random toy posting again. i love gorgonopsids, but they're VERY under-represented in the animal figure world - so much so that the 2011 wild safari inostrancevia is one of the few there is and it's apparently very sought after AND therefore way out of my budget. however, i learned there's a morerecent and more affordable schleich dinogorgon and just bought one off of ebay! my dog's vet bills were a couple of hundred euros less than i was afraid so i guess i had to throw that money somewhere because i apparently can't just, erm... be.
dimetrodon is cool and all, but....... you know give the other permian synapsids some attention..... anyway thanks schleich and ebay

Dinogorgon rubidgei
Final render for now. Dinogorgon belonged to a group of particular massive gorgonopsids known as Rubidgeinae. I based my sculpt on the specimen GPIT K16 which is described in the paper "Systematics of the Rubidgeinae (Therapsida: Gorgonopsia)", Christian F. Kammerer

Paleo-Riders Armor for Schleich Paleo-Models
The first two Dino-Riders homage armors for modern dino-toys are tested and up for sale (hand-painted Shapeways White Versatile plastic shown above). The first two releases are for the Schleich Dinogorgon and Schleich Oviraptor.
While neither Dinogorgon nor Oviraptor are particularly close to the Dino-Riders vague 1:24 scale, they can serve as standins for Inostrancevia and Hagryphus respectively.
If these two get a good response, a whole lot more of these are on the way.

My mom dropped off five gigantic sketchbooks, four of which were mine from when I was 5, 6, 7, and 8.
They’re filled with:
Casual food chain murder
A surprising number of “dogs eating pizza in alleyways/za in the paws” pieces
Sentimental things like little dragon dino thing giving his mom a card
Dinodragons (not to be confused with actual permian dinogorgons)
Narratives with mice outsmarting lions and then becoming friends with them
Epic dinosaur roaring
Every possible dragon
burrowing
animal/dinosaur friends shaking off water and mirthlessly getting the other wet
herbivorous animals living in houses that are shaped like their food (ex: rabbit lives in carrot house)
