if you’re interested in seeing some more blind!light, i recommend trashking’s in the eyes of god! brilliantly written and a really interesting exploration of how light would deal with losing his sight as kira
Yes, I actually do have it in my bookmarks already. I don't think I'll get to read it anytime soon, though. I also feel like I'll need about a week to prepare (my body yk) for that one because, just by reading the tags, I know it might hold a kind of vibe I need to conjure a certain amount of patience for.

We all know that celebrities are on a different frequency when it comes to reality; we know this because that’s what we love about them. The dirty laundry, the drama extraordinare, and a level divaness that has us drooling with envy. And though she’s thoroughly familiar with the first two in all stages of her life, Darling of Promised Promises @infamous-if - ness (Infamousness? Infamousity? Certainly not infamy) is far from a diva.
Maybe it’s because she doesn’t see herself as having ‘made it’ despite the strong reception from fans and strangers alike. Maybe it’s the way she swans through life like it’s all rosy tinted and bubble gum gum drops. Yes, fans, Darling - also known as Alana Carita - is as dreamy-eyed romantic as the majority of her lyrics imply. Ex-bff Seven Lawless sure knew what she was doing when she picked that stagename. It’s a surprise that burgeoning fame and the aforementioned dirty laundry has done nothing to knock her from the stratosphere and back down to the earth. And, after speaking with her, I’m kind of glad for it. Sure, once you get to know her it’s easy to learn that her head’s steadier on her shoulders than it first appears but ...

Anyway thinking about how in the data book, Jin's family is just his mom, and how we know that his mom was killed by a Neighbour.
Was that the inciting incident for him to join Border, because he had nowhere else to go? Was it Mogami who saved him, and took him in as penance for not being fast enough or strong enough to save his mom as well?
And Jin who had lost everything, is given a new purpose, and learns to protect people so nobody else has to go through what he did. He familiarises himself with triggers but also with his own side effect, which until border had been a strange precognitive power that he's never been able to explain. He finds a place again, and a family, and people to love who love him, only for war to rip everything apart again. (Delusion mode on) the first large scale invasion of Mikado City is likely due to (old) Border being understaffed after the war in Aristera, and I think about that scene in miwas flashback with his sister, begging Jin to help him—how the guilt of being older and stronger and this tragedy repeating itself despite his efforts, and how much he could have changed if he had just done things differently because he saw all this with his side effect.
I dunno. He's a very lonely person, I think, isolated by his experiences and ability. People put him on a pedestal because he can see the future, but he's no god, and he's only 19.
I appreciate the friendships he has with arashiyama and tachikawa, who see him as more than an omen of disaster or a measuring stick for the best outcome, taking him out for walks to distract him from an otherwise 24/7 job or sparring for fun.
And I think about his relationship with Yuuma a lot, about how he willingly and easily gave up his mentor's black trigger for the boy's admittance into Border. Seeing a part of himself in Yuuma, maybe, in a young teen all alone with nothing to live for, and manipulating a reason into existence for him.
He's just so inherently good, and it hurts because he's got so little.
