Flowers! An experiment with colored pencils on tinted paper. This is the first time I'm doing full color on a non-white background... Made some mistakes and discovered I need to underpaint all bright objects with white pencil!

Day 5: Childhood Love.

You make me feel like a kid again. Then again I was never a kid anyway…

So today I felt like trying something new. It’s not exactly new but something I haven’t sat down and did for a while. I took some dollar store crayons, colorful paper, sat down on the carpet, and just drew. I thought of an idea or rather that saying where love could make you feel young. Where when you’re in love you feel like you are a child again, or so I heard. How does one feel like a child when one was never able to be one in the first place though? It’s an interesting idea however, nothing to dwell on too hard. Today was a day I was able to do something I would as a kid. Today I was able to feel like a child. Not in a demeaning way but rather a light hearted way. One of light hearted wonder and distraction. Even if it was only for a little while it was an escape. A good one. Sometimes we all need a little break to indulge in the little things in life. Even if it’s just a box of crayons.
