I have been reading & watching some old cast interviews and comic con panels lately.I never really paid attention to offscreen stuff before but is it me or there was always some underlying tension among them?Either they were trolling or they could barely stand each other to be in the same room or maybe I am reading too much into it.I think the one thing that remained constant was PW relentlessly trolling the show and its below-average writing and outlandish plots.So anyway in the process I got to the part where Malarkey slipped that Enzo will be Bonnie's love interest and Dries spewing BS about Bonlaric in the interviews.This is something Plec said she came up with after their scene in 6×21(hard to believe but whatever).Caroline was the only one the writers didn't say absolutely anything about until they probably decided to incorporate candice's pregnancy.One thing that I remember about both Bonnie and Caroline's so-called future relationships is that neither were compelling enough and little to no effort were made for them before the time jump while both SC & DB were left on cliffhanger.In fact both Carenzo and Bonenzo had the same story.Enzo betrayed both.;vervained Caroline & tied her up,hit Bonnie in the head and injected her with something that disabled her magic.And then in the end got his ass handed over to him by both the girls.😎

Anyway,in one interview,julie had even said that Bonnie and Caroline were going to take centre stage but Candice called and said she was pregnant.I'm not exactly sure how Candice's pregnancy could affect Bonnie's narrative unless it was just one of her lame ass excuses which it absolutely was.So what do you think Baroline's story was originally going to be before the time jump?Baroline being lesbians,dating each other and having the time of their lives in some European city?To be honest I would rather watch THAT.I hope someone does a Tell-All Book someday unless they all signed a NDA because too much shit happened that didn't make any lick of sense.

Hey so I actually think the cast are way more fond of each other than they let on, mostly because I don't see how a group of people would do so many of these cons together if they couldn't stand each other. I think Pauls just did a lot of trolling because he knew people thought it was funny. I do however think Kat hates Caroline Dries as she should and I don't think she likes Julie much either which is also completely warranted. The thing about Dries and Kat in what would be Bonnie's LI in S7 is that Dries said she didn't tell Kat but told Malarkey because Kat wasn't ready to hear it yet and like WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN??? Why does she think she had the right to treat her like a child? I'm so glad that bitch basically got fired in S7 and hasn't had success since, it's what she deserves. Bonnie and Enzo had some build-up in S5 too but it was similar to the stuff they had in 6x21 so it just felt like something the writers were putting a pin in for the future if they needed it. I just think the writers had no idea what to do with Enzo in S6 once they decided they didn't need him as the Klaus-lite foil to Stefan and rather wanted to isolate Stefan and Caroline while they built their love story.

I can probably answer the S7 questions better after I rewatch that season (I'm mid-way through S6 now) but I like 7x04 gives a good idea of what the season would have looked like with Candice's pregnancy. I think the SV baby would have been introduced and that would have been the obstacle for Steroline, maybe Stefan would have been stabbed protecting his kid? I also think Valerie might not have had such a big role that season if Candice wasn't pregnant because her screen time really dwindled after she was about 7 months pregnant. Bonnie on the other hand might have been more involved in the heretics plot and maybe that could have been used to develop Bonenzo but I'm sure Dries decided to make Enzo obsessed with Lily because she hates Kat. Like she would rather take a character we just fucking met and give her more stuff than Bonnie because to be blunt Valerie is white and Dries is racist.

2023 Retrospective - November & December

And here we are once again at the end of the year. I'm queueing this to post on December 31st but I'm actually making this post on December 22nd so if anything significant happens between then and December 31st it may or may not be in the final post. Anyway!

November: I. was. BUSYYYYYYYY

The weekend after the AWA/SC Comicon gauntlet, I drove up to Newport News, Virginia to attend Nekocon with the Carolina Manga Library! Just like last year, it was a nice chill con. I was very graciously allowed to stay in the hotel room on Sunday night and check out Monday morning, so...

I did Virginia Things again! I started out at Bluebird Gap Farm, where I got to pet sheep and goats again, see a bunch of ducks and geese, and overall had a great time. I love Bluebird Gap

I went to the Virginia Zoo again, and that was a great time too! I didn't get to see the buffalo again, but I DID get to get up close and personal with their goats this year. And I got emotional over frogs, as I usually do when zoos have a reptile/amphibian exhibit.

I found a local used CD shop and got a STACK of CDs, many of which I'd actually been hunting for for a while

On November 8th I went to a special dubbed screening of the Adventure 02 movie. After how Kizuna went I was prepared to have my emotions torn out and stomped on but surprisingly it was just kind of... a 02 movie. Nothing huge happened, nobody died.

The weekend after Nekocon, I vended at Mythic Con, a local con here in Charlotte more focused on tabletop and board games. I did surprisingly well, just like with ConCarolinas back in June!

I did, however, ditch the con on the Sunday to go to the Carolina Renaissance Faire with a couple of Columbia friends. It was fun! They've streamlined parking and while it was crowded, it wasn't unmanageable. At this point, the Tortuga Twins (all three of them) and the guys from the joust are like old friends to me, not in a parasocial way but in a "oh hey, I know that guy! Kind of!" way.

The weekend after THAT I attended my final con of the year and it was a DISASTER. I had my reservations about it since it was a one day Sunday con seemingly more focused on comics, and the group running it is running a bunch of other one day pop up events in the southeast. I didn't even make my table cost back. It was terrible. I think I'll pretend Mythic Con was my last one of the year...

I had a surprising 5 days off in a row, so Lauren bought me plane tickets and I went to visit her up in St. Paul Minnesota! It was my first time flying solo and only my third time flying, period. I hate airports. But St. Paul was great! We went to the Mall of America for day one, and then a local zoo, cat café, and some other shops on day two. It had snowed overnight, so I got the full winter in Minnesota experience and I LOVE THE COLD. I really do need to move up north. It was 70 degrees when I got back to Charlotte.

I started playing Baldur's Gate 3 on my steam deck!

I actually for real finished Practice Makes Perfect. All 40 chapters.

The second DLC for Pokémon SV dropped, so I played through The Teal Mask in preparation and then marathoned the Blueberry Academy DLC as soon as I could on launch night. I downloaded the update and started streaming at 8:30pm on Wednesday night and streamed until around 5am, took a nap, and got back to it at 1pm on Thursday, finishing up that evening. Teal Mask was fine, pretty basic story. Blueberry Academy was... a disappointment. Just what I was expecting, to be honest.

My partner woke me up crying early in the morning (5am) to help him get some painkillers because his head was really bad, he had n*, felt hot and shivery and had a sore throat

After an hour he felt much better just tired, but the hot flushes and headache kept returning so he's been taking medicine and sleeping most of the day, I assumed it was just a bad headache from the very busy few days we've had (comic con and 2 large kid birthday parties) I've been cuddling up with him to comfort him

But half an hour ago (10pm) he felt incredibly n* and was getting serious hot flushes and was worried he was going to be s*, I put the fan on him and within a few mins he feels much better

He's been having small snacks randomly during the day which haven't triggered any n*, he doesn't have any stomach pains nor d* but I'm scared because I'm getting a sore throat (our son caught a cold Saturday night, he's better now) I just can't handle another sv*

If it was a SV I don’t think there would be additional symptoms (sore throat, headache). Those are not common with SV, so I doubt it’s that. It’s also good news that they haven’t v*d! It could be a bad cold or even a flu (not stomach flu). Good luck!! I hope you’re feeling better!! -Kaitlyn

The theme of this year Comic Con of my country is Spider-Man and once again the artists of the artist alley have to collaborate with an artbook of the theme for the organization “Cruz Roja”. It seems the last one was a success. So this time i had to do a color ilustration of Silk. I can’t wait for see all the ilustrations together in the book. OwO

A Darth Maul Movie? Ray Park answered at Silicon Valley Comic Con 2016

4 Days away from Silicon Valley Comic Con 2017

Darth Maul is alive and well in the Star Wars cartoons.  Could Darth Maul come back for a standalone Star Wars movie?  I asked actor Ray Park if he's heard anything about it when he was at Silicon Valley Comic Con 2016.  

Park starred as Maul in Star Wars the Phantom Menace, Toad in X-Men, Snake Eyes in G.I. JOE, and Edgar on Heroes.  He is an accomplished martial artist and a really nice guy.

None of us have any control over the people who are 'taking care' of Stan right now, but we do all have control over whether or not to support this with our hard earned dollars. Honestly I like the theory that Iris thinks Barry is happy. It's sort of reminiscent of Buffy the Vampire Slayer when Willow wanted to bring Buffy back from the dead. She insisted that Buffy must have been suffering to get the gang to go along with resurrecting her. Buffy is brought back and eventually reveals that she was in heavan. I like this theory. That's real love in Iris' part, sacrificing her happiness rather than bringing Barry back to more suffering.

Yes, I love how you expanded on that! You’re definitely making me want this explanation. I do think that no matter what, Iris is gonna feel like Barry doesn’t wanna come back. I really hope she gets a chance to vocalize her fears before he comes out, because this would be some great material for Candice.

I get you, and I feel very similarly to you. The only difference is that I didn’t think the con revealed anything new, because we already heard this at SDCC. But I know that every time we are reminded that the showrunners don’t want to delve into journalism, it’s a new blow.

Would they have announced Keiy being dropped to recurring? This just seems super weird to me, if he requested time off it feels kind of sudden. CP at comic con said Wally had a really interesting arc coming up this season, didn't realize he wouldn't be there for it lol

I personally feel they would have announced it - just like they did with Floriana and already confirmed with Tom F. I don’t think he’s been dropped to recurring, and the fact that it seems so sudden definitely makes me think they weren’t planning for less Wally.

I'm glad SV left when she did then and they broke up for the reasons they did. Had it been a triangle I think Iris would have more "reasons" for the haters to hate and it would have made Barry look reaally bad imo (earth 2 stuff). The only thing I would have changed is maybe having Patty beware of the unresolved feelings just cause I didn't like how she thought they were practically siblings when it couldn't have been further from the truth.

I don't know, I think that after what happened with Linda, they were very careful to have Iris not be the reason for the split with PS. I'm not sure if they would have played that up in two extra episodes. But we can only guess ;)

Yes, I do agree that they were trying to be cautious about Iris. I just think that the pull to return to her as the One True Love would have been too strong, seeing how quickly they jumped back into it once P was gone.
