Summary: You decide to visit Wakanda and end up getting kidnapped by someone who tried to hack Griot but the badass bitch you are, you fight them off and teach T'Challa how to play a game. Shuri and you get closer.

A/n: this took me long enough ngl and I'm kinda happy but also kinda not but I still wanted to give you guys some content. Hope you enjoy it.

„Don’t you think we need some help from one of the avengers?“ asked M‘Baku T‘Challa while they were looking over some plans.

„They don’t prioritise issues around Wakanda, sadly.“ T‘Challa said, shrugging.

But right in that moment, T‘Challas kimoyo beads started to vibrate. He picked up and saw the projection of your head.

„Hey T’Challa my brother, I had the feeling you guys need help?“ smiled the girl at him and made the king laugh.

„Indeed, sisi. Someone stole some of Shuri‘s plans for vibranium weapons from us and they’re trying to recreate them and hack Griot. So someone should be near to spy on us, you know?“ he answered your question and made Shuri and M‘Baku nod.

„Okay, that sounds like quite a big issue. I’ll tell Tony about it and then come see you as soon as possible, okay?“ was the answer while you were already assigning jobs and tasks to people.

„And by the way, how’s my favourite princess doing?“, you asked while handing an assistant some files and T‘Challa pulled Shuri into sight. She only laughed and waved at her friend.

„Good to see that she’s okay. Okay, I’ll have a quick talk to Tony and then message you, yeah T’Challa?“ He nodded and hung up, only to tease Shuri about what just happened.

„Sisi, you’re her favourite princess. I’d be tomato-red if I were yo- oh.“

He looked into her face and realised-

She was tomato-red.

„Does little Shuri miss her so much?“ teased M‘Baku and made her blush even more.

She didn’t answer, was too scared that it would be obvious for her brother and his friend.

After some time, you and your assistant arrived and were greeted by the king, the Dora Milaje, the eldest of the Jibari tribe and T'Challa's mother and queen Ramonda. When the heroine left the jet, she greeted the king with the typical wakandan greeting.

You even learned that for your friends, living in America usually has its effect on people.

Your assistant, Marc, did the same and then you two went to have a little talk to T‘Challa where he informed you about the fact that Shuri is in her lab, if you as an Avenger want to check up on Griot.

When you were walking down the hallways, you even received a light smile from the general of the Dora Milaje, Okoye.

„Good to see you, Y/n. Shuri is still down in her lab.“

„Thank you, Okoye, good to see you too. I hope we can have a talk later tonight.“

You smile at the Dora Milaje and go further your way until you reached the lab, connecting your phone to Griot.

„Princess-“ started the AI to announce but you silenced it just to pull the princess by her waist in a warm and loving hug.

Shuri was very surprised about that but swung her arms around you.

„Hey.“

You gave her a smile when you let her go to what she muttered a small ‚hi‘ back and got comfortable in your presence.

„Are you okay, my friend?“ Asked the older one while eyeing everything she was working on right now.

„It just been a little tough, I’m all good.“ She answered and smiled.

„I’m here for a reason. People want to hack Griot?“ you revealed your matter of concern to her.

„Yeah! Let me show you. I don’t know why I’m not able to fix it but it smells like a bug.“ She explained and showed you the codes on her phone.

„That code looks faulty.“ You explained and started writing new components inside it, same as she scanned the other codes for security breaches and fixed them.

„I think Griot should be safe from hackers from now on, but we still we should find out who tries to get to him from outside the palace.“ You offered.

The questioning look on Shuri’s face told you that the princess didn’t know about this.

„Okay, look. Do you see this code here?“

„Yes! And I didn’t write it. Faulty codes don’t exist for me.“

The way the princess furrowed her brows told the avenger that she really has no idea where it came from.

„I know, someone tries to connect to Griot with modified kimoyo beads. Did you gave some to someone else?“ You asked her while going through all the options possible how someone would hack into the AI but Shuri just shook her head.

„Okay, I will have to talk to Okoye if she‘d be kind enough to send some of the Dora Milaje with me.” While you told her this you stuffed your iPhone back into your pocket and smiled at her.

„You look stunning today, princess. As always.“

The black girl just smiled and some blush crept into her face as she went in for a hug. You took her acceptingly into your arms and caressed her back.

After looking at her kimoyo beads she once again spoke up. “Are you staying for dinner? My brother asked if you want to eat with us.” And when she received a nod from you, she laughed and let you go.

On your way to Okoye you met Aneka and also had a short talk with her, mostly about Ayo and her, how she was doing and if she’s seen her general.

You and Aneka were getting along very well since you did a first visit in Wakanda and she definitely was some kind of best friend you had here.

She was amazing. Showed you around the country, introduced you to amazing people and you had a lot of fun with each other. She was also the one to introduce you to Shuri.

When she opened up to you about her relationship with Ayo she was extremely happy to meet your excited face when you hugged her with the words “I’m so proud of you!”

Little did she know that you also took a liking to women but never mentioned it, people should still be interested in you because of the good things you do and not because of the gender you like.

A bit further in time, you found Okoye in the throne room together with Ramonda and king T’Challa himself, explaining your suspicion to them.

“Then I will join you to make sure you’re not alone.” T’Challa agreed and looked at his mother as if he was waiting for approval which he, after all, got.

Together you once again went down into the lab and started to suit yourself. T’Challa was getting his last upgrades for the suit and you were just mentally preparing yourself with some meditation before you actually suited up.

“Are you ready to go?” now asked the king and meant you to which you agreed. “I’m totally ready” You laughed at him and took your weapon from one of Shuri’s desks and attached it to your leg.

T’Challa was waiting for you in the elevator while you said your goodbye to Shuri, who was now looking at you awaitingly.

You forgot the hug.

After a long time of searching around the city they decided to split up and look in the countryside, which wasn’t the best idea after all. Didn’t they both learn from what we see in horror movies?

I mean okay, T’Challa was safe with the Dora Milaje but the fact that you were alone because you insisted on them staying with their king was just hella stupid.

And you agreed to yourself.

“Stupid decision, Y/n, well done dumbass.” You said to yourself while kicking a rock into what it seemed to be bushes. You used your powers since no one was around to judge you except for the bush, that made a little pained noise.

“Eh- what the fuck, am I mental?” The green scrub moved around and two red eyes focused you.

“Oh holy shit!” came a screech from you as you jumped away from hit. “What the fuck are you now?” It was more of an ironical question because the red eyes implied that the creature you accidentally awoke wasn’t really happy about exactly this. Grabbing a stick that lay next to you, you tried to “defend” yourself with this and waved it back and forth in front of its face.

But the bush’s reaction wasn’t what you thought would happen. “And you call yourself an avenger? You don’t even recognise a villain when he’s standing right in front of you!”

The scales fell from your eyes. You and T’Challa were looking for someone who tried to hack Griot and was a little tech-genius but this creature looked nowhere like this.

All you could do was give the thing a questioning look and hold your stick up high but he slapped it away like nothing.

“You’re not scared? Good, because you’re coming with me.” The person or thing chuckled and pulled you into them with arms that were covered in leaves. The laugh echoed through your head when you tried to get free from the bush with arms and feet, throwing punches here and there and wiggling around like a worm but their hold was firm and strong.

You bet your screaming was heard miles away, loud cries for help when your kidnapper muffled them with some duct tape with which he glued your mouth shut and - as fast as he could - tied your hands together so you wouldn’t be able to use your powers.

You could’ve facepalmed yourself when you remembered that you actually had those powers but couldn’t really use them now. Why were you this clumsy that you forgot about this? It was a misery.

T’Challa was wearing his panther suit just as if it was his daily outfit and that’s what made him hear your scream, his super sensitive panther ears.

He shot up from his crouching position where he was investigating some footprints and looked alarmed around, especially to Okoye and Aneka. They heard the scream too and Okoye was the one to confirm that it was you. As soon as the king saw her nod, he started running, followed close behind by his guards and made his way to your position.

But you were gone.

The only hint he got were the leaves on the ground which they started following.

Your opponent definitely wasn’t afraid of your wiggle in their arms when he pulled his hood off, revealing a man with a beard and the same red eyes that shocked you the first time.

Another man joined him and they laughed before covering your eyes, exchanging a few whispered words that sounded like “I hope the king and princess come get their little special guardian.”

Good for you that your ears were still functioning perfectly but you whished that you could’ve warned Shuri and her brother before they’d fall into the trap just like you did.

And T’Challa wanted to help you but he simply couldn’t because there wasn’t anything expect for the trail of leaves that stopped right in front of him.

His hands brushed over his face and he signed.

“How am I going to tell Shuri?”

“Brother, where is Y/n?” The female spoke as he entered the lab without the avenger by his side and immediately feel guilt spring up in the pit of his stomach.

“I lost her, Sisi.” His head hung low and he didn’t look her in the eye because he was totally aware of the feelings the princess cherished for the other female but his instinct told him that she instantly was worried.

“Listen, Sisi, I’m so sorry. We need to find her.” He exclaimed and took a halt next to her to see if she was furrowing her brows, which she did.

But Shuri was a genius in every way, of course she gave you kimoyo beads. It was easy for her to locate them. She flicked switches and swished her hands up and down on the holographic screen until she stopped.

“The beads are in Tokyo, Japan.” She announced while checking a few stats like your health data and if you were conscious or not, which disappointed her, because you were not. She was worried, hell was she worried about you.

Ever since you came back to Wakanda you were all she could think of, every time she was working on something you came to her mind and she wasn’t able to focus anymore. It’s like a curse and she firstly didn’t know why she would feel this fuzzy and comfy inside every time she saw you but soon she realised, what it was.

The feelings got worse but she never took the chance to confess them to you, which might end to her dismay. All along, when she told her brother he wanted to encourage her about giving it a go and telling you about it but she always refused to, thinking you might not reciprocate and break her heart.

Shuri was always very reserved when it came to her feelings. She buried them deep inside her and she was sure that she wasn’t going to let them out soon but to be honest, T’Challa had her thinking about a confession more than usual. And right in this moment, she regretted not telling you.

Who knows if she’ll ever see you again?

But the amazing brother he was and the fact that he basically had to help you out made T’Challa light up and give out commands to the general.

“Sisi, I’ll find her, I promise.” His smile was wide and true when he opened his arms for his sister to hug him, which she gladly did while muttering a small “thank you.”

But little did he know that you were stronger than what he thought of you since he never worked with you, only met you on a couple of meetings. He didn’t see you in action and he also didn’t know that you were kind of a hot-headed person that would break everything in pieces if someone would enrage you.

Yes, that’s what he indeed saw when he arrived in Tokyo, exactly at the location where Shuri last saw your Kimoyo beads. But the fun thing was that the house you seemingly stayed in was simply blown up. There were bits and pieces of concrete, corpses laying around but T’Challa still hadn’t the slightest idea of what happened and felt a bit guilty.

But when you rounded the corner, wiping some dust off your shoulder, he laughed.

“Something in my face?”, you asked amused.

“Now I know why you’re a part of the Avengers.” He gave you the same smile Shuri saw just some time ago and took you into his arms.

“Glad you’re alright.”

“You shouldn’t worry about me, maybe worry about them.” A chuckle left your lips as you pointed to one of the (almost) dead guards and made him laugh even more.

“Let’s get back home, someone’s waiting for you in Wakanda.” He hinted and you basically assumed it to be Tony Stark, your “supervisor” or what he called himself. But he was just the guy that gave you one of his flats in exchange for you being an Avenger (but mostly because Fury requested it).

The flight was pretty calm and you taught the king how to play UNO!, which was one of your favourite games on long road trips in your childhood. He was fairly amused even though the fact that he wasn’t able to win against you and asked for more and more rounds. He was the brother you never had but always wished for.

The moment where he played his last card and won the game, he told you that you both had to talk about something rather important.

“Are you single?” His sheepish smile was a little anxious, as if he feared the answer the same way his sister did. But your nod made him sigh happily.

“What about Nakia, my king? I thought you still had that liking for her?” You asked, relatively unbothered by his personal question. “Nakia? Oh! No! It’s not for me, it’s for-“

‘Don’t pass on more than she needs to know, T’Challa, don’t.’ He thought to himself.

“-A friend. Yeah, a friend. They were wondering if you’re still on the market.”

And another nod made him the almost happiest man on the planet right now. His sister had an actual chance of courting you.

“Tell them I’m not single but not free, expensive girls, you know?” You smiled to show him appreciation and that he wasn’t too bold with the question.

Shuri had an chance.

And what of a chance she had.

The arrival was pretty common and usual for you, since coming back from missions mostly looked like the team greeting you and being happy about the succeed and even Ramonda took a liking to you so she had to hug you and show you how happy she was about your return.

Shuri was late again since she caught herself up into work as long as you weren’t around but when she got the message that you and her brother returned safely from the mission, she sped up and ran to the hangar, just to greet you.

You looked a little exhausted but still amazing and how she missed you, how she missed the feeling of your arms around her. She started to run into your arms just so that you could catch her and laugh.

While you were having your arms around her waist, she breathed your scent in and let it sink into her core. Here arms were dangling around your neck and her body was warm on yours.

‘This your “friend”?’ you mouthed to T’Challa who just shot you a little smile and left the scenery.

Yes, that’s his “friend”. And how proud he was of himself the entire day after he heard that you spent the night with Shuri-

You could’ve read it off of his face. He was so happy for his sister and knew that you’d take care of her.

Yes, you would. No matter what’d happen.

I’m currently living in a motel ya’ll, and since the internet here is the shittiest thing ever and won’t load much but ao3 and my gdocs (tumblr MOBILE is loading better than the actual website on my computer, it’s a fucking travesty) I’ve been doing a lot of reading! So here, have some Stucky recs, because I’ve read a shitton lately.

Bucky used to read all these science fiction novels with morally ambiguous scientists and half-alive monsters. Perhaps that’s what Steve is now; a thing with half of itself missing. Perhaps that’s what the universe is now.

I’mma be real here, my ass hasn’t watched a single episode of Sens8 but this was everything my soul never knew it needed. If somehow you haven’t read it, go forth and do so.

Steve has his life in order, okay. He goes to wizard college, even if he can't technically do magic. He has his own apartment, even though it's small and dinky and kind of gross, and forgets to exist sometimes, and might also be alive? Plus, he has a crush on the hot cyborg in unit 404 who cooks fiendishly good breakfast foods, and may or may not have some kind of weird connection to the sentient building they live in. He's not sure.

He's dealing, all right, his life is in tip-top condition, or it was until an eldritch monstrosity called the Hydra started posing as a real estate company to try and buy over his new home.

He's really pissed about that.

(The one where Steve is an angry millennial wizard, Sam is a Disney prince, Natasha is a shapeshifter, and Bucky is a spoiler.)

Honestly, this fic is ~40k of content that made me pterodactyl screech constantly. It’s beautiful, it’s so fucking creative that I weep with envy, and if you haven’t read it yet then I must respectfully ask, who are you and what are you even doing with your life???

Does every stucky fic rec list I make feature at least one fic by leveragehunters? Yeah, probably tbh, I’m not ashamed. I honestly have no idea why it took me so long to read this (and it’s sequel which is great and I also recommend) but I finally read it last week and honestly? It’s pretty freaking perfect. And tbh it’s just more proof that everything this author writes is gold, because while I LOOOOVE pretty much anything magical realism/urban fantasy/fantasy and magic in general, I’ve never been the biggest fan of animal aus? But I could read this like 12 times, so you should too.

“If you must know, sir,” and somehow he manages to make ‘sir’ come out with the same inflection most people reserve for ‘motherfucking son of a bitch’, “it’s because I have a difficult time doing my job when my job involves monitoring the man with the best fucking ass in the United States of America.” He slowly lowers himself back into his seat until he’s at eye level, making extreme eye contact with Coulson until Coulson turns away to make mortified eye contact in Natasha’s general direction through the one-way glass. Natasha would take another picture, if she weren’t too busy catching Steve’s red-faced sputtering. “Sometimes, I vent to my Twitter followers. Sometimes, it’s about hot men with washboard abs. Can I go now, or do you need a graphic description of how I pleasure myself at night?”

Bucky Barnes is justifiably and righteously furious for like most of this fic and tbh I’m in love with him?

And because I’m an asshole and this is my rec list so I do what I want, I’mma link to Steve Rogers Is (Not) A Good Influence which is my fic where Steve Rogers and Peter Parker go on a road trip and Steve Rogers is a questionable mentor at BEST, as well as It's A Kind Of Magic and it’s kinda sorta prequel The Unfortunate Incident With The Swamp Witch. It’s A Kind Of Magic features vampire!Bucky, witch!Steve, gift giving/courting, a semi-sentient plant, and fluff. The Unfortunate Incident With the Swamp Witch features Steve almost getting eaten by Baba Yaga. That’s it. That’s the whole plot. (I have other fics -11 more of them to be exact!- but these are the ones I’ve written since I’ve been cooped up in a motel room so they take ~precedence.)

The Wanted.

Pairing: Bucky x reader (Friendship).

Word count: 3576

Warnings: Violence, angst, language...

Death, the nickname HYDRA gave her when she was taken at five years old. Her parents sold her and her adopted sister to the closest HYDRA facility when they heard about experiments and how well rewarded it was. Just one year later, the same innocent six years old killed her parents for HYDRA. Her sister, Life, was kept under the facility to heal their soldiers, their army and their biggest weapon, the Winter Soldier.

Life died at 10 years old, the Winter Soldier lost control and pulled the trigger. Death experimented her sister's death in her own body. HYDRA connected the girls and both felt what the other one was feeling. Life died and Death lived. After long experiments, Death was the best creation they had after the Winter Soldier. You couldn't kill Death.

“You know this is for our own good.”

“I don't want to do it, Papa.” A little girl cried.

“Last time, I promise this is the last time you'll have to do it.” Captain Aniol tried to convince the little girl to commit a crime, again.

“Is sister coming?” She whispered.

“If you don't do your job, yes, she'll come.” He threatened clenching his jaw.

“But I don't like her. She hurts me, Papa, please.” She begged him.

“Finish your mission, Death. Finish. NOW.” He shouted at her.

Death cried and trembled walking closely to the man lying on the floor. He whispered please and she cried louder. He reached her hand and pressed gently, “Please”, Death cried and told him inside his head that she was sorry. She held his face with both hands and sucked the life away from him.

At fifteen years old, Death killed another army of super soldiers by mistake and she was put into sleep until the Winter Soldier escaped. On 2016, after the events of Washington, Death escaped from HYDRA and has been missing ever since.

“Why don't we go have fun?”

“No. Leave me alone. Go. Please!” Death begged.

“I can't. You tried to leave me behind once. Remember how it ended?” Sharp voice sending chills across Death's spine.

“I'm not Death! I'm someone else! I don't know my name but I know it's not Death.”

“Well, you're going to stay anyway.”

“We could be free. Free from HYDRA, free from the Winter Soldier, free from pain, free from Murder!!!” Death yells unable to stand, “I don't want to go back to that life. I am not a monster.”

“We both are.”

A few hours later, Tony Stark received an email from ex-Director Nicholas Fury. The king of Wakanda, T’Challa arrived at the secret meeting place, followed by Okoye, Shuri, Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes.

“So, I'm the only one who can help uh?” Tony spat at Nicholas Fury with anger.

“Stark.” Fury tried to calm him.

“I'm done working here.” Tony exited the room.

“Told you.” Rogers sighed.

“It's been a while,” Fury interrupted.

“Some people need more time,” T'Challa told them both.

Bucky gently pressed Steve's shoulder. New information has been filtered. An army of super soldiers has been freed from HYDRA and they haven't seen them over a year. Ex HYDRA agents and captains have been found dead.

“So, looks like someone is killing HYDRA biggest targets?” Rogers asked.

“Whoever is doing this, it's coming for all of us, my people have found an encrypted document with our names marked.” Fury replied.

“So, we are someone's targets?” T'Challa marked Fury's words.

“We need to talk with Tony. They're in danger.” Steve ran out of the room.

“Morning princess,” loud laugh echoed the room.

“I want to go,” Death cried, “Let me go.”

“How about not yet? We're going to have fun tonight.” Silence filled the room.

One week later, Tony Stark and James Rhodes disappeared leaving no sign behind. FRIDAY unavailable to be used and seemed like Tony Stark or James Rhodes never existed.

Peter Parker tried hard to find his mentor and friend, Tony. Peter told Ned and both tried to search them.

“We need to call the Avengers,” Ned mumbled defeat.

“THE AVENGERS ARE OVER!” Peter shouted, “None of them cares for Tony.” He sobbed quietly.

“But you do, you care for him and we will find him.” Ned tried to comfort him.

“Sir, there's someone in the building.” KAREN's voice echoed the room.

Both of them caught down guard, Peter pushed behind his back Ned and Ned softly mumbled a no. A loud bang echoed in another room and then a bright light made them close their eyes.

“You're safe.” King T'Challa explained.

“Where am I? Where's Ned?” Peter asked inpatient.

“My sister Shuri is taking care of him,” T'Challa said.

“Actually, they're playing an American video game,” Okoye added rolling her eyes.

“Why are we here?” Peter asked incontinently.

“Let me call someone,” T'Challa explained, Okoye walked through the door and later steps were heard. Peter's anxiousness grew until the familiar face appeared.

“Kid, you can't hack my system. Not again.” A smiley Tony Stark saluted Peter.

“Mister Stark!!! You're alright!!!” Peter jumped to Tony and hugged him, “I mean I'm glad you're fine,” He moved back, “Sir.” His faces turned red.

“Thank you, Peter.” Tony smiled and greeted him with a hug.

“We couldn’t find you, Mister Stark,” Peter explained worriedly.

“It’s alright, kid,” Tony calmed him down, “We’ve seen all you’ve tried to find us.”

“Is mister Rhodes here too?”

“Yes, we are fine.”

“What happened?” Peter focused his moves on Tony.

“We all need to disappear for a while,” Tony explained, “May is here too.” declared.

“Aunt May is here, too?!!” Peter turned around trying to see her.

“Our families are safe here.” T’Challa interrupted.

“Are we in Wakanda?” Peter asked.

“Earth it’s not a safe place, for now, Peter,” Tony told him.

After explaining the events to Peter, the current team worked on a way to find their new enemy.

HYDRA bases have fallen in the U.S. and later someone attempted hacking Tony’s system. Stark, Rhodes and Fury evacuated to Wakanda where a ship to an unknown place was waiting to go undercover.

Explosions, gunshots, flying cars and scared people ran around NYC, the police evacuated buildings, the FBI fought against professional assassins appeared from nowhere.

Wakanda suffered an attack and the Dora Milaje fought against a small army lead by a ghost or that’s said.

“We need to do something,” Tony declared, “Whoever is doing this won't stop until we show up and fight.”

“We can't fight in a war against someone we don't even know what it looks like!” Steve fought back.

“I don't need an asset, I just need to protect the people who believe in us.” Tony glared at him.

“Mrs Stark is right.” Peter murmured.

“Peter you don't know.” Natasha harsh voice echoed the room.

“You have a problem with me. Not him.” Tony faced the blonde spy.

“Tony, this isn't about you,” Steve spoke.

“Oh, really? Because it looks like I've been watched from all of you since I got in that fucking ship!” Tony spat.

“Then why are you here? Nobody obliged you to join us!” Natasha spat with anger.

“Natasha..” Clint tried to calm her down.

“I called Fury! I wanted nothing to do with you. A long time ago, I discovered I'm not essential in whatever this is,” Tony gestured to the group, “I didn't do it for you. I did it for Peter.” He spat and left the room.

“Mister Stark!” Peter called him out.

“Congrats Natasha.” James Rhodes followed Tony.

Peter looked at everyone and then left.

T'Challa and Fury exchanged a look.

“You know, I kinda like him.” Shuri murmured and left.

Everyone else in the room sighed and left one by one the room.

Fighting an enemy you don't know was pretty mental, even for the Avengers. It was like following a ghost. But that was until Scott and Hope called them. They had someone who knew something.

“So, you know who's behind this?” Steve asked.

“Yeah, right.”

“Tell them, man,” Scott called out.

“Well, so I was at the cinema with my cousin Ignacio, right?” Luis explained, “And we heard these group talking about how Tony Stark is missing and we both go like “woooow Iron Man”, Luis gestured excited, “Then my cousin goes like “So, I know a guy who works for someone who knows Iron Man and is true. He is missing,” and I was noooo the invincible Iron Man and Ignacio goes like “So, these bad people got him because they want to get to the Avengers but Iron Man ain't saying a word” and I knew right? And then Ignacio told me these people is now looking for Stark's son but we knew he didn't have a son so, Ignacio told me to tell Hank to tell Hope to be careful. He's the one with a daughter and then BOOM, I remember my mans Scott has a daughter and I asked Ignacio if he knew where these people were at and he told me to not go because that ain't shit for me and well, he told me to tell Scott to tell the Avengers that they're in Brooklyn's old army facility.” Luis smiled nodding.

“That was quite a story.” Bruce chuckled.

“Yeah right and the movie wasn't that good. It was Green Lantern? Have you seen it?” Luis asked excitedly.

“Luis..” Scott and Hope tried to shut him down.

“These people out there making everything so dark.” Luis laughed.

“Did you told your cousin about us?!” Hope frightened.

“Oh shit.. man, sorry.” Luis looked at Scott.

“You knew?” Hope asked pissed off.

“I needed Ignacio's help, somehow he figured out your dad, you and I work together.” Scott tried to make things easier.

“We will talk later.” Hope said harshly, “So, we need a plan.”

“How are we sure this Ignacio isn't working for them?” Steve asked.

“Dude, you can be Captain America but do not touch my family or I'm kicking your ass.” Luis spat at him.

“Luis…” Scott tried to hold him back, ”You can trust them.” Hope and Scott spoke at the same time.

“Then we need a plan. And soon.” Clint said.

The whole team plus Luis, since the other two decided to stay behind, started working on a plan. Mostly, was identify the enemy, then see if they had hostages and finally, attack.

The plan went to hell when arriving an army of what it seemed winter soldiers attacked them. Even though they had the metal arm, they were easy to kill or stop. Stark couldn't scan the place to see what's inside. Thor tore apart half of the buildings and Luis injured himself after fighting hand to hand with a Winter Soldier 2.0.

Bruce took him back to the compound as a hero and he passed out happily knowing he helped the Avengers.

“New plan,” Hope prepared herself, “Attack.”

Soon, all of them were inside the building. No sign of winter soldiers or anyone. They arrived at the biggest room and all the lights went off.

They got ready to stop whatever was coming.

But nothing came. Stark's system wasn’t working nor Shuris’ back at the compound.

Suddenly, a bright red light came on from behind them.

“So, it's the truth. HYDRA send their army to stop me.” An echoed voice came from everywhere.

“First off, not even in HYDRA’s wildest dream I'll be working for them,” Tony spat offended, ”Secondly, why don't you show your face, coward?”

“Aah. Coward? Oh no, you may have confused me with my sister.” The voice spoke playfully.

“Who are you?” Steve asked.

“Good question. Who I am?” The voice got closer, “See Captain, you may ask your best friend. Nice to see you again, Sergeant Barnes.”

“Who are you?” Bucky spat bravely.

“Of course you don't know who we are,” The voice laughed, “I told my sister you did forget about us. About your silly promise.”

“What are you talking about?” Buck spat.

“You, Mr Barnes, promised my little sister you would help us out from HYDRA. You promised we would never have to go through their experiments. You promised too many things and we did trust you. Well, that was long ago, I've changed but my sister... Oh, my dear sister still thinks you'll help her from HYDRA.”

“Then that's it? Revenge against Barnes?” Tony asked annoyed.

“Oh no. It's not just about Barnes. It is all about you. All of you going to see what you did to us.” The voiced spat harshly, “And of course, die in the end.”

The light went off. The atmosphere went from chilly to cold. Explosions sounded outside. Stark's system advised them about the compound being attacked. Shuri's system advised about Wakanda being attacked. And so, felt Thor about the world. Vision reached Wanda's hand to unify their power.

“Every country in the world is being attacked.” Vision spoke.

The lights went on a flashes came from everywhere then, a gunshot.

“One less.” The voice said.

More flashes. Bright lights in a different colour. The Avengers finally were aware they couldn't move from their spot. None of them. More flashes. Another gunshot.

“Two.” The voice sang.

“Stop this! Whoever you are, show your face. Fight if you dare!” Thor spat angrily.

More flashes, explosions and gunshots. The voice kept singing numbers.

“Hello, brother.” Loki’s voice echoed.

“Lo...Loki?!” Thor asked confused. The Avengers turned their heads to Thor.

“I thought he was dead!” Barton exclaimed surprised.

“Miss me, brother.” Loki appeared and smiled devilish.

“Stop this, brother! You’ve changed!” Thor begged to his brother.

More explosions and gunshots echoed the whole room, Loki’s figure stood there smiling playfully, the Avengers tried to move to look angrily at Loki’s figure and then, a big sharp knife appeared on Loki’s hand and his form started losing colour and light, a big purple hand around his neck cut his throat and Loki’s form disappeared slowly showing his true form, Jotunheim. Thor shouted at the top of his lungs and Loki turned into a little half blue boy.

“It’s okay, Brother, I won’t tell Mother.” Little Loki tried to smile before disappearing.

“Loki, Loki, Loki!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Thor shouted desperate crying at the spot where his brother was trying to move.

The Avengers looked at him and felt Thor’s pain. Something burning inside of them, like if they were connected to Thor’s heart. The lights went off and then on, the Guardians of the Galaxy were there too. Nebula crying uncontrollably. Not knowing why, all of them crying, burning steam around them, the gunshots stopped.

“Peter, no.” Yondu’s voice echoed the room.

“I need to save him.” Tony’s voice echoed behind.

Looking at each other, trying to discover where it came from.

“And that makes 20.” The voice giggled.

Flashes making them feel dizzy, voices coming from everywhere, their voices at some point. Even the ones never told to anyone else but themselves.

“I didn’t save him, Peggy.” Steve’s broken voice echoed.

“Know your place, Brother.” Thor.

“You were build to improve the world, Sergeant Barnes.” Zola’s voice.

“My list is on red.” Natasha's.

“You abandoned him!” T'Challa's.

“No, not without you!” Bucks.

“I couldn't save him, Laura.” Clint's.

“I'm going to kill him, Pietro, Stark is mine.” Wanda's.

“I don't know, I was born yesterday.” Visions.

“We don't need you!” Hope's.

Devil laugh echoed the whole room while the Avengers emotions were tearing apart. Feeling like their bodies, minds, hearts and soul were being ripped off them. Like a broken glass.

Nebula couldn't resist all the emotions and passed out. Groot tried to reach but his own pain stopped him.

And when the feeling started to stop FRIDAY's voice echoed the place. And Shuri's.

“Sir, Sir, everyone's heart is stopping.” FRIDAY.

“T'CHALLA, T'CHALLA!” Shuri cried for her brother.

The Avengers felt everything and nothing at the same time. The life going away their bodies.

“You can't kill Death.” A voice spoke.

Bucky's body moved slowly trying to sit. His brain burning inside his head but he could remember that voice. He had heard that voice before. He knew it from somewhere.

“Live,” Bucky whispered.

The room lighted up, all the Avengers and Guardians lying on the cold floor.

“Please, don't hurt my sister. Please, please.” A little girl cried, “Run Death, run!”

“Live, it's you. Live.” Bucky spoke.

“Stop it, Winter. Please, Winter, it hurts. Stop.” A different voice cried this time.

Bucky stood balancing himself and tried to walk.

“I'm going to save you both.” Bucky's voice echoed from far away.

“The Winter Soldier killed your sister and escaped. They're both dead,” Captain Aniol voice echoed. Bucky felt a knife inside his stomach and it was. A hand appeared and all of them saw a figure appearing slowly. Black steam around the form, Bucky's expression frightened when he saw the woman looking hatefully at him.

One woman dressed in old dirty dress stood there with her hand on Buck's stomach. Most of the dress was covered in blood. Hands shapes all over it. The Avengers and Guardians stood slowly. Bucky's expression felt to a guilty one.

“I told you one day I'm going to be the one who takes your life away. I saved it. I'm taking it.” The woman’s voice snarled.

“I'm sorry, Live. I couldn't save you. I couldn't save your sister.” Bucky whispered.

“Lies. It's all lies. You took everything I had, I'm taking everything you and the ones you care have.” Live smirked.

Suddenly a bright light came on and a dark steam form grabbed Live by her arm and pulled her away from Bucky. Live turned to fight the steam and screamed angrily at it, the steam and Live collapsed in front all of them. Live screamed loud, every time louder and louder. Knives fell on the floor, blood. Live’s body smashed the wall and she tried to stand. From her hands bright white steam flew straight to the steam, it flashed and disappeared. The black steam moved quickly grabbing Live by her neck and pulled all the way up to the ceiling. Live’s body transformed into white steam and it fighter back. A loud bang echoed the whole room. A different voice screamed in agony and finally both white and black steam disappeared.

The Avengers and Guardians started feeling better. Their minds were calm. They were themselves again. They could move. Both Shuri and FRIDAY contacted with them telling them everything stopped and started slowly to disappeared and people were coming back from death. Seemed like the woman, Live never existed and nothing happened.

“You take lives, you can't bring them back. You're a monster. You're an abomination. You're a disgrace. As long as you're alive there will never be peace or Live on Earth.” Bucky recognized Captain's Aniol voice speaking to a little scared girl crying desperately when he asked her to kill his first big enemy.

“You're right. I can't bring them back but I can't take those souls who ain't their time yet.” A different voice, different to Lives echoed the room. Bucky recognized as Death's before she died. He killed her, “And Papa, it's your time.” Death's whisper made them feel weak and a chill run over their spines.

Outside the weather changed to a shining sun, even a rainbow appeared. The wind runs all over the place.

All sudden, a figure appeared balancing in front of them all, a woman wearing a white jumper, black trousers and boots. Her hands were shaking as her whole body. She had blood all over her hands, face, jumper, neck. Blood everywhere. Her face had black eyeballs and a big scar on her left cheek. Fingers. The scar of some burning fingers on her cheek.

Bucky felt something inside. He knew who she was. The woman was Death but how could she? He killed her. Aniol told him. Told everyone and Live tried to kill him after that. He hated himself for killing the 10 years old after telling her they'll get out that place. Even when Shuri deleted those words and the awful memories from his Winter Soldier years, he still could remember those eyes. The little smile that appeared on her face when late at night he would escape from his room when he was awake and went to see them both. Inside his mind, he cared for the twins. Even when he was the Winter Soldier he could remember Death, never Live. She had something. Something different. Like live wasn't really inside her. Like she was dead from the beginning.

“I told you I'll be the one to save you, James Barnes.” Death spoke spitting blood.

“Death.” Bucky ran quickly to her and tried to hold her but it was late. Her eyes closed.

And he remembered when he saw her transform the first time. How her eyeballs changed to whole black and then red when she touched blood. How her hands would take your life and soul away from you. How she assured him inside his mind, he'll be out soon and free. How she calmed every victim before taking their lives. Death was never a killing machine while Live always killed everyone. That's how he discovered them. How Live killed him and Death saved him and how they tricked Captain Aniol. The three of them suffered, Death sadly more than the two of them. She was never evil, she just wanted a Life.

“It’s not your fault, Buck..” Steve tried to cheer him up.

“She’s not going to be the same when she’s awake,” Buck whispered watching Shuri, Tony and Bruce work on helping cure Death. From outside the room Sam, Steve and Bucky watched every process going and how her power, her dark steam let go the white from her twin sister, Live died in the battle and Death fell onto coma. And now, they were trying to help her in the same way the helped Buck to forget HYDRA.

INFINITY WAR Spoiler talk

Random spoilery thoughts and rating of the movie

Things I liked:

- Thanos. This is his movie. A sad, lonely, yet terrifyingly driven villain. His relationship with Gamora helped humanize him, but he’s still a genocidal monster through-and-through… One of the best MCU villains (though I feel Killmonger is more relatable since his motivation is grounded in our reality, and Loki since we’ve spent so much time with him and witness his struggles) - Loki saying “we have a Hulk” - The various team-ups throughout the movie in general. - Tony butting heads with Dr. Strange, and his continued mentoring of Peter Parker. - Dr. Strange demonstrating more of his mystic arts powers, and going toe-to-toe with Thanos and holding his own quite well. - Ebony Maw is the only member of the Black Order worth remembering…. creepy and intimidating. - Thor managing to remain humble and mostly-level headed despite losing everything he was protecting and fighting for in Thor: Ragnarok. His bonding with Rocket of all people was endearing. - Kevin Bacon in the Avengers - Rocket matured a bit since GOTG vol. 2. He’s still Rocket as we know him, but more willing to step up and “be the captian” now than before. - The Invisible Drax. Stupid… but i liked it. - Gamora’s flashback to her homeworld and meeting Thanos, and her scenes with Thanos on his ship. We finally get to see her confront her father directly, and the dysfunction lends weight to both their plot threads. - Thanos to Quill: “I like you” - Seeing Vision and Scarlet Witch’s relationship play out on the big screen. - Hulk not coming out to play due to the beating he received by Thanos. He’s still got a child-like mind, and it’s totally believeable that he’s pout and whine and not want to come out. Banner still gets some heroism in nonetheless in the Hulkbuster. - Seeing Wakanda again with the Avengers there alongside Black Panther and Okoye. - All the cameos… always good to see Pepper Potts. Peter’s friend Ned. “Thunderbolt” Ross has an obligatory scene. The Collector appears. M'Baku returns to help T'Challa and the Avengers. Shuri gets to banter with Banner. - the Red Skull’s return… even though he has only a brief scene, it confirmed he was only teleported away and not killed by the Tessaract. - The entire battle with Thanos on Titan. It’s just cool to see heroes all battling a single enemy as opposed to another faceless army. - Nebula confronting Thanos on Titan, and her inclusion at all in the film. I hope she plays a bigger role in the next part. - Thor’s adventure with Rocket and Groot to get a new hammer. He is still obsessed with hammers…. - Giant Peter Dinklage… - “Thor, you’re about to take the full force of a star… it will kill you.” “ONLY IF I DIE!” …“Yes, that’s what killing you means…” - “WHY IS GAMORA?!” - Thanos getting more and more somber and depressed as the movie went along, especially after sacrificing Gamora, the only person he cared about. - "Tell them about the dance-off to save the galaxy." Footloose. - Quill’s angry reaction to Thanos killing Gamora and screwing the heroes… it’s perfectly in character. He’s always been an immature man-child, even with the development he received in the previous films. Part of his curse of being raised by the Ravagers. Likewise, who would NOT have an emotional outburst like that? Stark had one in Civil War. - War Machine back in action. Blowing shit up. - Winter Soldier/White Wolf alongside Rocket Raccoon……. - Thanos throwing chunks of a moon at the heroes. Tony: “If you throw another moon at me…” - Thanos’ admiration of Stark. “I hope they remember you” - Later he tries to comfort Scarlet Witch after she kills Vision. If he wasn’t a maniac hellbent on universal genocide with a history of child abuse, he might be an ok guy… - Thor’s heroic return with Stormbringer. Seeing him back to full power was great, though… it takes away a bit from his development in Ragnarok… He’s not a god of hammers… why does he need one so much? - Thor keeps calling Rocket “rabbit” and Groot “tree”. Didnt bother to learn names - “This is my friend, Tree”, “I am Groot”, “I am Steve Rogers” - Okoye + Black Widow + Scarlet Witch vs. Proxima Midnight - Vision sacrificing himself, and Wanda having to witness him die twice. - “You should have gone for the head!” - The ending… the fingersnap. The dissolve into ashes… The character’s reactions to these deaths is what makes it all work, even if we the audience know it probably won’t be permanent. - “Mr. Stark, I don’t feel so good…” and “I don’t wanna go I don’t wanna go… I’m sorry”…… - Knowing what Tony must have felt when Peter disappeared… probably adds a whole new level to his current PTSD… - Dr. Strange clearly playing the long game, even at the sacrifice of himself and half the universe. “Tony, it was the only way”… Witnessing their deaths 14 million times must have been rough. - Cap gets the last words in the movie: “Oh god….” - The simple end credits, playing almost like an “in mermoriam” - The fact that we have no idea where the heck Avengers 4 is going plotwise…. will those who became dust in the wind return? Seems likely since Homecoming 2 and GOTG vol. 3 are filming soon… and like they’d kill off Black Panther after he made ALL THE MONEY before this movie made all the money again. - “Motherfu-”

Things I didn’t like:

- Heimdall again gets kinda shafted… after getting such a prominent role in Ragnarok. At least he got a last heroic gesture by sending Hulk home. - Loki dying so early to be motivation for Thor. Unless he has more up his sleeve in a long play, having him try to stab Thanos in the face felt like sloppy storytelling. What if he succeeded? The Black Order is RIGHT THERE. They would’ve killed both him and Thor anyways. Loki probably knew death was imminent and wanted one last act of defiance and proof of loyalty to Thor and Asgard. I don’t mind him dying early on, but I feel the writers should have been smarter about his actions. - The GotG felt a bit flanderized. I get it though since they need to share screentime here. Quill remains immature and childish and it leads to disaster. Drax merely spouts comedic lines and is generally useless. Mantis is not much of a fighter but at least managed to subdue Thanos a bit. Groot barely registered at all until he makes the handle for Stormbreaker. Groot meeting Captain America was amusing though. - No one during the Wakanda fight calls attention to the talking raccoon… - Cap, Falcon, and Black Widow also didn’t get a whole lot to do. Their fights seemed to devolve into shakey-cam BS. - Vision was nerfed for sake of the plot. Guess he’d otherwise be too OP. - What was the point of Red Skull being there at all… if you replace him with someone else, would it have affected the plot in any way? Why was he floating like a spectre of Death? - Rocket just gives Thor a new eye…. guess they got tired of CGI-ing that eyepatch on Thor. - The fake-out of Gamora killing Thanos in Knowhere… of course they’re not killing the villain in the first third of the movie. - Gamora’s death… when she asked Peter to kill her, I knew she’s probably going to die. Of course not by Peter… the scene of her, Peter, and Thanos was a good one though. - Something about the scene on Vormir felt… heavy-handed. Maybe the music? The silly fade to Thanos’ crying face when Gamora is falling to her doom? Something just took me out of the moment… maybe the awareness that i was looking at a purple, ballsack-chinned, CGI space man crying CGI tears. - The Black Order… generic looking scary alien people… They didn’t amount to a whole lot. Just excuses for more fight scenes. They all die inglorious deaths. - The final battle in Wakanda was another giant brawl with faceless alien monster people… there’s nothing creative about it. - There is no build-up to that battle either… it just happens. Take a page out of Peter Jackson’s The Two Towers… the build-up is just as, if not more important than the battle itself. - Hawkeye and Ant-Man being convieniently written out of the movie… - Where is Valkyrie? and Korg? Not even enough time to give them a mention? Valkyrie might’ve been helpful in the ensuing fight… - Thanos didn’t seem to use the Gauntlet to its full potential despite demonstrating some wild powers. He mostly just shoots purple beams at people… - Thanos is “burdened with knowledge” and thus knows who Stark is…. ok…. what. - The pacing of the movie felt too relentless. Let the movie breathe a bit dammit. - The CGI in some scenes screamed of “reshoots”… Banner in the Hulkbuster comes to mind. Iron Man and Spidey’s Iron suits looked very cartoonish. The Black Order’s CGI looked very off in a few scenes. Could they not have achieved Proxima, Corvius, and Maw using prosthetics? Thanos looked very convincing though, even if his look was a tad simplistic. - The music… you hear the Avengers theme occassionally… but there’s no memorable new music. We don’t hear any of the respective themes of the various characters. No Guardians theme, no Dr. Strange theme, no Iron Man or Captain America or Spider-Man or Thor themes…. Music should factor into this “culmination movie” as much as the characters. Least we got the Black Panther theme when we see Wakanda again. If somehow the different themes get interwoven into a new melody…. plz Avengers 4? -Knowing that this was a part 1 of a 2-part finale sort of robbed the movie of a sense that the deaths will be permenant… but I would like to be surprised in Avengers 4. The question is seemingly “how” they will defeat Thanos and revive their allies, and not “if” they do…

Overall, there is a lot of good in this movie. It’s not as… “fun” as the previous Avengers movies or even Civil War. They tried to be a lot darker, and for the most part they succeeded. The issues I have are mostly nitpicks to the plot, and minor issues with the craft involved.

After two viewings, I don’t feel the need to really watch it again… until Avengers 4 next year.

Royal, pt. 6 (T’Challa)

Summary: Freya and T’Challa get a moment alone.

Warnings: none

Word count: 1540

Watching them walk away was one thing, throwing people off their trail was another. My wounds weren't really cooperating with me either. I walk like my limbs don’t really belong to me and each step feels more like a negotiation rather than an order. Everything hurts now. Every damn thing. I took some pleasure in knowing they were okay, but I was in dire need of some rest. As the adrenaline stopped, allowing me to come down from the rush, the pain seemed to be amplified. It was intense enough to make me take in shaky, shallow breaths as anything more than that resulted in misery. I was far too prideful to admit I needed help, so I went back to that conference room and sat on a chair, trying to find some inner peace and do some healing. Water manipulation came in handy for numerous things if you knew how to wield it correctly, healing was one of those things. It was slow, but I needed to do it.

People aren't really aware how powerful it is, water. It seems like a weak element to some, but I consider it to be stronger than fire. For starters, water is everywhere, in each and every single thing in this world, even out of this world. Using it against people was easy, especially if you take in mind that people are about 75% pure water.

In order to heal, I didn't need an extra source of water..I had it on the inside already. Healing with water was a more delicate, refined process of repairing and regenerating damaged cells on a molecular level.

„Your friends won't get far.“ A strong accent in the voice made me stiffen.

„I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about.“ I say nonchalantly.

„I think you do.“ T'Challa responds, taking a seat next to me.

„You are mistaken.“ I reply and a silence settles in.

„You don't look good.“ He breaks the silence and I turn to him.

„Ouch. You didn't have to hurt me that way!“ I say sarcastically, placing a hand over my chest like I was deeply offended.

„Oh, I didn't mean it like that. You look beautiful. I meant, you look hurt.“ T'Challa blurts out, his steely face mask disappearing, letting that young man I've met only a few days ago make a reappearance. It was nice to see him nervous.

„So..You think I'm beautiful?“ I question, my eyebrow raised, a smirk playing on my lips.

„I think you're stunning, but that doesn't matter.“ T'Challa's mask was back, his eyes turned a little darker and any evidence of a smile was erased.

„Why'd you save me?“ I pulled my own cold mask on and decided to play his game.

„Although wrong, your actions were honorable.“ He says, boring his eyes into mine.

„Right. No ulterior motives?“ I purse my lips and lean back into the chair, crossing my arms over my chest.

„How about you answer some questions?“ He turned the game back on me and I was a willing player.

„Shoot.“

„You're enhanced, correct?“ He asks, his eyes focused on every move I make.

„Not exactly. I'm not like those Maximoff twins. I was born this way.“ I reply.

„From what I gathered, you can manipulate water?“

„You're correct!“ I say, not amused by the way this conversation was going.

„Tell me about it.“ It felt like he ordered me and I didn't like that one bit.

„Look buddy, you may be the king of Wakanda, but“ I was cut off by Tony, Natasha and Ross entering. I looked at T'Challa who was already getting up and leaving the room.

„I don't suppose you have any idea where they are?“ Ross looks to me, expecting me to blow the whistle. Has he not read my file? I'm not a mall cop!

„Nope!“

„We will. GSG-9's got the borders covered. Recon's flying 24/7. They'll get a hit. We'll handle it.“ Tony pipes in with an attempt to reassure the secretary.

„You don't get it, Stark. It's not yours to handle. It's clear you can't be objective. I'm putting Special Ops on this.“ Ross interjects and I jump up from my chair.

„NO! They shoot first and ask questions later! Are you willing to kill Captain America?“ Every time he opened his mouth I got angrier. He felt empowered to micromanage every little aspect of our lives, every damn thing done his damn way, just because we signed the Accords.

„What happens when the shooting starts? What, do you kill Steve Rogers?“ Natasha backed me up and I sent an appreciative nod her way.

„If we're provoked. Barnes would've been eliminated in Romania if it wasn't for Rogers. There are dead people who would be alive now. Feel free to check my math.“ My face was red with suppressed rage, knuckles became white from clenching my fists too hard, and I gritted my teeth in an effort to remain silent, hunching slightly so it exuded an animosity that was like acid - burning, slicing, potent. Thing is, no matter how big the fire is on the inside, it only comes out as ice. The room temperature dropped significantly and I knew I'd snap if he didn't stop talking soon.

„All due respect, you're not going to solve this with boys in bullets, Ross. You gotta let us bring them in.“ Tony tried reasoning. It was a better option, but I still wasn't convinced.

„How would that end any differently from the last time?“ Ross asked all high and mighty and the glass table froze into solid ice. His eyes switched to me and that act of the man in charge seemed to crumble, piece by piece.

„Because this time, I won't be wearing loafers and a silk shirt. 72 hours, guaranteed.“ Tony offers with a hopeful look on his face.

„36 hours. Barnes. Rogers. Wilson.“ Ross shivered and ran out of the room.

„Thank you, sir.“ Tony rubs his hand on his chest and slumps, exhaling. „My left arm is numb, is that normal?“ He questions and I roll my eyes at him.

„Ice princess, stop it. I'm saving your man's ass here. I am the reason why he might get out of this alive. Are you in or are you out?“ Every word Tony said stung, only fueling the fire that burned inside of me.

„I'm in.“ I reply through gritted teeth, forgetting to correct him on the term 'your man'.

„You might want to stop freezing the room. You know, before we all die of frostbite.“ He remarks.

„I kinda hoped it would freeze your overinflated ego, so I could chip it off, but hey, I had to try!“ I stick my tongue out and purse my lips.

„You alright?“ Nat pats him on the shoulder.

„Always. 36 hours, jeez.“ He exclaims.

„We're seriously understaffed.“ She says with a small sigh.

„Oh, yeah. It'd be great if we had a Hulk right about now. Any shot?“ Tony remarks.

„No. You really think he'd be on our side?“ She questions and I huff.

„No.“ Tony and I answer simultaneously.

„I have an idea.“ Nat says and I look at her, cocking an eyebrow.

„Me too. Where's yours?“ Tony says, almost excited.

„Downstairs. Where's yours?“ She asks and Tony smiles slightly.

„I'm not liking that smile on your face Stark! I'm gonna go with Nat on this one.“ I wink at her and head for the door.

„Meet me by the elevator in 15.“ I tell her and leave.

I had one thing I needed to get done. I might have lied when I said I had no idea where the guys were. We made a rendezvous point, just in case of separation. I was watched like a hawk at this point, but I knew someone who wasn't. I hated the idea of letting her do this, but I had no choice.

„Sharon. A word please.“ I say politely and she scurries over.

„Need something, Agent Frost?“ She questions.

„I need you to be honest with me. Did you give Steve the info on Barnes' location?“ I question and she looks around alarmed, to make sure no one was listening in.

„Yes.“ Sharon replies and I nod.

„Willing to help him out again?“ I inquire and she nods in confirmation. God, I hated this!

„Take the shield, the wings and this car.“ I pull out a key and give it to her.

„This is the address. Give them my best and warn them of the 36 hour window please?“ I ask, but we both knew this was more of an order.

„I will.“ She says, excitement in her voice. Ugh, I wanted to bash her head into a wall repeatedly, but I needed to keep my cool. Steve wasn't mine, she had every right to go for it now.

„Oh, Sharon! Make sure you're not followed.“ I tell her as she nods again before walking away.

I hurry to the elevator and find Nat already tapping her foot.

„I know. I'm two minutes late!“ I say as she points to her watch.

„Losing your touch, are we agent?“ She teases.

„Ugh. What's your plan, anyways?“ I ask and she smirks.

„You'll see.“

This was pretty fun to read! I can picture how this happened, as soon as Tony and Steve left T'Challa started to talk to Fig and boom… sometime later we can follow this story XD

Of course T'Challa don’t care about the bill (?) he’s the king of Wakanda so, no worries, he can pay whatever they broke… But Poor Steve who will help him to clean and calm Fig down? Since Figaro found Tony as his new pray XD and speaking of poor Tony I can imagine how many scratches he ended up with x.x

Potato Patato

Who knows, WHO knows WHY Steve loves Klepto Kats (I kinda abandoned my cats there and Neko Atsume .-.;; ) but that’s still AMAZING, I know that has to be canon in some universe hahaha! Still poor Tony, he made dinner on his own, dressed formal and all and at the end Steve only wanted to plaaaaaay!! Rude, rude, rudeee!!

Too good that Tony knew how to spend those 2399 seconds, of course, dinner got cold (booo!! cold dinner no!)

I also read the kind of prequel Tickle Ninja XDD so I could read this one easily as a revenge from Steve on Tony for changing him for a game haha

You have no idea how much I needed this fic!! Because you made me feel really better with it… These days had been crazy and all, I connected with Steve so much. I only have to say thank you for writing such beautiful fics like this one because you make us feel better reading them!

And I love that Steve wanted to tickle Tony on a different spot, it was very interesting and adorable XD even if Tony needed a shower, I love how Steve loves Tony that much Oh! Also! I loved the comparative Tony did between him tinker and craft stuff with Steve drawing with coals! Because God I totally love that feeling too! I’d never change the feeling of coals, paper, pencil, pen and paint for pen tablets and iPads… it’s an amazing feeling to use art materials and I know that Tony loves to feel metal and other materials while crafting

It's pretty fucked up for T'challa to have arranged for Tony and Wanda to run into each other "for their own good" after lecturing Tony about not giving people the space to make their own choices, right or wrong. Not to mention the fact that Steve didn't ask him to keep Wanda's surveillance of Tony a secret - T'Challa could have negotiated that with Tony, giving him the chance to say yes or no, instead of lying to get access to Tony's tech. If I were Tony, I'd be pretty angry about that. 1/2

Was Wanda just watching or reading their minds? Was Bucky ok with this? Does he know that Wanda got her powers by volunteering to be HYDRA? 2/2

T’Challa didn’t arrange it. Wanda was there to help monitor Bucky who is aware of it (’she’s good people’) because she promised Steve she would help Bucky, with Bucky’s consent, a couple of chapters back before Steve left Wakanda. She happened to feel Tony in the building and came up to him while T’Challa was getting things ready with Bucky to yell at him for using Bucky. (I realize that I kinda wrote T’Challa having dull surprise there which may have led to this assumption, blame rushed writing, but he did not create a situation where Wanda could find Tony. Wanda was already at the facility with Bucky.)

As for Wanda observing Bucky and by proximity, Tony (and she was not deliberately reading their minds, no), yeah, T’Challa not mentioning it is a little shady and underhanded but it’s not always easy to practice what you preach. And there are two sides to this:

1. T’Challa is trying to manipulate all the players involved for what he thinks is the best possible ending, and sometimes he might not even be aware he’s doing it. That happens to even regular people, not to mention rulers who are influential in keeping a now international super-powered group afloat.

2. Tony usually knows when it’s happening and lets it, for now. He’s there because of Bucky’s decision, and he’s there by T’Challa’s grace. This is not his turf. He’s gonna play the game, such as he sees it.

Bucky does not know. It will probably come into play either.

[15:38:11] <Wackd> Also, apparently Tony Stark designed this submarine. Which is weird, right? With the exception of that one thing they got from T'Challa, I kinda figured the implication was that Reed built all their weird vehicles. [15:38:36] <Wackd> I can't imagine Tony sitting down and going "hm, you know, robot suits are cool, but I could *really* do with a submarine." [15:38:44] <Duraz> are they trying to keep people in their specialties? [15:38:53] <Duraz> I mean, they're usually bad at that [15:39:01] <Inbarfink> Does Reed have a specialty? [15:39:16] <Inbarfink> I thought he was a scientist, that studies science [15:39:27] <Duraz> my take would have been, like, particle physics [15:39:34] <Wackd> Transport kinda IS Reed's specialty! Like, he investigates deep space and microverses and negative zones, and then build things that take his team there. [15:40:13] <Wackd> Insofar as he's been confined to a field--and I'm not saying he's never dipped into other fields, especially when un-Thinging Ben is concerned--exploration has been it. [15:40:26] <Duraz> true enough [15:40:38] <maxwellelvis> I think, iirc, the last few times they went underwater, transport was provided for them, and I guess Reed never thought to build a submarine. [15:41:33] <Wackd> Man, I know we've already got Namor and all that stuff, but I would dig an arc where the Four had a deep-sea exploration and found, like, really bizarre shit down there. [15:42:04] <Wackd> I think people underestimate how much of the ocean floor we've actually covered, and just because Atlantis exists in Marvel doesn't mean that Atlantis is on the same level as giant squids or whatever. [15:42:35] <Duraz> reminds me of a time when I was playing Ultimate Alliance with a friend who doesn't read comics [15:42:49] <Duraz> "Looks like we're going to Atlantis," I said. "Okay. But this take on Johnny as a lady magnet feels new to me. If nothing else, it's leaning into him as the "youth culture" member of the team more than we've done in a damn long while.

[15:53:34] <Wackd> SO! Turns out the monster has some sort of chemical that can change him into a human being (or vice versa?) He's currently "undercover" as a dolphin trainer at an aquarium. [15:54:38] <Wackd> I like that Reed immediately cracking the plot is depicted here not as him being incredibly smart, but as him being a workaholic who's reaction to a fun trip to the aquarium is "what if the dolphin trainer is a villain?"

[15:55:11] <Wackd> (Also, uh, can you sit on dolphins like that without hurting them? That seems wrong.) [15:55:47] <Duraz> I guess they ought to be able to take a lot of pressure [15:56:35] <Wackd> PROBABLY not this much pressure, though, right?

[15:57:09] <Wackd> I feel like you PROBABLY can't toss a pilot whale INTO A WALL without something going horribly wrong somewhere. [15:58:47] <Wackd> The whale lives! (But Ben won't enjoy it.)

[15:59:57] <Wackd> So! It turns out our baddie can't speak in human form. (Possibly also in monster form?) I didn't notice, because villains having an ongoing internal monologue is par for the course at this point, but huh, yeah. This guy hasn't said a word so far. [16:01:16] <Wackd> (In an earlier panel, Ben jokes about him being "a real chatterbox." Because the baddie hadn't had a chance to say anything yet, I assumed Ben was making a joke about Reed not being able to shut up, but nah, he's making jokes about a guy he just met not talking, cool) [16:02:07] <Wackd> Indeed, as our baddie volunteers to lead Reed, Ben, and Johnny on a deep-sea expedition, it is CONSISTENTLY pointed out that he can't talk, with Reed finding it odd. [16:02:16] <Wackd> Does...does Stan not know mute people exist? [16:02:49] <Wackd> Like sure, it's not like this guy is using sign language or writing things down--he doesn't even seem to use body language, which makes me wonder how it was determined he wanted to tag along. [16:03:48] <Wackd> Anyway. Ben determines the baddie has led them into a bog, and that it'd be difficult for them to maneuver out, like he's trying to get us stuck down here with no way out!" [16:04:19] <Wackd> So this story is basically about our heroes assuming some rando is a villain because he doesn't speak and is too good at doing dolphin shows for tourists, and being validated in that belief. Cool. [16:05:59] <Wackd> The baddie busts up their submarine, and only Ben can hold his breath long enough to save Reed and Johnny. All the while thinking about how his life is worthless compared to theirs. [16:06:12] <Wackd> Ben: capable of hating himself while saving people from drowning. [16:07:56] <Duraz> hmm, whales were able to ram wooden ships, but still... [16:08:21] <Wackd> So, Ben fights the monster, then Johnny and Reed wake up, and then all three fight the monster. Fight fight fight. The monster makes a retreat. [16:08:33] <Wackd> Monster design, by the way? Real boring. Basically just a Creature from the Black Lagoon ripoff. [16:09:05] <Inbarfink> So when will Johnny start banging the monster? [16:09:13] <Wackd> pffffffffffft [16:09:49] <Wackd> So Ben's solution to having lost track of the monster is to just. Punch the walls of the cave they're in so all the walls collapse and the monster will have nowhere to hide. [16:10:02] <Wackd> Which I'm sure is a thing you can do while maintaining structural integrity. TALK TO ME ABOUT TONY/NAT & PUBLIC/PRIVATE PERCEPTIONS OMG

Oh, you know I’m not good at this.

(please note I know barely anything about 616 Tony/Nat except they’ve known each other for a hella long time and they together were Hawkeye’s introduction into comics...I think)

But Tony and Nat (and TonyandNat) as characters, and to others, survive in the gulf between how people see them vs how they actually are. They live in a world shaded in gray. And Tony and Nat, in the MCU, to me both constantly see through each other and are constantly fooled by each other.

-Steve's not going to stop. If you don't either, then Rhodey is going to be the best case scenario. (N)-You let them go, Nat. (T)-We played this wrong. -We? Boy. It must be hard to shake the whole double agent thing, huh? Sticks in the DNA. -Are you incapable of letting go of your ego for 1 god damn second? -T'Challa told Ross what you did, so, they're coming for you. -I'm not the one who needs to watch their back.

You and I have talked about this scene. They both get shook, is the thing. Tony calls Natasha out on trying to play this still as a team thing when she turned her back on him, and I used to find the ego line inexplicable until I realize that Tony basically shot her through the heart with the ‘agent’ jab, so she...fell back on the ego dig. (Like, ScarJo’s acting is really important here, because she borderline flinches when that line comes up.)

Because they’re kinda the same. From that comic - “I like you a great deal, Natasha but...you don’t know who you are.” Does Tony? There’s a core truth that keeps both of them upright, but their outsides can change as quick as a flash depending on who they’re talking to and the situation. Tony and Natasha play the game, but in my opinion, Tony and Natasha also can’t stop. They’ve gotten so used to doing it survive, or just to be better than everyone else, that they can only stop around a few people. (Or deliberately lose, in a more pessimistic view, see Tony vs Rhodey in IM2 and Bruce and Nat in AoU).

But their entire relationship to me, in the MCU at least, and possibly in the comics, is these two people who constantly catch flashes of the real person underneath but also get distracted by game recognizing game. I mean, mostly I just find them fascinating because they get completely snowed by each other time after time which is just so??? I just picture their relationship as being: ‘I know Tony’ or ‘I know Natasha’ and being wrong but also being right. They get each other, and more importantly, they get the really dark parts of each other, the confusion, the unstableness, but they also really don’t.

Like, I’m not saying any of this right. Tony is not who the public thinks he is, but he’s also not the person he would like to be. He aspires - to Iron Man, to Captain America, to Pepper and Rhodey’s hopes. Natasha is not who the public thinks she is, but she’s played enough roles that she might not even know who she wants to be. So where both of them live is the in-between. They are two characters to me that are most defined by the characteristics ascribed to them that they do not fulfill in reality. Everybody wants you to be something. Tony and Nat, more often than not, are not what you are giving to them, but hey they’ll wear it for awhile if it helps. Tony will beg if that’s what Ross needs to hear. Nat will be the comforting friend with a free shoulder if that’s what Steve needs. And they’ll both be true, because Tony and Nat are good enough to make that happen, but it’s not all the way down. It’s as true as it needs to be.

So, “these two run on the conflict between public and private perceptions of themselves” both applies to their relationship and the characters themselves. It’s like a lens, right? And they’re smart enough to see it. And that ends up being their downfall a lot of the time.

Like, I don’t think Tony and Nat are just these super Fake (TM) people, lest anyone think that. Obviously they have core characteristics and beliefs that do not change, or have logical growth. I think they actually end up being two of the more honest characters. If you don’t know who you are, if you are not what people say you are but you are not what you think you are, then whatever you are at the deepest darkest part of you is it. Luckily, Tony and Nat are good people at the core - it’s everything else that distorts them.
