Awww happy samhain to you too buddy!!! I'm a day late, but here you go!!! This is set loosely in a modern au. I haven't written them in a hot minute so this was so fun <3

"Matty."

Matthew hummed soft and low, but didn't move from where he lay sprawled on Clayton's chest. Clayton smoothed a hand up and down his back and watched sunlight dapple the quilt underneath them.

"We got shit to do," he tried again. It was mid-afternoon, and the house was quiet, just the slow ticking of the clock in their bedroom to keep them company. Matthew had come home from church some hour before, and promptly tugged Clayton into the bedroom for a nap.

They were still there. Clayton lying on his back, Matthew half asleep on top of him.

"Mmm, like what?" Matthew's voice was quiet, drowsy, his hands heavy and lax where they rested against Clayton's ribcage.

Clayton pressed his fingers lightly against the notches in Matthew's spine through the thin fabric of his button down shirt. He hadn't even bothered to change. "Gotta make dinner."

Matthew yawned and rubbed his face against Clayton's chest. "I'll order pizza."

Breathing in the scent of Matthew's shampoo clean hair, Clayton tried again. "Got laundry to do."

"It's not going anywhere."

"Arabella wanted to come by and pick up those books."

"I'll drop 'em off in the morning."

Clayton sighed and closed his eyes. "You're real determined to just stay here, huh."

"Mhm." Matthew tilted his face enough to press a kiss to Clayton's chest. "Feels like it's been too damn long since we just had a minute to breathe. I'd like to just... stay a while. Forget about all the other shit."

He wasn't wrong. They'd been so damn busy lately. Clayton couldn't even remember the last time they'd sat down to watch a movie together.

Slowly, Clayton let the to do list drift out of his head. It could wait. Being here, napping on a lazy Sunday with his husband, was more important.

Clayton craned his head down and pressed a kiss to the top of Matthew's hair. "Alright, darlin'. We can stay a while."

Matthew hummed and found Clayton's hand where it lay on the covers. He tugged it up, pressed a soft kiss to Clayton's palm.

"Thanks, love," he murmured. "The rest can wait."
