What if Housamo introduced Aphrodite and it’s just Astarte with a laurel wreath on her head

#ramblings #housamo #for those that don’t know… Aphrodite and Astarte are like… the same person basically #Astarte’s followers (phoenecians/canaanites) would eventually reach an island near Greece that Sparta claimed territory of #the Phoenician people of Kythira shared their culture with the Spartans and introduced Astarte #and the Spartans adopted her #and she became known as Aphrodite. The Spartans kept her more warlike associations in addition to her symbolizing love. #The Athenians though were turned off by this and instead tried removing Aphrodite’s more warlike aspects from her character #but yeah Aphrodite and Astarte are essentially the same person so it could totally be a Bael/Baal/Seth situation #you could even use it to explore Astaroth’s character more since they’re the version that was appropriated into being a demon from Gehenna #while Aphrodite is the version that went down a VERY different path #it would be very interesting to see (silly text post aside)
