Guys LOOK they made a schizospec Palm Pal and I am absolutely living for it she is now my personal mascot
This actually means so much to me, it's a step in the right direction to fight stigma, get kids (and other Palm Pals-enjoyers) more openminded about accepting people with unfairly severely stigmatized mental illness 🩶 thank you for the representation, Aurora

Quick reminder that ASPD diagnostic criteria is gross (as with most disorders)! Basically the criteria for cluster B personality disorders is as follows
ASPD: Big, bad, scary person criminal
NPD: Abusive and/or mean to me 🥺
HPD: Hysterical woman that I cheated on my wife with and now I need to blame her for it who is a slut
BPD: Clingy bitch who acts crazy when I cheat and has Daddy Issues(TM)

I beg you in the year of our lord 2023—please don’t use “bipolar” (or “bpd,” for that matter) as a shortcut for “this character is (almost) irredeemably broken and fucked up”??

The truth is this; the more you speak up about your mental health, the better you can be as well as others. You are loved, needed, wanted, and important. Don’t let bullies make you believe that you are any less about yourself. Speaking out can help you and others.

Hey everyone, as we kick off Mental Health Month this May, let's take a moment to reflect on the importance of mental health, self-care, removing stigma and lessening isolation. Did you know that patients experiencing a mental or behavioral health crisis account for one in eight emergency department visits in the United States? Unfortunately, approximately 40% of those visits result in inpatient hospital admission involving involuntary evaluations, restraints, and forced medication.
This is where Peer Respite Centers come in. Peer respites offer a more effective, humane, and less costly approach to treating a mental health crisis. A peer respite is a voluntary, short-term program that provides community-based, non-clinical support to individuals experiencing or at risk of experiencing a psychiatric crisis. These centers are staffed and operated by people with lived experience of mental health issues and offer a homelike environment where individuals can receive support from their peers.
Unfortunately, peer respites are still few in number. As of 2018, only 14 states had at least one peer respite within their borders, and there were only 31 peer respites across the country. We need to invest more money in Peer support services such as Peer Respite Centers to help individuals struggling with mental health issues. Let's spread the word and work together towards a brighter future for mental health care! #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #SelfCare #EndStigma #PeerRespiteCenters
Below is a Sample text you can use to write your legislators. We must invest in these to help with people suffering with Mental health issues.
LETTER SAMPLE
Dear [Legislator's Name],
I am writing to you today to propose an investment in peer respite centers across the United States. As you may know, patients experiencing a mental or behavioral health crisis account for one in eight emergency department visits in the US, with approximately 40 percent of those visits resulting in inpatient hospital admission. These hospital admissions can involve involuntary evaluations, restraints, and forced medication. Peer respites offer a more effective, humane, and less costly approach to treating a mental health crisis.
Peer respites are voluntary, short-term, community-based programs that provide non-clinical support to individuals experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, a psychiatric crisis. These programs are staffed and operated by people with lived experience of mental health issues. They serve as an alternative to hospitalization and provide a homelike environment where guests can stay between 0 to 30 days. According to a 2018 survey conducted by Live & Learn, Inc., peer respites offer many non-clinical services, including various support groups, participation in meditation and mindfulness exercises, arts and crafts, religious or spiritual services, and participation in Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) activities.
As of 2018, only 14 states had at least one peer respite within their borders, and there were only 31 peer respites across the country, with respites in California, Georgia, and New York accounting for almost half of that total. This is not enough to meet the needs of individuals experiencing a mental health crisis across the US.
Therefore, I urge you to consider investing in the expansion of peer respite centers across the US. These programs provide a more effective and humane approach to treating a mental health crisis, and they are less costly than hospitalization. Additionally, peer respites are staffed and operated by individuals with lived experience of mental health issues, which provides a unique level of understanding and support to guests.
Thank you for your consideration of this important issue.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]

Anyway I think national eating disorder awareness week is almost over but I do want to say that as cheesy as it is, recover is possible and it does get better and easier and you will feel like yourself again. There is no shame in asking for help, needing help, or wanting help. There IS shame in how so much of modern media is centered around weight and beauty standards for girls and how often celebrities and influencers normalise disordered eating.

look idk who on Goddess' green Earth decided ableism towards the severely mentally ill was cute but it needs to stop
looking at u "delulu" girlies*
*also schizoposting/lobotomycore girlies and "I'm in your walls" bros and all u other sadistic creeps. (also the oldest and most ingrained in society which is still kind of a bad and lazy excuse for ableism: "that's psychotic" as negative) all of u just go straight to jail and don't pass go. and don't come out till you've thought about your actions and decided to treat disabled folks better

I literally got diagnosed with ASPD a month ago and I am already exhausted of trying to educate ableists.
It's one thing to help destigmatize a disorder you only think you have, but it's a lot more emotional labor when you know the terrible things they're saying are aimed at you.
Might need to take a break on trying to educate ableists and just start blocking them for a while again. Idk.
