oc time! let’s meet leandra!
when i started coming up with ideas for odette’s next adventure, i was still well into writing an eagle among lions, a story that taught me a very important lesson: i will never stop writing edelgard.
so, clearly, if i wanted to have any chance of moving on, i need to make my own edelgard. with blackjack. and hookers. and then i could make her kiss my other ocs

this is leandra von adalhart, daughter to duke adalhart and sole heir to her house, which was once quite prominent but had fallen on hard times when a fire gutted her family’s manor and led to the deaths of her younger brother and two older sisters. controversy has plagued the house adalhart ever since, with some rumors claiming that she and her father set the fire on purpose to ensure that she would be the house’s sole inheritor.
the shroud of secrecy she drapes herself in does nothing to dissuade the people from crafting such rumors. she always wears something around her neck, as though to hide something; the leading theory among her peers is that she’s secretly part-dullahan and if she removes it her head will fall off a la “the green ribbon.” that is one of the more polite rumors.
leandra lives in a world where magic has been monopolized by the nobility and its existence has been hidden from the common man—a world where anybody who demonstrates a gift for magic outside of the noble houses must graduate from the imperial witchcraft academy or die trying. she doesn’t like it—but what can one young woman whose house’s star has long since fallen do about it?
she may not have much, but one thing she does have is the hraesvelgr vitalita: a powerful magical artifact created long ago by one of the sages who defeated the great sorcerer-king whose name had been stricken from history did such a half-assed job defeating the evil sorcerer-king that odette had to finish the job 1,000 years later.

also, she’s going to be odette’s roommate. they may not have much in common, but at the very least, they can both respect that they prefer being left alone by other people.
however, though leandra might put on a cold and aloof facade, deep down she is a consummate meddler and mother hen... and odette is going to need all the help she can get when it comes to making it through the academy alive, whether she likes it or not.
