Lmao. It’s such a bullshit take. I’m Black and I can promise you there aren’t “half” or any of My family members who agree with Trump or want to vote for him. Saying “I want to vote for Trump” at a family gathering is the fastest way to initiate some honest to God, Black-on-Black violence. Please believe me when I say that Black people like Candace Owens, Tim Scott and Kanye West are outliers, nowhere close to the norm. 🦝🦝🦝
Anyway… everyone in America already knows where Trump stands. Trump’s 90 minute infomercial masquerading as a “town hall meeting” did not show us anything we didn’t know already. And there are no “undecided voters” when it comes to Trump.
America doesn’t need to be subjected to CNN lending Trump their platform to hear even more of his racism, misogyny or anything else, to get the full picture.
That CNN Town Hall was a giant fundraiser for Trump and another rallying call to white supremacists and violent hate groups, and CNN facilitated it.
MASSIVE dereliction of duty by CNN.
Journalistic malpractice.
Hell, we can’t even call it journalism at this point, because the goal wasn’t to inform or educate, the goal was ratings and ad revenue.
Didn’t we already see this okie doke with Les Moonves and CBS?
I guess Chris Licht and CNN won’t be happy until the next January 6th coup attempt is successful.
Given all the attention to President Biden’s cognitive fitness for a second presidential term, it seems fair, even mandatory, to assess Donald Trump’s performance at a televised town hall in Manchester, N.H., on Wednesday night through the same lens:
How clear was his thinking? How sturdy his tether to reality? How appropriate his demeanor?
On a scale of 1 to Marjorie Taylor Greene, I’d give him an 11.
–Frank Bruni at the New York Times commenting on Donald Trump's bizarre and cringy performance at the CNN New Hampshire town hall on Wednesday.
Republicans have been talking a lot about mental health lately. They don't talk much about the obvious lack of sanity of their de facto party leader.
CCN's town hall meeting with Donald Trump was equivalent to Mel Brooks' musical "Springtime for Hitler and Germany" in his movie "The Producers" (1967).
I refuse to give CNN any views as they attempt to normalize and rehabilitate Donald Trump.
CNN stacked their audience with pro-Trump Republicans, and by every reasonable account, their “town hall” was nothing more than a 90 minute infomercial/fundraiser for Trump that gave him every opportunity to tell lie after lie, completely unchallenged by a real journalist.
But if you want a really good recap of his CNN Town Hall, here you go:
Some takeaways from this thread are that: Trump is already dangling pardons for the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers in exchange for the votes of white supremacists, he’s threatening to end aid to Ukraine, and if re-elected he is absolutely going to ramp up the vilification of everyone who isn’t straight, white, Christian and male; and he is still pushing the big lie that the election was stolen.
Many, myself included, were appalled by the news that CNN would give Donald Trump more than an hour on prime time to spew his lies and hatred, which was exactly what he did. For many years, CNN has been considered a reliable news source, but that all began to change last year with a change in ownership and management. What started the network’s decline that culminated this week with their…
