I am so fucking sick of people in my life disrescting me and constantly overstepping my boundaries. What is the point of stating things, expressing your thoughts/feelings, or establishing boundaries for your own well-being if so many people in your life will just blatantly disregard what has been said.

My guy friend sometimes gets super obsessive with me. He knows I only see him as a friend. We are both in our late 20s. He sometimes crosses boundaries with inappropriate comments or behavior, and it definitely makes me feel creeped out. Sometimes he realizes what he's doing but... other times he just continues making weird comments. Very inappropriate things. He has a huge crush on me and it's super known. But when he gets these "urges" he won't respect me and then blames me for dressing a certain way ( usually a tee/leggings). I don't want to end the friendship but at the same time I don't want to be disrespected because he can't control himself. I told him how I felt and he said he'll work on it. But at the same time I don't understand why he thinks it's still okay. I definitely have stepped back at least.. it's been 10 hours. But he started playing the victim because I shouldn't be dressing sexual 🙄 even tho I don't.
Hey there,
I think that you have been doing the right thing in regards to taking a step back with this guy friend of yours. I am sorry though that despite him saying that he will ‘work’ on making changes and how he sees/ treats you, that he obviously keeps going back to how he first was with you. I wonder if he acts this way when you’re alone with him or if he does it also when you are with a group of friends? If it’s not the latter then is it possible for you to just hang out with him when you are not solely left alone with him? Perhaps doing this will help to also take his mind off of you as he will be focused on others within the friend group as well. Just an idea!
It can be really frustrating when someone (no matter who they are) treats us in ways that is both inappropriate and makes us feel uncomfortable and especially after we have made our feelings quite clear. I know that you said that you do not want to end the friendship, but there may come a time when you need to say enough is enough and take further action – even if it means ending the friendship. Maybe though, when he is in a good space and isn’t disrespecting you or making you feel uncomfortable, you could try again to speak with him in regards to how he makes you feel at times and that you have a right to dress how you would like and if he wants the friendship to continue then he has to learn how to deal with that and to not continue to play the victim when he can’t control himself due to how you dress. Sometimes, unfortunately no matter how much one may try though, they simply just can’t switch off their feelings that they may have for another. It is times like these that hard changes may need to be made, even though it might both sadden you and make you feel really bad. Please keep in mind though that you have done nothing wrong, you are not at fault, and you have the right to dress as you want without others making you feel bad or uncomfortable about it.
I really hope that this has helped a bit and please do let us know if we can help to support you in any other way!
I’m thinking of you and hope that you are going OK!
Take care,
Lauren

This is some cold-ass shit. As President, Biden has to say something. But he can say it in a way that says nothing and everything.
I want to shake the hand of the staffer that wrote this because this is absolutely fucking superb.
I know we (in general but especially neuroatypicals) prefer things to be clear and straightforward. But occasionally, you can do things in full view of the world like this. And that's kind of incredible.

Gentle reminder that very little fandom labor is automated, because I think people forget that a lot.
That blog with a tagging system you love? A person curates those tags by hand.
That rec blog with a great organization scheme and pretty graphics? Someone designed and implemented that organization scheme and made those graphics.
That network that posts a cool variety of stuff? People track down all that variety and queue it by hand, and other people made all the individual pieces.
That post with umpteen links to helpful resources, and information about them? Someone gathered those links, researched the sources, wrote up the information about them.
That graphic about fandom statistics? Someone compiled those statistics, analyzed them, organized them, figured out a useful way to convey the information to others, and made the post.
That event that you think looks neat? Someone wrote the rules, created the blogs and Discords, designed the graphics, did their best to promo the event so it'd succeed.
None of this was done automatically. None of it just appears whole out of the internet ether.
I think everyone realizes that fic writing and fanart creation are work, and at least some folks have got it through their heads that gif creation and graphics and moodboards take effort, and meta is usually respected for the effort that goes into it, at least as far as I've seen, but I feel like a lot of people don't really get how much labor goes into curation, too.
If people are creating resources, curating content, organizing the creations of others, gathering information, and doing other fandom activities that aren't necessarily the direct action of creation, they're doing a lot of fandom labor, and it's often largely unrecognized.
Celebrate fan work!
To folks doing this kind of labor: I see you, and I thank you. You are the backbones of our fandoms and I love you.

Exodus 6: God Comforts Moses and Confirms What His Mighty Hand Can and Will Do
1 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh: Because of my mighty hand he will let them go; because of my mighty hand he will drive them out of his country.”
2 God also said to Moses, “I am the Lord.
3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by my name the Lord I did not make myself fully known to them.
4 I also established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, where they resided as foreigners.
5 Moreover, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered my covenant.
6 “Therefore, say to the Israelites: ‘I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.
7 I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.
8 And I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob. I will give it to you as a possession. I am the Lord.’”
9 Moses reported this to the Israelites, but they did not listen to him because of their discouragement and harsh labor.
10 Then the Lord said to Moses,
11 “Go, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the Israelites go out of his country.”
12 But Moses said to the Lord, “If the Israelites will not listen to me, why would Pharaoh listen to me, since I speak with faltering lips?”
Family Record of Moses and Aaron
13 Now the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron about the Israelites and Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he commanded them to bring the Israelites out of Egypt.
14 These were the heads of their families:
The sons of Reuben the firstborn son of Israel were Hanok and Pallu, Hezron and Karmi. These were the clans of Reuben.
15 The sons of Simeon were Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jakin, Zohar and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman. These were the clans of Simeon.
16 These were the names of the sons of Levi according to their records: Gershon, Kohath and Merari. Levi lived 137 years.
17 The sons of Gershon, by clans, were Libni and Shimei.
18 The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel. Kohath lived 133 years.
19 The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi.
These were the clans of Levi according to their records.
20 Amram married his father’s sister Jochebed, who bore him Aaron and Moses. Amram lived 137 years.
21 The sons of Izhar were Korah, Nepheg and Zikri.
22 The sons of Uzziel were Mishael, Elzaphan and Sithri.
23 Aaron married Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab and sister of Nahshon, and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
24 The sons of Korah were Assir, Elkanah and Abiasaph. These were the Korahite clans.
25 Eleazar son of Aaron married one of the daughters of Putiel, and she bore him Phinehas.
These were the heads of the Levite families, clan by clan.
26 It was this Aaron and Moses to whom the Lord said, “Bring the Israelites out of Egypt by their divisions.”
27 They were the ones who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt about bringing the Israelites out of Egypt—this same Moses and Aaron.
Aaron to Speak for Moses
28 Now when the Lord spoke to Moses in Egypt,
29 he said to him, “I am the Lord. Tell Pharaoh king of Egypt everything I tell you.”
30 But Moses said to the Lord, “Since I speak with faltering lips, why would Pharaoh listen to me?”

Sorry, everything about her reaction to his transition pisses me off. The beautiful young man shown in the video should not have been disrespected like that and I wish this random woman and everyone in her comments that ridiculed that young man for being and becoming himself the day they deserve (which is shitty. The deserve the worst day possible.).
