wait whats io’s full name again. does it have meaning

dionycha helvindar ^_^ probably supposed to be said as “dionycha of house helvindar”

since she’s a drow (born in the spider dimension) and a former cleric of lolth (the spider queen goddess) i named her after a type of spider. these guys can climb glass and other smooth surfaces n stuff and well like she climbed out of the ground to live on the surface so that checks out i think

and helvindar i got from a google document listing a bunch of drow names and stuff. “helvi” means “those above” and “ndar” means “black hearts” which i looked up and apparently a black heart is a thing you use for sacrifices. she fled bc she really was not enjoying all the living sacrifices she had to make and well also “those above” makes sense since she went up there ⬆️

aaand io is the name of an actual moon of jupiter so she renamed herself that once she was accepted as a cleric of the moon goddess ^_^ idk if jupiter and its moons exist in the dnd universe but like no one explicitly said they DONT right… also i do what i want

it’s pronounced EYE-oh btw in case anyone was pronouncing it ee-oh. long i sound. basically its said exactly the same as its spelled. just say the letter i and the letter o. thats her name

therida name is based on the scientific name for some kind of spider and io is a moon but idk her birth name i want it to also be based on some kind of arachnid i think but magdelene / maggie is innmy head a little. dont care if it doesnt make sense for a drow name shes swag as fuck and can do anything. it’s dionycha now. i guess i also need to pick last names for them but i do want their last name to be like more drow-like. io currently doesnt have a last name but she used to and therida still does. whats a good drow last name. what nationality are drow are they like french or something

hey so theres my new character therida she’s io’s older sister she still follows lolth and lives in the underdark and i made her guardian look like io before becoming a selûnite (named Dionycha) and running away. and of course theres a picture of io how she looks currently bc i love her yaaay :)
