You know sir John wouldn’t have been killed if he had had a sea bear circle

I think this book is going to end with them getting eaten by polar bears

I would be a lot happier with the crozier/silna ending if they had at least a LITTLE chemistry. A smidge. Or if this ending was hinted at at all in the beggining. I thought we were going down the silna/irving route but NO.

Ok I’m done w the terror. I didn’t like the ending very much and I wasn’t fond of knowing about the breasts of basically every female character but other than that it was good

I know a lot of people don’t like the hickey from the novel but I kinda like him. He reminds me of a weird mix of my characters: Serena, the musical god killer/wannabe god, Meluria, my Skyrim character who’s a mad, sneaky cannibal, and Atilius, the conspirator

Like honestly “the terror” has some of the best writing when it comes to characters and their motivations that I’ve ever seen. Like you think something about a character or their past is pointless until it comes up again it a way you wouldn’t expect. Also, the book doesn’t tell you why a character will or won’t due something, it’s mostly up to the reader to guess their future actions based on their past ones. Why didn’t Sir John tell anyone else that Silence might be someone he knew from about 20+ years ago who hasn’t aged a day? 1. He’s already too embarrassed to see her naked. He’s a very Christian man and extremely prude. 2. He would have to admit that he had seen her (or who he thinks she is) 20 years previously, which would probably imply that they were doing something together that would be unbecoming of a Christian man (even though they weren’t. He saw her naked on accident both times.) Like it doesn’t tell you his motivations, it shows you. And it’s great.
Also maybe he did plan to tell them but didn’t because of the whole, you know, clipping through the ice and being eaten by a horrible beast thing.
