𝙻𝚘𝚊𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚙𝚕𝚎𝚝𝚎… Hello hello hello! Welcome back to the Lalin’s Curse breakdown! I know I said I was going on hiatus, but something about going on hiatus makes me nervous and want to do theories. Huh, maybe I should always be on hiatus then.

In order to try and catch up to the series, I'm smashing a bunch of episodes into one breakdown episode. Let’s get right into it.

Starting off in Episode 5, the crew is investigating the crime scene. Upon seeing the scratch marks, Cody suggests they were made by a bear or a wolf.

It’s a good thing no one there was an animal nerd, or else they would have immediately known that's unlikely. According to several sources, bears and wolves are not common in that area. (You can skip ahead some, these are just animal facts)

Endangered means there’s really not that many

And there’s a very low bear population density.

Not too many wolves either.

OKAYY THE ANIMAL TANGENT IS DONE-! Then they take a look at the blood on the fallen tree. Whilst everyone then thought it was a bird poop, we’ve got a pretty good idea of what it really was..

This next panel is important, as well as a panel somewhat after that. Isaky keeps zooming in on their shoes, with Cody’s shoes always included. Like here:

And then here:

I believe this is a callback to episode 0, when we see the shoes of whoever rescued the reporter. Based on the provided evidence (shoes, Cody patrolling the woods), it’s likely Cody.

And then they find the hand! I was really excited about the latest episode, because I theorized it was Cody’s hand and it was! Not exactly a big theory, but it was cool. And bloody. Poor Codyyyy-

Now, let’s talk about Eric.

Based on his body language, comic indicators (things like visible sweat drops, motion lines, blush lines, etc..), and facial expressions, I can generally read that he’s nervous, but also really wants to stay in the woods.

Just look at him and his nervous sweat! It’s clear he’s scared to some extent, but really wants to cover it up. This is where things get tricky to deduce.

One explanation for his behavior is that he is acting brave and pushy in order to maintain his image to himself and his friends. This also means maybe being slightly aggressive and outing his own insecurities on others, like when he calls David a coward. (Which in turn triggered David)

He may have spoken to David, but I think he meant those words for himself.

Also, the stance he takes with Tobias comes off as somewhat hostile. It says in his reference that he doesn’t like not getting his way, so these behaviors could also be partly a product of that.

The second explanation is much more fun.

In Episode 0, Monica enters an old building, it’s furnished like a house. That’s because it was one… sort of.

In a theory podcast (link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LULkvaqaW2M ) it was discussed that the building actually used to be an old hospital for tuberculosis.

If you research such hospitals, you’ll discover that tuberculosis and leprosy was a big problem in the early 20th century (1900s). Such hospitals are also widely considered to be haunted.

After being shut down as a hospital built by the patients it was meant to treat, the building was used as an orphanage, until it was shut down around 1962.

The fact that it was an orphanage perfectly explains the house-like furniture. And a place like that is definitely haunted, which is a good explanation for all the things Monica saw.

 In a podcast, Isaky said that this series would cover both aliens and typically paranormal things such as ghosts and haunted places.

In episode 8, as David is doing research on the curse of Lalin, he mentions a teenager dying last year in an abandoned building.

Here’s how the theory goes: - Eric is impulsive and interested in investigating things. - It is likely that others in his family share this trait. - According to an old bio, Eric’s brother is dead, and died 1-2 years prior to the beginning of Lalin’s Curse - Eric is intent on being in the woods and investigating.

Due to the character evidence and research done, I think that Eric’s brother was killed by spirits in the abandoned orphanage/hospital 1-2 years ago, which is part of why Eric’s reactions regarding the forest are so strong. And the fact that he knows people die there also helps explain why he ran away so quickly.

I’d love to hear what you guys think about this theory!

There was going to be more for this theory file, but it got pretty lengthy when I added all the pictures.

Next up we’ll discuss Felix’s heart conditions, and when I get to later episodes, there’a bunch of theories I have regarding the bridge!

Lalin's Curse Band AU: Introduction Post!

Hey guys! Since a good handful of you guys like my Band AU, I figured I'd start posting about it here for those who don't have the amino!

If you are on the amino, you've already seen this (but you can skim over as a refresher just saying UwU), but below is some information on each of the roles and a bit about each of the boys (and girls) in the AU!

Sadly, I don't have designs for the girls yet ;-; but if this does good I may do those. Keep in mind, I'm a very busy person, being a student and all.
