Dear, society,
Being anorexic isn’t the synonym of being underweight.
So next time you see somebody with an average/ above-average BMI, don’t assume that they’ve never starved themselves for days and days.

Dear, society,
Saying that you relate to my eating disorder,
Because you’ve moved skipped a meal
Or followed a diet plan
Or did 10 burpees after eating 10 chicken nuggets,
is absolutely absurd.

Dear society,
don’t think that anorexia is a choice
and all the sufferers simply follow a diet for an extended time. Because there’s no simple formula, but rather strict rules and faulty routines that you follow in order to feel some control in life or just be happy.

Dear society,
Anorexia isn’t not just about eating. The fact that it is categorized as an eating disorder, doesn’t make it less of a mental illness. It’s not only the actions that harm your body, it is mostly your mind.

Dear society,
these “pro-ana” websites are not made by disgusting humans who ruthlessly force others into Anorexia. The creators are real people, who have absolutely no hope for getting better, because the thought of starving for becoming dainty and thin is so deeply ingrained in their heads. The posts under “#proana” is the only coping mechanism to their minds.

Dear society,
stop fat shaming your normal BMI-Ed kid, only because you were skinnier back in your day. It is an another log on the fire of the developing child’s self-hatred.

Dear society,
Anorexia isn’t fun. Don’t say that you’ve always dreamt of being anorexic, because essentially you’re saying that you want to be in a pool of tears after every failed calorie, every failed relationship, every failed workout, every failed goal, every failed diet. You say that you want to die of malnourishment or by the cause of your esophagus being torn apart for throwing up after every meal. You say that you want to know your worth every morning by stepping on the scales. You say that you want to sacrifice your mind for an unachievable body. You say that you want to be thought of as weird, because of the way you cut a hand-sized apple into thousands of pieces. You say that you want to feel in control, but actually end up devouring everything you see in the kitchen before you feel like you’ll explode from another bite. You say that you want to see your thighs expand with each bite. You say that you want to forget what eating normally is like, and see a binge instead of a healthy meal plan.
