idk if this is an unpopular opinion but i’ve read a few fics where cas says the angels fought in hell for forty years to raise dean and i just dont think that’s true. michael wanted the apocalypse to happen. cas says in on the head of a pin “When we discovered Lilith's plan for you, we laid siege to hell and we fought our way to get to you before you—” why would michael send the angels to hell to stop the righteous man from breaking the first seal if that’s what he wanted to happen? i think he waited until he knew it was too late and then he sent the angels to hell to raise his sword.

#now how long the angels spent in hell is a different story but i assume it was at least a little longer than the ten years after dean broke #also i would love to read a fic where this happens and cas figures out that heaven let dean break the first seal on purpose #spn #jenna.post

Happy 3 year anniversary to Dean and Castiel! I can’t believe it’s been that long already. Time really does fly. I imagine Dean feels the same.

I imagine Castiel catches Dean staring at him from across the room and asks “Are you okay, Dean?” In which Dean is pulled from his thoughts by the beautiful voice of his lover and says “Always when I’m with you, Cas.” with that look of adoration that never fails to make Castiel’s heart skip a beat. And within milliseconds, Castiel is pulling Dean into an embrace and holding onto Dean like his life depends on it. He buries his face in the crook of Dean’s neck and murmurs “I love you so much.” against his skin. Dean smiles a genuine smile, a beautiful expression of his happiness, something that he struggled to achieve in the past and still does occasionally; but it always appears effortlessly when in Castiel’s presence. “I love you too, Cas.” He hums in response as he holds Castiel. His best friend. His savior. His angel. And most importantly, his lover.
