I didnt knew what to draw so I made a crossover between Finn (noelle’s catradora fankid) and Miro (mine) !! In this crossover they are siblings  ✨ ✨ Anyway I didnt knew SO MANY people would love Miro that much to spam him in Noelle’s live chat cause they wanted him canon...I really was in tears. Love y’all.

I watched that 4 hr She Ra BLM stream by Noelle, very nice.

Takeaways: 

The crew of this show wrote most of it before any of it came out so they created silly in-jokes and headcanons and favourite ships. It was so strange watching a creator talk about their own show this freely, like they were a fan of someone else’s work.  The AT crew implied this was how they thought of the show but they were never so open about it like this, barring some of the late joiners like Sam Alden who had a pure love for Adventure Time.  

I can’t imagine having been a member of the fandom as this was airing, because people would take crew comments so seriously. I know they did by my second hand exposure, which is why I was so scared of the fanbase. 

Anyway, now that I have confirmed first-hand She Ra fandom no longer exists, I’m free to go digging wherever I want. So, the video!!! 

Shipping wise: 

Noelle and Molly lowkey ship Glimmer and Catra (of course), though obviously they have their endgame OTP in Catra and Adora.  They joked about lovechildren, drawing Scorpia with a bunch of literal scorpions, and creating a half-jokey CatraDora lovechild and naming them Finn, saying they would be “the most protagonist-looking character ever” (probably why they chose Finn) and also Double Trouble would neg them into being a cool kid.  That was very funny. 

There was a bit of other stuff, at the very end they suggested Entrapta has had/would have a lot of (mostly robot) boyfriends and girlfriends with Hordak among them lol, and theyd do community service on Beast Island and maybe adopt some horrifying beasts into her weird family because of course they would. Poly Entrapta canon? 

Oh, and apparently Wrong Hordak was a joke in the writer’s room that they found so funny they found a way to squeeze it in the show. There’s probably something else that was cut for time for Wrong Hordak. And yet, I would not have it any other way.  

Character wise: 

What I liked about the video is how gushy Noelle got when talking about something they thought strongly over. The topic of Redemption came up and Noelle went into season 4/5, the whole situation with the portal and the characters that were forgiven.  I can tell that they had been reading up on a lot of discourse and fan takes, so Noelle went on the defensive for Catra. However, this was a well-thought and non-aggressive rebuttal, so I’m not too bothered by that. 

Basically they used Entrapta and Glimmer (the other two best characters) as reference points for how Catra redeemed herself. Entrapta was not an angry ball of rage trying to destroy a universe, but at the end of the day, was responsible for the portal being built because she wanted to see what would happen. When the other characters save her life and she realises she fucked up, she has the question of how to make up for being a villain, and decides that if she uses her skills to help the good guys then maybe they’ll start wanting her around. She learns that you have to put work in to keep friends.  When she sees Catra in the ship, she’s already past the bulk of that, so knows that because she was able to make up for it with a lot of effort, Catra can too, and Catra’s on her way but just not at that part yet. So, while not forgetting everything, she forgives Catra, who was in the same position she was a few eps ago.  She can kind of understand it. 

Glimmer, meanwhile, was in Catra’s position exactly -  she’d taken a huge risk that endangered all her friends and regretted it and got sent up with Prime. Catra’s deathportal gave Prime the signal while Glimmer sending Etheria into the original universe gave him the keys to the castle. So when they start bonding on the ship, Glimmer finds it easy to forgive Catra because she too has fucked up all of her friendships on the road to revenge and is all by herself.  When rescued, Glimmer is the most determined to save Catra, demonstrating her growth after season 4 where she nearly killed Catra and stopped everyone from saving Entrapta. And when Catra’s on the ship finding it hard to apologise, Glimmer understands her well, asking Adora to give her some time. 

Noelle says it was really good to have those characters interact with Catra because they are all in the same position, and I do agree that it made things much smoother for Catra to have 3 of the 4 people she hurt most in one place to make up to. 

(I think Catra and Scorpia should have talked more in s4 but Scorpia was out of commission until the very end :( i did like how Perfuma called Catra out and showed that not everyone was going to immediately forgive her for hurting others, very Katara of her)

Anyway yeah I watched the whole thing and even started falling asleep at the end, though I was in work hours, so that was not good. I think I got like 20 to 30 minutes of light sleep. Nice to see they raised so much money for BLM!  I love that some cartoon creators have done that. Using your fame to support something better.  ....Provided the charity they donate to is good and not corrupted??? But I don’t know.

I have never seen the new She-Ra

I’ve heard good things about it, I just haven’t had the time and motivation to sit down and watch it. Anyway, I’ve seen several posts about it pop up on my dash, all with this lovely lady:

Many of these posts were tagged “Catradora”, so I assumed that was her name. I was wrong.

Meet Catra:

Absolutely lovely lady, I appreciate her style choice of having the exact same cuts on each pant leg.

Meet Adora:

Also a lovely lady. Is she the protagonist? I think so, she’s blonde and is carrying a sword so she probably is. Love the shoulder pads by the way.

And this (unless I’ve made another misinformed blunder) is Catradora:

They seem happy, at least the protagonist(?) does. Tigras forgotten lovechild seems to be a bit confused or is trying to look cool? Anyway, just wanted to admit I was wrong about something that no one asked me if I was wrong about. Have a good day!
