The Genius Club: Remarkable Individuals with Exceptionally High IQs
Tumblr media
IQ stands for “intelligence quotient,” which is a measure used to estimate a person’s intelligence. It is determined through IQ tests, which assess various cognitive abilities such as problem-solving, logical reasoning, memory, and verbal skills. IQ scores are often presented as a number, with the average IQ being around 100.
To understand IQ in simple terms, imagine you and your friend taking an IQ test. Let’s say your IQ score is 120, while your friend’s IQ score is 90. This means that your score is higher than the average, indicating above-average intelligence, while your friend’s score is lower than the average.
Keep in mind that IQ tests have their limitations and may not capture the full spectrum of human intelligence, such as creativity or emotional intelligence. IQ is just one way to measure cognitive abilities, and it doesn’t define a person’s worth or potential. People can excel in different areas, and intelligence comes in many forms.
It’s important to note that measuring and comparing intelligence can be a complex task, and IQ (intelligence quotient) is just one way to assess cognitive abilities. Additionally, IQ scores are not available for every individual, so it’s difficult to provide a definitive list of people with the highest IQs. However, there are a few individuals who are widely recognized for their exceptional intellect and have achieved high scores on IQ tests. Here are a few examples:
Terence Tao: An Australian-American mathematician with an estimated IQ between 225 and 230. He has made significant contributions to various branches of mathematics and has received numerous awards and honors.
Marilyn vos Savant: She holds the Guinness World Record for the highest recorded IQ, which is reported to be around 190-228. Vos Savant gained fame through her column in Parade magazine, where she answers questions on a wide range of topics.
Christopher Hirata: An American astrophysicist who became the youngest American to win a gold medal in the International Physics Olympiad at the age of 13. His IQ is estimated to be around 225.
Kim Ung-Yong: A South Korean child prodigy who began attending university at the age of 4. He reportedly had an IQ of 210, though he has chosen to step away from the public eye and focus on his career as an engineer.
Garry Kasparov: Widely considered one of the greatest chess players in history, the Russian grandmaster and former World Chess Champion has an IQ estimated to be around 190.
It’s worth noting that IQ is just one measure of intelligence, and many highly intelligent individuals may not have had their IQ tested or may not be widely recognized for their intellectual abilities.
Terence Tao: A Mathematical Marvel
Terence Tao, born on July 17, 1975, is an Australian-American mathematician renowned for his exceptional intelligence and profound contributions to the field of mathematics. With an estimated IQ between 225 and 230, Tao’s intellectual capabilities have astounded the academic world.

Book of the Week No.27 An Abundance of Katherines by John Green Rate: 9/10 Favorite Line: "Books are the ultimate Dumpees: put them down and they’ll wait for you forever; pay attention to them and they always love you back." Review: The second YA novel of John Green, 'An Abundance of Katherines', was first published in 2006. This nerdy story is about Colin Singleton's formulation of Romantic Love Theorem based on his past 19 relationships with girls all named 'Katherine', who all dumped him. The book also contains an appendix by Daniel Biss, which seemed to be a very close friend of Green. This appendix is comprised with in-depth discussion of actual and factual explanation for the complex equations tackled from the book. This was put at the latter pages of the book and even insighted some factual and truthful researches on the likes with Singleton's search for accurate Love Theorem. It all suggests that mathematics could be used to calculate the end and even duration of a relationship. Personally, I find it all funny at first that mathematics is the main theme of this YA novel which is concretely linked to romantic portions of the story as well. The footnotes and some facts blurted through out the novel got me like, well I think that must have some fact points. I am imagining how Green used weeks or months to properly place the research needed for this. The idea of a being prodigy person and your conflict with your past relationships all named Katherine is I think the headshot catch of this nerdy novel that kept me turning the pages. Indeed, I love Green's writings which I also considered as one of my favorite styles. #fiction #books #novel #johngreen #anabunfanceofkatherines #childprodigy #genius #statistics #probability #bookstagram #bookrecommendations #bookreview #booklover #booknerd #bookaddict #bookphotography #goodreads https://www.instagram.com/p/Cf0JmD9pH-d/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Dear Sentient Matter,
I always try new fields of work as if I am the main character of a wunderkind coming of age movie - you know the ones where there's always one scene where the main character trys to get into an internship despite perceived lack of experience due to being young and the main character is like "hey, you know that problem your team has been working on for weeks to solve - I solved it in 10 minutes with a banana and a toothbrush." And then the humble college freshman gets promoted to ceo the next day.
Turns out that is a terrible way to try to get an internship in real life.
I stood 2 hours in line at an engineering job fair to talk to SpaceX just to completely choke and talk about how my two goals in life were to "work on a team that builds things that go into space and become a well known singer/songwriter and then I handed over my resume with a hastily scrawled "Sentient Chemicals" and then a sub par doodle of the Spotify logo.
This is not a proud moment for me.
Apparently I am not a wunderkind
Apparently I'm just a kind
One of a kind
Ha
No wondrous, just a lot last lithing thing with basic human rights and needs and deserves to meet those needs without being special
Some of this is obvious to some people but I am processing this for myself.
That's all for this evening
Good bye Sentient Matter, you matter.
P.S. here is a picture of my pad Thai container because I think I fucked up my soup ok goodnight.

#IsaiahGyamfi, a 2-year old boy from #Ghana, is getting international attention as a #childprodigy that knows how to count in at least 4 different #languages and how to solve complex #math problems. Isaiah started showing extraordinary intelligence at the age of five months, his mother Jazelle told Mirror. She said she noticed him enjoying learning one day when he was watching a video on her phone on YouTube and then she decided to put on a video about #Japanesenumbers. Jazelle said Isaiah listened to the video repeatedly until he could recite the numbers back to back. He learned to count up to 40 in #Japanese by himself in just less than 24 hours. When Isaiah was just 4-months old, Jazelle, who is an early childhood education teacher based in #London, already started creating a learning environment for him. She put numeracy and literacy flashcards in their living room so Isaiah could learn through visuals. Months passed by and #Isaiah had always been surprising both his parents when he pointed out the correct letters and eventually sound them out using phonics. He also practiced writing numbers and solving Math problems by himself. #Jazelle also noticed that her son enjoys learning different languages so she showed him a video in Spanish and gave him #Spanish flashcards. He now speaks several languages such as #English, Spanish, #French, #Italian, #Twi, #Yoruba, and Japanese. Jazelle began to capture Isaiah’s learning achievements and share videos in an Instagram account for Isaiah. Several people are amazed at how Isaiah is actually enjoying learning, as evident in the videos. Franz Liszt- Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2
In my continued bid to torture myself by listening to Franz Liszt, I came across Jonah Ho who plays these astounding works from memory... aged 9. Yes, just 9 years old. Watch with a mixture of awe and dismay. In all seriousness, this just demonstrates what children can do when they put their minds to something. Hence why we should introduce children to a musical education.
