Why Dani why?? Why did you kill Chopin what did that poor creature do to you?
I got magnus I was not expecting that. I don’t how to insert a photo in this chat iam still learning about tumblr.
I wanted to ask you a question who is your favorite OTP after Malec in the books? I am not cruel so I am not asking from the characters you created haha.
YAY MAGNUS!
I don't think you can send photos on anon asks. Maybe that's why?
Hmmm. My OTP after malec. I don't really have one, I think. If I had to pick one, I'd say either Gabriel/Cecily or Gideon/Sophie from TID even though they're minor ships I really liked them :)

SFW, Fluff, Holidays, Gift, Jem to the rescue, Will tries, Modern AU, Human AU, Lightwoods are cousins not ancestors.
Summary:
Will is tasked with collecting Jem's and his gift to Tessa without being caught.
Note:
I was not aware that I couldn’t align my text to the right on Tumblr. So I did my best to make the difference between texts and the writing obvious. I apologize. I didn’t check it earlier.

Story:
Will looked around the shops and then back at the text with the directions Jem had sent him. His task was easy; Jem and he had custom ordered an ornate cloth bookmark. The shop had called them back today, saying their order was ready. The problem was that it was Christmas Eve now, and the mall was jam-packed with shoppers fleeting from store to store for last-minute purchases.
Will pushed his phone back into his pocket and kept making his way through the waves of people, dodging excited children along the way.
“Maybe this will have what we need, Magnus,” a very familiar voice snapped Will from his search.
He quickly looked around, trying to find where the voice was coming from.
“I don’t know; Alexander is quite picky in what he likes.”
Will turned to his right and looked across the wide pathway was his girlfriend with one of their best friends. Immediately panic started to set in Will. He pulled his jacket up higher and hunched over to hide. He looked around, spotting a restroom sign. Will carefully made his way through, keeping his eyes on the pair to ensure he hadn’t been caught.
Once safely inside the restroom, Will retrieved his phone, smiling at his lock screen of Jem and Tessa holding hands while ice skating. He recalled the memory from last week. Will pushed up the lock screen and was greeted with another picture of Jem and Tessa, but this one had him squeezed between the both of them while they both tried to help him keep his balance on the ice.
Will pulled his messages with Jem and started to text. He needed a new game plan. Tessa wasn’t aware he was here and instead was under the impression Will was currently with Cecily, helping her wrap Lightworm’s gifts.

PLZ ANSWER!
<Will - 16:41>:
JEM!
<JemofmyEye - 16:42>:
Will, I’m at work. What could you possibly need?
<Will - 16:42>:
Tessa and Magnus are here.
Like in the mall
Where I need to get the present at.
<JemofmyEye - 16:43>:
Yes. She told us she was going to be helping Magnus look for a present today.
<Will - 16:43>:
Ok, but she is here, and I can’t get to the store.
<JemofmyEye - 16:44>:
Will, I am currently trying to figure out how to ask a customer what they mean by ‘the foam isn’t foam.’ I need you to figure this out. Just don’t let her catch you. If she does, just say you are buying something for me.
<Will - 16:45>:
That would ultimately work…
If I hadn’t told her I was going to be busy today helping Cecily out.
I didn’t know she was trying to ask if I wanted to come with her and Magnus!
<JemofmyEye -16:46>
Just get the gift and don’t get caught. I need to go do a live demonstration on how we put foam on drinks for this customer.
Will sighed as he read over the last text again. Jem wasn’t any help, but his boyfriend was currently on a shift during Christmas Eve. He rubbed his hands over his face and stopped to think. Tessa and Magnus had been in front of the bookstore across from the small custom works boutique. If he could just sneak into the shop without being spotted, Will would be home free and safe from being caught.
He peeked his head out of the restroom door and didn’t spot either his friend or girlfriend. Will quickly made his way out and started down the small hallway back into the mall’s central part. He stopped every few steps to make sure he wasn’t going to get caught.
Panic hit for a bit when he had to dive into the store because he heard Magnus laughing somewhere near him. Will didn’t have time to check where it was coming from and the abrupt entrance earned him judging and questioning looks from the attendant.
“I’m here to pick up a custom order?” Will stated, regaining his balance as he brushed himself off. “It’s under Heronstairs.”
“Jem, right?” the teen behind the desk asked.
“No, my boyfriend placed the order, but I’m picking it up,” Will explained, walking to the counter. “I’m Will. Jem should’ve added me to the order.”
“Ah yes, apologies, we try to make sure the products of a certain price and above are securely handed off,” the teen kept on typing away on their computer. “Alright, so you both already paid it completely, so this is just a pick-up. Please wait here; this shouldn’t take more than five minutes.”
Will watched them go and collect Tessa’s gift, entertaining himself by looking at the small charms and key chains at the checkout counter.
“Maybe we can find him something here, Magnus.”
Will heard Tessa say from the entrance of the small store. Luckily the counter wasn’t in view of the door, so he was sure he hadn’t been caught.
“No, we go there all the time. Trust me, there isn’t something in here I haven’t bought him, or he himself purchased,” Magnus airily replied. “There is this other bookstore I was hoping to check out, though.”
Will let out the breath he didn’t know he was holding as he heard their conversation fade away as they walked away.
“Sir?” the attendant asked. “Are you okay?”
“Yes, sorry,” Will recovered, waving the teen off.
“Okay…” the teen looked at Will skeptically and started to type away on the computer once again before the printer next to it went off. “So please sign here. That is our copy, and this one is yours. Everything is wrapped in the box you both requested, and if for some reason within the first three months something is wrong with the design or bookmark itself, please bring it back with your receipt.”
“Thank you,” Will nodded along and signed the copy over, taking the bag and receipt from the attendant.
“Of course, sir. Have a good holiday.”
Will exited, package in hand, and started to make a straight line to the mall’s parking lot exit. He still didn’t want to chance Tessa catching him. Will safely made it to his car and took the neatly wrapped present out of the package, quickly snapping a picture and sending it to his boyfriend.
<Will - 17:29>:
<MMS MESSAGE>
I got it!!!!
She doesn’t even suspect a thing!
<JemofmyEye - 17:29>:
On a possibly related side note, you're not allowed to call Alec ‘Lightworm’ at this year’s Christmas party.
<Will - 17:30>:
And why in the world would I agree to this!?!?!?
<JemofmyEye - 17:31>:
<MMS MESSAGE>
Will huffed and opened the picture message from Jem. It was a text conversation between Magnus and Jem.
<Jem - 16:54>:
I need to ask a favor, please.
<Magnus Bane - 16:54>:
Considering I am currently with Tessa. What did Will do?
<Jem - 16:56>:
He is currently picking up a present we got together for Tessa, but it’s at the mall you both are at.
<Magnus Bane - 16:56>:
I haven’t seen him.
<Jem - 16:56>:
Last I knew, he was hiding in the restroom.
<Magnus Bane - 16:57>:
So what do you want me to do? I still need to find Alexander a gift.
<Jem - 16:57>:
Just keep Tessa away from Nephilim Designs, please.
<Magnus Bane - 16:57>:
While that doesn’t seem too tricky, it will cost you.
<Jem - 16:59>:
I can't do anything for you. I'm currently at work.
<Magnus Bane - 17:00>:
I was thinking more of the lines Will not call Alexander Lightworm anymore.
<Jem - 17:00>:
I can’t guarantee that. Gabriel, Gideon, and he have been going about it for years now; you know that. Not even Cecily got him to stop. I can convince him to drop it for the Christmas party, though.
<Magnus Bane - 17:02>:
Christmas Party and you have to babysit Chairman Meow when Alec and I visit his parents for a week for New Years’.
<Jem - 17:02>:
Deal.
Will groaned and clicked back into the chat with his boyfriend. Now he understood why Magnus steered away from the shop.
<Will - 17:35>:
It’s fine. I don’t talk to Alec that much anyway. Just remind me.
Church won’t be happy about the extra guest, though.
<JemofmyEye - 17:36>:
He will manage for a few days. I have to go. We are getting the late rush.
Drive safe.
<Will - 17:36>:
Don’t let them bully you with foam!
Love you, see you at home.
<JemofmyEye - 17:37>:
Love you too.

Just another names survey, because there’s nothing like looking back at everyone you’ve ever met at 11:28 AM.
Do you know anyone with these names?
Sara: I know a Sarah from my college. She’s kind of a friend-ish? Like I’d say hi to her if we pass each other in the building but I wouldn’t get lunch with her or send her a meme. She also goes by Chloe, her second name. Gabby: Pretty common name. My girlfriend is a Gabie and I had another high school batchmate named Gaby; I also had an old friend from the wrestling fandom whose name is Gabbie. The last Gabbie also goes to UP but I’ve never met nor seen her in the four years I’ve studied there, which is still such a weird thing to me. Rochelle: My Language teacher (it’s basically a subject that taught us English grammar) in the 5th grade was a Rochelle and she was a massive bitch. She is the manifestation of small and cute but terrible, and she didn’t like me and made sure I knew it. I’m glad she aged terribly in the last few years. Alexis: Apparently my Uncle Alex’s full name is Alexis, but I didn’t know until today when I read the obituary for my grand aunt who had just passed. Aurora Summer: I have an orgmate/coursemate named Summer. She’s nice but I think she’s a little lazy and doesn’t make a good co-worker in projects.
Peyton Bianca: Also a common name, but it’s a pretty middle-class/white girl name too. I knew lots of Biancas from high school and all of them are studying in the more expensive university just beside ours. Jordan Eliana: I don’t know Elianas but close enough -  we have a current applicant for our org named Liana. Liberty: Eh, noun names like this one aren’t too common at all where I live. Meadow Cheyenne Acacia: Nah. The only Acacia I know is the name of one of the many dorms inside campus. Laurice and Jo used to live in Acacia but their applications got denied this year.  Erica: I used to ride the bus with an Ericka but it’s all very hazy - I was only in Grade 1 and I think she moved schools not long after, so I don’t have a lot of memories of her. I had a high school batchmate named Erycka but I never liked her either - just seemed too uppity and had a bit of an attitude for no reason. She used to be Gabie’s friend so when the two would hang out I would fuck off so that I didn’t have to deal with her loud ass. Chantell Shawna: Gabie has a coursemate(?) named Shauna. I don’t know her and I dunno if I’ve met her. I think I have, but I never talked to her. Suzy Maria: I can confidently tell you a good 70% of Filipino girls/women have Maria as their first names. No one uses it as their main name though; it’s usually just given to complement second names. Gretchen: Eh, I know a couple of popular personalities with this name but no one personal. Isabella: I have a second cousin named Isabella but I’ve never gotten to form a relationship with her because she was born and is being raised in Australia. Isabela is also the name of one of Gab’s sisters.
Skye: Someone I went to high school with has a kid nicknamed Sky... Skylar: ...because the kid’s whole name is Skyller. Cecily Paige: Nope but this did remind of the WWE wrestler Paige. Autumn Arielle: I went to grade school with an Aerielle. We lost touch for a bit when she had to drop out for a bit and ultimately moved schools, but we’ve since reconnected ever since she got into UP. She’s taking up journalism too. Brianna: Callo’s third name is Brianna. Her chaotic behavior on social media had pissed me off in the last few months so I cut ties with her. A little sad considering how incredibly close we were in high school, but I just have to remember how annoying she’s been and I feel ok again. Cassandra: I used to go to school with a Cassandra but she moved when we started the 1st grade, so I never actually got to talk or be close to her. Like Aerielle, it turns out she’s also in UP now and she’s in the football varsity too. I see her sometimes but given that we’ve never talked, the most we’ve given each other is a look of recognition of being in preschool together lmao. We also had a batchmate named Kassandra but she lives in Singapore now. Small, sweet, and just the nicest girl. Cassidy Sierra: Aya’s second name is Ciara, which is pretty close. Some of us say it similarly to Sierra, and others pronounce it as Sha-ra, so it varies. Cheri Shariah Savannah Greta: My sister had a batchmate named Greta and I remember her mostly because she’s the daughter of my high school’s old theatre manager/director/I never actually found out what his position was called, but basically he used to produce all of our school productions. Leandra Lauren: I went to grade school and high school with a Lauren. We were close as kids but she changed crowds in like the 6th or 7th grade and we lost touch from there. Austin Samantha: Lots of Samanthas were I’m from; it’s a fairly common middle-class name. I used to be best friends with a Sam; I had a high school batchmate named Sam; I knew someone a high school batch higher with the name; and I also currently go to college with a Sam. OH and I also have a cousin with this name hahahaha. She lives in New York but she visited the Philippines a couple of years ago and I was able to spend time with her then. Shayne: My sister’s kindergarten teacher was a Shane and all I remember is that she was really nice and motherly to my sister who did nothing in school but cry because she had bad separation anxiety. Seth: I have a cousin named Seth, but he lives in New York and I’ve never seen him. He’s the younger brother of my cousin Sam. Scott Ryan: I have a uncle with this name but I haven’t seen him since I was a little girl. He used to live with one of my aunts but I think he has since moved back to our home province. Maverick: One of our org’s alumni is a Maverick but he goes by Mawel. I’ve always thought he was intimidating so I’ve never approached nor talked to him. Dylan: My sister had a batchmated named Dylan which I think is a badass name for a girl. Anna: I had several former teachers named Anna. Two of them taught AP (social studies) and another taught us algebra. Katie: I will sometimes call Kate this, but I dunno anyone who legit goes by Katie. Jessica: Went to high school with one. Was always too boisterous and a little fake for me. She also loved to surround herself with boys as early as when we were 13 and while that’s never wrong I just never vibed with people like her. Lydia: I don’t know anyone with this name but this did remind me of the Breaking Bad character who was always a little bit annoying. Ellery Dakota Epiphany Galaxy Ariana: I think Yumi’s sister is an Ariana, but I’ll never know for sure because she always just calls her Ari. Gabriella: My girlfriend is a Gabriela. Rachel: My math teacher in Grade 1 was Ms. Rachel. I don’t have an opinion on her but I remember one time when our class was too noisy, she got way too pissed off and she spent the entire 45-minute period doing sign language to us to be petty. I never did like her after that. Amy: I go to college with an Aimee but I never get to see her on campus because her whole person screams Ateneo. I have no idea why she just didn’t enroll over there instead looooool, her boyfriend and all her friends are there and she’s always hanging out at their campus it’s so weird. My late grand-aunt Amet was also called Amy by some of her peers. Marissa: This is the second name of Kayla, someone I go to college with. Her schedule is weird though because she went on exchange in Canada two sems ago and she’s supposed to have been back a long time now, but I haven’t seen her at all. I have no idea if she’s still even in Canada or is back in the PH now and is just keeping her whereabouts on the down low. Taylor Rebecca: One of Rita’s older sister is named Rebecca but she goes by Becca. She graduated from my college last year, so I’m pretty familiar with her. We’re not close but I’ve encountered her a few times before and she’s reeeeally pretty and nice. The few times we’ve crashed at Rita’s place she had always greeted us out of familiarity from seeing us in our college building. Ashley: I had an STS class with an Ashley but I didn’t get to know her all that much. Allison: I used to have an instructor named Allison but I think she only taught so she could have extra cash because she’s also taking up her Master’s in the same college, so she wasn’t that good of a teacher. I do remember finding her pretty though. Oh and she also got into a really bad car accident in the middle of the sem and we didn’t have classes for like a month, so there’s that. Madison Abigail: My mom is named Abigail. Zachary: I have a cousin named Zachary but he mainly goes by James. Gabriel: Yep I have an orgmate with this name but we call him Gab. He’s...a bit of a character. Either you can tolerate his presence or you find him plain annoying. Used to play his music LOUD in Skywalk which annoyed the hell out of everybody. I’m still not sure what to feel about him so I just give him a nod when we see each other. Mitchell Joe: I have a friend named Jo but she’s a girl. I don’t think I know any guys named Joe. Corey Shawn: I know a friend of some of my friends is named Sean but we’ve never encountered each other. He’s into broadcasting and has done hosting gigs and I think he’s a junior jock in one of the local radio stations as well. Carly: Carley was my old internet best friend. We first found each other because we were huuuuge Stephanie McMahon fans on Tumblr a decade ago and we’d do edits and read fanfic and reblog photos of her, so a really close friendship blossomed from there. She had a rough life those days with a bit of an abusive mom (who has since passed) and I’d video chat her in the afternoon when I’d come home from school (by then she was preparing for school, since she’s from the US). After a while her schedule turned weird and she’d be offline for months at a time only to resurface for like two days then disappear again. She did this for like 3-4 years until I got tired and just stopped talking to her. She’s still my Facebook friend and she shares a lot of memes, but that’s all to it now. Carmen: I went to school with someone who had a very lengthy name and one of her names was Carmen, but she goes by Pam because she also has a Pamela in her name. She does streetdance and I was classmates with her once but we never really got to talk. Melissa: Eh, sure. Someone from high school. Lazy ass. Stephanie: The only IRL Stephanie I know is this girl who’s supposed to be enrolled this sem and is supposedly a classmate of mine in several classes, but never showed up from January through March. And now the lockdown hasn’t helped her case either. Shannon Selena: I have a cousin with this name but it’s spelled Selina. Also she goes by Bia because her other name is Bianca. Christine: Fairly common name. I know lots of Christines/Christina but I’m only close with one, who’s my orgmate and is the VP for Membership for the org, aka she’s the one in charge of recruiting new applicants for the two sems that she’s in charge of the committee. Paula: I went to grade school and high school with a Paula. She was SO painfully shy and quiet but friendly. She studies in Ateneo now but I wouldn’t know if she’s gotten extroverted in the last few years. Harmony Serenity Tessa: My prof in PR was Ma’am Tessa. One of the nicest, softest people ever who’s always down for anything. I think she’s in her 70s now but she’s definitely still kicking and doesn’t miss a single basketball and volleyball game during UAAP season. Claire: One of my very first guidance counselors was Ms. Claire. I remember her being motherly and she was also the counselor that intervened when I had a fight with one student in third grade that was big enough for both of us to land in the guidance office heh. Ruby Rhiannon Harper Riley Brandon Brayden Mystery Noelle: I vaguely remember going to school with a Noelle in kinder but she only stuck around the school for 1-2 years so I have no memories of her whatsoever. Destiny Darcy Dianne: Went to kinder, grade school, and high school with a Dianne. She was quiet for most of the years but she had a really blooming glow-up in high school, where she was part of the popular clique. Super smart and she’s now in business school in UP; also a terrific dancer. Felicity Grace: I have a grand-aunt named Grace. She’s very sweet and funny and is doting towards her grandkids and her grandnieces and nephews, but she and her sisters have notorious track records in the family for having a bit of an attitude and/or for making scenes, and she’s the pettiest of them all given that she’s the youngest. Despite that, all in all I have a soft spot for her. Hannah: One of my best friends in UP. We first met when she and Macy (my old high school friend) transferred to UPD from UPLB, but in the end Hannah and I ended up becoming closer friends because Macy has since struggled to adjust to the transfer and has pushed people away in the process, including me. ANYWAY I’m glad I was introduced to Hannah because she’s one of the most hilarious people I’ve ever met. She’s also insanely talented and a hell of a performer. I’ll miss her the most when I have to graduate. Kayla: That girl who went on an exchange program in Canada that I mentioned earlier mainly goes by Kayla. I remember her notably because she’s the first EVER person I talked to when I got officially enrolled in UP - we were seated together in the welcoming assembly for freshies back in 2016. It was nothing more than a random encounter though and we didn’t end up becoming close after that. Liam: My cousin Seth is also named Liam. Morgan Natasha: I went to school with a Natasha but we all called her Tashie. She had a bit of a larger build than the rest of us which made her look domineering, but she’s really nice and is a big softie if you get to know her. She posts workout videos from time to time and has since lost a lot of weight in college. Nathan Olivia: My future daughter loljk Bailey Emily Amanda: I have an orgmate named Amanda. She’s mostly shy and reserved and I haven’t really gotten the chance to know her since she’s quiet and always has to head home earlier than the rest of us. Addison Adrienne: An old classmate from high school has had her third kid that she named Adrienne. Molly Siona: I don’t know Sionas but I do know a Fiona, heh. Emerald Chelsea: Yeah Chelsea was one of my close friends in high school. We don’t talk these days but we’ll sometimes react on each other’s posts on Twitter or Facebook which is enough for me. We used to have parties and drinking sessions at her family’s gazebo behind her house, so even though we’ve mostly lost touch I’ll always have fond memories of her. Naomi Bethany: A very very very VERY old mutual on Tumblr had this name but we mostly called her Beth. She lives in the UK and I remember her being a CM Punk fan. Had unique eyebrows but was super pretty and she used to post webcam selfies all the time. Brittany Hope: Someone I went to kindergarten with had Hope as a middle name but she went by Maezelle. Super blurry memories of her as we were never close, but I remember her specifically for her teeth lmao - she had some cavities as a kid so she had a bunch of silver teeth. OK just checked Facebook and it turns out she lives in California now, as do most of my batchmates who migrated to the States as kids. Joy: I know several people who have Joy as a middle name but don’t go by it, like high school batchmates named AJ and CJ. Jade Aaron: Old friend from high school. Like Chelsea, he was a part of our friend group. He studies in UP too and we’ll say hi and hug when we see each other, but we aren’t personally close. Andrew: Coursemate, classmate, orgmate, groupmate in several projects, and now my thesis partner. At first I found him annoying and a bit too invasive and extroverted for my liking, but I gave him a chance and he’s turned out to be a really amazing, loyal, supportive friend. He’s an extremely talented writer, singer, performer, host, and radio jock. Wimpy drinker though haaaah. James: I have a cousin named James. He lives with his family in Vietnam and since his dad is from New Zealand, he’s picked up a bit of an accent as well. Jonathon Zachariah Malachi Victoria: I had a classmate in a polsci elective with this name, but I called her Jillian during that time cos it’s her first name. Judging from social media posts, she mainly goes by JV. Solomon Sorin Celia Heather: Went to high school with a Heather and is actually attending the same course as Jillian ^ in UP now. We were quite close in high school and she used to confide in me about relationship issues, back when she was seeing someone who had plans of transitioning. Heather’s parents were very strict against the idea and went to great lengths to forbid her from seeing him, so yeah that’s what she would rant to me late into the night about. We also bonded over One Direction and Joe Sugg for a time, and those days were a blast. She also got me to be in a Twitter DM thread with Caspar Lee for my 16th birthday which was a HELLUVA SURPRISE lmao. I’ve never forgotten those days with her and I’ll always remember her fondly even though we never talk anymore. Ivy: My prof in feature writing was named Ivy. She’s... a meh instructor at best. She loved telling HER stories and HER experiences and narrating HER interviews with famous people, politicians, celebrities, athletes, etc. but she left a few lessons behind which is really what we all enrolled for lmao, so I didn’t really learn anything from her class. Jasmine: Someone I went to high school with. She was into K-Pop, J-Pop, and anime back then and I think she still is. We were always good friends towards each other even though we were never close close. She’s taking up linguistics in UP now. Jasper Kaylee Anica: An instructor from the broadcast communication department in my college. Nothing much to say about her except she weirdly tags along with one of the other professors ALL THE TIME TO EVERYWHERE, including the washroom. I’m definitely not judging but yeah, it’s what I notice first when I think of her.

SPOILERS
Just finished listening to The Two Princes on Spotify and I didn’t know I needed it till now. It’s so adorable and gay and I’m sad now. The storyline is literally so many different AUs mixed in one. Like there's: Strangers to Lovers, Enemies to Lovers, Magic, Fantasy in a (sorta) modern world. Plus the romance it so sickly cute and adorable that it makes me sad I’m single. Also I’m pretty sure that al least 70% people in the country at LGBTQI+.
There is also a lady knight who is Badass. Lady Cecily is amazing and servilely underrated.
This is just me unloading my feelings, but go check it out it’s AMAZING. Also check out the fanart and Fanfics
Also there is a dragon and some amazing songs.

Its amazing how no one wonders why Ladybug and Chat Noir know all the akumatised people’s names. Then again these are the same people who don’t realise that Marinette and Adrian look exactly like Ladybug and Chat Noir and are always missing when there is an Akuma attack.

Can’t stop thinking about the Doctor‘s reaction to Kate. Like ‘oh hi Kate. WAIT WHAT??? OMG ITS KATE STEWART’
’Kat Stewart…. KATE STEWART??’
Also the Doctor meeting themself and immediately starts flirting. Absolute Gold. Also giving off major Amy vibes.

Ill Intentions: Chapter 12

Chapter 12: Cameos
“…Why don’t you sit down, Abigail,” Will began, and he gestured lamely towards the table. There wasn’t a clock in the room, the only relief to the stiff, awkward silence the rumbling sound of the heater kicking on. It was broken, but Charlie said they’d fix it when he had a damn good reason to fix it. As long as US Weekly kept hitting the top spot, they’d not earn a repairman.
Most people just wore layers to work.
Abigail surveyed him critically as she circled the table and sat down. Despite the slight appearance, wavery and almost water-like in its rippling, it was her eyes that grabbed him. They were cold, ice cubes that’d been long forgotten and left to stick to the sides of the freezer. Will wondered if she was much like him, rumpled and slumped but ultimately rotten from the inside out.
“I got your reply,” she said as Will slumped into the seat across from her. “It was…different.”
           “Different?”
           “You didn’t sound apologetic.”
He rolled her words around in his head and weighed them, considering her. She looked to be about eighteen or so, just barely out of high school. How honest could he be? How honest should he be? There were laws about what someone could or couldn’t say in front of minors, right?
God, why the fuck had Charlie left him alone with a kid? Why had this sounded like a good idea on his part?
Given the flavor of his thoughts, Will figured he should tread very, very carefully. He was already in the shit hole with Charlie for being late. He didn’t want to risk Freddie and Charlie venturing into the basement level to promote the other Will to ‘Will Intentions’ instead.
“I do regret that it led to the death of your mother,” he said at last, and his voice softened. “I know what it’s like to grow up without parents.”
           “I grew up with parents.”
“Then to lose them, I’m sure, is not easy.”
“Are you serious right now?” she asked. Her voice darkened, hit hard and fell onto the table between them, accusing.
           “…What?”
At his stupefied expression, she reached into her messenger bag and withdrew a much abused, much reread paper. It’d been folded into a small square that she opened with the familiarity of a person that knew which way to turn it. She cleared her voice, stiffened her spine, and curled her lip. He wondered if she’d taken a plane or a car, whether they let kids her age travel alone on trains. He wondered if she’d read it by lamplight, passing over alcohol-abused words that he’d foolishly woven together late at night alone in his apartment. God, he should have at least proofread it.
“You said, ‘I wonder what it is that you feel, Abigail, since you shared that you don’t feel much at all. In my own darkest moments, I find myself consumed with either entirely too many emotions to process or not enough to address my problems.
‘In regards to your father, I can honestly say that I didn’t mean for any of this to happen. To say that that simple article has set my own life into a tailspin would be an understatement, but I can only fathom when I’m eating dinner alone in my apartment what it must be like for you to also have to eat alone now. I know institutions such as the one you’re likely contained within, and I know the thoughts likely pervading your mind. ‘What’s going to happen to me?’ you’re probably wondering. ‘Was this somehow my fault?’
‘When you feel nothing, is there a hollowness inside of you that continues reaching ever-onward, grasping, or is it that there is so much in so little a time that you feel as though you’ve simply shut down, your mind refusing to acknowledge its trauma in order to protect you? I wonder about things like that, especially since first receiving your e-mail. I wonder about your future, your hopes, your dreams. I wonder about your father and how even in his most horrific moments, he must have loved you very much to kill every girl he could find that looked like you, simply to cherish you just awhile more.
‘Mostly, though, Abigail, I wonder if you were aware that you were a lure, or if you’re actually the picture of utmost innocence that most of the news and society has decided you to be.’”
When she finished reading, she laid the paper onto the table and stared at him, hard.
Will wasn’t sure how to feel, hearing his words read aloud and in the quiet of a room whose clock was broken –had been for months. Charlie hadn’t replaced it, and he wouldn’t anytime soon. He glanced to his wrist. No watch. No time.
His writing was harsh, though, accusing. His words weren’t apologetic in the least –accusatory, more like. Striking out because he’d been struck, in truth, by words that smarted. Did he care about people? Not for awhile. Did he even stop to consider her when he published that answer in Beverly’s column? No. Hell, he hadn’t even realized it would have taken off the way that it did –if anything, he thought Charlie would have fired him for stepping out of the ‘Wedding Announcements’ cubicle.
“You want to talk about condolences for dead parents, but before you were forced to look me in the eye, that is what you sent me,” she said coldly.
“If it’s any consolation,” he said coarsely, “I was drunk when I wrote that. Even sober, I’m not much of a people person, but drunk…”
           “Drunk,” she repeated flatly.
“Yeah, drunk. I was working out of my apartment when I came across your letter.”
“You work a lot?” she asked.
“Forty to fifty hours. More now, since that ‘Chats with Bev’ article came out.”
She rolled her bottom lip into her mouth and bit down agitatedly. “You make associations that you can’t explain. I looked up your school records –you’re smart. Top of most of your classes, and a teacher once wrote about you in a psychiatric journal. She said that you could so acutely read a person that it was as though you were speaking about yourself.”
           “Thank you, Abigail.”
She blinked rapidly, glancing down to her hands. “You got into my dad’s head better than anyone else did, and all you did was write a small article. I guess I shouldn’t be so surprised that you’re something like him. Smart, a hard worker, and a bit of a drinker.”
The force of his ire didn’t let him consider his words. It unfurled, hot and furious, striking out like a whip. “I’m nothing like your father. He was a cannibalistic serial killer that targeted young, teenage girls and strangled them to death in order to eat them.”
“Oh, and who would you target that would justify it?” she wondered without missing a beat. She looked up from hands clenched to fists in her lap.
Cannibalistic serial killers, in fact, he thought savagely. And apparently drug addicts that make the mistake of cornering me in allies on dark, drunken nights.
           “I’ve never killed someone.”
           “You’ve thought about it.”
“Everyone’s thought about killing someone in one way or another,” he replied curtly. His tongue was hot and blistered. “Be it your own hand or the hand of God, everyone’s thought about murder. Even you.”
The heater let out a wild, unattractive scream, and a thin trail of smoke seeped from underneath it. Abigail gave an alarmed jump, and Will glanced to it, then back to her.
“It does that,” he said –not entirely reassuring, but more to avoid her running from the room and causing alarm. He wanted to prolong his termination as long as he could, thanks.
“…You know, this is more of what I had in mind when I first wondered who you were as a person,” Abigail said once the whining cry of the heater died back down to something bearable. “You made me feel like I’d made a mistake coming here with that first introduction, but this seems more like you.”
Fuck, she was right, wasn’t she? Charlie was going to have his ass over this if she made a complaint. After work –if he made it that far, in truth –he was going to get a stiff, strong drink. His thoughts tumbled, trembled like the beating of hummingbird’s wings, too fast for him to catch. The Game, The Body, The Watch, The Girl, The Killer –
           The Game.
“Ask anyone and you’ll find I’m not that popular,” he said uncomfortably. Her stare was stinging nettle underneath his skin.
           “They tell you that?”
           “No, but I know.”
“In High School, they tell us that that’s just insecurities,” she replied, and maybe it was the way in which she tilted her head, but it made Will stop and look at her, really look as though it was the first time he’d ever seen her. His throat tightened, and he had to force down a lump at the look in her eye, the way she crossed one leg over the other and folded her arms.
Will didn’t often like to think of his childhood. His past was something he liked to keep crushed down, down, down where not even whiskey could reel it back up to inspect. There was something in the expression on her face, though, that reminded him of one of the most popular girls in high school, Nicole.
Will didn’t much like Nicole for the same reasons that the look on Abigail’s face made him instantly want to put as much distance between her and his person as was humanly possible. It was both dark and innocent, conniving yet kind. It was people like that that led to that one kid in high school killing himself. Nicole had even shown up to the funeral even though she was the one two weeks before that’d told him he should kill himself if living was truly so burdensome. She’d even shed some tears for him, telling those around her that ‘he could have just asked for help’.
“…I know they don’t like me much the same way I know that you were a lure for your father, much the same way I now know that you were completely and unequivocally aware that you were a lure, Abigail,” he said slowly.
She didn’t blink, her stare drilling holes into his skin. Was that where the rot would come out, oozing from him? Could she see all of the ugly, sickening bits of him that most people couldn’t see but surely felt, couldn’t place but somehow knew? The Chesapeake Ripper saw it.
The Chesapeake Ripper liked it.
“I’ll deny it,” she said, and her lip twitched –the remnants of a smirk she knew she shouldn’t show.
“I never said that I was going to accuse you. I’m just saying that I know.”
“Yeah? What else do you think you know about me?”
“I know that despite your claims at secrecy, there’s no way you managed to get here without some form of approval unless you’re an adult. So, either a psychiatrist from the facility gave you permission and is waiting in good graces down the hall from us, or you’re at least eighteen. I know that you were well-aware that you were a lure the same way that I know you have taken on your father’s skills of manipulation with ease. He taught you everything that you know. You can hunt, and you know how to do it without looking like the hunter.
“You’re uncomfortable in your clothes, though, Abigail, and sometimes your hands shake. You know what to do, but the application of it is scary, isn’t it? You’re being called out on all of the things your father taught you to hide. How does that feel?”
“And what makes you think that you’re right?” she shot back. Defensive.
He leaned back in his chair and rubbed his eyes roughly, knocking his glasses askew. He wondered what time it was, if their silences and long stares and scowls had drained the hours away or if it’d only been five minutes.
If he’d had his fucking watch…
“You were taught to hunt, and I was taught to fish,” he said into his hands before blinking blearily at her. “You went out with your father to catch your quarry, and I was taught to let the quarry come to me. It makes a person observant.”
           “That’s not just being observant.”
“You’re right,” he agreed. “But seeing as how this is a first meeting, that’s about as much as you’ll be able to get out of me.”
“First meeting?” she asked. “Do you think I’d want to contact you again after this?”
Someone shouted down the hall, and a door slammed. Will glanced to the windows whose blinds had been drawn, then back to her. “You didn’t look to the door expectantly when I mentioned a guardian, meaning you’re not waiting on anyone. You’re eighteen, and the psychiatric ward can’t keep you. What’d you use, your personal savings or your inheritance to get a ticket out here?”
Silence. She shifted, uncomfortable, and Will dove for it.
           “Tell me.”
Her jaw lifted stubbornly, but as the silence droned on and the heater let out another plaintive squeal, she let out a curt sigh. “I lifted someone’s ticket at the train station.”
He wouldn’t let her have the satisfaction of him showing just how impressed he was at her resourcefulness. Things like that were the reason, he supposed, why kids were a terrible idea for him.
“What’s your next step?” Will wondered. “Homeless shelter? Stealing a credit card for a hotel room? This isn’t ‘Home Alone: Lost in New York.’”
“Women’s battered shelters always look out for young women like me,” she replied.
“Risky. They ask a lot of questions these days since people like you keep taking up bed space from those in need.”
           “I’m in need.”
           Will snorted. “I doubt that.”
He patted his pockets down, then let out an irritable sigh when he realized that he’d forgotten his cloves, too. Fucking Ripper. Fucking watch. “Any chance you picked up smoking in your post-grievance rebellion?”
And surprisingly, she reached into her backpack and pulled out a small box of Marlboro’s. “They’re menthol.”
“Everything’s fucking menthol,” he muttered, and he grabbed the box from her. “Smoking’s back for you,” he added, lighting one.
He pointedly tucked the box into his pocket, and Abigail leaned back into her chair to sulk.
“What do you recommend, then, since you think that plan won’t work?” she asked as he lipped at the minty flavor.
“I’d say that you could stay with me, but my apartment isn’t entirely safe.”
This time, she didn’t fight the sneer making her lip curl. “Are you a mean drunk?”
“No, but the Chesapeake Ripper is sending me letters, and the last thing that I need is a serial killer’s daughter being killed by another serial killer,” he returned in far more even tones than he’d expected. “Least of all in my apartment.”
That, and it’s torn to shit, isn’t it?
“I appreciate your concern over me.”
“Don’t get any ideas,” he warned. “I’m getting enough publicity. Word gets out that you’re here, and I won’t have a moment’s peace.”
“Then what’s the plan?” she asked impatiently.
This isn’t my problem, he wanted to scream. You’re a biproduct of a psychopath’s rampage, but just because I reported it doesn’t make it my problem. Why is this my problem?
Be it the look on her face, though, or maybe it was the look on Jack Crawford’s face should he find out who’d come to visit Will, but he couldn’t very well leave her, could he? Although she wasn’t his problem, hadn’t he first been the one to bring her world crashing down? Hadn’t he been the very reason that she was sitting right in front of him?
I think that it takes only the barest of nudges to make you fall into the sordid crevices of your mind that you like to pretend don’t exist, The Chesapeake Ripper had said. Abigail may not be his problem, but Will could see how her problems only began because of him. Because of his mind. Because of the way he thought.
He sighed and stubbed out the cigarette in the ash tray that Charlie liked to hide underneath the table –as though no one in the building knew that he smoked.
“Wait here,” he said curtly, and he got up and walked out of the conference room.
-
           “No.”
           “Beverly –”
“Are you joking?” she hissed, and the glare she cut his way was ruthless. “Please tell me that you’re joking.”
           “She’s got nowhere to go.”
           “How’s that my problem?”
It wasn’t. It wasn’t Will’s problem, either. He sat just on the edge of her desk –at least her desk didn’t wobble like his did. Maybe he’d exacerbate the faulty leg on his desk just enough to break it so that Charlie had to buy a new one. Maybe, just maybe, with the extra money that he was reeling in with ‘Will Intentions’, Charlie would be able to afford a new desk for him.
The watch, in all of its glory, would have surely been able to remind him to feel excited about such things like new desks and a popular column. He refused to look to his wrist where its absence needled.
“It’s not our problem, but…” But? Will looked down the hall where the conference room was. His spit was rust, and he swallowed raggedly. “I feel…responsible for her. It’s not our problem, but I can’t just…”
Just? He swallowed again, harder, then looked at her plaintively. He thought of clocks and time and how it was both his master and his mercy, and he wondered just how much of Abigail’s time had been consumed with Will Graham and all of his behaviors as of late. She’d even looked into his college years, for fuck’s sake. Surely, in her thoroughness, he could give her something?
“Good hell, Graham, if I didn’t know better I’d say that you care about her,” Beverly said, and her merciful smile encouraged him to smile, too.
“I don’t care about much, but she’s just a kid. If you don’t let her stay with you, then I’m going to have to ask Freddie.”
That did the trick. At the mention of Freddie, Beverly’s smile turned sour, and she looked back to Freddie’s office with an expression verging on hostile.
“She won’t let go of the fact that you let her help you with the last riddle,” she complained. As an afterthought, “If I have to hear about that room for the deaf one more time…”
“She forced herself into the situation, and I was pressed for time,” Will replied quickly. “I asked for your help all of the other times, and it was you that I wanted for the gala.”
The Gala. The Ripper. He thought of how it’d felt, the Ripper’s hand over his eyes, blinding him because he was allowing himself to be blind.
This is the most fun you’ve had in years.
“So now it’s me that you want to babysit an eighteen-year-old whose father ate innocent women?” Beverly clarified.
“Yeah, I thought about my apartment, but…”
He didn’t have to finish that thought. They shared grimaces with one another, and Beverly leaned back in her chair, flipping and turning a pen about. It was a nice make, something with an angled and sharp nib. Likely it’d give a good flourish to notation, the curve of a ‘g’ or ‘y’ looping and graceful. It was probably sharp enough to stab, given the need, too. He wondered if she wrote in passing after work, or if journalism was the only writing that she needed. He wondered if she struggled the same way as he did with adjectives, with the right sort of pace to keep readers just interested enough to want more. He wondered if her purple prose fell flat –surely not, with a pen like that.
“I’ll take her, Graham, but I’m not babysitting her. She’s going to get a job, she’s going to start working towards something, and then we’ll come up with a new plan,” Beverly said at last. “I have a heart, but I’m not a charity case. I don’t want kids yet.”
“I promise that she’s not much of a kid.”
“Charlie’s at a lunch meeting that ran late,” she said, and her smile curled devilishly at the edges. “I told him that you have a heart condition that you don’t like to talk about; that’s why you were late. If you stay out of his way when he gets back, he won’t have your head.”
           “Thank you,” he replied sincerely.
“You owe me,” she said, pointedly.
Will figured that he owed her for more than that, though. He owed Beverly for a lot of things, from lying to accidentally giving a good lead to someone like Freddie. He owed her for the late hours, the danger, and the fact that as she’d strolled about the steps of the gala, The Chesapeake Ripper had dared to ask Will how he’d kill her.
I’d much prefer for you to use your bare hands.
He left her with her fountain pen and a desk whose left leg didn’t wobble, and he sat at his desk for some time, thinking. The time on the computer said 2:56, but it didn’t feel like the early afternoon. He’d missed breakfast. He’d missed lunch. He’d missed water. He’d missed another cup of coffee. Will fished out a packet of stale peanuts and choked them down, staring at the time. His wrist was bare, his thoughts were scattered, and as he chewed morosely he wondered if the Chesapeake Ripper only wanted to ruin his day, or if he had anything else in store since taking his watch.
The thought that followed after, was: and just what the hell are you going to do about it?
It wasn’t until 3:29 that he collected himself to begin checking e-mails. Serial killer, serial killer, serial killer. Questions, questions, questions. Accusations, accusations, accusations. Time was bleeding from him, and a headache was setting in. He’d forgotten to get water. That thought, much like others, struck him, then fell away after little force. He still didn’t get up to get water.
           Then:
To: Will Graham & Co.,
I hope that you enjoyed the overture. I imagined something along the F-Harmonic scale, although music in all of its intricacies gives room for creative differences.
                                                                                                                       -Another Avid Fan
He stared at the e-mail for far longer than he should have. In the chaotic jumble of his thoughts, Will felt the strains of a fading song, something beautiful and haunting. Hadn’t he also thought of the music along the F-Harmonic range as he’d stared at the body? Had Jack Crawford witnessed him seeing so deeply? So intimately?
           Are serial killers your muse?
He thought about forwarding it to Beverly, another olive branch since the writer had even bothered to include Co. Will Graham and Company. It could have been a sitcom, if there was anything remotely funny about people whose throats now occupied the neck of a cello.
There was something personal in the way the person had included another to their signature, though, that stayed his fingers from clicking the ‘Fwd.’ icon. Another Avid Fan. Not a fan of Tattler News. Not a fan of Will Graham and Company. The first avid fan was a fan of Will. Another avid fan surely felt the same, too. Did they see him swaying to the song? Did they linger in the crowd, watching him try to break free of the line to go inside? Did they mark him with Jack as he was given entry past the partitions?
He printed a copy for himself, then deleted the original. Will told himself that it was because of Jack that he didn’t tell anyone –he’d promised not to entertain another psychopath in the papers, after all. In truth, as he headed back to the conference room in order to tell Abigail that she didn’t have to sleep at a homeless camp, he figured that out of anyone else in the world, the last person that he should have to lie to was himself.

10-20 for the unusual asks :)
Oh lord Fiona that’s so many, um-
10. name a dog
My sweet boy Spike!!
11. what unusual talent do you have?
Uh....okay. Apparently I can emulate the noise of this one endangered ungulate species enough that they respond?? My sister has a video of me walking down the zoo fence just “talking” to this one stag (idk the name of the species, I’ll add it to the tags if I find it in my photo library)
12. what’s the most interesting schools gossip you’ve ever heard?
Apparently my old Chemistry teacher walked in on two students having sex in the teacher’s bathroom
i was a good child i kept out of the gossip
13. ever prank called a store?
Oh god no. I’d be paranoid they’d trace the call somehow
14. what’s your coffee order?
Not really....a fan of the taste of coffee. Also I shouldn’t get coffee bc even the slightest amount gets me wired as all hell. I prefer hot chocolate! (Caribou has this dark chocolate hot cocoa that I would kill a man for)
15. what’s a question do you constantly get asked?
“What’s your major?” [Me: Theatre arts. Not acting, the backstage stuff] “Oh, so what can you do with that?”
16. if you had to get a tattoo right now, what would you get and where?
I’ve actually been throwing around the idea of getting “Life is not the things that you do, it’s who you’re doing them with*” on me! As for where...idk. Maybe my forearm?? I have to give it more thought
(*it’s a lyric phrase from the song “Cecily Smith” and I love it s o  m u c h. I linked Will Connolly’s version bc it’s the version I listened to first, but the original is sung by Peter Friedman and they’re both so good!!)
17. google the top song from the year you were born
“Believe” by Cher!
18. rant about your favorite musician
Okay, l i s t e n. Though I’m bad at following up with him, Owl City is still a good and relevant artist and he makes GOOD music, okay, even if the lyrics don’t make much sense. “Fireflies” was a BOP and I’m so glad I heard it on the radio when I was 8, bc that album became so worn out and it shaped my music taste in the most influential young years of my life. Adam Young makes catchy music that is soft yet still happy and upbeat and although a lot of it is electronica, he doesn’t SCREECH the effects in random places or in generic patterns like a lot of modern-day pop, but instead lets it interweave together to form a really cool layered tune. Also, FUCK that Tumblr post I saw 3 years ago making fun of his music and anyone who still listens to it. I’ve held onto that and b o y if I’m not bitter as FUCK-
19. what’s your favorite teacher you’ve ever had?
All my English teachers from 8th-12th grade were the BOMB
(It lasted through high school. Then my college prof became a meme in the group chat, and not for the good reasons)
20. describe your blog in 3-5 words
Why, overshares, needs tags

I got my ears pierced tonight yall jksfdkjkkjkdhjkdsjkh I deadass woke up from a nap and went “after dinner I’m getting some piercings in my ear lobes”. so I did???? and i’m so happy???? they’re lil green studs which is great because I’m a Slytherin.
I’m going back to that place in 4ish weeks (so like the first weekend in February) so that they can take out the piercings they put in and then show me how to put in and take the earrings I bought tonight. this was honestly such a good impulse ngl like normally I try my best to ignore my impulses and redirect my attention... thanK GOD I did not do that tonight, I really needed it.

my birthday’s on halloween, which kinda sucks for the sole reason that it’s a weekday this year, so. i can’t get WASTED, but we’ll get p lit since i’m turning 21. anyway, back to your regularly scheduled posts.
