A/n: honestly have no clue about this episode besides the Star Wars group hallucination Hope, Lizzie and Josie have?

"Nothing from Hope, Lizzie or Josie. Guess I can look over the pamphlets I got from Whitmore." You sighed, flicking your phone onto your bed as you sat at your desk.

"Please tell me that isn't the only college she's looking at..." Mary-Louise complained, whilst Nora rolled her eyes and B/m/n tried to get a closer look at the pamphlets.

/// Meanwhile in Hope, Josie's and Lizzie's shared hallucination ///

"Am I the only one who noticed that it's actually Ethan?" Josie asked as Lizzie rambled about the characters in her plagiarised story that the three were hallucinating.

"We didn't know Ethan when Lizzie wrote this story?" Hope frowned, as Lizzie stammered.

"Well, at least it's not Y/n, but we're not children either, maybe our minds are punching out more current work, also, who cares?" Lizzie replied, frowning slightly as a memory came over her.

"What's that face for?"

"I can't remember who Y/n plays in this..." Lizzie admitted as Hope raised an eyebrow, wondering why you were being brought up right now, a pang in her stomach screaming that she missed you, missing Landon too.

/// Time Skip ///

"Like your two week crush on Jed?"

"For the last time, I was eleven!" Lizzie yelled as Josie revealed how she'd been reading Lizzie's diary when they were eleven.

A thunking as the vent opened, a small person landing gracefully as they jumped out, had Hope, Lizzie and Josie glancing over in confusion. Lizzie had just said this was where the story ends, so what was happening?

"Who are you?"

"I'm Hope Marshall, and I'm here to rescue you." The 13 year old Hope declared as she removed her helmet.

"This is where we live, and plot our revenge on the galatic dominion." Young Hope explained as she turned the lights on.

"We?" Older Hope enquired, freezing in place as a 12 year old you uncloaked, leaving Lizzie to look confused.

"Yeah, no, that's not what Y/n's character was, Y/n's supposed to be Lord Marshall's loyal sidekick-" Lizzie began but Hope explained this was her sequel.

"I always wanted to be close to Y/n, so I guess I wrote it in here." Hope admitted, watching the 12 year old you talk with 13 year old Hope.

"Before we fight anything, we need to figure out what's in that armour." Lizzie interrupted Young Hope, who glanced at Young You before explaining.

"Oh that's easy, it's the Hollow, but it has the Phoenix stone." Young Hope explained, looking at Young You as Older Hope froze.

"Phoenix stone?" Lizzie frowned, but Josie shared her confused look.

"Y/n's mothers died destroying it, she saw their deaths by astral projecting into their car, it tormented her dreams for years." Older Hope explained as Josie frowned.

"13 year old you really cared for Y/n."

"How could I not?" Hope shrugged, looking at the ground instead of at the younger versions of you and her on the balcony above.

/// Back to the Real World ///

You were napping, a leaflet about Whitmore College Campus on your face as your ring glowed softly in the moonlight.

"Her ring?" "That's new..." Nora and Mary-Louise whispered to each other, not seeing the knowing look on B/m/n's face.

"Just for once, I wanted to love someone and not lose them, you know?" Hope admitted, not realising what was right in front of her, who was in front of her.

"Oh, hey, how'd you sleep?" A newly returned Ryan Clarke asked as he stepped out of the cabin bathroom.

"Clarke." Hope glared, but she couldn't hide the shock on her face, neither could Lizzie or Josie.

(SPOILERS if you haven't seen the show yet):

After what happened to Clark in the last episode we see that Lois, Jimmy, and the Newskid Legion are searching all over Metropolis for him and they name drop some location found in Metropolis.

As you can see from the map of Metropolis in the DC Heroes role playing manual, Park Ridge and Bakerline are one of the six boroughs of Metropolis. Park Ridge makes its first appearance in the Adventures of Superman #447 (1988) while Bakerline first appeared in Action Comics #599 (1988)

As the General is interrogating Clark we het a hologram flashback to his time with Waller in the army and Waller name drops the General's first name Sam. So we can conclude that the General is General Sam Lane (this is double confirmed in the next episode).

Sam Lane makes his first appearance in the silver age in Superman Girl Friend, Lois Lane #13 (1959). He's the typical farmer dad that Superman saves and meets. Nothing too special about it.

Now, GENERAL Sam Lane makes his first appearance in the Adventures of Superman #424 (1986)

Like her MAwS counterpart, Lois' relationship with her dad is VERY strained as you can tell by the panels here from the comic (W: Marv Wolfman, P: Jerry Ordway, I: Mike Machlan, C: Tony Ziuko, L: John Costanza). In the comics he wanted a son and Lois became that stand-in whenever he was around and that ruined their familial relationship. And much like his MAwS counterpart he deeply cares about his wife who we can assume he lost some time ago in the past. Also will we see a Lucy Lane in MAwS? Who knows.

Man of Steel, typical moniker for Superman, you're guaranteed to have that in any Superman media.

Slade actually loses his eye to match his comic book counterpart.

Later in the ep we see him with the eyepatch. Matches with his comic book counterpart as seen in this fantastic piece by Deathstroke co-creator, George Perez.

After the Superman Revenge Squad Task Force X escape thanks to Ivo absorbing more and more electrical energy he comes this giant kaiju sized monster rampaging across Metropolis with an axe to grind at Superman. The glowy bits on him remind me so much of Shin Godzilla. Oh and btw if you want to see the Justice League fight 2 very well known kaiju, preorder Justice League vs Godzilla vs Kong. Heres the trailer for it:

The first issue goes on sale in October 17th.

With the way Lois is worried about Clark here it gives off very Death of Superman vibes kinda like this page from Superman #75 (1992) by Dan Jurgens, Brett Breeding, Glenn Whitmore, and John Costanza.

Jimmy is usually labeled as Superman's best friend/pal so that's a given when a reference like that shows up

As the names scrolled up on Jimmy's IG-esque live stream we see some familiar names. The first is a reference Josie Campbell, the producer for the cartoon and the latter two are references to Superman support characters.

Pete Ross is Clark's childhood friend who first appeared in Superboy #86 (1960) by Robert Bernstein and George Papp.

In the comic Pete keeps scrutinizing Clark and he suspect that Pete might be on to his Superboy identity, but it turns out he just wanted Clark to play Superboy in the high school play. In like most Superman origins and media, Pete Ross is always Clark's best friend, but here in MAwS Jimmy takes up that role as friend of Clark but in this case its since they were in freshmen year of college.

Like Pete Ross, Lana Lang was also a childhood friend of Clark's ad also his love interest when they were teenagers.

Lana makes her first appearance in Superboy #10 (1950) by Bill Finger, John Sikela, and Ed Debrotka. In the comic Lana becomes a house guest for the Kents while her parents are away and she begins to suspect Clark and Superboy are the same person. Most Superman origins and other media usually have Lana and Clark be childhood sweethearts back in Kansas and she will occasionally show up in Clark's life again when they are adults.

After Clark punches through the Parasite body to get to Ivo we see the body just freeze there kinda like Shin Godzilla at the end of the movie. Btw go watch Shin Godzilla, Shin Ultraman, Shin Kamen Rider, fantastic trio of movies! Shin Ultraman is a better Superman movie than Man of Steel.

At the end of the ep Amanda Waller takes over Task Force X and name drops Checkmate. The organization first appeared in Action Comics #598 (1988) (cover by John Byrne) where Checkmate is a branch of Task Force X that was founded by Amanda Waller as a government intelligence agency. Like with most spy organization in the DC universe, they are shady AF. In their debut they legit kill a high ranking official from a different country in the name of "American safety".

thoughts on the My Adventures with Superman show?

Boy oh boy, I am HYPED :D

Honestly I've been excited about the cartoon since the announcement; Josie Campbell is...director? Showrunner? She's involved somehow, and I loved her work on both New Champion of Shazam and the recent Legion movie, so that's cool; the art direction looks SLICK and I appreciate that apparently one of the rules folks had while working on it was to make Clark look as cute/hot as possible. XD

Haven't really paid much attention to see if there have been plot/story announcements thus far, at least outside of the blanket, 'rookie Superman' and 'Clark x Lois' premise. Kinda hoping they go for some more obscure pulls in terms of rogues? (Feeling a little burnt out on Lex, tbh.)

IN CONCLUSION: Super pumped, need to find a way to actually watch this (as I have neither cable nor Max) but also the fandom for this thing is gonna be insufferable so I look forward to blocking/muting it in its entirety. XD

Sure, he had his own bakery, and, yeah, he didn't have to worry about his mom's drinking anymore, or studying for math tests, but the fire that came from his hands had blistered and burned his skin beyond any repair that even the best training that any of the kids with babysitter first aid could do and had left them useless and constantly in pain. He couldn't do the baking for his store, or even wash his hair.

least favorite storyline: g o d i hate jandon/handon triangle SO MUCH, especially because josie was practically humiliated by it (i don't really like her as an individual character but for a woman to get the short stick out of a love triangle is sexist bullshit). i also hated that josie made such a big fight about "wanting someone to stay for her" (which is totally relatable and understandable i get that) but then LEFT finch for absolutely no reason (how would her leaving help/benefit hope??).

what I wish had happened but didn’t: ha. haha. listen. if the writers were going to keep throwing landon/handon's relationship away without letting them reconcile or be together for more than five minutes (it's literally what happened on t100 to clarke/clexa - not that i'm comparing an f/f ship's homophobic bury your gays end to a tragic m/f ship where both are technically alive in some capacity CL stans pls don't put words in my mouth) and continue to traumatize hope then at least let her move on and find a healthy new relationship/goal to pursue. let rafael be onscreen, let hafael or hizzie become endgame (hizzie is great for wlw rep and hafael is a ship where a bisexual white woman dates a black man - i wonder why JP screwed over raf lmfao), let hope plan her future or spend time around her family.

what happened that I wish hadn’t: hope's entire characterization/arc revolving around a man, rafael being discarded once JP couldn't find a use for him much like tyler lockwood, yes i am still bitter and being forced to spend his existence in a PRISON WORLD and see it as a happy ending. landon being dead for 2+ seasons and forced to accept his death. ethan dying POINTLESSLY (a literal child sacrificing his life willingly because al*ric couldn't take his place).

THINGS I NEED BEFORE LEGACIES ENDS

Since we only have three more episodes in June and then it will be the end of the tvdu. I heard they are rewriting the ending and stuff so I hope at least some of these things will get tied up.

Death? I think originally they were going to have Ethan die it was pretty heavily foreshadowed. But if they're rewriting a lot of people are saying they'll kill Hope. But I think that's a little cliche. I know The Vampire Diaries and The Originals ended with the main characters dying but what if it ended with Ken or another god letting Hope become human. I think it would be very full circle. The entire franchise started with Elena as a human so it would be peaceful. And if they kill anyone it should be Landon going to peace or Lizzie because everyone keeps saying that it would fit the franchise and they're right. Even though they're my fave characters.

Cameos? It's now or never so it would the perfect opportunity for Candice to return as Caroline or Kaylee to come back as Josie as she was apart of the main three that started Legacies. Also any Mikaelsons would be cool. But because everything is last minute I doubt we will get anybody else back in time.

Endgames? We don't have much time for any new relationships so it seems i'll never get my personal ships/crackships endgames. Such as Hizzie, Landizzie, and Methan. Handon seems like they said their final goodbye so I guess I'm okay with Hope being single for the show's ending. I'm sure Kaleb and Cleo will stay together and I hope if Josie comes back, Finsie can stay together. I hope the love triangle with Lizzie, MG, and Ethan ends because it's annoying and Ethan clearly loves MG more than her lol. Oh and Jed and Ben should make up because I think they're pretty cute.

The Gods and Aurora? I have no idea where this plot line was going although it was very interesting. I wasn't a fan of the Aurora x Ken thing but whatever. I just hope the Gods get a good ending, perhaps they were never evil at all. I just hope they don't die because I quite like Ben and Jen as characters.

HOPE? Like I said I would love if she became human to end the whole show but I think most importantly she needs to come to terms with herself. She needs to accept the dark part of herself is a part of her and they need to merge into one because that's the real Hope Andrea Mikaelson.

Backstory?? Now we will never get real backstory's for a lot of characters and that really makes me mad. But I would have loved to hear Kaleb's, MG's full story (I still have a theory Caroline turned him), Wade (like how is he a fairy), and Jed (what happened to his friend). Also I still have a lot of questions. Like what happened to Clarke? Where are Penelope and Alyssa? What is Cleo now? Etc.

THREE EPISODES IS NOT ENOUGH! AND THESE ARE JUST SOME OF MY THOUGHTS IN KIND OF A BRAIN DUMP. AND THIS SHOW AND THE ENTIRE CAST AND CREW DESERVE BETTER.
