🌹 atomtanned's Trait-Based Chemistry

I've used @lilbabydilljr's Turn-Ons & Turn-Offs for a while now, and I love that he added in 3t2 traits when calculating chemistry. I wanted to tweak it for my game, and I finally learned how to do so. This is a heavily-modified version of his mod, so most of the credit goes to him - I just added/removed traits and changed some images and text strings.

Like any mod that involves traits, this requires @hexagonal-bipyramid's Easy Inventory Check.

This is definitely the most involved BHAV editing I've done yet, so please let me know if you find any errors, as it's a bit hard to test in game.

UPDATE: If you use Clean UI (or any other UI mod that uses Clean UI as a base) this mod will need to load after. Or you can delete the turn-on images that are included with that mod.

UPDATE 2: @cityof2morrow let me know that this mod (and I believe any other custom turnon/turnoff mods) also conflict with NickM406's No More Loading the * Family mod. Thank you!!

The same goofy, camera shy, loyal and loving boy you’ve loved since you were 15 and Luke 16.

Tucking stray strands of hair behind your ear you lick your lips and give a thumbs up to the producer who was waiting for an okey to start the interview.

“Tell us who Luke Hughes is in a non hockey perspective. The Luke you see and know.” The question brings a big smile to your face, cheeks warming up at the mere thought of your boyfriend.

“Luke is probably the best person I know. He doesn’t do things half assed, if he’s going to do something he gives it a thousand percent. He’s fearless in how he loves others and how he sees life as a whole. Nothing really shakes him ya know? Luke doesn’t worry about tomorrow or what happened yesterday because it doesn’t mean anything in the moment. It’s one of my favourite things about him. He helps me stay grounded at all times.

He’s so funny too, it’s something not a lot of people know but he really is. Since he is so private and not a fan of the camera -just like Quinn- people don’t see that side of him but I wished he showed that side more. Also he doesn’t let who his brothers are stop him from being his own person. He knows his family is well known but that does not define who he is or who he will be and he won’t let it. There are so many things I admire about him but that’s a big one. Luke just is a huge inspiration to me and everyone close to him. When they met Luke was so focused on hockey that he forgot everything else and with her help he remembered that hockey is a part of his life but not his whole life.

Me and Jim did our part in raising him to be a good person but Y/N is a part of that too. She’s showing him everyday what love is and I never thought he would meet the love of his life so young but I’m glad he did. It feels safe knowing that she’s going with him when he makes the move to Jersey. That even if me and Jim won’t be there at all times he still has her and Jack. Luke’s my baby and I’ll always worry about my kids so it is nice to know him and Jack will have each other and Y/N too. Even at eighteen and nineteen I know they are going to get married and I look forward to that day.”

As Ellen finishes her little spiel happy tears are flowing from your eyes. You knew Ellen saw you as the perfect match to her youngest but hearing her say those words made your heart feel as if it’s close to bursting with love.

Freshly showered, Adrian finds himself in the dining room with a steaming bowl of soup. He did not cook it. He did not clean the piling unused dishes or broken shards of glass that he had expected. He is almost surprised to find all the chairs and the table intact.

It did not take much to figure out who it was done by. The vampire who now stares at him from the other side of the table.

Y/n, you call yourself. Your intentions remain a mystery and your threat increases with every passing second. You speak of unknown lands and unheard kingdoms. Adrian finds it hard to trust you. The bargain encouraged the seeds of doubt to sprout further.

‘Mate-,’ Adrian quickly banishes the thought. He does not deign his attention to such lies.

“Come on, let me know how I did,” the soup remains untouched. It contains no poison. It smells normal. Yet, Adrian finds it hard to bring himself to eat.

“Just tell the story already,” had he not showered already? He would not obey every command like a dog.

“Eat,” you repeat. Making a show of settling back in your chair. As if mocking to drag out the argument.

Stupid bargain. His dumb curiosity be damned. Adrian feels wronged in ten ways.

“Hmph,” Adrian picks up the spoon and the cutlery feels foreign in his hands. How long had it been since he had felt the metal of silverware instead of the glass of a wine bottle in his hand?

Warmth blooms in his mouth. The soup that’s more of a broth, tastes watery at best. He can taste dill, rosemary, thyme, garlic, and some chicken flavoring. Salted very lightly it seems to be an amalgamation of spices. Could be much more awful for a Vampire’s cooking. Adrian finds it quite palatable.

After months he feels more human than ever. Ironical that you, a vampire, are the reason for the feeling of humanity.

“What say? How’s it?” You ask with genuine curiosity in your eyes. Adrian does not offer you a response but it is utmost annoying when he spots the smug smirk as he goes for another sip.

“I reckon I promised you a story,” you break the awkward silence. Adrian simply continues drinking his soup and does not react when you push another bowl towards him.

“In the kingdom of Asor reside 3 conflicting powers. The vampires, the founders, and the rulers of the land. The Elves, who reside in the forests aloof from most. And the Fae, who live in caves and valleys inaccessible even to the rulers of Asor.

The Vampires are the protectors, the fighters of Asor. The Elves are the providers, they’re the farmers and lore masters. The Fae are the primary magic bearers who maintain the balance of our lands. There are of course other races but those fare in little numbers.

These races have fought for power for centuries. However, recent treatises have established some semblance of ‘peace’. With the territories divided each retreated to their own. But the Vampires still ruled most. Even the Fae and the elves remain subservient to the Vampires. For the spirits of creation who aided the formation of Asor were convinced by my father. The king of Asor has always been a vampire.

In the past, there have been wars among the folks of Asor. And one such brutal war was between the Fae and the Vampires. Immortals who had little to lose did not care for their soldiers. They had time and numbers. Nothing could stop them, leave for the weariness of their subjects.

A bargain was made,” you look at him breaking away from the story. “And bargains are nothing if not load full of crap.” A warning rings loud in the room. The fickle-ness of bargains was not unknown to Adrian, not after today.

“The Vampire king, my father, Orthere who was wed to Heiu, the queen of Asor, had a child with the queen of Fae, Blasa. They did not marry but slept together to bear a child. A compromise that the powers of Asor agreed upon.

A half fae and half-vampire offspring who would unite the courts and balance the power. Or so, they had hoped.

A spokesperson of the Fae in the main court of Asor. A royal who would promise more control to the Fae.

Blasa bore the child while Orthere returned to his territory.” Adrian could not help but re-examine you. Were you truly half fae and half vampire? Your looks did not betray your origin. In fact, you look exactly like a pure-blood vampire with your fangs, pointed ear, and your bloodless pallor. Even your powers were vampiric.

“Unlike most the Fae court is matriarchal. Females rule while males are mere accessories. In such court, a child came to be. A child who would’ve been nothing but a bed warmer had he not carried the blood of the King of Asor.

There were others too. Two other sons and a daughter, who was to be the heir to Blasa. Ingal, Daylan, and the Crown Princess Eilos. All half-siblings to each other and the child.

The child who can be me or someone else entirely. But that’s for you to figure.” You shrug with nonchalance. Your manner too relaxed, yet the tale was too detailed.

“Growing up with the Fae who lusted for his power but could not care enough about him the child who remained unaware of his father. He was an oddity. Not Fae enough but not foreign either. His mother treasured his worth but not him.”

Adrian feels the oppressive silence as soon as you stop speaking. A treaty you had called yourself. Yet, there remains the memory of Asor that he had a glimpse of. Was it worth it?

“The Fae are the folks of the forest. They rule nature and possess the ability to glamour it to their will. They speak in riddles, but they cannot lie. Bored out of their immortality they find immense pleasure in others’ pain. So, what do you think Adrian? Does my possible fae blood explain my tolerance to the Sun?” With the first tale out of the dark. The question now loomed in the near future.

Later in the night, when Adrian plows through all the books about the Faerie folk, he stops. For that one moment, he imagines a lonely child. A child with familiar brown hair and silver eyes. Features similar to that of the obnoxious vampire. He sees the child crouched as three humanoid figures, with their backs to him, snicker in a sinister joy. At that moment, he feels a distant dread as the figures close on to the child with unkempt hair and misfitting clothes.

In honor of it being the month of love here are my dumb little TBOSBAS shipping ideas:

Couples-

Coriolanus x Lucy Gray: A classic, really just a teenage romance between a weird dude and a musical girl, we know it, we may love it. I use it sometimes in fix-it’s when I put Sejanus with someone else (I just write about Sejanus, like almost exclusively)

Sejanus x Coriolanus: The joys of Snowjanus. Two guys in love, kind of toxic love but love. Sometimes I write them precannon, sometimes fix-it’s, sometimes in the past after the betrayal. Love them, they are so silly goofy I just get bored or angry at Coriolanus sometimes.

Sejanus x Felix: I’ve seen this briefly in Snowjanus fics to make Coryo jealous but I think it could work. I like to use it in a specific fix-it where Felix comes to Sejanus for help after getting emotionally attached to Dill and wants to end the games. I also sometimes do them pre cannon, usually as a “practice relationship” for Felix.

Sejanus x Marcus: Gotta love the friends to one sided enemies to lovers. They make me happy because I refuse to let Marcus die(can you tell I like fix-it’s) they are so fun even just as friends I love them. My angsty little guys.

Sejanus x Reaper: okay so I haven’t seen anyone else do it but it makes perfect sense to me. Two rebels who piss off the capital by honoring the dead. I love them, probably my favorite one. They make me happy because I think them together could be really cute but also a rebel power couple. Someone please say they see my vision.

Reaper x Coriolanus: Based solely on the pretty boy comment. Read a fic once it was nice I think under a very specific set of circumstances it could work well. I rarely do them solo.

Lucy Gray x Sejanus: The Coryo hate squad. Them after the betrayals just trash talking him. I like to keep them both alive but seriously traumatized. Two bright lights in a shit world. I like to think Sejanus used to play music back in 2 so they could do little duets.

Lucy Gray x Coral: women, that’s about it. But seriously they could be suck a powerful duo if they got out(again with the fix-it’s) I love them, I don’t use them much but I love them.

Coral x Sol: Don’t ask what I was doing. Secondary source except I didn’t fully read the secondary source. It was a strange move but it still makes me happy.

Sejanus x Festus: Festus being one of the nicer people to Sejanus got me thinking so this happened. I love it but also kind of hate it. Look they could be friends, maybe even better friends than Sejanus and Coryo in cannon.

Triads-

Reaper x Coriolanus x Sejanus: Basically just a combination of the two duo ships. I think they just hang out, Coryo tries really hard to fit in with them but he’s not good at it. They just hang out, be cool, be traumatized, gotta love them.

Sejanus x Coriolanus x Felix: basically the same as Sejanus and Felix but Sejanus ropes Coryo into the scheming. They cuddle a lot. Silly guys. They could also work pre cannon at the academy, give Coryo two rich boyfriends to manipulate.

Sejanus x Coriolanus x Lucy Gray: Coryo gets bitches, that’s it that’s all I got.

Sejanus x Felix x Reaper: Sejanus bonds with the other two the same as in duos then Reaper and Felix bond over Dill. They are a group of rebellious teenage dumbasses.

Quartets-

Lucy Gray x Sejanus x Coriolanus x Marcus: The Snowbairdjanus trio run away then Sejanus gets word that Marcus is alive and either buys him as an avox or breaks him out. They then do love and bonding and cuddles.

Would you like to know one of my silly little resolutions? It's actually blog more.

Because I think it's a good way for me to access the gratitude and joy! I've been keeping a wee diary doc each year since 2020 (AUSpicious as all hell to have started on Jan 1, 2020), where it's really just about putting a phrase to the notable and the delights (the most notable). Not every day, but like a handful of times a month. A huge amount of entries are just listing a food item and a film and a natural sensation, like a scent or a weather. Moments where I was happy. Not all of them! Sometimes it's good to acknowledge the sorrow and strangeness (negative) too! But being attentive to the lovely things is really, really nice.

This morning I am back in my own home, the sunlight was coming through my kitchen balcony doors bright and January-ivory and making the English muffin with the guava jam Jody sent me glow so beautifully, and now I'm going to go run around in the cold woods in head to toe fleece while probably listening to some movie podcast, and then buy an onion and some dill. And the rest of this year I'm going to practice an open elegant posture and turn in to bed early to read and make sure the dinner parties are every month---and bother you all here with more dumb jokes. Happy January 2 ♥
