thinking about Felix connecting to Oliver’s story about his home life and immediately forgiving wanting him to come to his home because he knows how it feels.

Boarding schools and a huge house you could lose yourself in all day never seeing a soul, cold black tie family dinners where no one seems to talk about anything.

James sitting at every meal reading and not engaging at all. Them briefly mentioning going to London and not informing anyone until it was asked. How many times they must’ve done this before.

Duncan always seeming to have a protective look around felix and venetia, getting too upset to close the curtains after the party.

Elsbeth talking about venetias personal business like it’s fresh from a gossip column and not her daughter.

Venetia and Felix having to watch as their parents invite people to stay then kick them out once they’re bored of them. Them only having each other to cling to, being overly protective and dependent on eachother and being somewhat too close. Matching tattoos and knowing glances. Felix willing to drop oliver so quickly for her to be happy.

Felix having to be the messenger between farleigh and James about money, defending his dad even though he knows it’s wrong, because he feels like he owes it to him.

And when Felix realised Oliver was lying about his upbringing he kept it private despite his anger and still checked up on him at the party despite hating him.
