THE REDESIGN SAGA CONTINUES
This is a funny one, cause it has problematics faves and one that I truly hate, let's discover which one together!
Cleo Denile: based more on what I found was the royal egyptian attire at the time, but in the form of a full body with pants, making the yellowish tones as the main theme instead of the blues. If I have done a goof with this one I would apreciate the feedback cause I'm not egyptian, and idk much about the culture-.
"I am worthy of a kingdom father, and I would rip my heart to prove it"
Kieran Valentine: just a few chances to simplify his attire, and also gave him the monster characteristics I love so much. Emotional vampires have little hairs on their ears, as well as a more "puppy bat" nose.
"I never loved draculaura! I have never loved any ghoul!"
Spelldon Cauldronello: okay this one was interesting, cause I just had a strong will and Casta Fierce for a reference for this faceless man. Obviously very punk, and very halloween!. He is a creation of Circe (I like the idea that he was created from soil and like, magic stuff). While Casta inherited the wand and the transformation magic. He inherited the innate talents of herbology and potion making.
"A moly tea a day keeps the enchantments away!"
Gillington "Gil" Webber: Oh boy here we are. From all monster high g1 it's safe to say I really really hate Gil's design, like ever since I was little I have hated that man for his design alone.
The only thing I saved from him was the water breathing thing and his ""hair"". But I have him a more indigo blue color palette to make it different from Lagoona. And while I don't support this ship, I also get where both of them are coming from (also if I ever make mini comics this is a juicy story I would love to write)
"Why "us" needs to be so complicated? Why can't I do something right?"
.
.
Now that I have most of the main cast of characters on character sheets I can finally start a process of "writting an actual mini comic and not procastinating"
Will see how that one goes but hey let's have some hope-
You can support me on my KO FI

18th August >> Mass Readings (Except USA)
Friday, Nineteenth Week in Ordinary Time
(Liturgical Colour: Green: A (1))
First Reading Joshua 24:1-13 I gave you a land where you never toiled, vineyards and olive-groves you never planted.
Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel together at Shechem; then he called the elders, leaders, judges and scribes of Israel, and they presented themselves before God. Then Joshua said to all the people:
‘The Lord, the God of Israel says this, “In ancient days your ancestors lived beyond the River – such was Terah the father of Abraham and of Nahor – and they served other gods. Then I brought your father Abraham from beyond the River and led him through all the land of Canaan. I increased his descendants and gave him Isaac. To Isaac I gave Jacob and Esau. To Esau I gave the mountain country of Seir as his possession. Jacob and his sons went down into Egypt. Then I sent Moses and Aaron and plagued Egypt with the wonders that I worked there. So I brought you out of it. I brought your ancestors out of Egypt, and you came to the Sea; the Egyptians pursued your ancestors with chariots and horsemen as far as the Sea of Reeds. There they called to the Lord, and he spread a thick fog between you and the Egyptians, and made the sea go back on them and cover them. You saw with your own eyes the things I did in Egypt. Then for a long time you lived in the wilderness, until I brought you into the land of the Amorites who lived beyond the Jordan; they made war on you and I gave them into your hands; you took possession of their country because I destroyed them before you. Next, Balak son of Zippor the king of Moab arose to make war on Israel, and sent for Balaam son of Beor to come and curse you. But I would not listen to Balaam; instead, he had to bless you, and I saved you from his hand. ‘“When you crossed the Jordan and came to Jericho, those who held Jericho fought against you, as did the Amorites and Perizzites, the Canaanites, Hittites, Girgashites, Hivites and Jebusites, but I put them all into your power. I sent out hornets in front of you, which drove the two Amorite kings before you; this was not the work of your sword or your bow. I gave you a land where you never toiled, you live in towns you never built; you eat now from vineyards and olive-groves you never planted.”’
The Word of the Lord
R/ Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm Psalm 135(136):1-3,16-18,21-22,24
O give thanks to the Lord for he is good.
R/ Great is his love, love without end.
Give thanks to the God of gods.
R/ Great is his love, love without end.
Give thanks to the Lord of lords.
R/ Great is his love, love without end.
Through the desert his people he led.
R/ Great is his love, love without end.
Nations in their greatness he struck.
R/ Great is his love, love without end.
Kings in their splendour he slew.
R/ Great is his love, love without end.
He let Israel inherit their land.
R/ Great is his love, love without end.
On his servant their land he bestowed.
R/ Great is his love, love without end.
And he snatched us away from our foes.
R/ Great is his love, love without end.
Gospel Acclamation Psalm 110:7,8
Alleluia, alleluia! Your precepts, O Lord, are all of them sure; they stand firm for ever and ever. Alleluia!
Or: cf. 1 Thessalonians 2:13
Alleluia, alleluia! Accept God’s message for what it really is: God’s message, and not some human thinking. Alleluia!
Gospel Matthew 19:3-12 Husband and wife are no longer two, but one body.
Some Pharisees approached Jesus, and to test him they said, ‘Is it against the Law for a man to divorce his wife on any pretext whatever?’ He answered, ‘Have you not read that the creator from the beginning made them male and female and that he said: This is why a man must leave father and mother, and cling to his wife, and the two become one body? They are no longer two, therefore, but one body. So then, what God has united, man must not divide.’ They said to him, ‘Then why did Moses command that a writ of dismissal should be given in cases of divorce?’ ‘It was because you were so unteachable’ he said ‘that Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but it was not like this from the beginning. Now I say this to you: the man who divorces his wife – I am not speaking of fornication – and marries another, is guilty of adultery.’
The disciples said to him, ‘If that is how things are between husband and wife, it is not advisable to marry.’ But he replied, ‘It is not everyone who can accept what I have said, but only those to whom it is granted. There are eunuchs born that way from their mother’s womb, there are eunuchs made so by men and there are eunuchs who have made themselves that way for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let anyone accept this who can.’
The Gospel of the Lord
R/ Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

BITCH, I AM ALIVE AND BACK but i'm mentally unwell lol
Hello everyone, remember me? The michael slut, i mean, THE michael slut? yes, i am alive. well, no, i just JUST finished peaky (literally, 5 minutes ago) and i've been writting down my thoughts from various scenes. I will start to post again, and EVERYTHING that contains a spoiler will be in the TW! so, without further ado, here is my hot take on scenes and what they made me feel, think, understand and love. Some, are just thots, and some thoughts are Oxford-Harvard-Yale entrance exam worthy. Yes, i believe i am that good sometimes.
Please, ignore the spanish subtitles!
ps: i'm mentally unwell because of the show, i'm doing just fine
Tumblr media
anyway, TW: SEASON 6 SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT
Tumblr media
Honestly, this first scene… I love it. We all know I am a sucker for Michael, and I love him very very much. The whole dead nature and the whole gothic style the show has embraced is something unexpected, yet it makes so much sense they went this way and the show developed like this. I remember Tommy using blue shirts, Grace’s pinks, and some colour here and there.
Tumblr media
This scene, with Tom Hardy, is ep2: “the last act for my opera”, the jazz hands, the hip thing he did… Alfie has lost the plot. No thoughts, only a small cat with cute eyes in his mind. He looks as if his cancer was getting better, we remember he had that awful pink thing, but I don’t know if it’s because what they did to save him because of the shot he got from Tommy. I love how much and yet so less we know about the characters, that, I believe, is the whole Tommy effect: you know who he is, how he looks like, but you NEVER know what’s happening with him, to him, because of him. Anyway, back to Alfie: I’m extremely happy he’s back on track, trying to tear down some north American empire. Also reminds me of "listen here, sweetie".
Tumblr media
Okay, this scene with Jack Nelson. The shot is absolutely majestic. It tastes exquisite, like actually tastes. It also makes me feel unsettled. At first, I thought it was Tommy but turned out to be Jack. I don’t have much to say, but I’ll try to explain the only thing it makes me feel: have you seen that bride’s corpse movie? Where the little dude has a knife on his stomach and when he drinks the beer, it leaves through his stomach because he has a hole? This shot reminds me EXACTLY of that. Am I insane? Probably. But it leaves me satisfied yet depressed like OH RIGHT. On to the next thing about this shot, this church reminded me a lot of the church where Tommy and Grace got married.
Tumblr media
“I just read pornography and politics.” She feels like a pick me type of girl, almost fake. Like, she’s trying to be this male fantasy. Don’t get me wrong, I’m liking this character, bold and disrespectful, yet classy and snake-y type of girl, she’s well written, and she looks like she hides things, I’m loving it. Her and Tommy have a past, I am CERTAIN (I’m writing this while I have to finish ep 5 and 6, so we’ll see if I was right). Everything she does feels calculated and I thrive for that, she also makes me think she’s Tommy Shelby but as a woman, the Egyptian jar and all… she’s a smart girlie, and we stan forever a smart girlie.
Tumblr media
Okay, WE GOT THE WALK. I like how Arthur is looking down, makes me think as if he was ashamed to be like he was in the old times, but then I’m like “maybe he’s ashamed of what everyone knows about him?” addiction is something that people feel a lot of shame about… But what if this is a small pep talk he’s giving himself? Btw, the tallest one is Daryl aka Isaiah and OH MY LORD !! WHAT !! give this guy more screen time because I fell quick, hard, and forever, good lord. Also, talking about Isaiah, I love how they didn’t make him just a “party animal” and they gave him a proper job, a girlie… This is what we needed for him.
Tumblr media
I WILL NEVER SHUT UP ABOUT THIS FUCKING SCENE LIKE WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKKKKKK.
Okay: we ALL knew ruby was going to die, it was clear as day. But, this scene and the lightning. The use of lights is a thing of never-ending possibilities. And they KNOW this (we know that) and use it to the maximum extent -we also know this, but it HAS to be admired. In this particular second, Lizzie says something along the lines of “and now they put her with the dead people”, and she’s illuminated with the light of a car. Light à illumination à knowledge. I think that was the phrase that made her have this epiphany, hence the light hitting her (replace the word light with fact, and there you go.) It wasn’t the first time she said it, though. She said “she left, 5:17.” Various times, and explained to tommy how it was, and then she said “and now they put her where dead people are. They put her with the dead.” And lightened her, completely, and then she falls on the ground and starts to cry. And I have never seen such a beautiful yet painful allegory.
Tumblr media
Okay, let’s talk about THIS MASTERPIECE.
First, let’s talk about Arthur’s psychosis: “I thought they would be full of blood”. Even though, they are not, they are. Every single brick in that house, was afforded with blood. And everything is stained with blood, Tommy even acknowledged it in that scene where he’s shaking hands and goes “My hands have blood” “Oh, mine too”. So, that blood in the barrel, could not only be his deteriorated mental state, but also his guilt. Maybe, the barrel he was drinking from was already open, and he didn’t want to open another one because opening another barrel would be opening up his bottled trauma, and he would end up hanging himself, or drowning in the wine. (now, change wine for guilt.)
I wholeheartedly believe Arthur will OD in this final season. (HE DIDNT OH MY GOD)
Now, the conversation they had in this scene: Tommy telling him how he knew Arthur wanted Tommy to win, because Arthur has been battling addiction for EVER, the memory he talks about, they were 9 and 12. Arthur allowed Tommy to win, because… maybe he was afraid? Shame and regret are two things VERY present in Arthur, and I think they will end up killing him. Even though he has a strong will power, I don’t believe it to be strong enough. End of ep 4, where he is getting WAY too high… I think by the end of ep 5, he will be dead in an alley.
Tumblr media
In the end, when everything is shit, when everything is broken, when everything is a mess and everyone is ready to quit... they still have eachother. Alfie saying "if you want to talk about your feelings go to someone that cares" BULLSHIT ALFIE BULLSHIIIIITTTTT they work SO well together. I love this duo.
Tumblr media
It was a funeral. A funeral for the old tommy. The tommy that gave up on everything, the tommy that was, but not during season 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5. I'm talking about the master shift that there was in his character in season 6: a cleaner, yet even darker and more toxic Tommy. And, someone else buried him -be it Mosley, the doctor, etc.- and this other person did what he couldn't bring himself to. And this time, he came back from the dead. And, just like he said in s4 "we were dead once, the rest doesn't matter" or something like that, in john's funeral... this time, it DOES matter. And this upcoming movie is going to fuck us into our next life.

Those Ancient Laws
(work in progress)
Reading any classical work, from any civilisation up until the beginning of our modern age, and you will see that these same customs everywhere. egyptian, canaanite, jewish, roman, greek, chinese, hindu, christian, muslim; even the fucking aztecs  these ‘ancient commandments’ were so important in the culture and daily lives of all these people that they are barely even explicitly stated, despite being implicit throughout everything they writ and did. the best example of this is marriage. everywhere, every single culture on earth has some form of it; yet the precise laws, ceremonies, and customs of it vary wildly. monogamy? polygamy? dowries? divorce? remarriage? taboos around sex itself? the bafflingly widespread custom of wife-kidnapping? etc etc etc yet in some form, it exists everywhere and only perhaps in this modern age has its importance lessened.
i believe there are two possible hypotheses for this: 1. that God himself, the LORD almighty, proclaimed these laws unto all peoples in the most ancient days; hence why the pagans (all of them) kept these customs and believed them just as important as the israelites, and later christian and muslim nations did. 2. that these behaviours are simply the result of convergent evolution, that the ancients found that this was simply the best most efficient way of maintaining a functioning society.
these hypothetical commandments (as far as i can tell) were thus:
timekeeping
righteousness
funerals
marriage
purity
hospitality
worship
royalty
priesthood
taxation
sacrifice
now, before you read on, please note that this is not a theory which makes me happy. neither am i some kind of weird neotrad misogynist who believes this is all good actually and that we must retvrn. its actually something i find immensely troubling. these laws began to fall away as the world became more moral.  as women began to be seen as equal, as slavery was abolished, free thought---------etcetcwritemorebetterlater elaboration:- ~.~.~.~.~.~.~
timekeeping *to observe the heavens and know their patterns and movements: the sun, the moon; the stars, and the planets. the clouds, the weather, and other things. *to keep the hours, count the days, record the years, and remember the ages. *to mark the seasons and to keep festival. *to do things at the appropriate time. ~ *of forecasting and prognosticating *of the heavenly realms
righteousness *to be honest, and never cheat nor lie nor adulterate. *to be straight, worthy, and dependable. *to know the weights and measures, ratios and proportions; and keep them. *to build things soundly and to last. *to recompensate damages *to strive for peace ~
+
funerals *to lay the dead to rest that they neither pollute the land nor wander as a ghost. *to guide the deceased to the afterlife *to ensure the fairness of inheritances and bequeathments. *to allow mourners to grieve *to honour and remember the dead.
marriages *to honour life and love and bless new families *to preserve lineages, and prevent accidental incest *to halt the spread of venereal disease *to prevent jealousy within a community. *to subjugate women. *to end war and unite peoples
+
purity *to keep clean, to observe taboo of custom, of foods, of *that the sick, menstruating women, newborn infants, women after childbirth, prostitutes, certain animals, tramps and foreigners, those whose work is low and filthy such as miners, metalworkers, etc; are unclean. *against the violation of holy things *against pollution of the self, pollution of the air, pollution of the waters, pollution of the land, pollution of the food. *of the purifying of unclean things *
hospitality *to always be kind, welcoming, and helpful to any guest, visitor, or stranger - for any stranger may be an angel, or a god in disguise. *to give charity to the poor
worship worship is something few of us today understand. how often do you worship is complete loyalty, respect and obedience.  that the child should respect and obey the parent. that the woman should respect and obey her man. that the slave should respect and obey the master. that the serf should respect and obey the lord. that the people should respect and obey their king or leader. that everyone all should respect and obey the LORD God almighty. that an individual should know their place, and obey their betters; and treat those below them well as they would wish to be treated.
royalty that might makes right. that the defeated should submit to the victor. that the strong should protect the weak, that the rich should take care of the poor. strength and beauty are the pride and glory of earthly creatures - therefore let only the proudest of men dare lift their faces up to heaven, and let them compare with the majesty of the LORD. a king must be worthy of worship, and may be usurped if he acts unkingly and loses favour. but a king has the right to impose a taboo upon his people, or to wage war against another kingdom; however the warrior-nobility must always submit to the priesthood.
priesthood that there are those who are set apart to live a holy life. and they must not perform ordinary work, but must live on donations and devote their lives to preserving these above commandments.  that is: keeping the hours, being righteous, performing the sacred rites such as blessings, weddings, and funerals. remaining pure. commanding festivals, guiding the people, and instructing them. being hospitable to guests, and helping the poor and unfortunate. all in worship of the LORD. the priesthood must maintain loyalty to the ruling class, performing an advisory function; but with the power to challenge any royal proclamation and veto any proposal.
taboos taboos are variable or temporary laws which an authority may enact in response to various circumstances, so long as they do not infringe upon the previous commandments.  ie; a mothers word is law over her children,   but her husbands word is law over her,   but the kings word is law over him and her both, and the whole country;   but Gods law is The Law, and rules over-all. a king may enact various taboos, which are binding until annulled for example on the extraction/harvesting/hunting of a certain resource, making a certain piece of land forbidden, banning a certain custom or a practise; regulating commerce, imposing tariffs and/or taxes, conscripting workers/soldiers, etc etc
sacrifice something so strange and hard for us to understand in the modern age. to purposely destroy resources. your own resources. and not just any, but only ever the best and most prize goods. their cattle, their corn. i wont even pretend to know or understand why they did this, but it was ubiquitous. maybe even more ubiquitous than misogyny.

Work weekend: the new Lower Kingdom
Working this weekend on updating the situation in the Lower Kingdom region, including the city of Rheksus and environs. Need to set up what has been happening back at 'home' while the PCs are in the Valisian freeholds and the rebellious former Upper Kingdom region.
When we left this region:
Armies of the new Pharaoh had liberated Rheksus from the Slavers Society's brigands and the Hyksos Sisterhood.
An ancient city of Bael Turath, Vor Rukoth, had become unburied from the Bloodsand Desert.
The Hyksos were next driven out of their efforts to pillage the fallen Kovaloi queendom of Setessa.
The greatwyrm Nistru felt the sphinx had tresspassed into her territory and roused to punish the city of Rheksus and rout the Pharaoh's forces, forcing the reuinification efort to stall its march down the Akhenaten River to the great ocean.
In response to Nistru's desolation, the Hyksos Sisterhood were defeated, their patron Apophis fled her home in the Herrenia Mountains, balancing the scales.
What happened next was unexpected, the Slavers Society were betrayed, driven from Djeser-al-Moqqara by a traitorous mercenary force of dragonborn from the lands of old Arkhosia.
Oh, and diplomats and merchants from Nerathi Alliance across the Liirean Sea had arrived with requests to open trade, resettle the Kovaloi Nova colonies and carve a canal from the Liirean to the Akhenaten River to bypass the active Nistru and her now active raiders.
So, where are we now?
It will have been only a few months (as we would count them, need to finish up that timekeeping bit) should the PCs return when anticipated, so things have not dramatically changed. The dragonborn are consolidating their hold over the lands ignored beyond the Society's focus on Djeser-al-Moqqara. The new authority is calling itself the Dominion of the Scale and establishing satrapies and subduing the populace. Been looking to Ptolemaic Egypt as a sort of vibe here, but replace the Roman vibe with more of a Meso-American one, while also drawing on inspiration from the Dragon Empire of the Midgard setting. I may check back to 13th Age for some inspiration.
For Khonsuria, the re-establishing of their nomes (Egyptian-based governing regions) in and around Rheksus is the priority, but so is dealing with religious and cultural issues arising from the Kovaloi and the contact with the Nerathi humans. Rheksus is seeing an exodus of Kovaloi and some of their poorer citizens back into the former Kovaloi Nova territories, while also needing to remain vigilant as those fleeing the dragonkin from the south and west pour in.
It is Kovaloi Nova that things are the most dynamic. The territory is torn into the lands "claimed" by Nistru (or at least, where the dragon forbids any one else settling down), the new territory of Vor Rukoth (as its treasure-seekers settle and build their own settlements), and the foothold the Nerathi have claimed, re-opening the ruined cities and establishing the infrastructure necessary to build their canal. Here I'm moving into a more city-state era of ancient Greece mixed with the full-on fantasy of rediscovered/imagined Bael Turath culture.
The territory is full of interesting directions to go - there is Setessa for Crag, the Kovaloi writ large for Crag and Cadmus both, keeping the secret of the Meloreum and its oracle safe for Amon, the tantalizing secrets of Vor Rukoth for Kaspar, and the changing situation in Rheksus for the twins, Ab'a and Hati'a. Several of the factions see one or all the PCs are champions and allies but they may find those loyalties tests as the factions now have differing and somewhat conflicting goals.

Someone just described people in the Bronze age (4500 years ago) as "early humans" and I think I took some actual physical damage ...
Just so you know
The species of Homo Sapiens seems to be ruffly 300 000 years old give or take
So 300 000 years ago in the last dregs of the paleolithicum you could speak of early humans
(You propably could make a point that the ancestors of Homo Sapiens also fall under early human ... but that is a different discussion)
After that ... even at 200 000 years I would no longer speak of early humans ...
200,000 years ago: oldest known grass bedding, including insect-repellent plants and ash layers beneath (possibly for a dirt-free, insulated base and to keep away arthropods).[3][4][5]
And at 100 000 years I'd ask you what you are smokeing becasue:
100,000 years ago: Earliest structures in the world (sandstone blocks set in a semi-circle with an oval foundation) built in Egypt close to Wadi Halfa near the modern border with Sudan.[16]
But 4500?
That was yesterday ...
Like at 4500 years you already have sophisticated cultures like the Minoans
Egyptians have figured out deliberate mummification
And we have just eneterd the age of recorded history becasue some cultures have figured out writting (especially in Sumer and Egypt)
Those are not early humans ... those are not even middle humans ...
Like ...
They are closer to us then they are to the stoneage ...
Seriously I think I just died a little bit inside ...

y’all ever just think about if our ancestors had the same reactions to cats as we did? Like can you imagine an ancient Egyptian squealing while petting a cat
Or a colonial woman calling a cat her trash goblin or smth
Or like someone honoring their cat or telling legends about “mr pussyfoot was so cute that he caused the duke to squeal” or “ I heard the Dutchesses cat was so fluffy that the way she pays her servants is by letting them nuzzle them”
or like even just writting about their cats like about how calming they are and writting a very excited letter across the sea to their Freind to brag about their cat falling asleep on their lap?
I think this is worth consideration

𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓             ... [Nitocris] succeeded her brother. He had been the king of Egypt, and he had been put to death by his subjects, who then placed her upon the throne. Determined to avenge his death, she devised a cunning scheme by which she destroyed a vast number of Egyptians. She constructed a spacious underground chamber and, on pretense of inaugurating it, threw a banquet, inviting all those whom she knew to have been responsible for the murder of her brother. Suddenly as they were feasting, she let the river in upon them by means of a large, secret duct. (Herodotus)

English is not my native tongue! so if I ever type a sentence that makes little sense or write a word incorrectly, it’s due to that 😳
VERY HIGHLY SPORADIC ACTIVITY. My attention wanders all over the place so this blog will remain as low acitvity, If this isn´t ur cup of tea then I would advice to consider again following.
I am not an expert historian! so although I do my best to research about the muse im writting and the history and context where they come from, I (politely) ask u to pls understand that if in any case I happen to not be aware of certain things, it´s due to that and I ask u to pls do correct me (politely) (*꒦ິㅂ꒦ີ)
mun & muse are both +18 (mun is 22 currently!)
Not affiliated with the Fate fandom.
Duplicates & crossover friendly !!
general dni criteria applies here
If you are not aware of F.ate as a franchise or the game F.go pls do not feel scared of interacting! there is no need to have prior knowledge about the universe (fate) where my muse comes from and if you have any questions i’m always happy to answer !
I will not assume any sort of relationship beforehand between our characters except platonic as a first stance; I ask you to please respect this and not assume anything from my Nito as well!. Just like any relationship (of any kind) it will require development.
Alongside this post, please do not assume or dictate me how to write my own muse, this has happened before and it makes me very uncomfortable (*꒦ິㅂ꒦ີ)
Due to his character, this blog will remain as Fewship & very HIGHLY selective. I´m more inclined to ship with friends / people i know / people I can click OOC wise more, yet if you are interested in developing something between our muses, be it platonic or romantic, I am certainly not against that if the chemistry is present ! Aside this, i will not ship with underaged muses nor with underaged muns.
muse does not equal mun & I do not condone my muse´s actions.
And that´s it! apologies if any of these sounded harsh, let´s just respecc each other and have fun! thank u for dropping by!

Note
"I own a copie of Herodotus" and "I have read him" are two different things. If you had read Herodotus, you would not have accused him on your blog of writting that the ancient Egyptians... coated their servants with honey and used them as traps for flies ! This story that you attributed to Herodotus has nothing to do with him and is in fact of Egyptian origin, concerning Pharaoh Pepi II of the Old Kingdom. So, I infer that you have not read the "Histories" in their entirety and seriously.

Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut
Hatshepsut the famous Egyptian queen who became pharaoh, ruled during the early 18th dynasty of the new kingdom, her career first as regent for her stepson nephew/Thutmose III, and her later joint role with him lasted less than 15 years but it is region that is writ large in History . She began by announcing that the god Amun had spoken to her, saying, "Welcome my sweet daughter, my favorite, the king of Upper and Lower Egypt, Maatkare, Hatshepsut. Thou art the King, take possession of the Two Lands.
Hatshepsut's greatest achievement is the Mortuary Temple at Deir el-Bahri, Hatshepsut's temple was also known as Djeser-Djeseru, (Holy of Holies)built in an extremely innovative but elegant architectural style, against and Into the high cliffs that rose behind It. It is built on the cliffs of the valley near the Peak of Thebes. There, Hatshepsut had her life story inscribed. Beginning with her reign, the independent evolution of the royal funerary temple can be followed.

Hatshepsut temple consists of three levels; it also contains the home of two statues of Osiris, sphinx avenue and colonnades with Square Pillars. It holds the shrine of Hathor that has a hypostyle hall with twelve beautiful columns; and the chapel of Anubis that has a hypostyle hall with fluted columns; there is also a sanctuary of Amun.
The walls were all painted with a colorful account of trading expedition to Punt, which was on the coast of Africa near the Red Sea, where the images showed ships of her army led by her general, Nehsi. Also, the trading expeditions brought back vast riches including ivory, ebony, gold, leopard skins and incense.
She was more interested in ensuring economic prosperity and building and restoring monuments throughout Egypt and Nubia than in conquering new lands. Hatshepsut even had to wear the clothes, accessories, and outfits of men. The queen stated to her people that she was the son of the god Amun.
