Separate from any debate over whether they "should" do so or not, I feel like there's no way fgo retracts a finished playable servant given how skinflinty Lasengle can be.
I think the most they'd do if faced with extreme pressure would be to censor the name like they did in the Chinese server ("Wandjina" to "Foreigner 393"). But I haven't really seen signs of that level of pressure.

but they also used to know how to properly mix removable and unremovable effects.
I unironically think there's a chance that the main reason they refused to rerun content for so long is because they didn't want it to become this obvious that FGO has only become more badly designed as time has gone on, with only a handful of exceptions.

i don't think i need to say that delightworks was obviously an untenable, unsustainable circus of a company, but there are basically two reasons i'm skeptical about the actual positive effects of the lasengle merge:
A. we still have a lot of the same people with the same... evidently challenging philosophies about the game's design. we still have 2-san, we still have takeuchi who can just make up a guy so hard that two story chapters get rewritten including the same one where roland (who, based on the timeline they gave us, was sat on for the vast majority of the time under 2-san's still active tenure even if he was initially nearly-finished under saltriver) had to finally get spat out into after 5 years of hand-wringing, the same type moon who if they're still a significant determining factor in who gets animation updates like 2-san said i have some serious questions about this year, nasu... is a very, very busy man, and we... still have ono? i dunno what he does. maybe not much.
B. based on what they've learned they could get away with the past 2 years, as in reducing content, releasing obviously unfinished content, staggering finished content, substituting things like animation updates for widescreen NPs, getting by on overdue QoL updates, being able to just press a button a couple times a year to shoot fgo's app store rating up 20 spots as long as they release a hyped-enough servant, of which they have a backlog good enough to last years just with the popular NPC list alone...
do they have an incentive to meaningfully improve at this point? do they have an incentive to not fall into the classic pit of just trying to invest as little as they feel they can get away with into the game's development while still trying to absolutely maximize how much money they make? i dunno! i hope! but i kinda doubt it!

do you have a favorite fandom?
My favorite fandom is my highly curated inner sanctum of friends and mutuals that make up my walled garden internet space that I love logging in to every day to share things with them and in turn see what they have drawn, written, or analyzed.
If cheat answers don’t apply, and we understand fandom as the fan community and not the artwork, then my favorite fandom is, as I’ve said before if you’ve been around, Fate. Absolutely no other fandom is down to clown in the way Fate fans are. I’d make the foulest or most slapstick posts for Fate and the reception was always positive, building on the joke further or even making comics out of the concept, the same kind of posts that’d get me blacklisted in Touhou and Kancolle circles. It’s by no means a perfect fandom, I met some goofy goober people that I never want to talk to or see in my inbox again (like that one person that thought my inbox was DelightWork’s official complaint box and also overshared about her hatred for men all the time) and ironically enough a lot of them can’t read, but on the other hand, this almost universally applies to most fandoms anyways so the pros are what matter here. I also met a lot of people that are good, close friends of mine nowadays through Fate so I also hold affection for it due to that.

Do you think that there is a possibility of Hypergryph splitting from Yostar for global publishing of Arknights and moving it to Gryphline instead? The traditional Chinese server got moved from Long Chen to Gryphline recently, and the new ambience synesthesia concert merch is on the Gryphline store rather than yostar’s. It may just be wishful thinking as yostar and hypergryph both own large shares of each other, but if there is a planned split from yostar would it potentially be a reason why Hypergryph hasn’t made a statement condemning Yostar Korea’s actions? Is there any precedent for publisher changes for a sort of legal clause preventing them from hurting each others’ image prior to the split being announced?
Gryphline is situated in Singapore, having what I guess you could call a “proxy” company for global business in Singapore is something a lot of companies in China have done for a while, increasingly within the past couple of years, for a multitude of reasons. Last time I checked Mihoyo had “Cognosphere” in Singapore, and when you buy gachabux in that game on servers outside China I believe your bill is from Cognosphere. The slave labor fast fashion site Shein has been operating under the Singapore-registered “Roadget Business” which some have speculated makes it easier to list in the USA. Yostar has HQ in Hong Kong which used to be the proxy location but according to this FT article-“Traditionally, Hong Kong was the choice for many such companies, said Kia Meng Loh, a senior partner at Dentons Rodyk. But with Beijing “flexing its muscles” in the semi-autonomous rival finance hub, Singapore is the obvious next choice, he said.” Hypergryph has multiple games coming out in the near future, I believe a regular (non-gacha) 3D anime mobile game and a 3D Arknights spinoff that will have a weapon gacha, and I think another game that’s TBD? They could be rearranging their internal structure due to this expansion if they’ve switched around their Chinese server already, but I’m unsure if this means they will completely split with Yostar who I believe publishes the US, Japanese and Korean servers.
Admittedly I can’t say I’m super well versed with this type of business and therefore it’s harder to really predict what they will do in the future, but I’ve been watching the situation since AK KR posted that notice to see what happens. I don’t have anything against the game itself, if it comes out that somehow their hands are completely tied in the situation or something I’ll post about that as well but I’m not holding my breath. In terms of my read on the situation, I think a huge message has ready been sent to the fans as to whom the company deems most profitable to listen to, regardless of any future handwringing over the situation. I would think between a woman posting extremely basic feminist thoughts on her personal twitter (equal pay etc) and enjoying the woman’s day google doodle years ago, and the Arknights KR/Yostar employee liking extremely violent fanart on the official twitter account and hanging out on extremist, misogynistic chat boards, that the employee would be seen as more of a problem and should have been the one disciplined. In reality, not only was the woman punished by having her work deleted but the official KR account posted that diatribe calling basic feminism a “dividing force” or whatever. This action and the following statement are absolutely not neutral, especially during a time a which violent misogyny has been increasingly ripping through South Korea as a whole but also gacha games specifically. In terms of PR I do think this is something Hypergryph could address, if HG doesn’t want to rock the boat with Yostar so to speak because of some upcoming split, it seems Yostar has already rocked the boat quite a bit with this action to begin with…
in terms of a main developer punishing the publisher, one example I can think of is Fate/Grand Order’s DelightWorks (after the sakura wars fuckup FGO is developed by “Lasengle” now, but when this happened it was DW) changing an in-game reward that FGO’s Korean publisher Netmarble gave out. In terms of them splitting as well, I’m still looking into it 👍 If anyone knows anything else feel free to reply or send me stuff and I’ll post it, sometimes I feel if I wait too long to reply to messages it comes across as rude lol so I’m not getting lost in like thesis tier research

So in the latest interview with Famitsu, it turned out Type-Moon dumping Delightworks and moving the workers to Lasagna Lasengle was done in order to combat crunch and Delightworks' bad working conditions that they refused to change after 6+ years.
Keep in mind, the development staff at Delightworks were not abandoned, it was the DW executives who were. When they announced the move to Lasengle, they claimed the FGO staff were brought in as well.

so regarding your post about merchandise contracts leading to "wrong" translations being unchangeable; i would then like to ask about the fact that despite FGO using the name "Altria" for Arthur, why are other translators for Fate/Extella and Melty Blood: Type Lumina allowed to get away with translating it as "Artoria"?
I can't say I know what's going on with Fate/Extella.
The funniest possible answer is that the translators made the fix praying that the Japanese would never notice and it worked.
The most realistic answer is that it's because Extella is not produced by Aniplex. Altria was set in stone by an FGO figure, thus a product of a contract with Aniplex. Extella is a Marvelous game distributed by Xseed, so Aniplex's hands don't reach it.
And before anyone asks, no Xseed's Artoria was not a case of ignorance. The translators were changing it from a source game that looked like this:
Tumblr media
As for Type Lumina, that's an DelightWorks-then-Lasangle game. It's from a company directly under Aniplex's umbrella. Them releasing Artoria on September 30, 2021, was a translator unironically pulling off the joke above. Just pray Aniplex JP won't notice.
And it worked for a total of 43 days. On November 12, 2021, a Lumina update replaced Artoria with Altria everywhere and that's what's still in effect to this day.

I really love how XX didn’t turn evil, she was just depressed and drowning in capitalism.
MHXX's evil god is not only capitalism but specifically the marketing hand of DelightWorks Lasengle Type-Moon encouraging you to invest in more Saber
Which you should. Always invest in Saber

GERONIMO
Favorite Thing About Them:
Delightworks threaded the needle when it came to his characterization perfectly, in my opinion. He's not a "noble savage" nor some blood knight. He is a man capable of great deeds of combat without shying away from the fact that most of his enemies were human.
also he wasn't genderbent, or an alien, or whitewashed, or forced to fit a writer's fetish, or- sorry, this is supposed to be positive. Despite his scarcity of appearances, he has a strong characterization that makes him stand out.
Least Favorite Thing:
First, the fact that DW seems to have no idea what to do with Geronimo, leading to him appearing very rarely in stories and events. Second, his kit. I'm not directly annoyed by it since I'm not usually the one playing FGO in this system, but if I have to hear Kris go "Oh, but his kit" one more time I am going to scream.
Favorite Line:
"I am not human, at least not anymore. Either way, you are also a budding mage. Am I correct in pointing out that you have already abandoned being human as well?"
brOTP: Artoria Pendragon, Mecha Eli Chan Mk.II, Billy the Kid
OTP: Geronimo was married in life, I will not deny him that here.
nOTP: see above
Random Headcanon: Geronimo grows most of the tobacco used by servants and staff in Chaldea.
Unpopular Opinion: To be honest I don't particularly want to see other forms of Geronimo made. Maybe they could just buff his skills to temporarily turn him into a different class? I may just be a pessimist, but I feel like DW wouldn't be able to make a summer or alter version of Geronimo without fumbling it in some way. Although a Santa Geronimo could work...
Song Associated with Them:

It’s not really a matter of moral superiority but it is definitely a case study in how “sex sells” is bullshit. Or rather, that without sex, you won’t be able to make a profit. Because for years I’ve been told that FGO’s use of fanservice is something Delightworks *has* to do in order to make money, “men don’t sell,” “sex sells” and all that. And now Limbus Company is a smash hit despite not marketing itself on skimpy outfits and fanservicey designs (mind, that doesn’t mean it’s a game with *no* fanservice, far from it, but that’s not the main selling point).
Let’s be honest, the “what sells!” argument is just saying “If we don’t pander specifically to the tastes of straight men, no one will buy our game,” Lo and behold there are people besides straight men playing games, willing to spend money on games etc. so catering to them is not a necessity to keep the lights on over at Type-Moon, it’s a choice. They choose to. They don’t have to. And now we have demonstrable proof of that.
