This is certainly a packaging choice. (I've also seen food products in what look like cleaning product containers)

Backup Skincare
I can’t be the only person that has backups of their favourite skincare / beauty products?! I consider myself to be quite low-key when it comes to hoarding products or buying new things, even though I love beauty and skincare. There are just a couple of items that I will always have a spare of so that when I run out I have one to replace it straight away. I wanted to share with you the 3 items…

Hi guys,
This blog post is a typical example of me being late to the party, but I finally tried The INKEY LIst!!! I know I am beyond late and everyone has recommended that I try this brand for a while now but I can honestly say I now understand the hype. If you didn't know INKEY List has been a viral skincare brand for a while now and I am always seeing their cleanser go viral on TikTik so I decided to finally try out some products. I picked up the Skin prep gift set which gives you 3 full sized products to help prep your skin for the day makeup, but you can also use 2 of the products in your night routine as well as day.
So let's chat about the products I got in this set. The first product is The INKEY List Caffeine Eye Cream, 15ml, £10.00. I love trying a new eye cream because my under eye bags look like they have their luggage and need help. This cream is amazing at brightening and de-puffing your eyes, you can honestly see such a difference after you apply it. For such an affordable price I was so surprised how much of a impact it had to my under eye area. I use this eye cream every morning before makeup and evening after my skincare routine and using it twice a day has really made an improvement for me.
The next product I got was The INKEY List Polyglutamic Acid Serum, 30ml , £15.00. This serum is recommended to wear before makeup to help improve your facebase so your makeup looks even better on the skin. The serum is made of polyglutamic acid which can hold 4x more moisture than Hyaluronic Acid, locking in moisture and helping the skin appear instantly smoother. The formula also helps to make the skin look brighter and even complexion too. I adore wearing this serum because it makes such a difference and you really can see a blurring effect it has on the skin.
Lastly I got the viral INKEY List Oat Cleansing Balm, 150ml, £12.00. This is product you can use in your AM and PM skincare routine and essentially melts makeup off your face or any dirt if you are makeup prepping. Not only does it melt your makeup off it deeply nourishes and hydrates your skin without stripping or drying it out. I love how fresh and glowy my skin looks after every use and it's such a easy step to give your skin a real deep clean.
Overall I really like the brand and I'm excited to try out more products in the future. As always all products mentioned are linked above.
Lot's of love,
Bella x x

Are you visited by ghosts of dead relatives? Do you think they watch you do things that you normally like to keep secret? Does that late grandparent watch you do those kind of things in the bedroom, bathroom, or behind the abandoned Piggly Wiggly?

The balm contains 100 ml (3.38 oz) and doesn’t have a noticeable fragrance, but it does contain many essential oils.
Tumblr media
The balm is pretty standard and doesn’t feel too heavy.
Tumblr media
It's pretty oily and does start to break down to a more liquid form pretty fast.
Tumblr media
It removes makeup very nicely and is non-stripping.
Tumblr media
It doesn’t leave any oil residue once rinsed off.
Recommended use is to place an appropriate amount on dry hands and face and gently massage into the skin. It’s easy to rinse off or remove with tissue paper. It’s recommended to follow up with a cleansing foam. This is specifically formulated for sensitive skin. After using, so there are many essential oils in the ingredients list so this product is not fragrance-free. The physical fragrance isn't very noticeable, however. The cleansing balm has a very easy texture to work with and despite having a fair amount of irritants, this is a very gentle product that is suitable to any skin type, even to sensitive skin as I didn't personally notice any irritation. The ingredients are all very helpful in the skin maintaining moisture without being stripping or leaving a film or residue behind. I found this worked really well to remove dirt and gunk from my pores as well, it's also been gentle around my recent nose piercing. It's great to use as a double cleanse, both steps really help you feel clean without leaving the skin tight. I'd recommend this to anyone with dry, sensitive skin with enlarged pores.
What I like: this balm is very gentle, non-irritating, non-stripping and doesn't leave any film or residue. It's effective at removing dirt and oil and makeup is really nice to help loosen extra dirt from the pores. What I don't like: while it didn't affect me, there are several essential oils in this which can be irritants.
Pros:
Non-stripping
Gentle
Breaks down makeup easily
Removes dirt and oil effectively
Sensitive skin friendly
Doesn't leave a film or residue
Cons:
Contains irritants
Would I buy this?
Yes
Rating: 8/10

on: skin care
finding a good skin care regime that works for your skin type is always a hard task. especially if you don’t know where to start, etc. while i only started my skin care journey last summer (2022), i do want to share one or two things with y’all.
never fall asleep with your makeup on: i know it’s tempting and i know it happens to me, too, but if you can, go wash that face! your face will thank you for it
if you have trouble finding your skin type, go for products advertised to sensitive skin: it won’t harm you, it’s without any irritating scents/chemicals and is always a better option than not doing anything ;)
what you’ll def need: (1) cleanser (2) toner (3) moisturizer (4) sunscreen
you don’t need to double cleanse, but it’s still important to cleanse: some people don’t do it in the morning bc the body worked all night to produce important oils for your skin barrier, i for example do wash my face bc it makes me feel less greasy - def cleanse your face in the PM tho to get rid of all the dirt/bacteria/pollution/etc
korean skin care routines tell you to layer your toner(s), but you don’t have to: before i only used my toner once, on a cotton pad, to see if my makeup is fully removed, now i later it 6x. i do see improvements in my skin (it’s more glowy and feels tighter) but you def don’t have to!
serums are always optional: you don’t need them and you don’t have to worry about them. vitamin c is great for if you have dark spots/acne scars/general scars/etc. but you don’t have to use it! i know, a lot of people recommend them but maybe start slowly and then work yourself up
personally, i use a hybrid sunscreen (moisturizer + spf) bc i don’t like the heavy feeling of both layers, but you can def do both separately!
skin care regimes usually seem like hour long procedures and while they do take some time in the AM and PM, you shouldn’t be in the bathroom for 2h. let your layers sit for some time (min 30s to 1min) before going onto the next step to make sure that your skin was able to process some of what you put into it
tip: if you want to wear makeup on the day, do your skincare at least 30min before you put on primer or anything else. this way, your skin is nicely moisturized and happy and can take your primer/foundation/concealer/etc better!
