Josh Maniscalco Named to 2023 ECHL All-Star Classic

Wheeling's Leading Scorer to Represent Western Conference in Norfolk on January 16th The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, in conjunction with the ECHL, are excited to announce that defenseman Josh Maniscalco has been selected to play in the 2023 Warrior/ECHL All-Star Classic presented by Optima Health and Sentara Healthcare. Maniscalco, 23, is having an outstanding second season with the Nailers, as he is currently leading the team in scoring at nearly a point-per-game pace. Josh has eight goals, 17 assists, and 25 points in 26 games. In addition to his lead in assists and points, he is also in the top spot on the club in power-play points (13) and shots on goal (90). His eight goals and 25 points are both tied for the most among ECHL defensemen, and his 90 shots put him in sole possession of first among blueliners. Maniscalco has posted multiple points on seven occasions this season, and three of those games have come in the last two weeks, as he has collected eight points in his last four contests. This is the Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania native's fourth time being honored by the ECHL in his two seasons with Wheeling. Last season, he was named to the All-ECHL Second Team and the ECHL All-Rookie Team, and he was also the AMI Graphics Plus Performer of the Month in December of 2021. Josh played in his 100th professional game on Friday, in addition to his 90th as a Nailer. He has amassed 25 goals, 53 assists, and 78 points in a Wheeling uniform. The 2023 Warrior/ECHL All-Star Classic presented by Optima Health and Sentara Healthcare will be played in Norfolk, Virginia on Monday, January 16th. The game will air live exclusively on NHL Network and will stream on FloHockey. The evening will consist of a tournament featuring the ECHL All-Stars and the host Norfolk Admirals, with an integrated skills competition with points counting towards each team's score. The Norfolk Admirals will announce their rosters for the Cruisers and Destroyers next week. Additionally, Ann-Sophie Bettez and Sydney Brodt of the Premier Hockey Federation, as well as Emily Brown and Sam Cogan of the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association will each be assigned to one of the four teams. The 15th class of the ECHL Hall of Fame will be officially inducted at a luncheon at noon on the same day as the All-Star Classic. 1965 Shelby Cobra 289 “Dragonsnake” CSX2472.  This is one of only four Dragonsnakes ever built by Shelby, it was extensively raced, and it is one of the winningest Cobra chassis known.  The first Dragonsnake built set a then record 1/4 mile time of 12.81 at 108.95 mph.  The second car was even faster, setting a new NHRA A/SP record of 11.81 seconds at 116.27 mph.  This specific car was built by AC in England on an order by Shelby, but Shelby never completed the build of what was supposed to be a “Cobra Team Race Car.”  About 6 months after Shelby received the car, two time Le Mans winner Ed Hugus placed an order for a “Stage II Dragonsnake” which would become this car.  The car was delivered to the customer for a t  otal price of *8,199.52 including freight across the country.  It was sold again two years later, and that new owner put around 10,000 miles on the car while competing extensively in autocrosses and hill climbs where they collected somewhere around 1,200 trophies.  The car was eventually restored, and was for sale when spotted here at a Fuelfed Garage Night in September of 2015

Going for @precisionnutrition was a logical step, really. Being fed up with gurus and the lack of agnostics in the field of nutrition training, I knew I had to properly educate myself on the subject. Hence, I chose the gold standard. Pricey, but well worth it. The education materials are top notch. Textbook, workbook, video and audio resources perfectly complement each other and allowed me to work with higher focus at home, then have it all repeated in a multi modal manner on the go. I work a lot and have rather extensive commutes, so being able to just listen to the concepts I just read about the other day was really helpful. The red lyrium idol has three figures.

I couldn’t help feeling a bit of a Mandela effect when recently i started reading/hearing about this item’s “two figures” because i clearly remember seeing three, so after i found confirmation my good visual memory hadn’t abandoned me yet, i started thinking...

(Some Tevinter Nights spoilers ahead)

The central figure stands crowned and looking up, an embracing figure in front of her holding her from her waist as she holds it closer with her right arm and hand around his head. Being the most visible figures at the front of the idol, they stand out so it’s been referred to as “lovers” “one figure comforting the other” in Tevinter Nights “The Dread Wolf take you”. This made me doubt, TN being legit official Dragon Age content insisting on the idol’s two figures.

But behind the central figure (let’s call her Mythal) is another figure in similar posture as the front one, missing most of its left arm, and Mythal holds it close putting her left hand on its back. In the middle stands a circle, through which the crowned figure extends her left arm to hold the back figure, as this one is separated from the other two.

While circles have been used to depict special quality in people, mainly a supernatural or divine nature, such elements are usually reserved to adorn their heads, and this circle is big enough that it more resembles a portal than a halo,.

If you adhere to the theory of a spirit origin of the elvhen, this becomes more relevant, as the circle/portal here could indicate a passage from one plane onto the other. Both front and back figures may be the same but shown on different sides, even the position their arms would be (if some pieces weren’t missing or broken) could point to both figures mirroring each other. This reading is still confusing, as in Pre-Veil times there was no here and there and both planes were kind of merged into each other...so instead of talking about planes -the physical world and the Fade-, maybe it’d be more accurate to speak of different natures or forms of being -physical and spiritual-

So, in the elvhen spirit origin theory, assuming Solas was a spirit summoned by Mythal, and seeing how Solas refers to the idol as being of his property, the red lyrium idol may represent a) his origin as elvhen from a spirit Mythal pulled from the Fade, b) Mythal’s death and Solas mourning, c) both.

It’s not uncommon in art to ignore lineality of time and space to depict a complete scene in one piece. This idol could represent Solas the spirit being summoned by Mythal into a physical existence (the back figure on the other side of the circle-portal) and simultaneously Solas the elf in close relation to Mythal, the embrace signifying possibly both his affection in life and his grief in her death.

Alternatively, and if you don’t agree with the spirit origin theory, knowing Mythal was murdered the back figure could be the culprit. Considering the figure is missing the left arm, and is positioned at the back of the crowned figure, it could be possible said arm had a blade in its hand, ready to kill.

Then, if you fancy tinfoil hats, you could say the back figure missing the left arm is the Inquisitor third-wheeling the ancient elvhen relationship between the other two, still touched by Mythal ( either from drinking from the Well of Sorrows or simply from Flemeth’s involvement in Inquisition), but separate from them (from a different world, different nature, different time) unable to reach Solas because he’s still clinging on to what was.

Other questions remain, like why is the idol made of red lyrium? Why was it found in a forgotten thaig full of red lyrium? We now know lyrium is titan blood and red lyrium is blighted so why would Solas have an idol made of blighted titan blood? Was it always like that or was it originally a regular lyrium idol that somehow got tainted? When and how did it get tainted? The idol is said to be considerably heavy and feel in one’s hand like it holds liquid inside..We’ve been introduced in Tevinter Nights to a potion that can “soften” raw lyrium, a potion learned in Dalish dreams; the idol can be used to “free the elven gods or something”. And Solas now casually refers to his plan as his ritual. The Magisters Sidereal used blood magic in an overly complex ritual to open the Veil, and lyrium is blood so is Solas planning on using blood magic too? But red lyrium is blighted blood, and then there’s this banter ..Also, according to Solas himself, using blood magic in excess negatively affects one’s connection to the Fade, tentatively because it’s a form of magic that takes its fuelf from the physical world rather than the spiritual one, so did Solas install the Veil by using blood magic as well??  Ancient elvhen would dedicate hundreds of years to weave a single spell so i guess we have plenty of time to stop him..But what is this ritual he speaks of about, what will it take to be completed??
