friendly but stern reminder for those of you excited to watch the premiere of the pjo tv show:

DO NOT stream it on disney+ if you have a subscription (& cancel that subscription while you’re at it).

disney has notoriously funded isnotreal’s war crimes and gen*cide in palestine with millions in donations. riordan took a “neutral” stance on the genocide, pledging support for both isnotreal and palestine, which is nonsensical at its core and completely avoids the history and gravity of the issue at hand.

DO NOT give these people your money if you have even an ounce of humanity in you. there are SO many free online p*rating sites, of which i’m sure you all have your favorites—i’ll put some of mine in the tags. episodes will be uploaded onto them almost instantly in HD quality, as they are with any show released on big streaming platforms (even if there was a greater “inconvenience” that came with pirating, it shouldn’t really affect your decision to funnel less of your money to gen*cide because this show is SO trivial in comparison).

What I don't get about the password-sharing fiasco is....if it was the olden days and you rented a couple DVD/VHS movies, until you brought them back to the shop you could do whatever with them.

You could give them to other people to watch. You could show a movie to a group of ten friends. You had already paid for the tapes, so who was going to care what you did with them in that time?

Similarly, if you have already paid for a Netflix/Max/Dianey+/Paramount+/whatever subscription, you're getting charged monthly for that. The companies have already decided how much it is worth to rent their entire catalogue to you for a month.

So during your "rental period" for these movies and shows, who are they to say what you do with them? If you have someone over for Netflix and chill, they aren't part of your household, so should they not be able to watch a movie you are renting? If you want your friends to see something cool, who cares if they live a town away? That movie is still being paid for, and your "rental" will renew the following month when you pay your bill.

It feels like going to a video store, paying for a bunch of movies, then having to march back to the store with the friend who's going to watch them with you so they can also pay for the movies......while you're still renting them.

YOOOO! HazbinHotel Trailer just Drop!😱 Spoilers Along with the Release date of Season 1 and 2! Let Us know your Opinion about it!😆

Some things we know:

Amazon Prime is the streaming service that took it up Season 1 will be released in January 2024

It's going to get a season 2

The voice actors still haven't been announced for some reason? The trailer has no dialogue on top of that. We see Lucifer, a lot of Alastor and Vox fighting, the weird demon-looking angel Adam, a meeting of Hell overlords discussing the angel threats, and Sir Pentious is part of the gang now. That's about it? The trailer's music reminds me of a Disney movie for kids. There are a lot of Tinkerbell chime noises and jazzy upbeat music which I don't think is fitting for what the show is trying to go for as a teen-to-adult plot regarding demons from Hell being murdered and dealing with abuse. (They have "Guess what, bitches?" on a text screen in the trailer too) So first impression is extreme overcrowding. List of characters that appear in the trailer alone: Charlie Alastor Vaggie Angel Dust Husker Niffty Sir Pentious Lucifer Lilith Vox Velvet Adam Rosie and we all know Cherri Bomb and Valentino are gonna show up too. These are way too many characters to introduce or juggle in an 8 episode season. There is no possible way to give our main characters enough screen time, focus, or development to make them meaningful protagonists. They either have to rush plots or drop character arcs to squeeze things into 8 episodes.

#really confused and surprised theres a season 2 announced when season 1 hasnt even been released yet #but it is A24 so maybe theyre more willing with their money than netflix or disney #im confused as to why it was announced as soon as the writers strike ended #because season 1 was finished and it was nothing but streaming service deals and PR team stuff happening at that point #so i dont think that is hte reason #it had to have been a streaming service deal still being refined #i just dont see anything meanful in the announcement trailer so #we'll have to wait for the official one #hazbin hotel #hazbin hotel critical #im kinda sad that im not excited anymore #i waited years for this series #but after helluva boss season 2 #ive kinda learned what to expect and i dont think its gonna be any good #especially because it breaks a ton of religious lore rules #and that means the world building is gonna be a mess #watch charlie vaggie and niffty get no development #everyone is still also very very red #the thumbnail alone... who are we meant to focus on?#im so tired

I just hope that Disney doesn't mess up the Percy Jackson web series like they did the movies.

IMO, the trick to success will be faithfulness to Rick's work in as far as it is possible for a web series adaption.

Disney doesn't need to go making too many unnecessary changes. If they do it right, we could at least make it to The Last Olympian, hopefully.

Yes, getting Heroes of Olympus on top would also be nice, but one thing at a time.

Rushing it is what made Sea of Monsters not so good. The way the movie ended made no sense, and pretty much killed any chance of continuing the series in film.

Loki finale got me crying

Remember when Loki died in Infinity War? We all were complaining that it wasnt good enough for Loki. That he deserves so much more story and screen time? Well the executives at disney heard us I think

They knew they couldnt lock Loki away killing him, they needed to satisfy the hunger that Loki strived for. So they gave us what we wanted. They gave him power. They gave him a throne. They made him king. But at what cost.

They couldnt kill him like that. They had to lock him in such a situation that if we wanted him back, it wouldn’t be in character anymore. He’s not the god of mischief anymore. He’s escaped us and our pleas, and our whims.

I should be proud of him but i am in tears crying my poor little heart out.

a stray thought that is entirely speculation but I can’t shake the feeling regardless:

willow 2022 is such a passion project, this we know. but something i can’t seem to shake is the feeling that Disney just didn’t expect anything to come from it. big studios are notorious for denying the creation shows that deliver astounding representation (despite the massive profits that could result from them) because it’s not a guaranteed hit. I know nothing about the film to streaming pipeline, but I can’t help but feel that if it hadn’t been for the pandemic and big studios having more resources at the time to devote to these “stray” projects, willow 2022 wouldn’t have happened at all. again, I don’t know anything about this process as a whole, but projects like these, that are so monumental in their creativity and love, never get the treatment they deserve because there’s never the financial guarantee formulaic films offer. and that’s what makes this news even more devastating for us fans and likely really hard for the cast and crew of this show.
