“I knew someone would come for me,” Remy sighs. He puts his hands up but he keeps the bejeweled box between himself and the door. “I just never thought it would be you, Bishop.”

“Kind of surprises me, to be honest,” Bishop says. “I’ve been on your case for as long as we’ve known each other. I’ve been watching your every move.”

“To be honest, mon ami,” Remy says, “I thought dat was just your way of flirting.”

For just a moment, Bishop stutters and loses his composure, but it doesn’t take him long to recover. “Look... the rest of the X-Men, they’ve noticed the string of museum robberies. They’re starting to put two and two together, Lebeau.” 

“Well, what can I say? You can put the thief in the X-Men but you can’t take the thief out of the X-Man.” He bows his head, all the fight fading out of him. Remy knows he could always fight back, but any kinetic energy he throws at Bishop, the other man will just absorb. This heist always had an expiration date, he knew that. And now it’s here. “Look... I’ll come quietly. Just lemme say goodbye to the cats, okay?”

Bishop’s brow furrows. “You think I’m here to take you in?”

Remy’s train of thought screeches like a record being scratched. “Uh... yes?”

Bishop laughs softly, which is kind of annoying, really. What else was Remy supposed to think, with Bishop showing up here like this in the middle of the night, in full uniform? “No, no, I’m not here to arrest you,” Bishop assures him. “I’m here to help you, Remy.” Remy. “I know a pilot who can get us to Wakanda by morning. We’ll be able to put those artifacts back where they belong. That is... unless you wanted to do this alone?”

Slowly, Remy smiles. “Nah,” he says. “I think the two of us make a great team.”

I saw the "Gambit raised bishop" comment on your gambish post and I think they're talking about how in The Lives and Times of Lucas Bishop he's very very briefly mentored by a post apocalyptic Gambit buy idkkkkk

yeah i looked it up but...i wouldn’t say he raised bishop??? he was there for like, a few weeks, said some weird shit about the xmen and then disappeared living little bishop mid-trip. my understanding of this timeline is, really blurry. this apparently came out after gambit bishop: sons of atoms. idk man
