Ok, so those guys are two of the fossil pokemon for sword and shield. And I came across a 4chan thread in which Dracovolt was the subject.

The OP states: “ This little fucker woke up one day and was probably 5 times fatter than he once was but is still the happiest looking thing on the planet. I love him like you wouldn’t believe. “ Attaching the picture I posted in question.

One of the responses was a webm showing it eating a curry, showing off its body in better detail. 

it’s got a skinny-ass torso and an illegally thicc af Nikki Minaj butt. Which brings up the apparent implication that the revival went horribly wrong, the DNA samples got mixed up, due to the paleontologists probably getting tanked and decided to see what horrors they could make.

I didn’t touch on Artcozolt, but it only has its neck and hands exposed in the same fashion as Dracovolt has its torso exposed, but the former looks like the rest of its proper body is trapped in a giant snowball that grew legs.

Arctovish looks like he dodged an alcohol-induced bullet. but I have yet to see its backside to be sure

cant believe people are genuinely mad at gamefreak for the fucked up combo fossil pokemon in SWSH. I feel sorry for the poor things for having to exist but I also love that they did something so wacky and original with the fossil pokemon this time round, and it is absolutely based on actual hilarious mistakes in British paleontology, so overall I love the gen 8 fossil mon. Dracovolt is my favourite

I recently celebrated my 40th birthday, and for a few days beforehand, there were four mysterious wrapped packages in the comfy beanbag room (in Christmas paper, yes.  We have a very laid-back approach to wrapping paper selection in this household, other than “the vintage Hannah Montana paper is for extremely special occasions only”.)  Some gifts had apparently been procured for me all the way from Japan!  What on earth could four things, individually wrapped in two different completely mismatching kinds of wrapping paper, be?

Well.  I figured it out as soon as I unwrapped Arctovish.

After I was done laughing, I unwrapped everyone else and booped their noses and hugged them for a bit.  Now they are up here in my room with me!  I had no idea I could have a set of abominations of my very own, and housemate was absolutely right to jump on the opportunity when he saw them available via Meccha Japan.

(For non-Pokemon people, there are four total fossils that can randomly be found in the latest set of games: a bird(’s head) and a frozen dinosaur thingy(’s butt) in Sword, and a fish(’s head) and a dragon(’s butt) in Shield.  You can take them to a mad scientist whose name is, I am not kidding, Cara Liss (say it out loud fast if you need to), and she will jam them together into four different combinations and bring them back to horrible, tampering-in-God’s-domain life. And then you have a new friend to shove into a tiny ball and carry around in your pocket.

I call them the abominations, and I adore them.)

Anyway!  So far being 40 is a lot like being 39.  Kind of looking forward to 42, though.
