Well I'm a big softy....

Story time.

Went to the farm store for chicken feed, told my kids and hubby. No more chicks since we have enough chickens. Kiddos went to the chick section and there were no chicks in sight, just a few cute rabbits, but then we heard a few chirps and there were 2 little chicks.... One of them has a crossed beak and is missing an eye, the poor dear is about 1 week old? If that. the other is about 3 weeks old and very skiddish...

They had no food and dirty water, the staff said that they were in the back since nobody wanted them......

So I told my husband that I wanted them...

Now I have 2 chicks that I'm trying to get feeling better and give lots of love to. I don't think we will get eggs from them, or anything really, but they need love and pampering so that's what I Started to do, and I think it's important for my kids to learn to not only take care of but to nurture back to health of animals. Chickens are very social and loving animals, and love to be loved and spoiled.

The kids named them, the older chick was named flower, and the other pirate.
