I hope you don’t mind it being headcanons since I am going to do all three!

✧ Ardyn wouldn’t never shame you for being touch starved, especially if he knows the reasons as to why.

Hell, he’s a bit touch starved too after everything he’s been through as well.

So you’ll both have your moments of needing extra attention, it’s just Ardyn has learned to hide it more and suppress it.

✧ If you’re having a day where it is particularly bad, Ardyn will do his best to try and comfort you through it.

Like telling you that everything is going to be alright, cuddling, just making sure that he’s near you until he sees that you’re alright.

I can see Ardyn reading as he has his arm wrapped around you while you’re also doing your own thing.

He’ll make sure you have moments like that with him. No matter the time of day.

✧ Now with the clinginess, he really understands, but he tries to slowly get you out of that habit.

He has to travel a lot and he doesn’t want you having a near breakdown when he isn’t there.

Ardyn won’t do anything big at first, just small things to slowly become less clingy.

It’s not that he finds it annoying, he just overly worried and wants to make sure you’re alright.

And Ardyn definitely has his moments where he can be clingy, but again, he hasn’t experienced love in so long so he can sometimes get a tad bit carried away.

But you two are definitely in it together!

✧ Even though he’s the villain, Ardyn used to be good guy, and he had a lover of his own. So I can see him being great at comforting when he needs to be.

And like I said before, he has his own issues so there’ll be times where you’ll have to help him out too.

You both can be a clingy mess on bad days.

But I guess it actually works out a bit.

✧ Overall, you both help each other through the problems you have, each having a reason as to why you have them.

And he’ll always be there for when you need him, just like you’ll be there for him too!

So you two really balance one another out.

✧ Because of losing his parents at a young age and the empire taking over his kingdom, Ravus is also very touch starved and clingy to those he really cares about.

So the both of you can also be a very clingy mess.

And like Ardyn, he’d hide it. But that is also because he kind of has to do to the empire.

But he’ll do his best to help you. When he has the time of course.

✧ He can definitely relate to how you feel so he can get an idea on what to do and how to help, even if it’s just sitting in each other’s company on a couch.

Ravus wouldn’t mind something like that at all

In fact, he’ll even try to set aside time so you two can have moments like these.

But that’s only when you two have known each other for a while and you’re deep in a relationship.

He unfortunately has an image he has to uphold.

✧ There are days where the two of you can just spend hours doing nothing but sitting in silence, but you’re both content with it.

Sometimes it’s all about the presence and not the talking.

Ravus understands that a lot and relishes in moments like that.

Unfortunately they just don’t happen often enough.

But he tries to make time for them to happen.

✧ Like with Ardyn too, Ravus has days where it’s harder to mask so you’ll have to help him.

Which you never mind, you’ll definitely give him the same love and curtesy that he’s given you all those other times.

Even if he denies that he needs it.

He’ll soften up if he sees cuddling or any form of hugging is going to be involved.

Ravus definitely returns the favor for you as well. Almost immediately too.

🖤Gladiolus🖤

✧ Out of the three, Gladio is not as touch starved, but he does do his damndest to make sure you know you’re loved and all that.

He may not be all too good with words, but his actions are louder!

Much louder.

✧ If you have bad days where things are worse, Gladio will offer to go out and do something in each other’s company.

Even if it’s something like working out or going to his favorite ramen shop.

He is also someone who wouldn’t mind just sitting down with a good book while you either read or do whatever you want near him.

Actions are definitely easier for him to handle.

✧ You might’ve had to explain a little bit about how you are and why, but he understands.

I feel like he has a harder time with emotional things and tries to tackle the problem head on, which can be good, sometimes.

But he quickly learns that this is not something that can be dealt with so easily.

He means well, but he can be a himbo at times.

✧ There are times he has seemed a tad bit insensitive, but it has always been a misunderstanding and he means well.

Again, emotions are not his strong suit so you’ll have to be patient with him.

Gladio will definitely to his best to make you feel content and loved in the best ways he knows how.

First ever tumblr post. This is what this man does to me!

Anyways, I’m just here to express a “little” headcanon that i have on ffxv… Who am i kiding? It’s basically a headcanon plot/world.

Let’s just say that, when I’m deep into the pretty dark rabbit hole that’s this man’s fandom, and i want to go to a happy place where he is… well, in better emocional and mental condition… i imagine this (sorry for any mistakes, inglish isn’t my first lenguaje):

Somnus didn’t kill anyone, and he was an actually nice fella. Both him and his brother, along with Aera, eventually noticed that Ardyn would live longer than most humans (probably joking around during a really holesome whine drinking night).

The thing is, our lovely redhead didn’t really wan’t to be king. Don’t get him wrong, he wanted to help people in the best way he could (wich he considered to be: travelling as he had been doing and helping with the scourge). And he couldn’t do that while also taking proper care of his royal responsabilities. So, at one point (that i still haven’t fully imagined) he convinces Somnus to take his role as heir, under one condition: Ardyn will stay by his family’s side, becoming an advisor and protector to the future generations of his younger brother’s progeny. Of course the eldest, being a family man at heart, accepts and continues his labor.

As the years pass, he becomes more bitter (and a lot like the man we know from the games), the countless loses a heavy weight in his soul. But he keeps his promise, seeing it as honouring his brother’s will and mantaining a proppouse during his seemingly endless life. All of the heirs come to know him as an “uncle” and hear the story. So that’s also the case with Regis and, of course, Noctis. The last one looks a lot more like Somnus than most of his ancestors and, a little because of that and a little because of his personality and his insistance on following him around, they form a deep bond. This brings Ardyn closer to the man he was before, and also creates some pretty wholesome momments that i might or might not write as oneshots.

Sooooo… yeah. That’s my little story/headcanon world. I hope i don’t forget to keep posting. Tell me what you think! Farewell!

Umbra and Pryna Theory

Guys, I have a crazy theory: It always seemed logical that Umbra was somehow related to Noctis and Pryna was somehow related to Luna - that these are their totem spirits, guardians, or something like that. But what if they are associated with the Lucis Caelum and Nox Fleuret families themselves, and not specific people? Prina died in "Episode Ignis", let's say, not only because of Luna, but because Starscourge in Ravus's prosthesis had already begun to affect him, and he was slowly degrading, ceasing to be human, so Nox Fleuret family, in fact, ceased to exist. From this the question "Why, after the death of all the Lucis Caelum, including Noctis and Ardyn, did Umbra survive?" becomes even more interesting. :)

FFXV DRIVING HEADCANONS:

Noctis is the most relaxed driver. That doesn't necessarily mean he's the safest though. He's prone to being distracted by small things. I,e: passing cars listening to music he knows, a nice car model, the perfect fishing spots. He plays with the seat positioning so he can feel laid back, ALWAYS leaving a hand draped over the door when the Regalia's convertible is down.

Ignis is obviously the safest driver. He doesn't risk driving at night, being careful to read every road sign twice to be sure he's going the right way. In traffic he has a nervous reaction of tapping the wheel in rhythm to the music Prompto always demands is on.

Prompto is the worst driver. He breaks too hard, oversteers every corner slightly. Being the shortest he always positions the seat SOO close to the wheel. He always has to pull the sun visor down because his short ass is always directly in the sun's path. As previously mentioned, he ALWAYS has the music on. He also has a bad habit of fiddling with various switches and dials which Ignis has to correct later. He is too nervous to drive at night.

Gladiolus is the most reckless driver. An opportunity to drift the Regalia is always a corner away. He is more then happy to drive at night and is often having to use his charm to talk himself out of speeding tickets. He has to re-angle the rear view mirror due to being the tallest. His hair almost always brushes against the roof of the Regalia when it's up, and for that reason, he will only drive in good weather.

Unhealthy obsession with Cup Noodle, which is weird because he’s so into fitness (fitness cup noodle in his mouth) and working out and staying healthy

HUMAN FURNANCE, which is fantastic during cold nights but is what you imagine hellfire feels like when it’s hot. Especially when it’s hot, and you got that morning sweat(death) box tent heat.

Will absolutely recommend you books if you ask, we love an avid reader

Will personalize you training to your needs, you dont even have to ask he just knows what you need

SNORES THE LOUDEST

Ignis

Def the mom of the group, makes sure you eat, drink your fluids, bandage your wounds, mends your clothes, etc

Hands down best food you will ever eat in your life, even just a plain slice of cheese pizza has never tasted so good

Bonus points if you show interest in cooking, he’s definitely the most patient teacher

Perfect tent buddy, doesn’t snore, isn’t a human furnace, in fact he just stays in one position all night

Is absolutely the lightest sleeper. You got up to pee one time and all you heard was “where are you going?” and you turned around to see him sitting upright and wide awake

You know you’ve become closer when he drops his formal way of addressing you, and instead adopts your nickname

DAD PUNS!! COME ON DOWN GET YOUR DAD PUNS FIIIIIIVE DOLLARS!!!!!!!!

At the start of the trip you loved his puns, and now you just groan along with the rest of the boys(you still love hearing them but you’re not about to stroke his ego)

So, I'm falling back into the FFXV kick, and I have decided that I disapprove of how little complex character development Square Enix has given the guys?? Like where is the emotional depth beyond surface-level cutscene angst?? So I took matters into my own hands and have compiled a handy little list of headcanons / expanded canons that I think make sense.

Noctis: Has clinical insomnia and frequent lucid dreams (sorta a given, but bear w me bear w me)

Feels the weight of having to take so much on from such a young age much, much more than he lets on

Loves to argue

Would've been happier if he and Luna stayed as childhood best-buds rather than betrothed fiancés (controversial, ik, but it just didn't seem like he cared that much for her romantically to me?? Like he obviously cared about her, but it seemed like a really strong penpal vibe rather than a "We're-gonna-get-married-and-be-the-next-hotshot-couple" vibe. If you disagree, coolio, I'm not gonna debate w you on this one)

Has a natural sadness to his eyes regardless of what he's feeling

Went through an anime phase (possibly still in his anime phase, idk)

Social anxiety for the win

Severe RBF

Prefers tea over coffee (black tea is best---particularly lavender earl grey)

Can play the cello (practicing tho?? Don't know her)

Writes the most beautiful poetry when The Motivation™ strikes him (usually when he's home sick and half-delirious)

Prompto: Has ADHD and clinical anxiety, but is undiagnosed and doesn't take any meds for either of them.

Is legit like SO SMART, but can never focus, so not many people take any notice

Wears contact lenses (he had glasses as a child and I refuse to believe he had some high-tech corrective surgery to eliminate the need for them when lenses are cheaper and less risky)

Doesn't drink caffeine because it makes him jittery

Doesn't drive the Regalia when the guys are around because having other people in the car distracts him from the road. Also he tends to drive like a speed demon, which worries Ignis to no end.

Sunburns insanely easily

Could legit become a hitman if he wanted to with the amount of gun-knowledge he has. It doesn't matter what firearm you put in this boy's hand---pistol, SMG, sniper, rocket launcher, you name it. He can and will hit the target every single time.

Addicted to adrenaline

Pansexual

Has a lot of self-loathing (we see a bit of this in Ep. Prompto) and talks with an online therapist about it via text whenever his lows hit him. He's making great progress in learning how to heal and how to accept himself for who he is beyond the mask he wears for others

Ignis: More than a little bit of a control freak, and works very hard not to be too overbearing or critical about his friends' misgivings

Hypochondriac

Wants to protect everyone all the time and mentally kicks himself when he doesn't get there fast enough

Is SO PROUD of Noctis's journey and felt a stronger hatred towards Ardyn than anyone else in the group for what he forced Noct to go through (he stayed up at night sick to his stomach with hollow rage and baked nonstop to take his mind off of it)

Can verbally obliterate a man, but only rarely chooses to do so bc he's classy like that

After losing his eyes, he notices so much more beauty in the world than he used to (the sound of rain on the Regalia's roof, the specific gait of each of his friends, the smell of salt on the wind in Galdin Quay, the flawless feel of one specific silk tie he has in his repertoire, etc)

His internal compass is never wrong

Regularly takes antacids for his stomach

Has the straightest teeth you've ever seen

Demiromantic

Gladio: Hates being wrong: it's his way or the highway

Actually so much smarter than the musclehead jock front he puts up

A little vain and easily jealous (this man has a Jealous Face like no other)

Thunderstorms are his favorite; his ideal place to be is at a campsite, during a storm, with a well-worn book and a mug of Irish coffee in hand

Would throw himself in front of a bus for any one of his friends

Would beat up kids for the folks he cared about in middle school and spent the time he wasn't training to be a Crownsguard sitting in detention with the most unrepentant, smug, and-I'd-do-it-again look scrawled across his face

Can make a better smoothie than anyone (except maybe Iggy)

Spotify junkie

Had a dinosaur phase as a kid and can still name random facts about them whenever the opportunity presents itself

Avid technology-hater and only has a phone to make calls and join the others in playing King's Knight since they begged him so profoundly (he's sure the thing's going to be his downfall)

Gets most of Prompto's pop culture references

irrelevant headcanon: ignis doesn't read in the car like gladio does because he gets carsick very easily. he prefers to drive because when he's actively at the wheel, it's much easier to focus on the road and not the vertigo. every time noctis break checks him he loses his mind a little bit more. prompto isn't allowed to drive because one time he got them pulled over and when they did the drunk checks, ignis failed the straight line test so badly they made him do a breathalyzer. do with this what you will

Since Prom’s around, Gladio wants to Dom. But you make him sub and hand the reigns over to Prom.

Calls you his "Starlight." During his endless years on Eos, the only thing that remained consistent was the stars above.

When you laugh about the nickname as he explains it to you, Ardyn will be quick to remind you... he's extra. A exaggerated sigh followed by him throwing his head back, the whole thing. A hand on his head. "Oh how, could you betray me so! "

Literally if there was a photo by the word extra in the dictionary, well.. The definition would be covered up because the guy pasted glamour shots of himself all over the page.

Ardyn was once royalty, and he keeps surprising you with all the skills he's learned. Art is one of his favorites, and while he waves away your praises at his little doodles, it means quite a lot to the man.

You tend to find little drawings on your papers, sticky notes, really any paper you have lying around.

As a date night idea, you proposed the two of you start a sketchbook!

It went well, and you pass the book back and forth every so often.

Seeing quite the impressive portrait he made next to your small cat doodle, it makes Ardyn smile.

FFXV Headcanon:

The Crow’s Nest or some other fast food restaurant has a kids menu and it comes with a toy. More specifically King’s Knight toys!

Prompto and Noctis will of course eat there as often as possible to order the kids menu to collect all the toys.

They do also play with their toys in the car.

The requests will be open until there's too many OR December 21st, after that I will close them. If I get more than 10 requests I'll choose my favorites, otherwise I'll write them all.

When the event ends, I'll post a list of the requests received and link them to the masterlist, so you'll know where to find them.
