Omg your newt scamander fics are amazing!! Literally amazing! I was wondering if you could write one when the reader and newt are cuddling and he brushes her thighs (sweet affection nothing sexual) but discovers the reader had sensitive thighs. She’s embarrassed but he thinks it’s cute! ❤️‍🩹
Sensitivity - Newt Scamander
Tumblr media
A/N: Hi! I’m glad you like my Newt writings! I hope this turned out alright. Sorry it’s so short.
It was getting late in the night and you were exhausted beyond belief. You had spent the day running errands and doing chores while Newt worked on his book and took care of his creatures. By the time you and Newt finished eating dinner, you were ready for bed. Except you hadn’t really seen Newt that much today, so you opted for sitting with him on the couch while he finished up on some writing.
Your legs were draped over Newt’s lap as you leaned your head against his shoulder. You watched Newt as he scribbled notes onto a scrap piece of parchment. He used his magic to hold open a book in front of him, occasionally flipping the page for him to continue reading and taking notes.
Eventually your eyes started to droop closed and you began drifting in and out of sleep. The weight of Newt’s arms resting on your legs was oddly comforting, lulling you even deeper into sleep. That is, until Newt innocently began lightly tracing his fingers across your thighs. He didn’t think anything of it, just assuming it’d be a comforting gesture. But then you jerked your legs back and squealed, scooting away from your lover.
“I-I’m sorry,” Newt quickly apologized. “I didn’t mean anything by it, I swear!”
Your face was a bright shade of red as you tried to avoid Newt’s apologetic eyes. “No, you’re alright.”
Newt tilted his head with slight confusion. “Then what’s wrong?”
Your face grew even redder as you stuttered out, “M-my thighs a-are sensitive.” Your voice faded out at the end.
Newt could see how embarrassed you were, but he thought it was so cute. He wasn’t sure how he didn’t notice this tarot of your’s sooner. “Don’t be embarrassed, N/N,” he laughed lightly, pulling you back over to him and draping your legs over his lap again. “I think it’s cute. Now get some rest.” Newt pressed a kiss to the top of your head. “You look exhausted.

Who are you? (Pt 1)
Tumblr media
"Hi, can I ask a credence barebone x reader where the reader is from the future? They are one of the house heirs, either Gryffindor or Hufflepuff, or Ravenclaw. As we all know who's Slytherin's so your choice. And the reader is a great witch or wizard but feels a constant pressure to be so, reader could've been sent back in time when newt and Tina went to the future to get them by Dumbledore's orders to help them defeat Grindelwald. So when Reader meets Credence it's like a magical moment?" requested by: @aura-nightingale
pairings: platonic! newt scamander x reader / credence barebone x reader
warnings: none
A/N: Sorry this took so long! first things first, I haven't watched the third movie and it's been a while I saw the first two, so I'm very rusty, hehe, please bear with me :') Also, I decided to make this a two-part bcs I thought it was getting quite lengthy, lol.
You were in the Astronomy Tower, looking over the school. The warm night breeze was pleasant, you were humming a random tune as you heard a faint "whoosh" behind you.
As you turned, you saw two wizards. They looked a little light-headed, so you conjured up two seats with a flick of your wand. You smiled and gestured for them to sit.
"Tina Goldstein and Newt Scamander, right?" You asked.
The pair looked at you, surprised.
"I've expected your arrival, although, you two were a tad early than I expected." You huffed. "I'm Y/N L/N. Ravenclaw's Heir! I specialize in all the spells in the books and beyond that." You said. "You see, I have the gift of clairvoyance, that is how I knew you two were coming." You point to your suitcase by your feet. "I'm ready to go! So you don't have to wait!" You smiled.
"Before you say anything, Dumbledore has already told me everything, well, past Dumbledore and I'm willing to help." You explained.
"Well, Y/N. Take your suitcase and we can be on our way." Tina said, with a small smile. You took your suitcase and walked towards them.
"Hold on tight now, it's gonna be a bumpy ride," Newt warned, be before reciting the spell.
*timeskip*
"Woah, you weren't kidding when you said it was gonna be bumpy," You said, half leaning on the wall. Your head feels like it was gonna be split apart. "Here, sit." Newt said, settling you down on a chair he found. "Where are we anyway?" you asked, your head slowly getting clearer. "We're at a cottage on the outskirts of Hogwarts. Albus should be on his way to see you." You nodded.
A few minutes passed, and you heard knocking on the door. A few voices were talking and were getting closer. You shifted and made yourself look presentable. The door opened and there was Dumbledore.
"Mr. Dumbledore, I-" You started. "I know, Miss Y/N. I did call you here after all." You smiled. You were shifting from one foot to the other, slightly intimidated by the man you knew as your headmaster. "Don't be nervous, we're just going to talk and discuss our plan against Grindlewald. I trust that you know the situation?" He asked you. You nodded. "Very well, we'll meet here in two days time." He looked at Newt. "Do you mind accompanying Miss Y/N till then, Newt? " He asked. Newt nodded.
"Then it's settled. I'll see you two then." He said, before walking away.
You unconsciously let out a sigh, before looking over to Newt. "I've read your books, I'm an avid fan." You shyly mumbled. You have been busy dealing with your headache and travel here to have time to start a conversation with him. "Ah...thank you," Newt said, his cheeks slightly pink. "I was wondering if I could see them first hand? Like, I've always wanted to be like you since I was younger, but then I've never had a chance to." You asked "O-Only if you want to! My apologies for asking such things, I tend to get carried away sometimes.." You trailed off.
How dumb am I! You thought to yourself. How could you ask him for something like that-
"You may if you like," He said. "I'm so sorry Mr- wait, what?" You asked. "I said, that you could see them if you want to." Your eyes sparkled. "Thank you so much, Mr. Scamander! I promise to not touch anything!" You said, excitedly. He put down his case and opened it. He went in and he gestured for you to follow.
You carefully climbed down.
Once your feet touched the floor, you brush some dust off your clothes before turning around. Newt was standing by the doorway with a bucket of pellets. "Uhm, I have to feed the mooncalves." He said. "May I come with? I heard that they confused Muggles with their dancing patterns?" You asked. Newt slightly smiled and nodded. "They do, It was believed that this is part of the Mooncalf's mating ritual, but it also had the side effect of creating geometric patterns of wheat fleids." He explained.
The two of you walked by the habitats in Newt's suitcase. There was a pack of Nifflers playing around and a tree with a family of Bowtruckles. You were filled with wonder and amazement. There were so many beasts and creatures alike that you heard of but never seen in your time. You and Newt reached the Moonclaf's habitat. They were a pack of them trotting down towards the both of you. You quietly gasped as you felt them surround you and Newt. You froze still, you could've mistaken for a statue.
"You can relax, they're not hostile," Newt said, who was pulling his sleeves up. The mooncalves were very friendly with you, nudging your hands, thinking that you had food for them. You patted one of them, their fur felt soft and fluffy to the touch.
"Now then, would you like to try and feed them?" He offered. Your head shot up and nodded excitingly. "Can I really?" you said, sounding like a kid in a candy store. Newt noticed your excitement and gave you a lopsided smile. "Yeah, but please don't overfeed them, a handful of pellets should suffice." He advised. He handed the bucket to you, and you grabbed a handful of pellets and threw them at the mooncalves. The pellets floated above their head, and they were eating away happily.
After that, you thanked Newt for the "tour" of his magical suitcase and the two of you went off and walked around the streets of New York, as you had never been there in your time. As you walked, suddenly, a sea of people rushed in for lunch hour and proceeded to separate you and Newt.
Now, slightly lost, you decided to explore more, within the nooks and crannies of alleyways and going into shops. You weren't really in a rush to get back, because you knew you could find Newt easily if you wanted to.
Ah, Having clairvoyance is such a blessing.
But you weren't expected to bump into a man, who seem an little out of it.
"Sorry for bumping into you sir I-" you paused as the man turned to look at you. Your eyes widened. He was beautiful, just like someone out of your wildest dream. You have never seen a man quite like him. Dark ebony hair, defined jawline, and slightly pale skin. You wondered if he was even human in the first place.
He was staring at you too, not in a rude way, but as if he was seeing someone unbelievable. The two of you hesitantly took a step toward each other. "You-" You started.
"Who are you?"

I understand that people are upset Hollywood dropped Jonny Depp from all of their movies, but oh my god he did not fit into Fantastic Beasts. Why did he look like he was plucked out of Edward Scissorhands without a costume change?? If I’m going to be honest none of the characters look they’re from the 1920s, but Depp didn’t even look like he belonged in the franchise. Personally I like Mads Mikkelsen. He just fit the vibes so much better, and he actually looks like someone Dumbledore would fuck
Look, you can love Jonny Depp all you want, but not every A lister works in all the roles they’re given and that’s ok. I’m not saying Depp is a bad actor, I’m just saying I didn’t like him in Fantastic Beasts.
And if you don’t like my opinion that’s fine. Jenny Nicholson also agrees that Jonny Depp didn’t work in Fantastic Beasts and that’s good enough for me

I have seen the third fantastic beasts and i have some thoughts to get out.
First...no wonder the fantastic beasts part was in small print. They are there but the dumbloir secert abd grindalwald wascfront and center.
I didn't mind the recast if johnny depp. He wasn't my #grindlewald not my gtindlewald anyway.
I'm glad that thatcfinally properly soelled out Dumblediir and Grindlewald were romantucalky involved before.
They iggically commited.
My issye though is it wasn't a strong enough emotional core. For Harry and his friends i cared about then doing mundabe styff qbd their rekationships and their conflict even when they weren't facing a darklord.
Alit if the drama was emitional. I understood why Harry was attached to dumbledoor when Higwarts was a safe place from the dursleys and how when he is around he jept alit jf bad stuff at bay..with shit hiting thecfan when the old man isn't around.
I still don't understand why Newt is this attached to Dumbledoor.
With Ron and Harry there was that firstcfruendship and genuine care that ron and hihis famiky showed to Harry. With drana xoming from Rin caring for Harry but him feeling one if nany and fadung intinthe backgroubd due to his brothers. Hiw that bounced off Harry's fame. The situation with Ginny's crush on Harry and her almkst dying. How harry liked Cho but she hated Cedric who died saving Harry. The lowkey rascism against non muggle folk giving excuses for purebloids to look diwn on people. Dobbje anand his fight to free houselves who are so brainwashed they think its bad to be free. The romance at times.
Now i'll admit im not a big fan of the second fantastic beasts. Grindkewald js suppoused to be scarier than vokdemirt. The hitler ir worst of wizards. Many if the timeline points felt like retcons or maje no sense considering the Harry potter series and the new characters they intriduced they used in weird ways.
That said they didn't use ANY if the emotional conflict the previous movie set up.
Queenie went rogue to follow Grindlewald since he promised to have wizards and muggles allowed to marry. She nonconsentually spell drugged our baker and ignored his valid concerns about how its illegal and in america people were put to death for less(the weird room of memory goo in the first movie). But she can read minds kr emotions so we don't get HOW she was convienced to defect.
They just have her regret it all of a sudden.
Now don't get me wrong. I want and love the engame of this couple.....but theykind of ignore how a couple clashes to become stronger and to rebuild trust. I love this couple due to their chemistry andhow good the actors show they are smitten...but action wise Queeniedidnothing to protect Creedalence, had to be cornered by our Baker andneeded to be convienced to leave...not to mention brainwashed our baker and acted like he was the problem for not wanting to get married and was hurt even ththoththouththoththougththoththouththoththough it was understandable he was unsettled by being brainwashed.
More over as fun as the new attack battle nerd was...wasn't the bajer commited to saving queeny in the last movie? What was the point of convincing him in the first place if he came that easily? How did Grindlewaldconvince a mind reader?
More over....the biggest gripe is they didn't properly use the death of miss lita strange.
I may have thought having that weird 'conflict'that Newt was writen to be engaged when hus girlfriend is Tinawhen it was actually hus brother was dumb. But if yourgoing to fridge a lady of that caliber at least use her deaths impact on the story properly!
They set up that her brother, newt and newts brother and finacee were all involved but we don't see tge impact it has on anyof them. She was one if awjward Newts first friends. She saved some of them and was the love if newts brother's life. Yetthe onlyone who was shiwn to care washer brothewho had the memory if her ripped out of his head...ysveing told about the affect by Queenie.....so the brother lost all memory of heher due to Queenje not keeping her mouth shut.
Maybe it was implied some affect from the bro when he stared a little longer where Grindkewald disappeared...but even the baker had a stronge reaction to Grindlewald being described as having done nothing wrong! The finceeends up going to a wedding at the endif the mivue yeyet no lamenting he will never get to see the love if his life again? He'll never get married to her now?
Also...I'm just going to say it. I like inclusion and feminism. Equality for all and all that...but i am VERY confused about the wizarding word. This is literally during world war 2 era correct? Where alot of things go wrong. I get Europe being more progressive....but it feels like its trying to erase the sexism and rascism problems and it unsettles me that a black lady was incharge if the american wizarding world in America...nit because i didn't like the inclusion....but because it kind of implies to me that she was there for inclusion but also it made her seem incompetant and raises ten times more questions on how the muggleworld and wizard world interacts.
America was, is and still has alot of lingering rascism problems. The main society in America AND Europe has alot of sexism problems even today....let alone during the world war II era. Many of the problems or blindspots came from old white guys who were raised with many of those beliefs lingering or in the forefront who weren't able to see ithers perspectives or wereit was looked diwn apon to hang out with people who could give those perspectives with society making it hard for those perspectives to be in the forefront or get higher in society.
Yet one of the main leaders in America seems to be a afrucan american lady yet muggkes and wizards can't marry abd you get put to death easily?
I enjoy the hell out if her...but does she get harrassed and cornered by regular muggles? Does her subbordants treat her worst in the muggle public? Did wizards just let slavery happen?
Is there no sexism in Europe since a lady could be incharge if the wizarding world.
We saw the new attack wizard get harrassed in public but ut was a set up for rmthe baker and not real whenharassment like that really happens. How woukd that have worked in real life? Wouldsgw be alliwedto defend herself against muggles or would she had had to ender to nit get antiwitch people ir risk discovery of the wuzardibg world?
I love the baker to bits but he was raised in the regular muggle world with non of that brought up!
And the attack wizard is fun but we barely got to see her for fruendships with the group! Why was she against grindlewald? We know she is a fan if Newt book and she is alot if fun...and you shouldn't need a good reason to be against war or rascism. I know. But she is a character in a movieand if i'm going to be invested i need to know why.
I think they mentioned her being familar with Tina and motivated by Queenie....but we don't see them interact. She stops that one lady from being assasinated but we don't see her try to talk to Queenie.
More over the only real man of color is tge brother strange but he looked like a dead traumatized fish after getting his mind wiped! And didnt get to talk the rest of the movie with Grindlewald implying he would side with the pureblood wizards. The actor played him well but he was given nothing to really do. We don't know why he stayed on the goodside or if he ever remembers the sister and his not doublecross ended with asking what took him so long. It was a little funny and the scene was cool but why did he stick with the good side?!
Also why didn't he and Newtsbrother have anytalks when they both lost Lita?
Another gripe is why do they keep writing out Tina? Mind you Tina took a while to grow on me. She gave the impresion kf a newbie at her job even though she was good at it and was only demoted because she handled trying to save creedance sloppily.
But i know they made a better version for him to be the nephew and not the brother of Dumbledore. But the reason i cared about Creedance at all was because Newthad baggage because he failed to save a gurl with a similar pproblem and while NEWTdidn't seem to care about adults much...kids and aninaks qrehis thingand ththaththat was a good mix. But also because TINAcared about Creedance.
She put her job on the line trying toget himout of a abusive situation just to think he died alone, betrayed and in pain in the first movie. Shewas offscreen forthe majority of the second movie because she was trying to track down Creedance. Newt had been trying to find her as well so that was a plotpoint. She had wanted to save Creedance.
Yet Tina was written out AGAIN? Even though Queenie is her room mate/sister? Even though she has one of the strongest reasons to care and feel responsable for Creedance?
When she had one of the strongest reasons to want to save Queenie and how to convince her?
More over itwas sloppy hiw she qas written out. Thus ladybug was demoted in the first movie. In the second she was in the fueld. Failed tofind Creedance and her iwn sister defected and many people died. She was barely listened to in the first movie. WHY THE HELL WOULD SHE BE PROMOTED TO A HEAD POSITION AND BE UNABLE TO COME HELP SAVE QUEENIE?!
More over she realized in the second movie the fiance stuff was a misunderstanding. Why wouldn't she keep incontact with Newt?
Instead we git more screentime for a lady assistant who oogled Newt inthe second movie! Someone who i wasn't a big fan of because NEWT's appeal is he is so socially awkward he prefered animals to people so him actually making friends has a impactic. We understood why many ladies wouldn't be interested in him but also why Tina eventually had him grow on her. So a assistant not mentioned ir appearing inthe first movie but suddenly appearing as always being there for the other two?
Why should i be sympathizing with her unrequited love when she hadn't told him all this time and he never hidhaffections for Tina?
If felt like they weretrying to pull a Neville Longbottom. Someone unsuspecting becoming cool...but it feeling kind of shallow?
Also was the German head wizard in on it or not? He seemed in on it then genuinely shocked and dazed at the zhombie horse creature.
It gives off a weird feeling when it comes to us knowing what the Nazi's did and there not being much establishment on what those symbols mean or what the others wizard leaders want. Also is the wizard incharge of germany affected by the issues that affected the muggle Germans that made muggles suseptable to Hilter after world war 1? and their bias to look for someone easy to blame?
Also...was Dumbledoor's brother against him and grindkewald because they are Gay? Or because Grindlewald was a pureblood nazi? Are gay people allowed to marry in the Wizarding or not?
And as much as i like the wedding.....why was Queenie and the Baker allowed to get married? I thought the American wizarding word was a little backword and not affected by Europe?
Its not like the astral bowed to the muggle baker that would blow everyone's minds.
Though Dumbledoor was really funny.
Some favorite scenes were Newt and his brother. They didn't adress any emotional stuff like how newts friend andhis bro's fiance is dead. Or references to the mini conflict in the second movie where the bro wanted Newt to try socializing more. Join the ministery which is a stable job.
Newt was really upset by it because newt loves his profession and his bro asking that made him feel like his bro didn't take what NEWT wanted seriously just like all the other people who looked diwn on Newt and his profession. NEWTstance was understandable....but hewas also childish about it because while newtwas right ti defend hiw hefelt hecoukd not sesee hus brother was trying to help and was concerned about him even if his attempt was misguided.
I kindof wish theyhad talked that out a bit more. But you could feel that brotherly chemistry even if the bro gotkidnapped intheworst kjdnapping scene i had ever seen.
Also...is Dumbledoor and Grindlewald still in love? Its unclear.
It felt like they won inthe end....but its also confusing because isnt Grindkewalf supolpiused to be even more terrifying and widescale than vokemort? I like happy endings but if grindkewald is going to be causing that much death in the future...why have him lose? Or did he already cause the deaths offscreen?
Also what happened to Naggine the kady to turned into a snake, Creedence'sgirlfriend and voldemorts future lacky?
this vague word buildingwirked well in Harry potter. The little bit built on each other and it was a controlled seperate environment...but its weirdwhen they are adults and we shoukd get more info.
If Newt was just focused onaninaks and stumbked into things its one thing buthe us ckearly more involved and alot of other pieces just raise more questions!?
That said this was still more entertaining to watch than the second one. The tri scorpian alone was worth it.
But seriously...therewas so many opportunities to have a emotiobal connection with the characters that they just didn't take.....Why?!
A secert society under our noses is fun....but they made a big deal about muggles not finding out in the first movie as a main priority...yet there are fights infront of muggles? Potential nonexplained fight dimension or not.
Why did Creedence go BACK to Grindlewald after Dumbledoor told him he lied?
Why are they treating Tina and Newt like the best couple when they haven't built their relationship properly since the first one?!
After theassistant was being pushed to make me feel bad for her? Wa i suppoused to laugh, feel pity or be creeped out when she called Newt her husband?
How does Tina feel about Creedence still unable to be saved?
Its a very good looking movie. Alot of the delivery was nice and fight scene were fun. But its hard to turn off my brain when the harrypotter series was pretty consistant in comparison. And this has issues even keeping this seperate from the regular Harry Potter series.
The fun parts are still fun. But i don't think I'm over thinking too much right?

A Stranger with a Familiar Face | Chapter One: To Start Anew
Tumblr media
Stars Series | A Stranger with a Familiar Face
It was a gray day in Paris, rain threatening emptily to fall from the dreary clouds. He’d hoped for the sweet smell of fresh rain on the pavement, the dainty fragrance of flowers the market nearby was selling, or, most fittingly, the intoxicating scent of freshly baked bread - but all that met his nose was garbage and dirty gutters. It, surprisingly, had him missing New York, and Gellert Grindelwald was quite certain that nothing would make him miss New York.
With a sigh that went unnoticed by his Acolytes, Grindelwald glanced pensively around the street Rosier had recommended. The neighborhood, centrally located in the Boulevard Haussmann Les Grand Magasins De Paris, was wealthy enough to impress Purebloods interested in the cause, yet unimportant enough to remain under the radar. Blood thirsty as she was, Vinda Rosier was proving to be a valuable asset.
Sauntering down the mildly busy street, the hungry eyes of his Acolytes watched him, patiently awaiting his decision. The man took his time, reveling in his returned power, reveling in being in his own skin once more. After such a significant drawback in America, Grindelwald was finally feeling like his former self, finally feeling like he was back on track. His heterochromatic, all-knowing eyes settled on a particularly fine house in the middle of the lane, and he gently tilted the end of his cane towards it. His Acolytes descended on it like a pack of wolves.
As if conjured, a hearse drawn by two black horses turned the corner, drove coachmanless down the cobbled street, and settled in front of the chosen apartment. Grindelwald stood alone beside it, watching the street, waiting patiently. Two green flashes came from the windows above. Not a soul looked up.
Grindelwald hardly stirred as the door reopened. Nagel and Krafft emerged, each holding one end of a sleek black coffin, Krall and MacDuff following along with a second. He watched on with hardly a trace of emotion on his face, not daring to show any pleasure in the Muggles’ deaths. This was a necessary evil. The hearse continued down the street, and Grindelwald led his followers back inside the now vacant apartment.
“Yes,” Grindelwald mused, walking from room to room in surveyance. The couple had been well off - old money, most likely - and their home would be very enticing to Purebloods, once they de-Muggled it. “This will be suitable after a thorough cleanse.” His eyes traveled to each of his companions as they made themselves comfortable in the apartment. They settled on Nagel, who stood at attention as their gazes met. “I want you to go to the circus now,” he ordered gently, stepping closer to the dark-skinned man. “Give my note to Credence, begin his journey.”
Nagel nodded, leaving the apartment. Thoughts of Credence Barebone replace his presence.
“When we’ve won,” started Rosier, filling the unsettled silence and pulling Grindelwald from his calculative thoughts, “they’ll flee cities in the millions. They’ve had their time.”
“We don’t say such things out loud,” Grindelwald quickly intervened, stopping the supportive smirks before they got out of hand. Their supremacy was a dangerous ideology, one that could easily turn potential allies against them. “We want only freedom,” he preached. “Freedom to be ourselves.”
Rosier watched him with a pensive respect. “To annihilate non-wizards,” she added.
“Not all of them, not all,” he assured, his eyes finding Abernathy’s for a moment. “We’re not merciless.”
The American wizard was the only one among them that was not Pureblood - in fact, he was quite the opposite. Born to two No-Majes in Upstate New York, Ulric Abernathy had always been torn between two worlds. While more easily accepted into Wizarding society than most other places, namely Britain, Muggleborns in America faced their own challenges set in place by MACUSA’s strict secrecy laws - once they are old enough to control their magic, all trace of magic is erased from their non-magical family’s memory. Since he was eleven, Ulric has had to juggle two separate identities, hiding the biggest part of him from those who had raised him. The assurance of his family’s safety had been the biggest factor in convincing him to join the cause.
Grindelwald’s gaze flitted back to the others, easily picking up on the air of confusion surrounding the Purebloods. “The beast of burden will always be necessary,” he concluded, and all parties looked satisfied.
A soft cooing close at hand caused everyone in the room to stiffen. The Acolytes tried not to catch their leader’s eye, fearing punishment for not having cleared the apartment completely, but Grindelwald looked only towards the closed door at the far end of the room - a nursery.
He felt an all too familiar prickling on his skin, as though struck with a sudden chill, and though they did not know it, he would not be punishing any of his careless Acolytes. It seemed as though they had stumbled into a happy accident, though Grindelwald wondered if it was an accident at all. He took a deep breath as he started towards the room, preparing for the moment of judgment he knew to come.
The child made not a sound as Grindelwald gently pushed open the door. Carrow, a woman more prejudiced towards Muggles and Muggleborns than anyone else in the room, followed closely, poorly hiding the excited look in her eyes. She knew that if Grindelwald decided to do away with this spawn of dirt, he would turn to her, and she would oblige all too gladly. She felt her confidence growing as the child looked up at her fearfully.
But yet, as Grindelwald crouched before the young boy, the hardly-year-old child looked into his mismatched eyes with nothing but curiosity. Everyone in the room held their breath.
Grindelwald watched the boy for a long time, attempting to manipulate his abilities as a seer to look into this boy’s future, though he knew that’s not how his abilities worked. Surely there was something, he told himself. He would not have gotten that chill if there was not. He would not have chosen this home.
The child’s wide blue eyes stared back into the man’s heterochromatic eyes, and slowly, gradually, his left eye, only his left, darkened from a soft blue to a dark, dark brown, mirroring the man before him. A grin broke out on Grindelwald’s face.
“He is a wizard,” Grindelwald announced, rising.
Carrow’s smile fell into a sneer, and she pulled out her wand as if she’d been ordered. “Then he is a Mudblood,” she hissed, sizing up the child, “and he deserves to die.”
From the back of the group, Abernathy lunged forward, MacDuff’s reflexive grip on his wrist being the only thing that kept the Muggleborn from drawing his wand. Carrow cowered slightly in shock. She knew, of course, of his blood status, but the reserved man had never before reacted like this to her blatant and repetitive degrading of his kind. She’d never thought he had it in him, but the look in his eyes now was almost murderous.
In the midst of the action, Grindelwald had bent down to retrieve the child, with whom he now stood strongly. His face was hardened and dark, and while not quite as murderous as Abernanthy’s, it set fear in Carrow’s bones as she turned back to face him. “We do not speak that way of our own,” his voice boomed, drawing all eyes back to him.
Carrow’s voice was much quieter, much less confident as she next spoke: “Our own?”
Grindelwald’s eyes narrowed. “Is he not a wizard? Is not Abernathy?”
The witch was blinking rapidly, stumbling over her words. “Yes - yes but - ”
“But nothing,” Grindelwald countered almost calmly. “You will remember your place, Carrow, or you will be reminded of it.” Carrow watched him in shock, frozen, unsure of how to proceed. Grindelwald spoke again before she could form a decisive thought. “I think it is best if you leave for now. Return only when you remember the Greater Good that we are fighting for.”
After a moment of processing his words, Carrow backed away from him, hastening out of the room, taking the path as far from Abernathy as she could. Grindelwald surveyed the room as she departed, watching the reactions of his followers to determine which of them would favor her ideals to his. His eyes lingered on Rosier, but she watched him only with devotion.
Finally, his eyes met Abernathy’s, and he ushered him forward. With no hesitance, the American wove his way through the group and stood strongly before his master. The child sat on Grindelwald’s hip like a christened prince, one sure to inherit the entire world. “Sir?” said Abernathy.
“As the one among us who will most closely relate to the child, I will leave him in your care,” Grindelwald declared. “You will raise him, I will teach him, and when he is old enough, he will join our ranks. I have no doubt that he will be a valuable asset, as you are, Abernathy.”
Abernathy took a moment to respond, but eventually he nodded. He had not considered fatherhood in a long time, not since he had to break the heart of the No-Maj he had been in love with even before he knew he was a wizard. But, as Grindelwald placed the recently orphaned child in his arms, he took on the responsibility as swiftly as he would take any of Grindelwald’s orders.
“What will we call him?” Rosier piped in, and as she did, Abernathy was reminded that he would not be raising this child entirely on his own. The weight on his shoulders lessened a little.
In response, Grindelwald looked deeply into the child’s mind, using legilimency to sort through the fading and undeveloped thoughts of a toddler. After a moment of silence, he emerged with an answer. “Alderic Beaufort.”
Rosier’s eyebrows furrowed. “Alderic Beaufort?” she repeated slowly.
Grindelwald nodded. “It was the name his parents gave him, and it is the name he will keep.”
“Forgive me,” Rosier started again, and Grindelwald considered her with patience, though many others in the room were beginning to lose theirs. “If he is to start anew with us, would it not be fitting if he were to have a new name as well? Perhaps your name,” she offered, then with a glance at Abernathy, quickly added, “or Abernathy’s.”
Grindelwald chuckled at the flatterence, stepping closer to the child in Abernathy’s arms, watching him as he responded to Rosier. “It matters not what he is born or thrust into, it matters only what he chooses to become. And we can only hope that, like us, little Alderic will choose the Greater Good.”

A Dangerous Moment - Newt Scamander
A/N: I’m writing this for @newtscamanderimagines because they asked for someone to write this and I absolutely love this idea! Hope it turned out alright!
Request: Reader is female (15) and she absolutely loves all of the creatures he owns. However, one day something happens. One dangerous creature attacked her making her depressed and way too sad and scared to go back in his case. Cried all month etc. Tickles for cheer up?
Newt Scamander would tell his brother that he was at first afraid to let his little sister, you, to stay with him at first. You were only a teenager, 15 years old. He didn’t know how you’d feel benign around his creatures all the time, feeding them and interacting with them. But he gave you a chance, letting you move in with him and traveling with him as long as the trip wasn’t too far.
You surprised Newt, however, during your first night at his home. After you had gone to bed, Newt placed his suitcase down on the floor in his bedroom and climbed down into the zoo that was his suitcase. But after a few hours of sleep, you felt something climb on top of you and sit on your legs. You stirred, trying to move your legs but the weight was too heavy. When you opened your eyes, you were shocked to see a creature sitting on your legs.
“Hi,” you said gently, sitting upright slowly. “You’re a Demiguise, aren’t you?” The creature looked at you with wide blue eyes, then reached its long arms out to you. You let the creature wrap its arms around your neck and legs around your waist, then you stood. Slowly you made your way to Newt’s room. “Are you Dougal?” You asked the Demiguise and it nodded softly.
Newt wasn’t in his room, but you spotted his suitcase and opened it slowly. Making your way down the ladder, you felt the Demiguise grip you a bit tighter. You reached the bottom and your eyes widened in aw. There were magical creatures everywhere. You could see an occamy nest in the distance, and a thunderbird, too.
“This is awesome!” you exclaimed.
Dougal unwrapped himself from you and fell to the ground, taking your hand in his as he dragged you through the case. You followed, looking around at all the creatures as you were making your way through the case. Soon enough, you could see your older brother feeding mooncalves, sleeves rolled up to his elbows.
The wizard caught a glimpse of you through the corner of his eye, and did a double take, “Y/N? Why are you down here? You shouldn’t be here!” He abandoned the mooncalves as Dougal let go of your hand and climbed onto Newt’s back. “You could get hurt!”
Your eyes dimmed slightly, and you lost some of your smile. “I’m sorry. Dougal woke me up. I brought him back here and he led me to you.” You looked away from your brother. “I’m sorry, I’ll go back to bed. Sorry to bother you.”
You turned to walk away, but said one thing before you left. “Oh, and the Nifflers are sniffling. I noticed while Dougal brought me back here. You might want to check that out.”
“Wait.” You turned back to your brother, hair falling in your face and hiding Newt slightly. “You know what some of my creatures are?”
You moved the hair from your eyes and nodded. “I read your book, Newt. And sometimes I read articles about them.” You shrugged, turning away again. “But it’s no big deal. Just let me know if you need any help. I know a few things.”
From that night on, Newt let you work with him and his creatures. He had rules, though. He had to be with you whenever you were working with a dangerous creature, or one you didn’t know how to handle. Over time you were allowed to work with almost all of the creatures in Newt’s case, though.
You loved your new ‘job’ so much. You got to work with creatures as well as spend quality time with your brother. Everything was perfect until one night. You were feeding the nifflers before turning in for the night, having already fed the other creatures that Newt allowed you to tend to. As you were scooping handfuls of weeds and shrubs into the nifflers’ feeding bowls, your wand fell out of your pocket and rolled a few feet away. Thinking nothing of it, you got up from your kneeled position at the bucket of plants and walked over to your wand.
You noticed a hole in the ground near where your wand landed. You spared it a quick thought, noting how you didn’t remember seeing that hole there earlier. Then you kneeled down to pick up your wand.
You felt it before you saw it. A stinging pain coursing through your body, radiating from your hand. You cried out in pain, falling back on your butt as you gripped your hand to your chest. You could see a creature scurrying away out of the corner of your eye. You hadn’t ever seen it before, and you were sure you knew every creature in Newt’s case by now.
The pain quickly became too much to bear and your screaming was getting louder. You couldn’t sit up, tilting to the side and collapsing on your back. Your vision was fading, but you could hear something off in the distance. Through your faded gaze you could see Newt running towards you, then he was beside you.
You couldn’t remember much after that.
You wouldn’t go back into Newt’s case after that night. Even now, two weeks later, you haven’t even been able to look at a creature without bursting into tears and going into a panic. The only one you could stand to see was Picket, but only because you had been around him for years.
Newt was on edge, he’d admit. He wasn’t sure how to help you. He was so petrified when he heard you screaming that night. He thought you were being attacked by Grindlewald and his followers. But then, as he was running to you, he saw one of his venomous creatures running away from where he could hear you screaming.
You were pretty much out of it by the time he got to you. You were still conscious but Newt knew what creature had bit you, judging by the wound on your hand and said creature running past him earlier. There was no one attacking you, which was somewhat of a plus. But that didn’t change the fact that Newt was scared out of his mind. He knew how dangerous that creature was, and he wasn’t even sure how it had escaped its enclosure, but that was another problem for another time.
Newt had to pick you up and carry you back to the shed at the entrance of his case, quickly digging through all of his remedies and medicines to find what would help ease the pain and fight of the venom from the creature that bit you.
Once you recovered, you wouldn’t step foot anywhere near Newt’s case. To be honest, it saddened him that you no longer wanted to help him care for his creatures, but he understood why you were so afraid. The one thing he didn’t know how to handle, however, was the fact that you rarely left your room nowadays. He’d come in, bringing meals for the both of you and eating with you., but that was all he really could do. You spent a lot of time crying, he could hear it through the walls. You didn’t speak much anymore, either. Newt wasn’t sure if your actions were out of pure fear or if they were unknown side-effects from the treated venom.
He tried talking to Thesius, but his brother wasn’t much help. In fact, Thesius wasn’t happy with Newt for letting you around his creatures. In fact, he said, “Newt. This is your problem. Now you fix it.” What a beautiful brotherly support.
Eventually Newt had had enough. You needed to at least go outside and see some sunlight. You were looking worse and worse every day and he couldn’t stand seeing you like this. So one afternoon he gently knocked on your door and entered your room.
“Hey, Y/N,” he greeted quietly. “Can you please come outside with me? You need to see some sunlight.”
Your red puffy eyes glanced up to him. You had been crying again. “No thank you.” Newt sighed, lowering himself to sit beside you on your bed. He looked upset, and you couldn’t help but think that it was because of you. “I’m sorry.”
“I’m worried about you,” Newt admitted. “I know you’re afraid of my creatures now, and that’s ok. But please, you need to take care of yourself and I’d like you to at least see some sunlight.”
You shook your head slowly. “No. There could be creatures out there.”
Newt took a moment to think, then grinned slightly. As he turned to face you, you tilted your head in confusion. “What?” His movements were too fast for you and you had no time to defend yourself. Newt pushed himself forward, forcing you to lay down on the bed as he pinned you down. Then his fingers glided over your sides, causing a loud laugh to burst out of you. You tried to push Newt off of you and he continued ‘torturing’ you but it was no use. He was much bigger and stronger than you, and you didn’t stand a chance against him.
Newt continued to tickle you until you couldn’t breathe and he was concerned you’d begin to hyperventilate. Your brother finally leaned back, giving you room to move away from him, still giggling. “Why’d you do that?” you asked through gasping breaths.
Newt smiled softly. “Because I’m tired of seeing you so upset. If you won’t go outside then maybe at least I can get you to smile here inside.”
You scooted over to sit next to your brother, resting your head on his shoulder. “Thanks, Newt. Hopefully I’ll get comfortable enough again to work with your creatures soon.”

Rewatching the Jenny Nicholson video on Fantastic Beasts 2 and the JKR antisemite allegations and all her confirmed literal openly nazi friends certainly explain the part of the movie- which i did see the movie okay this just made me think of this moment, i'm not only getting this secondhand- where the villain claims his mission statement is that he wants to stop the Holocaust...??? and the main characters are just like "but it's wrong to interfere with muggles, magic needs to be a secret". about the fucking Holocaust.
like "the crimes of grindlewald" are just that he wants to stop the Hollocaust and to convince you he's evil about this they code him to be a nazi?? like vilian imagery shorthand you know. and have him kill random guys, even though his actual goal is to stop the Holocaust. and the jewish character Queenie joins the metaphorical nazis who are really just people who want to stop the ACTUAL nazis, and her joining is framed as a bad thing....
like....like that's very. hmm that's very. huh.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is surprisingly excellent. I was legitimately surprised by how well put together this movie turned out. It’s a goddamn shame no one went to go see it in theaters because, in all honesty, i kind of want the sequels now. As a trilogy, Beasts is mediocre. The first entry was a good introduction to the world but the second is a whole ass dumpster fire. The third fixes a lot of the issues in the first two but no one knows because no one went to go see the f*cking thing due to circumstances outside of the film's control. Between WB shooting itself in the f*cking foot with it’s support of Amber Turd, Ezra Miller going on a crime spree in Hawaii while having a very public meltdown, and JK Rowling's aggressive transphobia, this movie had no chance. It’s a crying shame because this is easily the best of the Fantastic Beast trilogy and one of the better Harry Potter films, overall.
Queenie is redeemed early on, which was my biggest gripe from the second. She is my favorite character and the way her character was assassinated in favor of plot contrivance was absolute sh*t but that is the beauty of Beasts III; The plot is solid. The writing in this one is the best of the trilogy, doing a fantastic job of weaving several interconnecting plots into one coherent narrative. It does an admirable job of tying loose ends, especially with that Dumbledore stinger at the end of the second, and even goes full-on with the Dumbledore/Grindelwald relationship. Like, they overtly say that they love each other, several times. That last clash between the two was kind of heartbreaking. That aid, the Jacob/Queenie reconciliation was everything. I just wanted my darling Legilimens to get her happy ending because she was so goddamn delightful in the first movie. Jacob, too. Dude is the MVP of the entire trilogy.
Speaking of Jacob, Dan Fogler continues to be the best thing about these films. Alison Sudol will always have my heart as Queenie, but i watch these movies for Jacob and his Muggle shenanigans. Even so, we got some incredibly strong performances from Eddie Redmayne and Jude Law. They rarely disappoint but it’s hard to imagine someone else playing these characters at this point. I really enjoyed Mads Mikkelsen’s take on Grindlewald. It’s straight up Hannibal Lecter with a wand which, and no disrespect to Johnny Depp or Colin Farrell, is easily the best version of this character to date. It boggles my mind how Mads wasn’t the first person tapped to fill this role. Even more surprising was how well Ezra Miller performance as Credence. I don’t know how he kept his sh*t together to film his scenes but dude is really great in the role. He exudes this frailty and rage that you rarely see in this franchise. Beasts III is so well performed, i forgot that this entire production was a whole ass failure during it’s theatrical run.
This movie is so good. It’s up there with the latter Potter films after they figured out how to tell these stories and that’s the real crime here; This third entry gave them the formula. They finally got it right with this one and, because of forces outside of this production, we probably won’t get anymore of them. I would love the other four sequels, only if they are as well put together as this one, but if this is it, i am okay with letting the Beasts die here. There are still a great many stories that can be told and, while i think they did a good job cleaning up the mess left by the first two films, there are still a lot of plot holes that can be explored in later entries. As it stands, Fantastic Beasts III is a solid entry into the Wizarding World, the best of the Fantastic Beasts trilogy, and one of the better Potter films. I don’t think it’s fair that it failed so badly in theaters but i understand why it did. As a film, it didn’t deserve that. As a product of some incredibly problematic entities, it definitely did. If you can reconcile watching this thing with your conscious, i literally flew the Jolly roger to watch it because f*ck WB, Rowling, Miller, and Heard, I'd give it a solid recommendation. If not, i get that, too.
