adjusts his hair and his jacket to see Mobius 👀 (he only does it with him) I wonder what the Sylki fans have to say

Remember how I said I hated Hunter X5/Brad Wolfe? Well I was wrong, there is one person I hate more, her. Girl, they're literally telling you that everything is going to shit and you don't give a damn? On top of that, when they tell you that you are selfish, do you take it naturally as if it were something to be proud of? Why are you like this? The worst thing of all is that when Loki says he wants his friends back she calls him selfish, not sweetheart, that's not being selfish. Being selfish is turning a blind eye to a problem that you mainly caused. Loki's fear of being alone is understandable and justified since he felt that way all his life and has done all the things he did for that same reason, which It's being really selfish, it's the opposite, wanting to be alone and forget your friends and not care that their timelines are falling apart. Sylvie you are a hypocrite (sorry I had to vent)

AAAAAAAAAA I'M GOING TO CRY GOD. I said it and I will always say it Loki needs a hug 😭 This scene is super moving because it shows us Loki's true purpose, he just wants his friends back, who are also people he hasn't known for a long time but who were attentive to him (btw Tom Hiddleston always shines in all his scenes )

This scene...holy shit this scene was scary. I think it's even more terrifying than Thanos' snap.

It's overwhelming how everything around her disappears in seconds leaving her in literal emptiness. There is absolutely nothing left, only threads floating in an enveloping blackness. When I saw that scene I felt empty and desolate.

OH SHIT HERE WE GO AGAIN...

Loki's face when he sees his friend disappear D: (I'm having deja vu from the first season when Mobius was pruned)

Sylvie too?! Why does she disappear and Loki doesn't? (By the way, you just arrived Sylvie when you realize that everything is disappearing? really?)

Ok this is a nightmare for Loki, he was left alone and couldn't do anything to avoid all that, I think it's the most hopeless scene of the episode :( (And the way he tries to grab those threads…I'm broken)

OK HEAR ME OUT BECAUSE I HAVE A LOT TO SAY ABOUT THIS SCENE. I think the background voices help a lot with the feeling of anguish and helplessness that Loki feels, for not being able to save what he loved most, his friends. And when you feel overwhelmed by all those voices and at the end one stands out and it's Sylvie's voice saying something like what makes a Loki a Loki is the fact that we are destined to lose? That's when he screams in despair and goes back in time just a few seconds earlier and manages to control his timeslipping. And I must say that at first when I saw this scene it reminded me a lot of the scene from the movie "Ella Enchanted" when she is forced to kill the prince and she is surrounded by mirrors and begins to remember moments of her life such as when her mother told him to trust her or something like that (I don't remember the scene much, I saw it years ago lol) the point is that she refuses with all her heart to obey that order and in a moment of desperation she screams just like Loki and she says that she will no longer be obedient and drops the dagger, freeing herself from the spell. I don't know if you understand my point because I'm bad at explaining, but I think that the love he feels for his friends was what made him go back in time, that strong desire to want to make things right and that determination to say "this isn't true." It can end like this, I decide what is going to happen" (free will) I think that is what makes him finally able to control the situation, love is the most powerful force. Something similar happens in the movie "Tomorrowland" I think.

This scene is really powerful, the background music, the phrases that Loki says, the context of the scene, it is cinema. I think you don't need an action scene or scenes for a scene to be epic and move you. This is epic with so little, it is simple but effective. And the music is really the icing on the cake, it is so hopeful and gives strength to the moment when Loki returns to the TVA being able to fulfill his mission, I cried. Loki has evolved into a hero who saves the day and everyone.

And that ending??! Oh no the cliffhanger again..

Phew I know this was very long but I really needed this kind of catharsis, never has a Loki episode left me with so many emotions and beautiful things like this one. I laughed, I got excited, I cried and I was scared. I am very happy with the evolution of Loki and each episode that passes wins my heart more, I can't wait to see the next chapter. Everything is perfect in this series, the music, the settings, the actors, etc. It shows that it is made with the heart

So I want to write some one-shots and shorter stories to regain my writing momentum. As of right now I have two concepts brewing. One is my H6 vignette story, and the other is just my intense urge to see a Pinhead/OFC fic set in the Dead by Daylight universe (there are like...two good ones, one of which may not even end up being the end game ship).

Mainly I want to do that last one because I'm...very disappoint at DbD fandom for at first not getting him, misinterpreting his character based on net zero information gathering, and then overall dismissing him as boring (because I guess half of them couldn't be bothered to watch the movies and therefore they have no context at all to actually find interesting).

I'm discovering that lore may for some reason be irrelevant to DbD fandom...despite kind of having a cool concept to build on.

It's funny because like, this is a MASSIVE Monster Boyfriend fandom. But many of the male monsters that people crush on in DbD feel totally emotionally impenetrable, mainly because most were pretty monstrous as human beings, so what fanfic exists definitely takes a lot of creative license in order to make that even plausible. That's all well and good...

...and yet, here he is, finally. A monster who was a man so sad and tragic and kinky that he died, and then the eldritch god of desire made him the monster priest of the extremes of sensation, but! also! he is still sad deep down inside, and will lay his life down to save the good girl if she bats her eyelashes right, because some buried part of him is still gallant and a hopeless romantic. DbD gave them like...THE monster boyfriend, and DbD fandom was like like..."oh him? who? that guy? I don't know him but he's bald and looks boring. Oh but remember the "he came" memes? ~lol~."

DbD fandom WHAT ARE YOU DOING. Ya'll, they're just asleep. They snoozed right through this. They were like "give me more Ghostface. We need more stabby shitheads pls ~uwu~ "

Hi my very dear and lovely friend @cherubimeyes asked me to answer every single question to the Layton meme, yes all 40 of them, so umm, basically, I die. (yes i'm tagging you because look look look look look l-) Putting under a read more because, you know.

Oh and uh, obvious spoilers for like, every game

1) Who is your favourite character?

Luke, it's Luke, always has been always will be, he's just a boy and I love him so so so so so so so much. He's just so silly he makes me so happy anytime I see him, he’s literally just a 13 year old boy and he’s my son :')

2) What’s your favourite game?

Hate this question, hate it because there's things about every PL game that are my favourite and I genuinely love every entry in the series. Though if you made me pick, it'd say either Lost Future or Spectre's Call, I can't choose between those two at all so you have to take that as my answer hehe.

3) What’s your favourite soundtrack?

Lost future hands DOOOWN, they went so hard on the OST for this one like it's insane, like so many of the songs on that soundtrack are so memorable and they stand out so well I jUST AAAA.

Plus the main theme makes me cry every time I hear it is so good. I love all the Layton main themes tbh they always fuck so hard lol but Lost Futures one is just the best to me its so all over the place but in such a good way.

4) What’s your favourite puzzle?

Ummmmmm I can't remember tbh, even more of an excuse to go play every layton game again lol. I do like sliding/jigsaw puzzles so anything along those lines would be one of my favourites!

The Alchemist Lab from MM’s and AL’s daily puzzles are a big favourite of mine!

5) What’s your favourite setting? (Misthallery, Monte d’Or, etc…)

I really fucking love Misthallery, like just the vibe for it is so good to me, mainly because it really does come off like a weird English town that's you'd just stumbled upon while exploring. Plus it's so….Misty..

6) What outfit of Luke’s is your favourite?

Gonna go with the OG trilogy on this one, sorry I just think his jumper is cute, I do love his other outfits though they're such a look. So hyped to see what his new outfit is going to be but I already love it!!!

7) What’s your favourite cutscene?

Maaaaaaaan there’s so many that stand out it’s hard for me to pick one!!! Any scene with Claire, all the fight scenes, the ferris wheel scene, the one where Luke gets fucking kidnapped and just screams for like a whole minute, any scene with Randal, the little cutscene where Arouras getting her new outfits (why was she Irish btw?), the ending to PL vs AA. They’re all so good to me and I love them all so much, insane.

8 ) What’s your favourite end credits song?

Azran Legacy's, I know AL isn't everyone's favourite because of how the story is but come oONNN THE END CREDIT SONG IS SUCH A GUT PUNCH, especially with the original Japanese lyrics to it!!! Genuinely sad they never dubbed over the end credit songs with lyrics because holy shit all the songs hit different with vocals added, I love you saxophone but you will never be a vocalist.

9) What’s your favourite minigame?

The tea mini game, I love giving those two the most rancid tea possible and watching them cry over it. I am really just a 5 year old making "potions" for people to consume and get sick from. Over favourite is the hotel mini game, I always feel super bad if i can’t get them both a bed before their first night at St Mystere but I love hearing them bitch and complain about their room layouts so much, Luke gets two beds just as a treat. :)

10) What’s your favourite animal/pet? (The bunny from MM, the parrot from UF, etc, etc.)

I love the bunny minigame but honestly the parrot, for the sole reason that you can name it My Dick and have Clive say "just sit back, and watch My Dick work its magic", like that is never not funny and if you say otherwise you're lying.

11) Do you have a favourite quote? If yes, what is it?

“Isn’t that odd, I find that odd! Doland, do you find that odd?” - Professor Layton

It is, in fact, odd.

12) If you could have a spinoff game about one character, who would you choose and what would the game be about?

Still holding out for that Luke solo American game, or just any Luke solo game, I know there was a mini one for Pandora's Box but I want a full game, send him out into the world to solve mysteries please he’ll love it.

I’ll also take an Flora, Emmy, or even Randal solo game, though I have no fuckin idea what kind of game. You think I could get a Randal farming simulator game??? Please???

13) If you could meet any character’s voice actor and have them say something to you as their character, who would you choose and what would you have them say?

I really wanna meet Luke's UK voice actor and ask her to say "Professor, have you heard of the hit new game Among us? Pretty Sus innit", I don't care how much money I have to pay for it, no price is high enough.

14) If you could punch one character in the face, who would it be?

Bill Hawks, I hate the government and I still want that bitch dead.

15) Would you change how any of the games are executed? If yes,what would you change?

The only one I'd change would be Azran Legacy, all I’d really do is just make the story more fixed/linier instead of giving the choice to the player, I just found it made the game feel a lot shorter than it is.

16) Did you enjoy PL-vs-PW?

YES YES YES I FUCKING DID SO MUCH, Mainly because this game gave me Darklaw and I don't talk about her nearly as much as I should, she takes up so much space in my brain.

I do suck at court cases so the ace Attorney parts were a bit challenging but other than that, it's a good game and I love it a lot teehee

17) Do you have any headcanons? If yes, what?

I do not, aside from like small things that I really can’t think of off the top of my head I got nothing, I’m sure if you sat me down and asked me to think hard enough i’d come up with one but my mind goes blank when i’m put on the spot lol

18) Did you cry at any games? If yes, what ones)

Yes, all of them, every single one, there is no exception. PL games just hit me in the emotions too much and make me so and cry and throw up everywhere.

19) Do you prefer the 2D art or the 3D art?

Gotta say 2D, no hate to the 3D style because I do actually like it, but not everyone translates well over to 3D, especially with how most of the Layton characters look.

That being said, hopefully they’ve improved a lot for the new game, but man I do think the push to make every game 3D is… not a good one lol.

20) How many times have you played your favourite game?

Ohhhhhh man idk, I replay the whole series like every year or so but it's been a while so I don't remember. Definitely more than once, I think I replayed Lost Future as soon as I completed it the first time because there’s something wrong with me.

21) Do you cosplay any characters? If yes, who? If no, would you like to? Who would you choose?

I used to cosplay as Luke a lot back when I was younger, haven't done it since because you know, I got other things to cosplay, but I could probably pull off his look a lot better now than I did then, my hairs actually short now. I would need to but everything again because despite not growing since I was 10, I have outgrown his old costume, still got the hat somewhere though hah!

22) Do you have any merchandise? If yes, what? If no, would you like any? What would you get?

I don’t have a lot but that’s just from me not going out to get it! I have the Eternal Diva Luke plush who’s one of my oldest plushes and I love him so much!!! Other than that, I have the Fangamer Curious Village t-shit which I wear whenever it’s clean, and I have a bunch of fan merch too! I just try and pick up PL stuff whenever I can but I definitely want to get into collecting more of it!

23) Has the series had an impact on your life?

Um??? Yes??? You think playing a video game at the age of 11 wouldn't??? This game has impacted me in ways I can't describe and helped spark my love for art and storytelling and creativity, so without it I wouldn't be nearly half the person I am today, it's hard for me to articulate exactly how, but trust me it has and I am so grateful for it.

24) When did you first discover the series?

I got Lost Future advertised to me in 2010, I don’t think i’d heard of the game series before, I wasn’t as chronically online as I am now so back then TV ads really did work on me lmao

25) How old were you when you first discovered the series?

I was about 11 or so, you know, a crucial age to have media influence your entire life.

26) How did you discover the series?

Again, it got advertised to me, so I asked to get Lost Future for christmas and my life has been a downward spiral ever since lmao

27) Will you play Layton 7?

Oh man you can tell this meme is old lmao

I can't even remember what Layton 7 was originally going to be??? Like I know it ended up being Kat's game but I know it was planned to be something before that, but I seriously can't remember what it was. But umm yes I will play layton 7, I'm one of those annoying fans that will play anything in a series regardless of its quality.

28) Do you have any ideas that could easily be future games?

I can’t think, they’re literally making a new one and I have no idea what it could be at this point, so they can throw whatever they want at me at this point and i’ll take it.

29) Did you enjoy Mystery Room?

Honestly, I never played it. I know I should and I probably will at one point, but I didn't have a smartphone when it was released so I kinda missed out on the hype for it unfortunately, again I might play it now but yea we’ll see, Alfred is a whole mood dhdjbwhd

30) If you could tell one character something, who would it be and what would you say?

I’d say to Clive that he had the right idea but a giant mobile fortress wasn’t the brightest idea, if he had the money to build a giant robot toy, he could’ve just exploded parliament instead. Think smarter Clive, also have fun rotting in prison, hope you stay there.

31) Did you enjoy Eternal Diva?

I LOVE ETERNAL DIVA SO MUCH!!! It’s such a Layton movie, like it's the perfect video game movie to me!!! it's just, so Layton. Everyone I've ever met has been subjected to this movie at some point in their life, it’s like important research in order to understand what’s up with me. If I'm friends with someone who hasn’t seen it yet, don’t worry, you soon will.

32) What was the saddest moment/s in the games for you?

Literally all the endings??? That’s why I keep crying like a bitch over all of them.

Though Luke leaving to go to America will never not make me cry, like just the whole set up for it as well as the end cutscene just, god that sucks so much wAA. Also any mention from Luke about his family makes me sad too, like both in Specters Call and PL vs AA, I don’t know why I just find it sad, boy deserves so much better than what happened to him in Specters Call like come OOON, Weird kids deserve so much love.

Oh also, the reunion scene in PL vs AA wasn’t sad but it still made me cry, so mad it never got turned into a cutscene.

33) Have you met people as a result of playing the games?

YES! MANY! A good chunk of my early online friends were from our shared interest in Layton! Even today I will happily bond with someone over this game and I am always happy to introduce people to it, it’s just such an amazing series that I really can’t praise enough. OK SO, I ANSWERED THIS QUESTION A WHILE AGO AND ORIGINALLY I SAID NO, BUT THAT WAS BEFORE FEBRUARY 8TH 2023. I am bouncing off the walls and eating the furniture and kicking and screaming for a new layton game. I am so interested as to how this new one will play out but I am so HYPED for it and I’m so glad it doesn’t look to be going in the direction I was fearing it would go in if they made a new Layton game!!!

Regret to inform you that I’ve been a Layton fan since 2010/11, so umm… I’m 42 years old, and uhh… baseball, if you even care. No attatchment to the source material it’s lost on me now, those quotes are just burned into my head from being 12 years old.

But I do 100% love Clive and snails, he’s so wrong by the way and I would put snails on him in a heartbeat.

36) Has a moment in the games ever scared you?

I used to be really scared at the fact that everyone in St Mystere were robots, like that just unnerved me so much, but that was 100% from me being scared of robots at the time I first played it, I’m better now but it still weirds me out a bit lol

All of them, LEVEL-5 just knows how to make insane looking characters that will kill you, I know a good chunk of them haven’t aged well but you know, not much I can do about that.

As for the wackiest, literally all the kids in Mistalery, there;s something so up with all of them I don't wanna go there ever.

Outside of any canon/canon implied ships, not really??? I never got into PL shipping it was just never for me, though I will admit that Ranlay is very fucking good and I appreciate it a lot. But yea I’m kinda more interested in all the found family stuff that goes on in PL games more than anything else!

39) Are you going to buy this art book when it comes out in November?

I cannot play an instrument because I spent all my time learning how to sing instead, and I can’t even sing any of the layton songs because they’re all in Japanese and I don’t KNOW Japanese. Maybe if I ever learn one day then yea i’ll learn to play the ending credits.

-Phoenix (Cloudburst) and "the others" are in an "outside country" and "came to Japan to play" which (perhaps randomly) got me thinking about whether Hawk specifically and in regards to Japan, where he's been for ages at this point (but more all of them I guess)--could be considered a part of the countries they've been stationed in or are considered foreigners no matter what. Legal stuff aside, obviously they're citizens in their countries with all the right paperwork and such; they have jobs and function in normal society, how could they not. But....they are from another planet so it begs the question whether or not they can be considered foreigners or of that country--technically speaking they don't really belong to any nationality too...? I guess that's why the wording of "in an outside country" "came to Japan" was used....and Idk if I'm wording this right but that sentence got me thinking about that. Maybe as a tangent. 👀

It's mainly a description of what's going on, "on a day where the weather is nice, cab is together with the pretenders and the three headmaster jrs in front of his hut," (first sentence) and so I'm only 80% sure of my translation abilities here but I'll point out a couple things anyway:

-"Today is a lovely Sunday" I just like this. They're giving. Today is a good day. Always love that for them 😌

-theyre having a garden party (it literally says "garden party" in katakana). But...in a FOREST? Is it even still a garden party anymore??? Can you have a garden party in a non-garden?? I think I'm missing the point here but uH help?????????? (/j don't take this super seriously dhshsjsj)

Oh yeah, I completely agree with about this toxic idea that celebrities should post what we want to see as if they owe as anything or have to fit the narrative that we create in our heads about them.

Social media is not an exact reflection of who we are as whole, I for one barely post on Instagram and definitely not even a fraction of all my insterests of everything I do, sometimes because I forget to take pictures, I forget to post them or I just don't feel like it. Even posting pictures with friends can be weird for me cause I get all insecure and feel they are going to think why am I even posting about them (which is stupid but it happens) so I end up just putting up pictures with the two or three people I feel 100% comfortable with. Went on a little bit of a tangent there, but just trying to put and example of how there can be a thousand different reasons of why or presence in social media is one way or another.

The only thing I meant before is that I do understand how it can feel disappointing for example getting a story notification and instead of seeing idk a selfie, some out of context picture at set, some silly video, hearing him talk or something like that, seeing something about someone you don't like that much (whether you have good reason or not) Because yes, Rudy posts many different things, but not so much anymore really, lately it has been work related offical posts, maybe sharing some movie and Elaine. Which is totally fine, I don't want to force him to post something he doesn't want, and if he is happy that is the most important part. But I do understand the "sadness" of not even seeing him anymore.

By the way, I don't thing it has to do that much with 'Elaine being toxic and whatever whatever' people say, and more with suddenly having a lot of followers (also with its negative part) and not being as comfortable posting his silly things as he probably was before.

And I don't mean this as a critique at all, he can do whatever the fucks he wants, he is an actor and that's what I mainly want to see from him, but just some thoughts.

Trust me, I am the president of the “Rudy pls post something” club. It’s so annoying that he hasn’t even made a full post since February. And I definitely also get annoyed when he posts something boring lmao. When I get that notification I pray it’s either a pic of him or E. The only thing that bugs me is when “fans” (not you sweet anon) blame Elaine for that when, if anything, she actually is the one person still making him remember his instagram password. We should thank her for making him remind us he’s still alive. I’ve simply accepted he’s a hermit by now. 😂

I definitely also think he’s less active because having 6.5 million people see your posts sounds super scary. I don’t even post anything myself lol. And actually, the rest of the cast has been very quiet too. I feel like Rudy probably posts a lot in like a “close friends” story, and keeps his public posts more on the professional side.

I'm also super nervous for the new season of Stranger Things but for other reasons lol, mainly I just don't want anything to happen to my boy Steve. Like I'm so scared I don't even know if I can watch it without looking for spoilers bc I don't want to go in unprepared. I know I'm a little bitch but I'm just too emotionally invested in his character I could not handle the d-word without a warning. I used to be okay with stuff like this but after years of unnecessary character deaths from various shows I'm a little traumatized. 🙃

Also I'm super nervous how they will handle Billy's death, like from the trailer they already seem to paint him in a better picture than he actually was. (If Steve doesn't spit on his grave after Billy tried to kill him what's the point tbh?)

I also get your concerns, I don't watch Riverdale but I know from the memes the show is batshit crazy, however I still have faith. ST had always supernatural elements so for Max floating is not out of nowhere than maybe for a show like Riverdale. Plus the Duffers actually know how it will end soo idk it just makes me more at ease bc the Riverdale writers just make shit up for it to continue there is no end goal besides milking it. Unlike ST which will end next season, however I'm worried the Duffers called this season their Game Of Thrones one bc yikes (again makes me nervous for multiple reasons like major character deaths or bad writing)

If you want to watch a great show that is a bit similar to ST but much better in terms of writing, I recommend Dark on Netflix. It's a German show (pls watch with subtitles bc the dub sucks) about a small town and children who dissappear in mysterious ways. It's already finished and everyone was satisfied with the end, plus no kids floating lol 😅. I'm kinda proud of this show bc I'm German and it's like the first great show with international success, normally German productions suck ass.

i am also a little nervous about steve being killed off this season. i remember there were fan theories circulating on tiktok that claimed that they 'felt' like steve was gonna get killed off this season, but i hope the duffer brothers don't. i feel like that would be too much trauma for the kids (and the viewers). as a writer, i can see the appeal of killing characters off, there is some sadistic part of us that loves killing major characters off. however, as a viewer, i will lose my mind if anything happens to one of the kids or steve (or robin). when i think about the duffer brothers killing steve off, i kind of remind myself that the duffer brothers do not rely on character deaths to make the show more realistic. i mean, obviously, when there is a situation where the group faces death every episode from an interdimensional battle, there are going to be deaths and the ending is not going to be a happy ending. however, the duffer brothers have proven that they do not rely on character death for realistic endings. i feel like most writers forget that unhappy endings do not always need death, it could be how characters cope and the duffer brothers are really good at not wrapping everything up in a nice little bow where someone is killed and people are sad. they integrate mental illness and suffering caused by trauma or people moving or making hard decisions to make the ending less perfect. that kind of soothes the worry within me.

as far as billy's death goes, i am very much afraid of how the characters will handle it. i know max is torn up and i am fairly confident that billy will get a redemption arch which is fine by me as billy obviously made a connection with max and that hinted towards character growth on his part. i am also pro-people changing their views after surronding themselves with good influences and educating themselves. however, i do not want to see steve and lucas forgive billy for what he did to them simply because he is dead. steve and lucas have no reason to forgive him, billy had made no moves to apologize or mend anything with them while he was alive so he does not deserve their forgiveness.

long-story-short, we have no idea if billy was going to change his bigoted ways that were ingrained into him from neil. while i want to imagine that billy was breaking free of the violence, aggression, hate, and bigotry that neil imparted to him, i have to remember what billy did to steve and lucas. i also, as a side note, have an issue with people who want steve to spit on billy's grave (which i have no problem with as long as it does not strain the relationship he has with max). they ar e pushing so steve to spit on his grave, and it seems like they are forgetting what happened to lucas. lucas needs to spit on billy's grave too. my bby lucas needs to heal from being literally attacked by billy. aside from that, steve and lucas can spit on billy's grave, but i cannot deal with billy's death putting strain on the dynamics and relationships between max and steve and max and lucas. i also kind of want to know more about how max and billy's relationship changed between season 2 and season 3 because max hated billy at the end of season 2 and in season 3 you could see how worried she was for billy and how the dynamic between then had changed.

this season has a lot of things happening and it seems action-packed, but i hope the duffer brothers did not forget about the actual writing. they were applauded for their character development and the actual writing of the show, not the action of it. i just hope they did not lose sight of that. which, i guess i am also fearful of poor writing.

but thank you for that show rec (and the reassurance that there are no floating people in it), i watch everything with subtitles anyway because i end up missing half of what happens if i don't. i will check that out once my brain has recovered from this semester of school!

✩Most people assume Maxie is cold. To be fair, they aren’t entirely wrong. Outwardly, he is neither the most friendly person, nor the most open with his emotions. If he sees anyone as a friend, more than likely, they won’t even know it.

✩But… Somehow, some way, you managed to break through to him, and it became obvious that he had a soft spot for you. Most people think the man is ONLY cold and analytic, but he does have a kind side.

☾(It’s mainly just a matter of whether or not he likes you, to be honest!)

✩It started with advice. Out of nowhere. The dude’s kind of a genius (Most of the time, trying to increase the landmass was NOT his brightest moment).

☾And if you think he’ll refrain from telling you what HE thinks is best, uh… He won’t. He’s going to give you his viewpoint or thoughts on that situation. Pretty much every situation actually. Even things that aren’t even SITUATIONS, like, life advice.

☾But, he means well. He wants to teach you. He wants to help you understand. But uh, sometimes the way HE sees things is totally different than how you see them. Or how MOST people see them. That being said, at least you know he cares.

☾What’s even more awkward is that, every once in a while, he’ll bring these things back up in later conversations. Overall, it feels like this:

✩But, while his attempts to relate to you are often humorous, it IS reassuring that he tries. And on more than one occasion, he’s been there when you needed support.

☾...He’s not always the BEST at it, mind you. He can be a little blunt.

☾But on days where it felt like you were repeatedly kicked while you were down, he always managed to find time for you.

☾(Even if that meant he bought his projects with him to your house to listen to you vent.) Literally had his contraption strewn across your kitchen table as he listened. And yes, he listened, he remembered what you said, it was just a little awkward. But, him being there still made you feel better, in the end.

MAH BABIES! Seriously, I love these two. I will forever be upset that we haven’t gotten a Freedom Fighters centric story that gave us more content for the group, especially Longshot, Smellerbee, and Jet.

For reference, all of these will be completed using the following headcanons:

1. Longshot is a firebender from the FN Colonies (this has absolutely no basis in canon, I just literally can’t unthink it).

2. Jet lives. Because he should have.

(and I’m still sleep deprived so these might be a little insane/weird)

General:

Rate the Ship -

How long will they last? - Till death do they part, and then a tad bit longer.

How quickly did/will they fall in love? - It took them a couple years. They’re children in the middle of a brutal war with an even jankier support system than the Gaang had. They’ve got a lot to deal with already. Plus, Bee has to process the fact that sweet fucking spirits he’s a flaming ashmaker what the hell when did that happen?!?

How was their first kiss? - When I wrote that scene in Ashmaker, it was very sudden and rather frustrated, and right after Bee literally slapped some sense into him (or tried to, anyways). It would definitely be either that, or it just...happens. Just a lazy thing, something that happens as they’re waking up, and neither of them realize it for a few moments. But in both cases, Bee is the one to initiate it.

Wedding:

Who proposed? - Longshot. It was a simple proposal - it just slipped out one day as they were walking together in the same woods they met in, just outside Gaipan. Marry me, he says, quietly at first, then louder when she asks what he said. Bee, of course, says yes.

Who is the best man/men? - Jet. Absolutely, 100% Jet. (Bonus: if he dies like in canon, Jet is still the best man - The Duke stands in his place, carrying a picture of Jet, forever sixteen. Instead of a Best Man’s speech, they have two minutes of silence. Longshot has to leave his own reception because the loss of his best friend is still that painful.)

Who is the braid’s maid(s)? - We don’t see Bee get many, if any female friends in the show. If they become friends at some point, though, it would absolutely be Toph. I have a feeling the earthbender-gremlin and the knife-gremlin would get along very well. Otherwise, it’s probably someone Bee meets in Ba Sing Se, or in Republic City post-war.

Who did the most planning? - Their wedding really didn’t have any planning. They just sorta threw it together one afternoon. Longshot let Bee make most of the decisions because it’s her day, and he just wants her to be happy.

Who stressed the most? - Honestly, neither. They just...knew they were meant for each other. In the moment they were each a little nervous, but they’ve been together so long at this point, that they know: they have nothing to worry about.

How fancy was the ceremony? -

Back of a pickup truck | 2 | 3 | 4 | Normal Church Wedding | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Kate and William wish they were this big.

Who was specifically not invited to the wedding? - There...really wasn’t anyone they specifically didn’t invite, to be honest. After the war, after the dust has settled, after they’ve traveled and grown and matured, they’re more than ready to leave past hurts behind and start a new future.

Who is the stricter parent? - Probably Longshot. He’s pretty chill with most things - he is married to a knife-gremlin, after all - but he’s still stricter than Bee, who doesn’t particularly care if the kid(s) aren’t dead, dying, or out committing felonies.

Who stops the kid(s) from doing dangerous stunts after school? - Both, but only if it’s too dangerous. It’s not like they have any room to talk, considering they literally lived in trees and swung around branches and used jury-rigged ziplines (made by kids) for several years.

Who remembers to pack the lunch(es)? - Longshot is already up, so he does it. Bee, however, is the one to make the food (more below).

Who is the more loved parent? - Smellerbee. She gets in as much trouble as the kids do; hell, she’s the one who gives the kids half their ideas in the first place.

Who is more likely to attend the PTA meetings? - Longshot.

Who cried the most at graduation? - Longshot.

Who is more likely to bail the child(ren) out of trouble with the law? - Longshot, because Smellerbee is probably in jail with the kids (she got in another fight with someone who mistook her for a boy).

Cooking:

Who does the most cooking? - After one too many incidents involving burned soup, near forest-fires, and Jet lacking eyebrows for a month, Longshot was banned from cooking, and the ban is maintained by Bee and the other Freedom Fighters throughout their lives.

Who is the most picky in their food choice? - Longshot grew up in the FN colonies. The boy needs spicy food. Craves it, actually.

Who does the grocery shopping? - They do it together.

How often do they bake desserts? - All the time. After so long living on hunted, stolen, and scavenged food, they both have a sweet tooth that will not be denied.

Are they more of a meat lover or a salad eater? - Meat, mainly because that’s what they’re used to. Salad is just weird.

Who is more likely to surprise the other(s) with an anniversary dinner? - Longshot always remembers things like that, but he doesn’t cook, so when he does get together a full dinner spread, it’s a big day.

Who is more likely to suggest going out? - They only go out when they don’t have a lot of food in the house, or when a friend wants to meet them someplace.

Who is more likely to burn the house down accidently while cooking? - Longshot. Absolutely Longshot (see above). Smellerbee might not be the best cook but she can manage to make food without getting rid of eyebrows or forests.

Chores:

Who cleans the room? - Both.

Who is really against chores? - Neither, really. They’re just so used to doing them that it’s automatic.

Who cleans up after the pets? - Whoever is their at the time.

Who is more likely to sweep everything under the rug? - Considering how long it took him to admit to being a firebender and that he had a crush, it would probably be Longshot.

Who stresses the most when guests are coming over? - They really don’t have guests. Just their really close friends, and they’re pretty much the Freedom Fighters and sometimes the Gaang, who went through the same shit they did.

Who found a dollar between the couch cushions while cleaning? - Longshot did, but he gave it to Bee.

Who takes the longer showers/baths? - Bee. She hates being cold, so she stays in the warmth as long as she possibly can.
