Percabeth comes second to Chrisse/Chrislisse.

Contains major spoilers for The Mark Of Athena.

Not trying to start any ship wars out there. I'm just here to share my opinion. Most of the Percy Jackson fandom views Percabeth as the best ship, and it's actually pretty good, but Clarisse and Chris, are in my opinion, a much better ship.

Why is that? Cause the milestones Percabeth has reached, Chrisse/Chrislisse reached first.

Annabeth had to suffer through the pain of her loved one going missing, possibly being dead, for 6 months, not remembering anything, but her. Tragic and yet romantic. Surely some brute Ares Daughter and a forgotten Hermes Son couldn't compare, right?

Except Clarisse also had to suffer through the pain of her loved one going missing, possibly dead, for over a year, not remember anything, but his pain and suffering, and when he was found, she stayed by him, begging him to remember her and doing her best to nurse him back to health, praying to the gods for the chance to love him as much as she physically could when he'd be healthy and safe once again, and when he was healed, that's exactly what she did.

Also sounds excessively romantic and tragic, doesn't it now? Dare I say, more romantic and tragic than Percabeth?

Surely not, right? I mean, Percy and Annabeth suffered through Tartarus together. They would have gone crazy if they were alone. They kept each other safe and protected and they made it through. It's a classic "True Love Beats All", is it not? Chrisse/Chrislisse is good, but not that good.

Except Chris went through the Labyrinth (a dangerous, deadly place, just like Tartarus) alone and he did go crazy, only for Clarisse to find him and do everything possible to help him. And on top of that, she also willingly went through the Labyrinth, after finding Chris, while knowing damn well what consequences this choice could have, to find a way to destroy the godforsaken place that had the nerve to ruin her soulmate.

I don't know about you, but I did not see Percy going down to Tartarus with the intention to take it down, brick by brick if needed, just because Annabeth got hurt down there.

It's important to note that Clarisse and Chris did their "went missing, went crazy, was found, got better, found love" journey a whole ass book before Percabeth was even canon! They were living the love story of the century, putting Romeo and Juliet to shame, while Percy still couldn't pick between his redhead and his blond. It's cute that Percabeth later on tried copying them, thinking we wouldn't notice, but let's be real, nobody is better than the original. You can't outdo the doer!

May I also mentioned that Chrisse/Chrislisse combines the tragic "friends/lovers to enemies" trope with the incredibly sexy "enemies to lovers" trope with toppings of "I can fix him" (she did fix him!), "I love you not despite but regardless your past mistakes" and "It's you and me against the world" because Clarisse loved Chris when others still saw him as the camp traitor. Percabeth wishes they had that much flavour.

Thus proven.

I’m a big fan of this headcanon that Chris has some kind of „son of Hermes superpower” where he just knows exactly, where he is, like an internal gps. It explains why Luke would send him into the labyrinth and also why despite going absolutely INSANE he still walks out of the labyrinth right next to his childhood crush’s home, it was just the place he was instinctively drawn to, because he needed safety and nobody makes him feel as safe as Clarisse la Rue

I WAS LOOKING THROUGH THE TA DISCORD FOR SMTH AND I FOUND AN OLD ACTOR AU AND I AM HERE TO SHARE

PJO/HoO/ToA are the main shows and its sequels

That one scene on the Princess Andromeda before Beckendorf died, when they dump his bag out and it's a bunch of peaches? They had to reshoot that ~27 times

Percy and Ethan are actually best friends, they have SO much fun with their on screen rivalry

Same with Luke and Percy

Luke and Annabeth are sibs, she was adopted by May after she ran away

Jason hangs out on set while he waits for Thalia, he likes the free entertainment

Luke is a child actor

Silena and Lee are best friends

Lee still hangs out on set even after his character dies because he can

Chris breaks characters a lot because he cannot be serious

He is everyones best friend though

The blooper reel/BTS are mostly just the cast being absolute IDIOTS

Percy likes to make fun of (affectionately) of Grover while he gets into his makeup and costume

A lot of the couples are dating IRL(Beckengard, Chrisse, Percabeth)

They do those silly videos where they bring cats on set and that is the best day of Ethans live

There are two spin-off shows that take place during PJO

One about the TA

When Alabaster shows up, everyone is confused until someone just pulls out a screen capture from PJO S5 and points out that Al is standing behind Ethan

We’ve been talking so much about the scream Dior gives us after losing her first maimer (the spear) because it’s such a character foreshadow but honestly. Even the quiet menacingly soft way Dior uses to speak and walk and how she rationalizes her violent actions while saying “I’m not really interested in actually killing or maiming you” these are SO BEAUTIFULLY crafted because we know she’s just seeking approval.

Also, a beautiful nod to the line “I guess glory is fine but revenge is better”. “Rue” means long regret/grudge. Don’t cross those Clarisse loves, dont betray her - a girl who is willing to go the end of the world to be accepted and who treats both traitors she deeply loves (Chris, Silena) as heroes because she KNOWS the gods suck (her dad is awful to her, her and Chris have bonded over this before as he clearly has the same opinion, so does Percy).

Clarisse will forgive those she love blindly but she will take her revenge and more often than not move on. It just happens that move on is sometimes forgiving the guy u have a crush, sometimes is glowing red and killing a bunch of monsters and slaying a giant snake while calling a titan “too chicken to go against her”.

My point being, you’ll be in clarisse’s bad books until you fight, then she kinda moves on. It’s sort of how she ended up with the stupid decision of not going to manhattan and forbidding ares cabin to go- all over a small quarrel about a quest with Apollo cabin. Her logic is calm, calculated - her reactions are violent and passionate. But if she feels the resolution, she is done with it, but if it never comes, yeah - it’s bad.

when I started shipping it if I did: When I first read the PJO books,perhaps. I've shipped them almost a decade and half,lol.

my thoughts: I love the canon tragedy of Luke and Thalia,but I also find myself reading cute fics of Thalia and Luke as adults sometimes,lol.

What makes me happy about them: How long-lived the fandom is.

What makes me sad about them: "He's dead,she's immortal".

things done in fanfic that annoys me: Whenever Luke is treated as a punching bag and just takes it. I can see him understand he massively fucked up and accepting people ressenting him,but this is Luke Castellan we're talking about. The guy would at least try to defend himself and/or flee the place.

things I look for in fanfic: Fics where Thalia leaves the Hunt,Luke somehow is alive and they gradually get together,canon be damned.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: I only ship Thalia with Luke. And age-appropriate Luke/Piper(either a-year-after-the-pinetree Luke/TLH-Piper because they're both 15,or Post-TLO Luke with 19+yo Piper. The latter one seems more possible because Underworld shenanigans).

My happily ever after for them: The thing I look on fics,plus them living a domestic life - slice-of-life,but with all the weirdness seen on the books. The best of both canon and non-canon,if I might.

who is the big spoon/little spoon: They alternate,depending on the mood.

what is their favorite non-sexual activity: Either karaoke or reading. Luke gets books in any language but English(Hermes is the god of language and travelers,so Luke got insta-fluency powers. It takes a bit of a toll on him,tho),Thalia has to settle for audiobooks because her dyslexia is particularly severe. Also,they're both avid ficwriters and get very passionate about their interpretations.

my thoughts: I love how it showed Clarisse's soft side and started her friendship with Silena(and maybe Beckendorf).
