@raffaelbader In Raffael Bader’s paintings, which are largely characterized by landscape, he considers his view of a world full of tensions while these hold the world together. He pursues a nature that consists of structures that strive for harmony on a chaotic breeding ground; in the same way he understands us humans and our social interactions. In the process of creating an image, he looks for what presents itself to him as core elements of this nature. He finds this in landscapes and their colors, shapes and lines, which awaken longings in us while simultaneously containing the subtle presence of danger. Images emerge that originate from reality. However, not the one that is currently being experienced, but the reality that forms in himself over time, manifesting itself in his paintings. The forms found, move between strong abstraction and familiar structures. Because of his understanding of the allegory between nature and social behavior, he subtly treats his own social interactions in his painting. Therefore, it is a highly emotional activity for him. https://theflyingfruitbowl.co.uk/2022/11/29/raffael-bader/ Link in bio! #art #fineart #fineartist #fineartpainter #artistsupport #artist #creativeprocess #contemporaryart #abstractart #mixedmedia #abstractartist #artpodcast #painting #mixedmediaart #abstractlandscape #landscape https://www.instagram.com/p/CljI842o7qi/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Curatorial note by Shrikant Vishwakarma for an exhibition of paintings by Jay Tajane held at Jehangir Art Gallery from 13 to 19 September 2022.
Climate change continues to be a persistent problem faced on a global level. Climate-consciousness enables us to think more critically about the impact humans are having on the environment and how we need to act in a socially responsible manner in order to conserve and protect our planet. As wildfires ignite across the globe, water-levels rise, and entire ecosystems collapse, we are faced with the ever-increasing and inescapable effects of our climate crisis.
Jay presents a labyrinth of forms representing the plight of nature using imagery of trees. He examines the symbiotic relationship between nature, humans, and their environments. The paintings integrate modern contemporary aesthetics while signaling the urgency for fighting climate change. Birth, maturity and decomposition is part of the natural world, this transition is portrayed with creative brilliance demonstrating art’s ability to provoke emotional, visceral responses from the viewer.
The series is a display of artistic practice as a tool to interrogate wider socio-political concerns caused by the negative impact humans have on the physical environment. For Jay materiality plays a key and essential part of his artistic practice when bringing to light issues of climate change.

@that_marcus_boy I've been playing around with painting from abstraction in my recent work, I’ve been studying the artist ‘Theo Prins’ and his concept work which heavily employs this practice and trying to inject it into my own work. These are the results of some of those experiments which often lead to wild and imaginative scenes and environments that you couldn’t conceivably think up without the abstraction process, I thought this ended itself well to fantasy world building in which me and a good friend are currently collaborating on. https://theflyingfruitbowl.co.uk/2022/11/21/marcus-johnston/ Link in bio! #topograpghics #fineart #fineartist #artistssupportingartists #digitalart #painting #citypainting #realismart #artisttofollow #cityscape #submityourwork #contemporaryart #artistsupport #artists #emergingartist #digitalpainting https://www.instagram.com/p/ClOZ-06ILwl/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Here's a monochrome digital painting I made of Sophie last year using Clip Studio Paint. I actually got my layers right for once =) I have to say one of the hardest concepts for me to embrace with digital art coming from a traditional art background was layers...I'm so used to painting on one canvas. Using layers felt very awkward, but now I love it. It's nice not to have to start over or repaint!
These are images of how I started the building process of the American privateer. More photos will highlight the beautiful and interesting details on this thread. Stay tuned!
