Pensacola tree service is a company that specializes in removing trees. They have been doing this for over 10 years and they are really good at it. They also do stump grinding, which means they get rid of the stump left behind after the tree is removed. They are fully licensed and insured, so you can be sure that your property is in good hands. Mariani Landscape, No. 20 on the 2022 LM150 list, continues its growth pattern with the addition of Southview Design of St. Paul, Minn. This partnership gives us access to the best minds and resources across the nation, and the opportunity to truly change the face of the green industry for years to come.” Southview Design becomes the 12th family-owned residential landscape company in the Mariani Landscape group. In 2022, Mariani added Berghoff Design Group and BDG Maintenance in Phoenix, Ariz.; Designs By Sundown in Littleton, Colo.; Hoffman Landscapes in Wilton, Conn., NatureWorks Landscape Services in Walpole, Mass.; Rocco Fiore & Sons in Libertyville, Ill.; R.P. “Here’s a tribute anthology to one of the greatest living science fiction authors, including works by Junot Diaz, Eileen Gunn, Chesya Burke, Nalo Hopkinson and Geoff Ryman, which play with sexual identity and race, while some essays also celebrate Delany’s work. Publishers Weekly gave this book a starred review, and SFSignal says these stories “honor the man of the hour in many of his facets without ever falling into kitsch or fawning.” i09 on Stories for Chip: A Tribute to Samuel R. The fall semester will be over very soon, I just need to do lots of grading and attend some meetings, but I have been catching up on film viewing.
I have 2 recommendations for documentaries on Netflix for you. The first is Jim and Andy, actually the full title is Jim and Andy:The Great Beyond featuring a Very Special, Contractually Obligated Mention of Tony Clifton. Wow, that is a long title. I watched this because I really love Andy Kaufman. I think he was a genius who understood how to subvert TV, and still find an audience. On one level this is about the making of  The Man on the Moon film about Kaufman made by Milos Forman.  When I watched it I really did not care more about Jim Carey, but this film really changed my mind. He was really open about how this role got into his head, and how other films have affected him in profound ways.  It is as much about the acting process as anything else.
And after you see this you will want to see Man in the Moon again.
The other film is Cuba and the Cameraman, a film by Jon Alpert. Jon was one of those folks who started the portable video movement in NY. He started an organization that is still going on today called Downtown Community TV. They made films about health care, unions and other issues. They really served their community, which for them was in Chinatown.
For example, when they found out many did not go to the dentist because they had no idea what went on there, so they shot video of a dentist doing their work and played it  back on the streets so people could see it.  Jon was intrigued by what was happening in Cuba, where people got free health care and workers were respected, so he went there 40 years ago looking for the revolution and for Castro, he found both. He returned every few years documenting how things were going, sometimes catching up with Castro but mostly returning to a cast of interesting characters and seeing what was happening there through their stories.

Check them out!

Have a great week!
Bart Weiss,
Artistic Director, Dallas VideoFest

Preciso dizer o quanto estou curiosa?

Sixty Two - San Francisco
My final full day on my own and we'd got into a routine. Mike went to work while I relaxed for a while. I then caught the bus to the Mission. This was an area in San Francisco that Mexican people had settled in but in the last ten years has become very gentrified. I got off the bus and went into the first shop I saw. Everything was beautiful, expensive and definitely gentrified. I made my way around the Mission going from shop to shop loving everything. It felt a bit like being in Bristol if everywhere was Clifton Village.
Having visited lots of shops I walked to the oldest building in San Francisco, a small white chapel Mike had warned not to pay to go in because it wasn't that great. Instead I looked at it from the outside thinking how funny it is that we have such old buildings in the UK (the church being only 300 years old). By this time I was hungry and so I walked to a noodle place I'd read about. Unfortunately I get really unlucky with food places and when I got there it was closed! Not wanting to get hangry again I quickly found a place called the Cheese Mission and ordered a toastie, or as Americans say 'grilled cheese'. The grilled cheese was delicious!
I wandered up and down the streets of the Mission going into hipster shops and antique stores. I walked so far I walked out of the hipster area and into the Mexican area. It felt like I was right back in Mexico City except the piñatas were of Donald Trump (genius) and everything was much more expensive. After walking for a while I found Balmy Ally, an alley full of huge colourful murals, walking down it really did feel like I was in Bristol.
Before I headed to the Castro I treated myself to an ice cream, two scoops, the first of salted caramel and the second of peanut. The salted caramel was especially good it - might even beat Swoons! I then walked to the Castro, the famously gay district in San Francisco. As soon as I arrived it was clear where I was as rainbows were everywhere. Flags lined the streets, every shop had one somewhere, even the zebra crossings were rainbows. It was brilliant.
I walked through the streets until I found the Pink Triangle, a memorial to the gay victims of the second world war. Having walked around, looking in more shops, I then walked all the way back to The Mission and Dolores Park to sit until Mike arrived. I enjoyed the park especially because there were a lot of dogs to look at.
Mike and I met at a burrito place Mike had been to before and loved. We queued up eventually ordering a couple of burritos. The burritos, like everything here, were massive and it was a struggle to finish them. But we did of course. Mike was even eyeing up everone else's table as you used to get a big bag of free tortilla chips but we didn't seem to have any. It was interesting to try Tex Mex after going to Mexico. We were planning to get the bus back home but there was a 40 minute delay so got an uber instead. That night we packed some more before heading to bed.
