The time I took a chance to add to someone鈥檚 work, by making a Columbo lost episode include a British actor from a famous British horror movie. Along with writing dialogue to a scene where Columbo is talking to Dr. Rick Dagless. Probably would鈥檝e felt a bit different as the lighting in the Darkplace series is much different.
In this hypothetical idea by Readful Things, its a lost episode that if I had a hand in writing, would鈥檝e been a cultist-working-doctor that knew of Darkplace鈥檚 occult secrets in hopes of trying to summon something to ascend or whatever. Would鈥檝e felt different too, since British Crime Dramas are different from American Crime Dramas.
More precisely, A Columbo episode is much different than a common crime drama.
And I quote... "Parts of Madeleine have been found under a car park in Milan" (mystery somewhat solved...?)
Amazing ep of Off Menu as always, worth listening to even if you aren't a Garth Marenghi fan but as one, it's great. Definitely need to read his books.
One of my favorite subtle jokes in Darkplace is that every character is a medical professional, but when someone faints/gets injured/explodes they just go, "Are you okay?" like random idiots.
Guys this is a really boring post but I have a Garth Marenghi blog, @theoneandonlywonton, and I'm really passionate about the show and want to share as much of it as possible. It's a comedy-sci fi-horror show that's a bit meta and it's a really underrated show.
If you're interested in watching, it's on Channel 4 in the UK and you can find the episodes on YouTube.
Here's a playlist I made:
If you like the show, you'll probably enjoy the blog too so feel free to check it out.
