Darkstarchaser au idea

Darksun childhood friends/crushes to enemies who stopped talking in around 1975

Past starchaser 1976 to ~1978

Reg goes missing in 1979 while he's gathering research for the cave

Barty decides he's going to figure out where he is because he noticed him acting strange before he vanished

Barty spots James at a raid, grabs him, and pulls him into an alley

While he has his wand to James' neck, he tells him that he needs help to find Reg because he's missing and obviously James thinks he's lying to trick him

But he looks at him properly, recognises that pure fear in his eyes, and decides he can't take that risk

There's the 'Okay. Okay I believe you.' And Barty just fully relaxes and lets his guard down and now James KNOWS he is telling the truth

They work together to find Reg and ofc deal with old emotions and get together along the way

And find Reg moments before he leaves for the cave

Then they all kill voldy and live happily ever after
